Lawsuits: Gucci Mane Sued By Promoters For Being Paid $22,500 And Only Performing For 15 Minutes

Gucci said phuck yo show. Gucci Mane Sued By Concert Promoter 15 minutes? That’s worse than waitng three hours for Rihanna to perform. According to TMZ Gucci Mane tried to pull a fast one and perform two gigs in one night — in two different states — so says the pissed off concert promoter, who’s suing the alleged two-timing rapper. Empire Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Gucci — real name Radric Davis — claiming it paid him $22,500 to perform in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 22nd … but didn’t get their money’s worth. Here’s why: Empire says prior to the gig, a nightclub in Tennessee began advertising a Gucci show for the same night — and says Gucci himself promoted it on Twitter. Empire says it called Gucci’s people — who assured them, no TN gig was happening. But the night of the concert, Empire says it became clear Gucci’s people lied … claiming the rapper only performed 3 songs (15 min of stage time) and then hightailed it 138 miles to perform at the other club. Then drove back to stay in the hotel Empire provided. Empire says Gucci’s 2nd gig torpedoed their ticket sales. The company is suing for breach of contract and fraud. It wants all the cash it spent on his fee, hotel, travel and promotions. Gucci tried to be slick and now he has to cough up those coins….we know Gucci isn’t ballin’ like that. Somewhere Wacka Flocka is laughing. Continue reading

Michelle Duggar on Having 20 Kids: Not For Everyone!

Michelle Duggar, who is pregnant with her 20th child , has made the understatement of all time, saying having that many kids probably isn’t for everyone. Ya think? With 18 of her 19 kids still at home, one on the way and two grandchildren, how does Michelle get any rest? “I am taking a power nap every day,” she says. “And I’m eating a lot of protein and green vegetables and no caffeine, which is a new thing for me,” says the 45-year old star of 19 Kids and Counting . Michelle and husband Jim Bob Duggar, 46, were believed to have stopped their baby making ways after daughter Josie’s life-threatening preeclampsia. Not the case. “I read up a lot on preeclampsia [while pregnant with Josie],” says Michelle , “It is a crazy, random thing. I have been getting counseled from a high-risk pregnancy doctor in Little Rock and taking good care of myself.” The family’s frightening journey with Josie – born at only 25 weeks and weighing just over a pound in 2009 – was documented on 19 Kids and Counting . "Little Rock Nine" Member Jefferson Thomas Has Died at the Age of 67 | Video | Obituaries

“Little Rock Nine” Member Jefferson Thomas Has Died at 67 | Video By the CNN Wire Staff September 6, 2010 1:47 p.m. EDT Jefferson Thomas is one of nine students who integrated Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1957. STORY HIGHLIGHTS * NEW: Other Little Rock Nine members express sadness * NEW: They remember Thomas as being able to keep them laughing * Thomas died of pancreatic cancer on Sunday * He was 15 when he and others integrated Arkansas schools in 1957 PART ONE… (CNN) — Jefferson Thomas, one of the so-called “Little Rock Nine,” the nine students who integrated Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1957, has died, according to Carlotta Walls LaNier, president of the group's foundation. He was 67. Thomas died of pancreatic cancer on Sunday, the Little Rock Nine Foundation said in a statement. He was living in Columbus, Ohio. As a 15-year-old, Thomas was one of the nine African-American students who braved segregationist mobs to integrate the all-white school under the protection of military forces. A retired federal accountant for the Department of Defense, Thomas “had spent the last decade of his life doing community service, traveling to promote racial harmony and supporting young people in seeking higher education,” the foundation said. In 1999, he and the others received a Congressional Gold Medal from President Bill Clinton. “The eight who accompanied Jefferson to Central High all expressed their heartfelt sadness at the passing of the man they called their brother in a unique group for the past 53 years,” the statement said. The nine have remained close, and through their foundation they provided college scholarships and mentoring to students. “I will miss his calculated sense of humor,” said LaNier, another member of the nine. “He had a way of asking a question and ending it with a joke, probably to ease the pain during our teenage years at Central. He was a Christian who sincerely promoted racial harmony and took his responsibilities seriously.” “Jefferson has always been, to us, a brother,” said Melba Pattillo Beals, another one of the nine. “He's funny and very strong, like when we would have a very difficult day, things were absolutely at their worst, he would say, 'Smile, you're on Candid Camera,' or, you know, 'Look at what you're wearing!' He was just really, really funny.” She said Thomas sent other members of the group funny e-mails almost until the day of his death. On September 4, 1957, a national furor erupted as the nine students attempted to enter Central High. Then-Arkansas Gov. Orval Faubus, in defiance of a federal court order desegregating schools, called out the Arkansas National Guard to prevent them from entering. “The nine students, chosen by Little Rock school system administrators for their excellent grades and records of good behavior, were stunned by the presence of hundreds of rioting segregationists and the Arkansas National Guard, the foundation said. The group was turned away. One of the nine, Elizabeth Eckford, said she was confronted by an angry mob of protesters, and directed back out to the street by the guardsmen when she tried to go in the school's front door, according to the Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture, maintained by the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, a department of the Central Arkansas Library System. Eckford said she eventually reached a bench and sat down to wait for a bus to take her to her mother's workplace. “I tried to see a friendly face somewhere in the mob — someone who maybe would help,” she recounted later. “I looked into the face of an old woman and it seemed a kind face, but when I looked at her again, she spat on me.” For two weeks, the group remained at home, attempting to keep up with their schoolwork. The federal court ordered Faubus to stop interfering with the court order, so he removed the guardsmen from the front of the school. On September 23, the nine entered the school for the first time, but an angry crowd outside beat African-American reporters who were covering the events, according to the encyclopedia. Little Rock police, who feared they could not control the mob, pulled the nine from the school that day, and they returned home. CONTINUED… added by: EthicalVegan

Josie Duggar Comes Home to the Family

After a harrowing six months in the NICU, Josie Brooklyn Duggar is home. The 19th child if Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar returned to their busy house last week after being born prematurely and fighting for her life ever since. “It is good to be home,” says a laughing Michelle, who set up shop in Little Rock, Ark. “It is surreal to be here. It was such a long time we were away.” Though the baby was released from Arkansas Children’s Hospital in the state’s capital June 3, her homecoming was delayed because of her siblings. Specifically, the 12 of the Duggar children that contracted the chicken pox and had to be separated from her. That’s some contagious stuff right there. Josie Duggar thus spent three more weeks with her mother in a rental house near the hospital until the other children recovered back home with dad. The Duggars are one big, happy and complete family again . Finally, on June 25, mother and child made the over 200-mile road trip from Little Rock to Tontitown, Ark., where the family lives (somehow debt free). They were met by streamers, hand-made “Welcome Home” banners and 17 of Josie’s siblings (oldest son Josh lives on his own with his wife and baby). The last time Michelle was at the Duggar family’s home, they were decorating for the holidays and looking forward to Josie’s expected birth in the spring. But Michelle’s preeclampsia caused an emergency C-section and a dangerous entry into the world for Josie, who was born December 10 at just one pound. The family, whose lives are chronicled on the TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting , is now settling into a routine with Josie, now a “chunky” 9 lbs., 1 oz. “She has a double chin now,” she says. “It is so precious.” Welcome home, Josie!

Michelle Duggar: Hospitalized, But Alright

Michelle Duggar of TLC’s 18 Kids and Counting (she’s the one who gave birth to 18 kids with one on the way) was hospitalized, but is thankfully doing fine. She was rushed to an Arkansas hospital after a scare regarding her pregnancy with Baby No. 19, not due until spring, but that ultimately wasn’t the reason.
