In the dangerous lives of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, when you head to a party, you need backup. That said, we break down last night in our +/- recap! First, back to Pandora’s wedding extravaganza. Wedding planner Kevin was slightly less annoying this week but that may be because we saw so little of him. I will give the man a Plus 10 . He puts together one heck of a lovely table, but does he really need a million dollar budget to pull that off? I don’t think so. From there we head over to Kyle’s where she’s throwing a party to celebrate both Cinco de Mayo and mother-in-law Estelle’s new face. Only in Beverly Hills can the two be combined and no one thinks twice about it.

Lauren Scruggs, a model and celebrity fashion blogger, suffered severe injuries after she accidentally walked into a spinning airplane propeller in Texas on Saturday. Scruggs, 23, who runs the fashion blog LOLO and worked in the wardrobe department of Gossip Girl , was climbing out of a two-seater plane in McKinney, Tex. She lost her left hand in the accident and suffered major injuries to her face as well. The hand was amputated by surgeons and the FAA is investigating further. Lauren Scruggs and Chace Crawford “Struck on the left side of her body, Lauren’s hand, head, and shoulder area were hit,” a family spokesperson who posted on the website Caring Bridge said. “After exiting a propeller plane, an accident occurred where she walked into the front of the prop,” the post reads . “Lauren’s surgery went very well this morning.” “She is now resting in ICU with the family. She is able to open her right eye to see while her left eye is still bandaged. Please continue to pray for the vision of her left eye, as we will not know the status of her sight for some time.” She was flying around the state to look at Christmas lights. We wish her the best and hope that she’s able to recover from this as fully and quickly as possible.

Karina Smirnoff and Brad Penny have called off their engagement. The Dancing With the Stars pro, 30, and the Major League Baseball pitcher, 33, have gone their separate ways after more than two years together, E! confirms . “They’re just different people,” a source says of the pair, who began dating in October ’09 after they first met through former DWTS contestant Chuck Lidell. There have been signs of potential problems for months now. Smirnoff said she decided to postpone her January 2012 wedding to focus on DWTS, even as she praised Brad as a man who supports and loves her unconditionally. Yet during her emotional run to Karina’s first Dancing With the Stars title with partner J.R. Martinez , she never referred to Penny nor was he spotted in the audience. Karina was also engaged to co-star Maksim Chmerkovskiy before meeting Penny. No reason was given for this split, but we wish them the best in this difficult time.

NFL star Rolando McClain was charged with four crimes Thursday following a dustup in his hometown, but it’s a photo of him being taken into custody that is truly noteworthy. Visiting his hometown of Decatur, Ala., the Oakland Raiders linebacker got popped after police say he held a gun to another man’s head then fired it beside his ear. Looks like somebody had a good laugh about it at least … Police said the victim suffered injuries to his head and face during a fight with another man (who was also arrested) and that he begged McClain not to shoot him. The former Alabama star obliged and fired it inches from his head instead. McClain was charged with third-degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment, and discharging a firearm within city limits … while in town for his grandpa’s funeral. All things that make a man smile ear-to-ear apparently.
