Herman “Big Daddy” Cain Says He Will Be The GOP Nominee Because Black People Will Vote For Him

Who’s voting for Big Herm??? In a new Iowa mailer, Herman Cain says he believes he will be the 2012 GOP nominee because he’s a descendant of slaves who can garner a large share of the black vote, he didn’t inherit a dime, he has traveled the globe for years, and he’s a believer in Jesus Christ. “The news media and the Republican establishment are stunned!” says the first line of the seven-page mailer. “I am now the front runner in the race for the Republican Presidential campaign and the highly regarded Rasmussen poll shows me defeating President Obama.” But then he asks Iowans to tell him which of the other candidates they’re supporting, saying “there are lots of good folks in the race.” A “poll” asks people to check a box for a candidate among a list of nine in alphabetical order, including Gary Johnson. Cain lists several points on why he thinks he will win the nomination, including that “as a descendent of slaves I can lead the Republican party to victory by garnering a large share of the black vote, something that has not been done since Dwight Eisenhower garnered 41 percent of the black vote in 1956.” Time will tell if Herman Cain becomes the GOP Nominee, but do you agree with his logic here??? Even after he called black people brainwashed?? Source

‘Dancing With The Stars’: David Arquette Gets Cut

Justin Bieber performs his Christmas collabo with Boyz II Men on results show. By Kara Warner Kym Johnson and David Arquette Photo: ABC The field of competing couples on the 13th season of “Dancing With The Stars” was trimmed down to five Tuesday night after David Arquette and partner Kym Johnson were eliminated from the show. Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus, who were the other couple in the bottom two, got to keep their dancing shoes for another go next week. “This has to be a mistake!” Arquette joked when his name was called. “This is my show! I love all the people I got to know and dance with. This whole production is top-notch, and thank you to all the fans!” “I’m going to take a lot away from this experience,” Arquette said in his goodbye video. ” ‘DWTS’ was an experience of a lifetime. You learn things about yourself you never thought possible.” The latest elimination show was as packed with headlining performers as ever. Teen king Justin Bieber kicked off the show with a lively performance of his hit “Never Say Never” and later returned to the dance floor with Boyz II Men to perform their Christmas collaboration “Fa La La” from his just-released holiday album, Under the Mistletoe. Bieber and the Boyz weren’t the only artists to take the “DWTS” stage Tuesday night: Rising star Christina Perri sang “Arms,” while 17-year-old ballerina and cancer survivor Victoria-Rose Viren performed a moving duet in front of Perri. Other fun performances included the encore dance of the night, the honors for which went to Team Paso Doble (Ricki Lake, Rob Kardashian and Hope Solo), who reprised their “powerful” dance to Evanescence’s “Wake Me Up Inside.” Seasoned pro Derek Hough also performed a fun routine with fellow pro Allison Holker. Heading into the eighth week of competition, Lake and Hough are sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard, followed closely by fan favorite J.R. Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff, “dark horse” Rob Kardashian and partner Cheryl Burke, and Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Were you surprised to see David go? Kim Kardashian Divorce Lawsuit: Comedian Explains

Rob Delaney says Kim should ‘reconsider’ Kris Humphries divorce. By Kara Warner Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian Photo: Splash News All this hullabaloo over the news of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ divorce is a little overwhelming. First, there was the announcement, followed by the fan reactions and support from the Kardashian siblings . Now, there’s a lawsuit . That’s right: Concerned citizen/comedian/defender of the sanctity of marriage Rob Delaney explained his logic to MTV News thusly: “I’m suing Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest and E! Entertainment Television and Comcast for perpetrating what we now know to be a hoax, their marriage,” he told MTV News on Tuesday. “It can’t be real. I want them to stay married. I want them to stick it out, so as an incentive, I am suing them for monetary damages — but only $18 million, not a lot. That’s just what she was paid for the wedding episodes themselves.” Delaney said the idea for the lawsuit has been brewing ever since he started seeing advertisements for Kardashian and Humphries’ wedding special on various billboards around Los Angeles. “I would drive to work every day, and I would see the billboards for the wedding, and they were offensive to me, because they weren’t normal billboards; they were these super billboards, where they add extra stuff on and make them larger than normal,” he said. “They’re on these super billboards with them getting ready to get married like it was some royal wedding, and then for them to immediately try and dissolve it 72 days later — they renewed their vows on ‘Ellen’ at day 60! What happened in those 12 days? It must have been bad.” Delaney said he thinks the newlyweds-no-more should make a serious attempt to work out their differences. “I will say, as someone who is married, that you are going to go through periods where you hate your spouse for 12 days — longer,” he said. That’s like a blip, and then you recover, and you figure it out together and figure out what the problem was and you grow, and these things that seem insurmountable and awful, you realize they made you stronger. “I want Kim to be happy,” Delaney insisted. “I don’t hate her. She’s a person who deserves happiness, but you have to fight and work for it. As a married man and a dad and an American, I want to make her reconsider. I don’t want the money. I mean, I’m going to take the money, but I feel like almost anybody would spend it better [than she would].” What do you think about Delaney’s lawsuit? Let us know in the comments! Eminem’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’ Is MTV News’ #9 Song Of 2010

Rihanna collaboration topped the charts and got real, landing it high on our Top 25 songs of the year. By James Montgomery Eminem Photo: John Shearer/ Getty Images Last week, MTV News kicked off our countdown of the Top 25 Songs of 2010, an all-encompassing list that has already included the likes of Rick Ross and Robyn, Lady Gaga and Kanye West , to name just a few. Now, we’re pulling the curtain back on our pick for #9 … Eminem and Rihanna’s massive “Love the Way You Lie,” a song that resonated with both fans and critics alike, mostly because it was unafraid to get unspeakably real. For more than a decade now, Eminem has always operated with a safety net: his Slim Shady alter ego. Slim says and does the kind of things that normal people can’t (or don’t), dealing almost exclusively in wanton acts of violence and/or depravity and never, ever apologizing for any of it. At times, the act has been so convincing that you’re not quite sure if Em is Slim Shady, which is how he’s been able to get away with songs like “Kim” (in which he stuffs his wife in the trunk of his car), “Kill You” (where he rapes his own mother) and even “3 a.m.” (the one where he goes on a pill-addled murder spree). Because of Slim, no matter how brutal or unflinching Eminem’s subject matter, his fans have always been able to laugh it away, even if, deep down inside, that darkness still terrifies them. “That isn’t really Eminem,” the logic goes. “It’s Slim Shady. It’s different. ” But in 2010, Eminem changed things up. He got sober, he got serious and — for the most part — he shelved the Slim Shady character altogether. It was a bold, if not necessary, move, and the end result was Recovery, an album that has wowed critics and fans alike, thanks in no small part to the complete absence of that alter ego. Instead, we all got to see Em as his most honest, his most brutal … and, in the case of “Love the Way You Lie,” his darkest. On the surface, “Lie” is an unblinking, unyielding examination of a relationship gone horribly awry, a rapidly descending tale of two lovers who cannot live without each other, and seem destined to die because of it. It’s a masterwork of unfiltered angst, full of violence (both real and imagined) and threats (or promises), and the fact that it resonated to such a degree with the record-buying public — it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks — is both a testament to its power and more terrifying than a dozen songs about stuffing someone in a trunk. But no matter how you choose to analyze the song and its success, you cannot deny the fact that the song works mostly because it’s so terribly real. When Em screams “Next time/ There will be no next time,” you can’t help but believe that he’s telling the truth, no matter how frightening that may be, and you get the creeping suspicion that he’s actually shouted that threat to someone very close to him at some point in his past. Perhaps even more terrifying is the fact that he follows that line up with “I apologize.” You cannot write a song any better than that, because that’s how this kind of thing happens in real life. And though she might seem an odd choice to sing the hook, Rihanna more than holds her own against Eminem’s bluster. She returns serve, her rage and heartbreak are equally as tangible as his … once again, because you get the feeling (well, or you know for a fact) that she’s been in situations like this before. Sadly, there’s no substitute for experience. “Love the Way You Lie” is about many things, most of which are very bad. But it’s also a testament to Eminem’s courage and willingness to put it all on the line, his gifted skills as a storyteller and his deft ability to turn his gaze inward. For the first time, he sheds Slim Shady and walks the tightrope without the aid of a safety net, a balancing act that’s scarier — and more thrilling — than a dozen ax murders. For better or worse. Where would you place Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie” among the top songs of 2010? Let us know in the comments! MTV News’ Top 25 Songs of 2010 countdown continues. ABC’s Dan Harris Dismisses Tea Party, Hints: ‘Complacency’ Is the Big Risk for ‘Gleeful’ Democrats

ABC’s Dan Harris on Saturday offered some odd spin in the debate over the Tea Party. The weekend Good Morning America co-host argued that “complacency” was the big risk for Democrats “gleeful” over the anti-big government protesters. [MP3 audio here .] Harris announced, “But some Democrats, including some people in the White House, seem to be verging on gleeful when it comes to the rise of the Tea Party, because the logic seems to be, some of these people have said such extreme things in the past, that they’re gonna be easier to beat.” Talking to Democratic strategist Karen Finney, the journalist wondered, ” Is there complacency potentially setting in? ” According to a September 19  Rasmussen tracking poll, the Republicans have a ten point generic ballot lead over the Democrats. So, worrying about the “complacency” of “gleeful” Democrats is certainly an unusual analysis. However, this isn’t the first time Harris has tried to portray the Tea Party movement as bizarre and out of the mainstream. On the September 15, 2009  World News, Harris chided the protesters: “…Some prominent Obama supporters are now saying that it paints a picture of an opposition driven, in part, by a refusal to accept a black President.” A transcript of the September 18 segment, which aired at 8:04am, follows: DAN HARRIS: Let’s stay in Washington now and get some insight from two political pros. Republican Robert Traynham and Democrat Karen Finney. Good morning to both of you. ROBERT TRAYNHAM (REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST): Good morning. KAREN FINNEY (DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST): Good morning. HARRIS: Thanks for getting up early. We appreciate it. Let me start with you, Karen. Is Sarah Palin running? FINNEY: You know, I don’t think so, I think she enjoys being something of a political celebrity, obviously in the primary season, she’s been able to have an influence on the process. And, you know, she seems to enjoy being able to get paid and back candidates without having the accountability of any policy ideas. HARRIS: Robert, is she running? TRAYNHAM: I don’t know the answer to that. And truth be told, I don’t think she knows the answer. But she’s doing everything that she can to possibly can to at least position herself, that if she chooses to run, she has the staff and the resources in place to do so. HARRIS: Well staying with you for a second. If she does run, do you think she can win? TRAYNHAM: In the primaries, I think she could. I mean, look, if you take a look at it, there’s really three states that determine who the Republican nominee is gonna be. Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. When you take a look at the demographics of those states, Sarah Palin has a significant ground force. The real question becomes whether or not she can win in the general. And I’m not sure anyone knows the answer to that question or not. But look, she is a force to be reckoned with, there’s no question about it. HARRIS: Karen, is this a candidate that the Obama White House would like to face or would fear facing? FINNEY: You know, I think Democrats learned a long time ago when they were hoping Ronald Reagan would be the Republican nominee not to try to guess or foreshadow. But look, you know, again, I don’t think Sarah Palin’s seriously running. I think, again, what she’s doing here is trying to stake out a base in the party, which she clearly has. And be, you know, a political player. HARRIS: Robert, while Palin appeared in Iowa, we had this cattle call going on in D.C., which is gonna continue straight through the weekend at the Values Voters Summit. Is there anybody in the field, a large field of potential Republican presidential candidates that stands out to you? TRAYNHAM: Not really. I mean, the only person that pretty much is putting his big toe in the water right now, and arguably could have a chance at this, is Mitch Daniels, the Republican Governor of Iowa- of Indiana. He is someone that definitely strikes me as someone that is a deficit hawk. He is someone that clearly talks the talk of a lot of social conservatives. But truth be told, the field is wide open. We have about a dozen Republican candidates, everyone from Newt Gingrich, to Mitt Romney, possibly Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, Haley Barbour. The field is wide open, and they all recognize that Obama is very vulnerable right now. HARRIS: Karen, there’s so much energy on the right right now. But some Democrats, including some people in the White House, seem to be verging on gleeful when it comes to the rise of the Tea Party, because the logic seems to be, some of these people have said such extreme things in the past, that they’re gonna be easier to beat. Is there complacency potentially setting in? FINNEY: No, I hope not. And I hope we learned our lesson, frankly, from the Massachusetts Senate race. I mean, that was a big wake up call. And I think frankly even Lisa Murkowski’s race should be a big wake up call to anyone who’s an incumbent that you cannot take anything for granted. You’ve got to do the work and show up. That being said, I think what Democrats recognize is that while there’s been so much talk about the enthusiasm gap, what we’ve seen is really Republican enthusiasm folding in against itself. Not necessarily against Democrats, which suggests that during the general election, we don’t know how those Tea Party candidates are going to fair. If Democrats can really turn out the vote, things might turn out a little bit differently than everybody’s predicting. HARRIS: Well Robert, what’s your state of anxiety or lack thereof right now? With the Tea Party, obviously, it was a huge phenomenon during the primaries. The primaries are now over. We’re heading into the general election, are you worried that the Tea Party phenomenon could hurt the party going forward? TRAYNHAM: Well I’m not sure. This is a healthy conversation that the Republicans are having amongst themselves about the heart and soul of the party. You know, I agree with Karen that you should never take anything for granted. And you can look at Arlen Spector, you can look at all the primaries across the country, Bob Bennett in Utah. Obviously, Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. But I disagree with her. This is not really a conversation within the Republican Party, per say, or civil war. This is a- FINNEY: Robert- Robert- TRAYNHAM: Karen- Karen- this is a conversation that the American people are having because take a look at this. The Democrats should be very happy right now that the, the President Obama ended the Iraq war. That comprehensive health care reform has passed. That the Consumer Protection Agency has a new head, and by the way, they’re very, very unhappy right now with the Democratic Party, so the truth be told, there’s some real issues within the President’s party that he needs to address. DAN HARRIS: I’d love to see you two use each other’s names against each other the way you’ve done, but unfortunately, we’ve got to cut this off. I’m gonna do this, however, with Bianna going forward. Bianna.

Shameless: Kathy Griffin Insists Calling Scott Brown’s Daughters ‘Prostitutes’ Was a Fantastic Career Move

Liberal “comedian” Kathy Griffin thinks there is no line of rudeness she can’t cross, including calling the daughters of Sen. Scott Brown “prostitutes.” On Monday’s Joy Behar Show on CNN Headline News, Griffin proclaimed “But yes, whenever a statement is issued against me, I`m in heaven. I feel my next special is half written for me. And then I get to read statements allowed in my live shows which you can go to KathyGriffin.net and see the many, many cities I`ve picked up for my current tour.” Not even Rep. Barney Frank could make her feel bad about it: BEHAR: So you’re really feeling bad about it all? Okay, I mean, when Barney Frank turns on you, one of your gays, you have to start to wonder. GRIFFIN: Hey, the gays, look, there is — that’s — there is a reason that that flag has colors. There’s many levels and colors. There’s not just — I mean, I make the joke about the gays, but there’s many, many kinds of gay people like there are many, many kinds of straight people. And you know, he’s one of my gays. He just doesn’t know it because he doesn`t know, you know, who I am, as usual. Behar had the same conversation with liberal “comedian” Margaret Cho on August 25, but Cho had no idea who Scott Brown was. So Behar told her (incorrectly) that Scott Brown posed for Playgirl magazine — when it was really Cosmopolitan.  BEHAR: And he also introduced his daughters in one speech that he gave saying they’re available and he posed for them in bikinis. They were in bikinis. People felt that they were easy targets and available. But she got into trouble because he didn’t like that she called them prostitutes. CHO: Yes, well, I don’t know. I think she can say whatever she wants. And part of her appeal and her glory is that she does. She doesn`t really care. BEHAR: She doesn’t care, the more you criticize, the more she loves it. This logic of Griffin’s doesn’t always work — CNN did bump her off their New Year’s Eve program as she incessantly tried to embarrass Anderson Cooper.

Feingold On His Tough Re-Election Race: I Blame George Bush!

A recurring rubric at James Taranto’s Best of the Web Today column at the Wall Street Journal online, is “We Blame George W. Bush,” for tongue-in-cheek examples of the former prez being blamed for things palpably beyond his purview.  Let’s add another one to the list.  Dem senator Russ Feingold has blamed his tough re-election race on, yes, W. Let’s think about that. If Bush were such a bad president.  If his policies were so disastrous for the country. Wouldn’t that boost the chances of an incumbent Dem senator who, like Feingold, had voted against Bush policies every step along the way? Hey, I don’t try to understand Dem logic: I just report it.  Feingold made his logic-defying allegation on this evening’s Ed Show. ED SCHULTZ: Even the progressive Russ Feingold is in a real tough fight for his seat in Wisconsin.  Senator Feingold is a progressive—as progressive as you can get— he voted against the Iraq war, he voted against the Patriot Act, he voted against the Wall Street bailouts; all very strong progressive positions. But somehow we’ve gotten to the point where the less a candidate knows about Washington it seems the better off they are, and now Feingold, a guy who has always fought the good liberal fight is up against a candidate who is trying to buy the election so he can go to Washington and extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Senator Russ Feingold joins us tonight, here on the Ed Show. Senator, good to have you with us tonight.  You know, you have been one of the most hard-working guys out there.  You do over 70 town hall meetings a year.  What are you hearing in Wisconsin? And why are you polling below 50%? RUSS FEINGOLD: Well, this is a year of challenges because of the mess that was left us from the Bush years. Wait a second! If Bush were so awful, and you fought Bush every step of the way as Ed documented, wouldn’t that make you a winner in Wisconsin?  Could it possibly be that, now under Obama and a Dem congress, W [to quote those old Cross Your Heart commercials] is looking “suddenly shaplier”?

George Stephanopoulos Defends Ground Zero Mosque: What Better Way to Say Terrorists Haven’t Won?

Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday Defended the building of a mosque near Ground Zero as a monument to tolerance. Talking to conservative radio host Laura Ingraham, he proclaimed, ” This is a country founded on the notion of religious freedom. What better way to say they [the terrorists] haven’t won ?” Ingraham decried the plan for being so close to the site of 9/11 terrorist attack: “And I say the terrorists have won with the way this has gone down. 600 feet from where thousands of our fellow Americans were incinerated in the name of political Islam?” This prompted the ABC co-host to chide, “In the name of militant, radical Islam, not in the name of Islam.” Deborah Norville, a former co-anchor of NBC’s Today, also appeared and strenuously disagreed with Stephanopoulos. Pointing out that a Greek Orthodox Church destroyed on 9/11 has had trouble rebuilding, she contrasted, “And, yet, a mosque, with no presence in the area, has been given the green light by getting the landmark status of this building rejected. A lot of people look at that and go, where are our priorities?” This logic seemed to give Stephanopoulos pause. (His father is a Greek Orthodox priest.) He conceded, “That’s a good point. I’m all for getting St. Nicholas up again. No question about it.” A transcript of the August 4 segment, which aired at 8:12am EDT, follows: GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Time now for our Morning mix, where we tackle the topics everybody is buzzing about. This week, uproar over that decision to build a mosque at Ground Zero. Mommy wars. Should breast feeding be mandatory? One super model thinks so. And why is Sarah Palin is happiest person in Alaska this morning? Levi is out of the picture. Joining me to talk about all this, Fox News contributor, Laura Ingraham. Also, the author of the new, number one New York Times bestseller The Obama Diaries. and Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville. And let me talk about the decision to build a mosque. The clearance came yesterday, Laura. And this has created such passion here in New York City. LAURA INGRAHAM: There’s a disconnect, George, between the elites and the way they think about this. And, I think, most New Yorkers and most of the country. I know Michael Bloomberg was out there saying, our values need to be properly represented to the world. And if this mosque isn’t built, what is that going to say? The terrorists have won. And I say the terrorists have won with the way this has gone down. 600 feet from where thousands of our fellow Americans were incinerated in the name of political Islam? And we’re- and we’re supposed to be- we’re supposed to be considered intolerant if we’re not cheering this? STEPHANOPOULOS: But, what- But, what- In the name of militant, radical Islam, not in the name of Islam. And what better- This is a country founded on the notion of religious freedom. What better way to say they haven’t won? INGRAHAM: We don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I don’t think. DEBORAH NORVILLE: Here’s the point. There is a point, George. There’s a church that was buried when the second tower came down. STEPHANOPOULOS: St. Nicholas Church. A Greek Orthodox church. NORVILLE: St. Nicholas church. A Greek Orthodox church. That church has run into every conceivable impediment. And in nine years that this church, this place of worship has not been able to get the port authority and other agencies to get them the green light to rebuild. And, yet, a mosque, with no presence in the area, has been given the green light by getting the landmark status of this building rejected, a lot of people look at that and go, where are our priorities? STEPHANOPOULOS: [Pauses] That’s a good point. I’m all for getting St. Nicholas up again. No question about it. INGRAHAM: Yeah! Come on, Greek orthodox . But, it’s a finger in the eye, I think, of New York. New York is coming back. You know, we hope. And it’s vibrant, economically. A lot of stuff happening downtown. This is sacred ground. Okay? And I don’t think people across the country are protesting. STEPHANOPOULOS: Ground Zero is sacred ground. The actual Ground Zero. INGRAHAM: This is 600 feet. I think the legitimate question to ask, George, is why? Why do they want to build a $100 million, 15-story mosque, Islamic center? Why? Why there? And no one’s protesting it around the country, building mosques. I don’t think- I don’t think there are big sit ins at mosques. So, I don’t think we’re intolerant. NORVILLE: And here’s another point: There’s no funding for this. This is an idea. But the funding for this, this mosque, this Islamic center, is not in place. They’re going to be going to charities and other agencies. INGRAHAM: Saudi Arabia. NORVILLE: And the people trying to put this up there. Saying, we’re going to be strict about who is allowed to contribute. But, we’ve seen how agencies and organizations that have contributed to causes, that often times are in support of Muslim issues, sometimes later are found to have terrorist connections. STEPHANOPOULOS: And that means this conversation is not going away for a very long time.
