Nike has dropped its sponsorship of the New England Patriots star wide receiver after allegations that he raped his former personal trainer. According to TMZ , a Nike rep confirmed that AB is “not a Nike athlete.” AB had a player edition shoe with Nike of its Tech Trainer that dropped back in February 2019 but has been wiped from Nike’s site. Brown vehemently denies raping Britney Taylor and maintains that any sexual contact was consensual. Thursday, September 19 marks the 3rd day of testimony for Daniel Hernandez , more commonly known by his stage name, Tekashi 6ix9ine. The previous two days of testimony definitely provided some comedic tidbits from the rapper, but for some reason, the information being released about Thursday’s day in court are especially outrageous and prove that Tekashi isn’t leaving the trolling game anytime soon. One of the most headline-worthy reveals from today’s testimony is the unexpected involvement of Jim Jones . According to reports from TMZ , Tekashi testified that fellow New York rapper Jim Jones is a member of Nine Trey. Prosecutors played a phone conversation between Jones, Shotti and Mel Murda in which they’re all talking about getting revenge on 6ix9ine for snitching, where they make multiple references to Tekashi getting “violated.” After the recording was played, Tekashi identified Jones as a member of the gang. Though that information on it’s own has people scratching their head, how 6ix9ine identified Jones is what really has everyone talking.Before snitching on Jones and admitting that he’s a member of Nine Trey, Tekashi identifies the Bronx native as “a retired rapper.” Jim Jones just released an album in May, so he’s far from retired–which might make this slight from 6ix9ine even more disrespectful than the snitching. Cardi B has also reportedly been roped into this case. During cross examination, the rapper confirmed she was a member of the Bloods when asked if he copied the blueprint to her success by using gang members in his projects, which Tekashi denied. Weeks after unveiling renovated basketball courts in North Philly Meek—whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams —returned to his former elementary school to donate backpacks and school supplies, CBS Philly reported. Blaine Elementary School to provide students with encouraging words and distribute 500 backpacks filled with supplies. This isn’t the first time that he has stepped up to support the youth during the back-to-school season. In the past, he’s hosted several school drives benefiting children in his hometown. Last year, he teamed up with the School District of Philadelphia to donate 6,000 backpacks to underprivileged students. “Growing up in Philly, I’ve watched families struggle to make ends meet and buy basic school supplies for the kids,” he told Billboard in a statement. “Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right now with the right supplies.” Williams’ donation comes at a time where many students and teachers at schools throughout the country need support as financial obstacles have prevented them from being able to purchase essential supplies for school. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. A study conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics revealed that 94 percent of public school teachers have spent some of their own money on school supplies without reimbursement. Nevertheless, we come in contact with them every day from washing to applying our deodorants or anti-perspirants. I had the opportunity to speak with Dove Dermatologist Dr. Alicia Barba to help debunk one of the biggest misconceptions occurring in the beauty and medical world surrounding anti-perspirants. Personally, I started using natural deodorant because I didn’t want to pour any toxins into my body or prevent my body from sweating. I feel like sweating is normal and releasing toxins need to happen. I had hopes but it left me funky and continuously worrying if I was giving off an odor. When you use an anti-perspirant, it prevents your body from sweating. Dr. Barba explained, “Antiperspirants have a clinically active ingredient: aluminum chloride slats. Basically what it does is form a little plug on the pore where the sweat gland drains into. It forms a plug so you don’t have sweat on the surface of the underarm. When you don’t have sweat, then bacteria doesn’t grow.” When bacteria doesn’t grow, then you don’t have that unfavorable odor. Nevertheless, I was worried about cancer. I had heard multiple rumors surrounding breast cancer and anti-perspirants. Dr. Barba educated, “Anti-perspirants have never been proven to cause cancer. They are regulated as an over the counter drug. The FDA regulates these products. It’s not like we can just put whatever in an anti-perspirant. It’s been studied thoroughly and has never been linked.” However, if you are like me, I feel your body is supposed to sweat. If you want this, then just use a deodorant. Dr. Barba explained, “If you don’t have a problem with smell, you can get away with a deodorant.” A deodorant will just leave you fresh smelling but allow your body to sweat. If you’re also like me and despite what the FDA says, still worried about aluminum, you can get a deodorant with 0% aluminum ($5.99, target.com ). There are tons of great smelling anti-perspirants like Dove Dry Spray Go Fresh Antiperspirant Deodorant in Apple and White Tea ($5.58. walmart.com ) – the apple scent is great for Fall!
