However, Tomblin got out of prison in 2014 after being convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon (conspiracy) and breaking and entering, according to state records obtained by BOSSIP. The North Carolina native was convicted the year before for the crimes, which he allegedly committed within days of each other, public records show. He later served fifteen months – the minimum – for the two convictions, which ran concurrently, as well as probation. It’s unclear how Tomblin got on Williams ’ radar, or if the talk show host is aware of her new beau’s criminal past. But we’re told that even though it’s still early days, there are concerns about Tomblin’s motives for being with Williams – and whether her estimated $60 million fortune may be the reason. According to a press release, Chevrolet and the National Newspaper Publishers Association have selected six students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities for the 2019 Discover the Unexpected Journalism Fellowship. With the help of NNPA editors and reporters, the fellows will travel the country to discover and share positive, inspirational and relevant stories from African American communities during their eight-week summer internship. The 2019 DTU Journalism Fellows are Tedarius Abrams (Bethune-Cookman), Tyla Barnes (Hampton University), Elae Hill (North Carolina A&T), Miana Massey (Howard University), Emani Nichols (Morehouse College) and Sharon Joy Washington (Florida A&M). Chevrolet will award each DTU Fellow a $10,000 scholarship and a $5,000 stipend. The students will form two teams of three people, and each team will have access to an all- new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer during their reporting assignments. The annual DTU program has awarded more than $330,000 in scholarships and stipends since 2015. The program started with a select number of schools and, based on the overwhelming response, the online submission process was opened to all HBCU students in their sophomore through senior years with an interest in journalism, communications, mass media or visual arts. Lady Gaga Continues to Fuel Bradley Cooper Dating Rumors

Last week, the world was stunned by reports that Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk had broken up following a four-year relationship. Well, perhaps “stunned” isn’t the right word, considering just about everyone who watched Cooper’s performance with Lady Gaga at this year’s Oscars assumed there was something going on between the A Star Is Born co-stars. There have been widespread attempts to blame Gaga for Cooper and Shayk’s breakup , but all parties involved have refused to even dignify those reports with a response. Nevertheless, the rumor mill continues to churn, and some folks are convinced that Gaga hinted at a romance with Cooper during a performance in Vegas on Tuesday night, Addressing the audience between songs, Gaga said her aesthetic attracted a lot of criticism early in her career, as some of her consultants thought that “everything was too gay.” “I remember saying, ‘Well, I don’t see it that way but there’s also gay people in the world,'” the singer said to great applause. “They told me it wouldn’t work and they tried to change me but I never let them,” Gaga continued. “And you know why? Because I thought they were shallow.” With that, she began to play the opening notes of “Shallow,” her Oscar-winning duet with Cooper. (She performs the song solo during her live shows.) But before launching into the vocals, Gaga added some instructions for her audience and for mankind in general: “Be kind, be kind or f–k off,” she said. Yes, it’s a bit of a stretch, but many believe these comments were Gaga’s way of indirectly addressing the rumors that she’s dating Cooper. But even among those who share that belief, the interpretation of her comments varies wildly. Some say she’s telling the gossip mongers to f–k off and stop suggesting that she and Cooper are anything more than friends. Others believe it’s a loving, coded shout-out to Bradley — a callback to the way his character encouraged hers to pursue her dreams in A Star Is Born. Of course, the most likely explanation is that Gaga simply wished to share an inspirational, pro-LGBT sentiment during a Pride Month performance. But as is always the case, stories stars just being standup folk don’t make for good tabloid fodder. So expect the press to continue dissecting Gaga’s every comment.

Amber Portwood: I Can’t Quit Teen Mom OG! My Fans Love Me Too Much!

Well, the new season of Teen Mom OG is finally here. We say “finally” because it seems the new episodes were highly-anticipated by the show’s dedicated fan base — which appears to be getting smaller by the year. Yes, TMOG ratings have been on the decline ever since Farrah got fired, but don’t tell that to the central cast members. In a recent group interview, the Moms issued ultimatums to their bosses and delivered a veiled threat by revealing that any of them could quit at any time. Of course, when it comes to OG arrogance, none of the original moms can top Amber Portwood, who seems to believe that a large segment of the show’s audience tunes in just to keep up on her exciting life. In the kind of scripted segment that makes up a troubling amount of the show’s runtime these days, Amber revealed that she really, really wanted to quit last year — but she simply couldn’t let her public down. “Last year, everything was falling into place for me — I had an amazing boyfriend [Andrew Glennon], a beautiful son James, and [ex Gary Shirley] and I were finally co-parenting [daughter Leah] better,” she said. “But I struggled with postpartum depression, and people said really negative things about me on the internet, which didn’t help,” Amber added. “I was in a bad place, so I needed to take time for myself.” Amber has talked about her postpartum depression in the past. It’s a serious condition that afflicts many mothers, and we applaud her for speaking out on it. However, we would be remiss if we didn’t point out that Amber constantly complains about being portrayed as the show’s resident villain and then claims she had to resume filming for the sake of her fan base — which appears to be non-existent. “The support of my fans made me change my mind, so I agreed to come back and film,” Portwood stated on Monday. “I really isolated myself the last few months, so I’m finally ready to reconnect with my family.” But if you think Amber came back without a list of demands, you don’t know Amber: “I’m sick and tired of every season being depressed me,” Portwood said. “It makes me really sad the sh-t that people think about me. …I can tell you I get bothered by some of the messages, however, I don’t even read the whole thing anymore.” So Portwood wants to continue filming not for the cushy gig and the six-figure paycheck, but because the public needs her. That said, she wants to be depicted in a way that runs counter to everything “her fans” know about her. Has anyone told these moms that MTV was quite popular before they came along and will likely continue to be afterward? He keeps talking about “they” and those who would hold us back, all in an attempt to boost up those who need it. That has taken him far as others have collaborated with him with no problem. That all came crashing down this weekend when he threw a fit over Tyler The Creator’s album topping his for number one on the Billboard 100. This has confused everyone who thought Khaled would be gracious in his second-place finish. Yet when he released a now-deleted video sending subs at Tyler’s album and then going so far as to sue Billboard over it, he turned into the “they” he has always hated. Now, things have been rectified and his album is actually number one, but that has only made the slander worse. But in Ashley's most recent Instagram photo, fans have spotted something interesting — and potentially alarming. She's wearing a conspicuous band around her left ring finger — a finger usually reserved for engagement rings and wedding bands. Has Ashley found someone new already? Or, worse, are she and Jay trying to make it work yet again? April wasn't the first time that she filed to divorce her cheating husband this year. Last time, she took him back.
