Remember that whole Olympic spirit thing? Someone should tell Hope Solo about it. The U.S. Soccer Team’s starting goalie may have been responsible for a shutout against against Colombia yesterday, but the former Dancing with the Stars contestant didn’t celebrate much afterward. She slammed former World Cup hero Brandi Chastain instead. Displeased with Chastain’s analysis as an announcer, specifically her criticism of defender Rachel Buehler, Solo went off on a multiple-part Twitter rant against the retired player: “Its 2 bad we cant have commentators who better represents the team&knows more about the game.” “Lay off commentating about defending and gking until you get more educated @brandichastain the game has changed from a decade ago. “I feel bad 4 our fans that have 2 push mute.” Chastain is best known for nailing the World Cup-winning shootout kick against China in 1999. She’s played in 192 international teams for her country and did not respond to these taunts. Solo, meanwhile, is unafraid to speak her mind. Well, this is no fun. Billed as the biggest individual rivalry at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte are being all… classy with each other. Don’t they know this is a competition?!? Not long after Lochte won the Gold Medal in the 400 IM today, Phelps – who did not finish in the top three in that event for the first time since 2000 – sent a congratulatory Tweet to his countryman, writing: Congrats to @ryanlochte … Way to keep that title in the country where it belongs!! The winner then replied: Thanks @MichaelPhelps I couldn’t do it with out you. #USA Phelps has six more events in front of him and needs two medals to set the all-time Olympic mark. But this race belonged to his rival. “This is my year,” Lochte said after earning Gold. “I know it and I feel it, because I’ve put in hard work. By Kara Warner Lindsay Lohan Photo: FilmMagic Although Lindsay Lohan has been making strides toward re-entering the acting game and leaving her problem-plagued past behind, she took a minor step backward Wednesday (April 25) when she reportedly arrived late to film her upcoming cameo on “Glee.” According to TMZ , Lohan arrived late on set after she was spotted out on the town in Los Angeles in the wee hours of the morning. Actress Dot-Marie Jones, who plays Coach Beiste, apparently let the cat out of the bag when she tweeted about an unidentified person’s tardiness causing delays in filming. Jones’ tweet has since been deleted, but TMZ snagged a copy of it beforehand. “Gonna be a long day!! Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things,” Jones reportedly tweeted. “Not cool! I’d rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late!” A source connected to the production assured the gossip site that Lohan’s late arrival did not cause any delays. Apparently, Lohan filmed her big scenes the day before and was on hand Wednesday to shoot reaction scenes. Director Eric Stoltz was quoted saying that Lohan has been “very professional” during her time on set, nailed all her lines and was very polite to the cast and crew. Lohan is said to be playing herself as one of three judges at the national choir competition. Her episode is slated to air sometime in May. After her stint on “Glee,” the former Disney star will tackle the role of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime TV movie “Liz and Dick,” an opportunity Lohan has called an honor. “I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor,” Lohan said in the statement. “She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well.
