So far, the video posted to YouTube on January 24 has garnered over 6.5 million page views. Writes Pankey of the clip that’s sweeping the nation: “This is a great example of how a bunch of [technology] students let go of their fears, trusted their teacher and got down to Uptown Funk!!!” “I heard the song before Christmas and fell in love with it. We are a project-based school,” he adds, so he gave them this as their assignment! “You put them in teams, and they have to come up with solutions. They had three weeks to work on it, then present as a group what they learned.” The video was shot by a student, walking backwards through hallways and up and down stairs as his classmates did their awesome thing.
