Teen Mom OG is back, folks! And you know what that means — more legal trouble for Ryan Edwards! Monday night's episode depicted Edwards' arrest back in January — the one that landed him behind bars for almost three months. Obviously, we knew from the start that it was a sad situation, but we don't know just how sad it was until last night. The show put the focus on the many people who were let down by Ryan's latest relapse and the ways in which their lives were affected. Here's a quick look at how it all went down: 1. The Family Man After 90 days in rehab, it looked as though Ryan would be content to return to the life of a husband and father. But it wasn’t long before his old restlessness returned. 2. Making Up For Lost Time Ryan’s wife, Mackenzie Standifer, laughed about Ryan forcing her into therapy, but she was clearly happy to have him back — and not just to “change some diapers,” as she jokingly claimed. 3. Mackenzie Making Moves For obvious reasons, Mackenzie was intent on ensuring that Ryan remained sober, and it seems she believed that maintaining a strong connection to both of his sons would be crucial to his efforts to keep clean. 4. Maci In the Middle So even though Ryan is not supposed to have any contact with Maci according to the terms of his restraining order, Mackenzie reached out to his ex to try and re-open the lines of communication. 5. Strict Terms After issuing death threats to Maci’s husband, Ryan was not even supposed to contact her through a third party, but clearly, Bookout shares Standifer’s opinion that it’s crucial he continue to have a relationship with his eldest son. 6. Understandably Frustrated “Technically, he’s not supposed to and I was like, ‘Okay, yeah, sure.’ He said he would like to meet with me,” she explained at one point. View Slideshow
Though reports have said that Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods are repairing their friendship behind Khloe’s back , Kylie’s recent post tells another story. She honored her bestie, Stassie Karanikolaou, on her birthday. But Kylie took things one step further — and threw some cruel shade in the direction of her former friend, Jordyn. Ouch . “Happy birthday to the baddest @stassiebaby,” Kylie Jenner gushed on Instagram. Stassie Karanikolaou turned 22 years old on Sunday, June 9. Kylie followed her opening line with a string of emojis, including birthday horns and red hearts. “9 years Iater,” Kylie remarked. “And you’re still a real one.” Kylie’s affectionate message concluded: “I love you forever and always.” The black and white photo that Kylie selected to accompany her kind words featured Stassie’s butt fairly prominently. But not even that booty pic could distract Kylie’s fans and followers from Kylie’s words. The line about “9 years later” is a clear reference to their enduring friendship, which began when they were just tweens. But “and you’re still a real one” is hard to view as neutral praise in this context. Why? Because everyone has to be thinking about Jordyn’s absence, which means that Kylie may be implying that Jordyn was just a fake friend. Interestingly, Kylie and Stassie happened to be at the same place as their ex-friend over the weekend. Kylie announced to her fans that she was spending a “Bestie birthday weekend” with Stassie. The pair went to West Hollywood’s Bootsy Bellows nightclub, sharing snaps the entire night. Jordyn Woods was also spotted there, though Jordyn for some reason elected to now share any pics, and didn’t show up in any of their photos. Coincidence? A little light stalking of your ex besties? Or does this lend credence to reports that Kylie and Jordyn and mending their shattered friendship, but keeping it hidden from Khloe? As we previously reported, there are whispers that Kylie and Jordyn are very quietly patching things up. “Their relationship is on the road to recovery,” an insider reported just days ago. That said, she’s apparently not rushing things. According to the source: “Kylie knows the separation from Jordyn will help both of them — and Kylie’s family — to heal.” That makes sense — and would explain why they’d avoid any photos together. In the mean time, Jordyn may be in no great hurry to to once again be glued at the hip to Kylie. “Jordyn has been trying to show the world that she isn’t riding on the Jenner-Kardashian coattails any longer,” the insider explained. She wasn’t just besties with Kylie — they were like sisters. She lived in Kylie’s guest house. “And,” the source added. “That she’s doing her own thing and living her life comfortably.” She wants to prove that she can do things on her own, without the aid of her billionaire ex-bestie. We would like to believe that the fractured friendship can be repaired, but we don’t know if ti’s really happening. What we do know is that we hope that Stassie was paying close attention when Kylie suddenly severed all ties with Jordyn. She did it because of Khloe’s temper tantrum. Because Khloe wanted someone safe to blame after she chose to have a baby with a known cheater. Stassie and Kylie may be like sisters, but when the Kardashians talk about “the power of family,” they’re talking about blood relations. One day, Stassie might find herself discarded, blacklisted, and humiliated just like Jordyn was. Enjoy this friendship while it lasts, girl. Dubbed the Live Más Scholarships, the scholarships were created for students with passion, not academic merit or athletic ability. All that the application requires is a 2-minute video describing what they love to do. No essays, test scores or GPA are considered for the awardees. This year after receiving nearly 13,000 applicants, TB’s awarding money to 531 students, over half which are students of color. This is especially important considering the racial disparities in education. According to Brookings , black graduates with bachelor’s degrees owe $7,400 more on average in college loans than their white peers. The Taco Bell Foundation gave out $25,000 worth of Live Más moola, the scholarship’s top prize, to several deserving students including: Dwalyn Bryant a former Taco Bell employee who will use the scholarship to study biomedical health at Penn State, in hopes of becoming a surgeon one day. After her mom was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, she knew that wanted to make an impact in the medical field. Polanco also known as Layleen Xtravaganza, died June 7 at Rikers Island. The New York Post reports that she was found unresponsive in her cell at the Rose M. Singer women’s facility around 2:40 p.m. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful. “Any death in our custody is a tragic loss, and we are looking into how this happened,” a DOC spokesperson told the publication. No further details have been released. The 27-year-old is now the 10th transwoman to be found dead this year. “Pose” actress Indya Moore who grew up with Layleen also spoke on her death and condemned the current administration for not protecting trans lives. “I knew Layleen growing up. I Remember desiring to be beautiful like her. She was cool, and funny too, like all of us she had dreams of escaping poverty and the misery of social ostricisation. She is the 10th trans woman to die this year. Noone knows if it was a murder, or how she died but this is the closest black trans death has ever gotten to me and this is extremely alarming and traumatic,” wrote Indya on Instagram. “As you all know the trans community is extremely small, we feel every loss and we often all know someone who knew somebody murdered. By initiation of the trump administration, the supreme Court is debating RIGHT NOW on whether trans people deserve to be a federally protected demographic, to equal access legal aid, employment, shelter, healthcare, and employment they are hearing our cases on why we deserve human rights. Bushwick Bill , the giant-size figure who, along with fellow Geto Boys Scarface and Willie D kicked down the door for Houston rap to be noticed nationally has reportedly succumbed to pancreatic cancer. He was 52. Tributes have begun pouring in from Scarface to Bun B , Slim Thug, Questlove and more. In May, Bill revealed he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer . He told TMZ and others that he was prepared to fight and ultimately beat the disease. He announced a F*ck Cancer tour that was supposed to kick off Saturday in Dallas, Texas. Born in Jamacia in 1966, Richard Stephen Shaw eventually found his way into the hearts and minds of rap fans under the moniker Bushwick Bill when he joined forces with Scarface and Willie D to form the third and most popular version of the Geto Boys. Bill, having been a Geto Boy since 1984 when J. Prince first started Rap-A-Lot Records, was there for the original incarnation of Raheem, Slim Jukebox, and Sir Rap-A-Lot and then Prince Johnny C, Slim Jukebox, Bushwick Bill, and DJ Ready Red in 1985. A self-proclaimed introvert , Bill often said in interviews that he “never had a big personality” but it came out on stage, often. In June 1991, before the group’s most famous album came one of the more fascinating stories in rap history. After shooting himself in the eye on accident, the incident turned into the landmark album cover for We Can’t Be Stopped . Thus, the legend of Bushwick Bill was born. “I figure keeping it myself is not really helping nobody, and I’m not really afraid of dying because if anyone knows anything about me from [his 1992 song] ‘ Ever So Clear ,’ I died and came back already in June 1991, so I know what it’s like on the other side,” Bill told TMZ in May. He had planned to release three albums to set his children up in lieu of his untimely demise. RELATED: Bushwick Bill Gives Health Update As Geto Boys Reunion Tour Gets Canceled
With Duggar women scheduled to bring a new life into the world this year, the famous family was hit with some news of the opposite kind over the weekend. Some very awful and sad news involving death, that is: Mary Duggar has passed away. The mother of Jim Bob Duggar, Mary was often featured on both 19 Kids and Counting and its ongoing spinoff, Counting On. We’re still waiting to learn details of how and why she died, but it appears to have been a sudden and unexpeted tragedy, simply based on the way various loved ones reacted yesterday on social media. “We are so sad to share that Grandma Duggar (Mary) passed away Sunday afternoon, June 9th, 2019,” a message shared on the family’s official Facebook page reads. “Mary Lester Duggar grew up in Farmington, Arkansas and was married almost 50 years to J.L. (Jimmy Lee) Duggar who preceded her in death…” This post also included the photo and above and continues: Mary found great joy in sharing her love for Jesus and her own story of how at age 15 she asked Christ to forgive her for her sins. It was at that time she committed the rest of her life to live for Him, a commitment she kept with devotion. She loved to share with others how they too could be forgiven of their sins, live a fulfilling life as a Christian, and one day spend eternity in heaven. Mary – who is survived by her daughter, son, 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren – celebrated her final birthday on the same day Jessa Seewald gave birth to her third child . Along with her affect on her family personally, Mary is actually considered responsible for their success professionally as well. She allegedly called several networks in an attempt to gauge interest in airing a TV special about the Duggars many years ago. Wrote Anna Duggar on Instagram in response to this very sad piece of news: Great-Grandma Duggar went to heaven today to be with Jesus! What an awesome woman of faith and such a loving example of God’s love. She was a true soul-winner and loved everyone she met, telling them to turn from sin and trust Jesus for salvation! Miss her soooo much and we cherish each moment we were blessed to spend together! Lots of tears being shed here — grateful for all the prayers! Jill Dillard then chimed in as follows: My heart breaks. My grandma died suddenly today! She was an amazing woman of God and such a great example to so many! Grandma, you are greatly missed by all who knew you! She was a feisty, incredible woman who always took the time to talk about Jesus with everyone she knew! I know she was ready to check outta here and get her new body in heaven before the old one started giving her too much trouble! We miss you so much! Mary Duggar worked as a real estate broker (who owned Good Neighbor Realty) for most of her adult life. She was famous locally for this job, too, known for being the individual who put together the property sale for the John Q. Hammons Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Springdale. We will update this post with more tributes to Mary and more news as it breaks. We send our condolences to the Duggar family at this time. May she rest in peace.
