Method Man Gets Improv Lessons From Jonah Hill

‘I applaud people that can think that quick on their feet,’ he tells ‘RapFix Live,’ while offering an update on his acting career. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Photo: MTV News Throughout his career, Method Man has been able to earn his respect in hip-hop and Hollywood simultaneously. As a prominent member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Meth has released four solo albums, two with Redman and a number of Clan-related projects. As an actor, he’s starred in major films like “Belly” and “Cop Land,” as well as the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Wire.” Look for Meth to take his acting to another level in the next few months. First, in December he will star alongside Jonah Hill in “The Sitter.” While on set with the “Superbad” actor, Tical learned a lesson in improv. “I didn’t know that they did these long-ass rants, to the point where, like, you’re waiting to get your line in, and just when you’re about to say your line — cut! — ran out of film,” he said when he appeared on “RapFix Live” last week. “I applaud people that can think that quick on their feet. Now I watch a Will Ferrell movie, I can see it now. I can see what he’s doin’.” At the top of 2012, Meth will transition into more of a dramatic role as a Tuskegee pilot in the World War II drama “Red Tails.” In preparing for the role, the rapper learned a lot about the historical significance of the African-American military aviators who had to conquer a racially segregated armed forces. “I met some of the actual pilots, and they would sit there telling us the stories,” he said. Meth — who co-stars with Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard and Tristan Wilds in the George Lucas-produced, Anthony Hemingway-directed film — also spoke on the physical training he had to endure in preparation for the film. According to the rapper, it was a lot like boot camp, but also a valuable bonding experience. “By the time I was done with the movie, I can actually call the majority of those dudes on the set friends,” he said. On September 5th 2010 Justin came to the State Fair near where I live. Mallory and Carlee, 2 of my cousins, came all the was from PA just to see him in concert with me! This was an outside concert and standing only. You had to wake up and camp out SUPER early to get colored wristbands. The colors had times and locations on them, this was when you were allowed into the concert area. The earlier you got in line, the earlier you got to get in, the closer you are to the stage. We woke up REALLY early the day of the concert to get in line, but when we got there, the line was already so long. We we’re so upset because we thought we would be at the very back of the concert crowd. We waited in line for hours. We got purple bands meaning we would be far. This all happened at 10am and we were awake since 5am. At 11:11am, I told my two cousins to “make a wish!” Of course we all wished for the same, most logical thing! TO MEET JUSTIN BIEBER!  We got back to the fair, and there was  NO  parking. We knew we had to meet in a certain location according to our bands so I went up to this security guy and said, “Where do the purple bands go?” he said “Right here!” so we followed a few people right onto the field and stood in this line. We thought everything was right. Then this guy came out and said, ”Ok, we are taking the pictures & JUSTIN is not signing Autographs! You do not need markers out!” The 3 of us looked at each other & screamed! WHAT DID HE JUST SAY!? Thats right! We were accidentally put in the meet & greet line because meet & greet people had purple bands too, just not the same writing on them. We turned the corner and there he was! We got our picture with him and I was the last of our group to leave so I asked him for hug (he was sick and not supposed to hug) but he said YES! The good luck didn’t end there, since the meet & greet was on the field we got to get our places to stand! So instead of the very back we got front row! THANK YOU JUSTIN BIEBER & the guy that told us the wrong place.  Love, The 3 cousins:  Kacie, Mallory & Carlee Read more from the original source: On September 5th 2010 Justin came to the State Fair near where I…

Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck Expecting Third Baby

Couple says they are ‘thrilled’ to have a sibling for Violet and Seraphina. By Jocelyn Vena Jennifer Garner Photo: FilmMagic Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are making room for one more baby. The couple confirmed that they are expecting their third child. They confirmed the news to The Associated Press, simply saying that they are “thrilled” to have another baby. The pair, who married in 2005 already have two daughters, Violet, 5, and Seraphina , 2. “She’s always wanted three kids,” a source told a href=”http://www.usmagazine.com/momsbabies/news/jennifer-garner-pregnant-with-third-child-2011228″ target=”_blank”> UsMagazine.com of Garner. “This was her plan all along.” In addition to a growing family, Garner and Affleck still have busy film careers to juggle. Garner, who recently starred in the “Arthur” remake alongside Russell Brand, has a number of films on her docket, including “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” which she just promoted at Disney’s D23 convention, and

Beastie Boys’ ‘Make Some Noise’: A VMA Cheat Sheet

Video of the Year nominee is packed with characters from the Beasties’ past. By James Montgomery Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride in the Beastie Boy’s “Make Some Noise” video Photo: Capitol If they’ve been anything over the course of their near-30-year career, the Beastie Boys have always been thorough, the kind of band that derives some sort of perverse pleasure from peppering their music with a sundry of pop-culture references, inside jokes and exhaustively sought, expertly placed samples. And because of that, they’ve managed to create their own rather insular world, the kind of place where Mantan Moreland hangs out with Ted Danson, where Led Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks” rubs elbows with Les Baxter’s “Prelude in C# Minor.” And luckily for all of us, each time they release an album, they pull the curtain back slightly, and invite us in for a drink. So it’s fitting that their “Make Some Noise” clip (which is up for Video of the Year at this Sunday’s VMAs) may very well be the most thorough thing they’ve ever done: a glorious, goofy thing that’s packed with references to their past, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it jokes and more celebrity cameos than Michael Jackson’s “Liberian Girl.” To wit, it’s certainly the only Video of the Year nominee to have begun life as a 30-minute mini-movie, and it’s the kind of thing that requires repeat viewings to thoroughly enjoy — which, given everything the Beasties packed into it (and the three-decade lead-up to its creation) is sort of the point, really. Back in April, immediately following its premiere (as a short film called “Fight for Your Right Revisited” ), we compiled an annotated guide to the galaxy of stars who make cameos — a list that includes everyone from Susan Sarandon to Danny Masterson — and the sly references that you might have missed. But now, with the VMAs right around the corner, we’ve gone back and watched “Make Some Noise” again, and boy, are we amazed at the amount of stuff we didn’t catch the first time through. Then again, such is the beauty of the video (and the Beastie Boys for that matter): They’re always willing to go the extra mile, with delightfully ridiculous results. Here now are even more moments from “Make Some Noise,” a video that takes a look back at the B-Boys’ rather glorious past, and one that, if anything, is definitely thorough. George Drakoulias Greek music producer/pal of early Beasties’ collaborator Rick Rubin, Drakoulias was immortalized in a line on the Paul’s Boutique track “Stop That Train” (“Bought a hot dog from who? George Drakoulias”). Fittingly, Drak shows up in “Make Some Noise,” selling Danny McBride’s MCA a street dog. Of course, in typical Beastie fashion, the role is actually played by actor Clint Caluory, and he’s officially credited as “Clint as Zach Galifianakis as George Drakoulias.” “Hey Ladies” Paul’s Boutique single that is consistently referenced in the “Make Some Noise” clip, particularly in the limo scene, where driver Will Ferrell sports a gold tooth (a reference to the line “She’s got a gold tooth, you know she’s hard-core”) and bangs on a cowbell (just like the song). The whole thing concludes with the Beasties getting booted from the backseat, just like the line “She’ll show you a good time, then she’ll show you the door.” All that’s missing is a cameo by Sadaharu Oh. “Hold It, Now Hit It” Single from the License to Ill era, it’s also referenced during the limo scene, when Mike D (or, you know, Seth Rogen) asks for some LSD-laced breath drops with the line “Pass that over here man, all right!” which, as any Beasties aficionado will tell you, is the same phrase uttered in the song. Johnny Ryall Titular star of the Paul’s Boutique track, he’s a homeless man with a rockabilly past and bread-bag shoes. In “Make Some Noise,” he’s played by actor Orlando Bloom, and while the big O isn’t rocking Wonder Bread slip-ons (or hand-me-down Pumas), he does sport a rather nice Def Jam windbreaker. Also displays impressive window-washing skills. “Shake Your Rump” Second track on Paul’s Boutique (and, in a lot of ways, the album’s official kickoff), it’s also referenced in the “Make Some Noise” limo scene, when MCA takes a rip off a nitrous-filled balloon, a nod to the line “In the back of the ride and bust with the whippit .” “She’s Crafty” Snotty License to Ill track on which the Beasties paid homage to several down-and-dirty females, including one who manages to rob them of all their possessions, including a mirror, a TV, a remote control and a skateboard. In a sublimely meta “Make Some Noise” moment, the Boys return the favor, swiping the skateboard back from a girl played by Adam Yauch’s real life daughter. Sir Stewart Wallace International man of mystery portrayed by Yauch in the Beasties’ epochal “Sabotage” video, Wallace shows up for just a second in “Make Some Noise,” piling out of the back of a cab and dropping his briefcase (which appears to be filled with bricks of cocaine) in the process. But this time around, it’s artist/director Mike Mills who steps into Sir Stew’s eternally pressed suit. What did we miss? Let us know in the comments! The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. June 23, 2011 at 5:45 PM. The day that my whole life changed….

June 23, 2011 at 5:45 PM. The day that my whole life changed. June 21st my friend came to me and said, “OH! Guess what? I am going to the Justin Bieber Someday launch in NYC at Macy’s and I am aloud to bring a friend, would you like to come? We get to meet Justin and everything”. (Now let me tell you I have been a Belieber for the longest time and I knew he was coming out with a perfume) The moment that she asked me, I became speechless, I started sweating, hyperventilating, and crying. She asked me if that considered as a “yes” and as loud as I can I screamed “YES” jumping up and down out of excitement.  Two days later on Thursday, June 23 2011, I woke up at 9:00 just to get ready. We were taking the 3:00 train, but I knew I had to look perfect for Justin. I spent all day picking out clothing and doing my hair. We got to NYC and walked 3-5 blocks as I hear my pink converse slapping the wet ground and millions of girls running around us. We FINALLY reached Macy’s as I saw lines and lines of girls outside, screaming and crying. We got special VIP passes so we zipped through those lines. Finally, we took 7 escalators up to the 8th floor where we were  greeted  by these two girls. They both worked backstage for Justin. They gave us 2 VIP bracelets and opened HUGE doors. I walked in and my heart was beating so fast that I thought I was going to faint. They were playing loud Justin Bieber music and there were a ton of girls waiting to meet Justin. We got addressed to a VIP line but they said that they were going to let the girls that were waiting outside all night  to meet him first. First we approached Kenny. We talked for a little and we took pictures, then they made us get back on the line. Funny enough right next to the line, was Dave Renyolds. We talked for the longest time cause we were waiting on the line for like 2 hours. We were also standing behind this very famous Mets player and his daughter and wife (of course I forgot his name). Finally the VIP line started moving. My party got instructed to a little white tent which was right before the stage to meet Justin. The Met’s guy’s family went first so we were standing in that tent for a while. There was a little curtain to lead to the other tent, so I looked through. In there was Pattie, Scooter, and his other workers sitting. We waved “Hi” and they pulled us away from the curtain. They said “GO” as they pushed us out the curtain and there RIGHT THERE was standing Justin Bieber. I felt like my heart was going to drop on the floor in front of me. He looked ADORABLE! He was wearing bright red Supras, black skinny jeans, a black under shirt, and a black vest. He looked super cute with his new haircut and his David Yurmen necklace. I walked up and he greeted us with “Hey guys!” and as he put his arm around my shoulder to take a picture, I felt like I was going to MELT. We saw flashing lights every where and then they stopped and screamed “COME ON GUYS, NEXT!” But I could not take that for an answer. I said “May I please have a huge, I love you so much!” and he responded with “Of course you can sweetheart!” At that moment I gave him the best bear hug ever. I let go (not to be weird) and screamed “THANK YOU SO MUCH” and ran off the stage. I was greeted by Scooter who escorted us out. “Thank you so much!” I said. “No problem” Scooter said with a nice smile.  As I walked down those Macy escalators I felt like I had accomplished something. I met Justin Drew Bieber. I felt so lucky and so grateful. Thank you so much to my best friend. If Justin reads this, I love you to death and want to thank you for doing all you do to please your fans. – CARLY  @bieberbeadlesck   Read the original: June 23, 2011 at 5:45 PM. On Tuesday November 23, 2010 I went to Justin Bieber’s concert in Toronto, Ontario and what happened is that my friends and I got to the concert early. Right when we got into the Air Canada Centre we went looking for a bathroom. We had floor seats so we had access to all the V.I.P areas. We saw a line so we stood in it thinking it was for the bathroom. About 2 minutes of waiting and I noticed everyone coming from the way was either screaming of joy, or crying , then I also noticed everyone in the line had on a wristband. At that very second my friends and I had realized we were standing in line to meet JUSTIN BIEBER! We decided to stay in the line and about 5 minutes later security asked us how many people, we said 3. He didn’t check if we had wristbands (we didn’t) and then as we were waiting to go in, we saw Justin with his friends taking a picture. Right after that we were let in! There he was, all cute with his hat on. We took our picture and got scooted out of the room, that whole night we were legit screaming our heads off! It all began in December when Justin’s crew posted the European tour dates for My World tour. I COULDN’T BELIEVE HE WAS COMING TO MY CITY! I had to wait a few weeks to buy the tickets but I was SO excited. Once I had my tickets, I wanted to join  bieberfever.com  so I could have a chance to win M&G’s. I made everything to win during 5 months; a video  http://youtu.be/PVaprjKoQ0Y  and sent in almost 300 screen shots promoting the fan site over Twitter, Facebook, Koini, Tumblr and more. Finally it was just one more day to see Justin. When I got up to check my e-mail, I saw a message telling me I won M&G passes for Barcelona (04.06.11). I woke up my mom and my dad to tell them. It was weird because I’m not used to cry infront of my parents and I couldn’t believe it because the concert was the next day! I called my BFF to tell her I won and that she will meet Justin too. We both started crying of happiness! Wednesday arrived and I got up at 6am to take a shower and then go to the arena where the concert was. I got there at 8am or so and I stayed in the line for the concert with 6 friends until I was tired of being sitting on the floor and I decided to go for a walk. While walking, I saw someone with a purple hat and I started thinking he was Dan Kanter and he was! Alfredo, Ryan Good, Scooter, Carin and Allison were with him. They were so nice so I asked for a picture with Alfredo and Dan Kanter (even Ryan Good was posing behind Alfredo and me LOL) Then Carin told me to give them some privacy and I did. I couldn’t believe I just saw them all! Scooter is amazing, Ryan is so HOT, Alfredo is so sweet and Dan Kanter is so nice. Then I found Wizard (Justin’s keyboard player) going for a walk so me and two friends went with him touring the city because the arena was close by. When we got back to the arena, I got in the line to the meet & greet and I WAS THE THIRD GROUP! I was shaking, I couldn’t stop thinking what I was going to tell Justin. While waiting for the M&G, Dan Kanter walked next to us playing his guitar with Alfredo, Carin and Bluey Robinson. Half an hour later we were allowed to enter inside. I saw Justin standing with a hot, grey YMCMB hoodie and cool sunglasses. He was perfect. It was the first time I saw him in life. It was my turn and the only thing I could tell him was, “OH MY GOSH JUSTIN OH MY GOSH. Nice to meet you” and he told me “Nice to meet you too”. A few seconds after that, I almost died. He put his hand on my waist and we took our picture. I looked at him again and asked him for a hug. Obviously he said yes and hugged me so hard like he needed support or something.  He smells so good and I didn’t want to leave, but the security guards told me to, so I turned around and saw Alfredo for the third time and Ryan Butler next to him. I called Ryan and he blinked and waved at me. I started crying when I left the meet and greet, I couldn’t stop myself. The concert was amazing. He stopped the show to warn some fans to stop fighting over a towel he threw in the audience before OLLG. He danced La Macarena for us and sang ‘BABY’ with a BARCELONA’S SOCCER TEAM SHIRT. Unbelievable. When the concert finished I cried so much. Everything happened so quickly but I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT I LIVED ON 6th APRIL. For those who are following their dreams, please, NEVER SAY NEVER! – Mireia Link: It all began in December when Justin’s crew posted the…
