Who knows. Before you even ask, that’s our answer. Why exactly Lady Gaga swung by the Ecuadorian embassy in London for some QT with embattled WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, only she can say. All we can say is this is the most random pic ever: Apparently, Mother Monster was in London for a “personal appearance and tea party” to promote her new perfume Fame. Singer/rapper MIA caught wind of this. MIA tweeted at Gaga on Sunday night, “if ur at harrods today, come visit Assange at the Ecuador embassy across the st. im there. ill bring TEA and CAKE.” Fast forward 24 hours and the Lady had posted the above photo. Who knows what the two of them talked about, or if MIA was actually there. Perhaps they discussed her (indirect) role in bringing WikiLeaks to prominence? You may recall that famous whistleblower Bradley Manning referenced her in describing how he copied thousands of classified documents from U.S. Army servers. “I would come in with music on a CD-RW labelled with something like ‘Lady Gaga’ … erase the music … then write a compressed split file,” Manning recalled. “No one suspected a thing … [I] listened and lip-synched to Lady Gaga’s Telephone while exfiltrating possibly the largest data spillage in American history.” Hmm. Perhaps this sheds new light on why Lady Gaga vomited on stage in Spain. She’s an enemy of the state and the powers that be are poisoning her! Since June, the 41-year-old Assange has been inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he has since been granted diplomatic asylum. The British government intends to extradite Assange to Sweden under an arrest warrant for sexual assault once he leaves the embassy. Assange says he fears that may result in his subsequent extradition to the United States of America to face charges over the leak of the military documents.
Perhaps all of the hoopla surrounding the upcoming James Bond installment Skyfall has created a bubble for all things 007 or this little piece of pop culture is really worth the thousands it recently fetched from its lucky buyer. The swimming trunks Daniel Craig wore as Bond in his first stint as the sexy agent in Casino Royale sold at auction for almost $72,000 at a charity auction in London. Judi Dench ‘s comments on the cleanliness of the shorts may have also triggered a jump in the price. Dench, who has played Bond’s boss M in the series and continues in the role in the upcoming latest installment Skyfall introduced the suit at the auction. She noted – apparently jokingly, “All I’m going to tell you is they’re unwashed.” Also sold was an Aston Martin DBS that Craig drove in Quantum of Solace , which the gavel his for $390,000. And a copy of the orchestral score to singer Adele’s theme song for Skyfall , which she signed along with co-writer Paul Epworth sold for $22,000. Altogether, 50 pieces of James Bond memorabilia sold at Christie’s on Friday in London, marking the 50th anniversary of the first Bond movie, Dr. No . The money raised went to several charities. Meanwhile, the anticipated song is set to a new trailer of the film that was recently released (below). Skyfall which also stars Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem opens in the U.S. November 9th. My name is Ellie, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Liverpool, UK. From the moment I saw Justin, I’ve always been a belieber. I cannot imagine my life without him, he is honestly my everything. My friends and I found out that Justin would be in the UK doing a book signing on the 12th of September 2012. We knew that this was too much of an opportunity to miss. The day the wristbands to meet Justin came on sale, we weren’t quick enough so we didn’t get one, we were SO upset. We knew that we had to travel to London no matter what because we were willing to do ANYTHING to meet Justin. On Wednesday the 12th of September, my friends Michka, Jessie, Beth, Matthew and I traveled 6 hours to London; not knowing where to go or what we were going to do when we got there. On that day it felt as though everything was going wrong. First we missed our train, so we had to get the train to Birmingham and then another train to London. By this point we had no hope that we was going to meet Justin. My friend texted me telling me that he was staying at the Langham Hotel. We got so excited starting to believe that we’d meet him. We got to London and as soon as we got off the train, we got the tube straight to the hotel. We basically ran around London asking every person we saw for directions. There was about 50 fans at the hotel at the time so we stood behind the barrier waiting. After not long of waiting, Dan Kanter came out of the hotel (which for us confirmed that Justin was actually in there!) We had bought Dan a present which was a guitar keyring with the UK flag on it. We screamed, “Dan we have got you a present” and he walked straight over thanking us for it, he is super cute. After waiting a little longer, Moshe walked out of the hotel, followed by Kenny, Alfredo and Justin. We all went crazy, screaming and some fans ran around the barrier and ran at Justin, he looked so scared! My friend Michka asked him for a hug and he said, “Only if you get behind the barrier”. Justin ran back in the hotel which made me think that we weren’t going to meet him. I was so angry at the people who ruined it for everyone else by literally attacking him. Kenny came out and made sure we were all calm and behind the barrier. We promised Kenny that we’d stay behind it. Justin came back out of the hotel, walking straight over to us. Everything around me just froze, I was just focused on Justin, it was like a dream. I literally could not believe what was happening. Through all the years I have spent supporting and loving Justin, the one thing I have wanted to do most is hug him. He came along to each person and got a picture with everyone. He went to my friend Kerris, then my friend Michka and I knew I was next. My heart was pounding so fast. I knew that I had to control myself or I would ruin it and regret it for the rest of my life. Just before Justin got to me, Alfredo was standing in front of me, I shouted him and he turned around and looked at me. I had bought him Oreos so I gave them to him and he gave me the cutest smile and said, “Awwwww thank you.” As Justin came to me, the first thing I did was lean over the barrier with my arms out and hug him. He was so delicate and fragile, I felt like he was going to break. We got a picture and all I kept saying was, “I love you Justin.” He looked right in my eyes and gave me the biggest, most cutest smile I have ever seen. I just broke down in tears. As he was getting a picture with my friend Beth next to me, I just had the urge to stroke his hair, so I did . It was so soft. It was honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me, I’ll never fully believe that it actually happened. After Justin got pictures with everyone else, he got in his car and drove away. Me and my two friends Michka and Jessie chased the car for miles before eventually giving up. We were all so so happy and could not stop crying. Then we were told that Justin’s next destination was Maida Vale Studios which was quite far away but we didn’t care. We ran to the tube station and got the next tube there. When we got there, there was about 30 fans outside so we knew for sure he was in there. We waited for a few hours and then Dan Kanter came out again and we met him and asked him if he liked the present we had gave to him earlier. He said, “Yes thank you very much.” After hours of waiting, we heard screaming coming from another exit of the studios so we ran as fast as we could to get there. We saw Justin but only very quickly as he rushed into his car. We saw Kenny and Allison and told Kenny that we had no wristbands for the signing. He told us just to go down there anyway . We got a taxi to the Camden Centre where the signing would be taken place. My friend Beth and Kerris had a wristband for the signing so we were going to go down with them anyway. We went around the back of the building where we then saw Alfredo (who blew a kiss to us) and Kenny. Kenny came out of the building and got attacked by so many fans. As I was at the front of the fans, I was also getting attacked by people trying to get to Kenny. He then pulled out a few wristbands to get into the signing. My heart dropped when I seen them because I knew if I got one, I would be meeting Justin again. I had people pulling me back by my hair, some people pulling me by my shoulders just to get to Kenny. Kenny looked down at me and told everyone to get off me! When they did, he looked at me and smiled and gave me a wristband! I cant even explain how I felt. I just broke down in tears thanking Kenny and screaming. I ran straight over to my friend Kerris who had a wristband and was just hugging her in tears. I couldn’t believe I was going to meet Justin for the second time in ONE DAY. When we got inside the signing, I was given a copy of Justin’s new book ‘Just Getting Started.’ We walked up the steps of the stage and saw Justin and Alfredo sitting at a table, meeting fans and signing books. Kenny was standing to my right. As I got to him, I said, “Kenny thank you so much for giving me a wristband.” He put his arm around me and said, “No problem, no problem, it’s okay” and then told me to stop crying and that I was supposed to be happy. I wiped my tears and told him that I was happy. As I got to the table, I gave Justin my book, he signed it and looked up and me. I can’t even explain how it feels to have Justin look right at you, it’s the best feeling ever. He grabbed hold of my hand and I said, “I love you so much.” He smiled and said, “Nooo…I love YOU so much.” I kept hold of his hands and then burst out into tears. When I got out, I saw my friends and we were all just hugging and crying. It was honestly the best day of my entire life. I have never been so happy. I’m so grateful for everything thats happened to me and hope that every belieber gets to experience something amazing with Justin just like I did. I’ve also got third row tickets for Believe tour which I’m so unbelievably excited about OH MY GOD. Thank you for reading my Bieber experience. -Ellie @ jbieberisahero The rest is here: My name is Ellie, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Liverpool, UK….

Onetime Bond girl Carey Lowell and Bond villain Robert Davi — respectively, Pam Bouvier and Franz Sanchez from Licence to Kill — were among the celebrities who came out to celebrate the 50th anniversary of James Bond at the EPIX and Vanity Fair -hosted premiere of Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 on Wednesday night in New York. Mr. Big was also there — not Yaphet Kotto from Live and Let Die , but rather Chris Noth from another die-hard franchise, Sex and the City . “In the history of cinema, there is no experience like a Bond film,” Davi declared at the Museum of Modern Art, where the documentary screened. The film’s director Stevan Riley explained that his motivation for making Everything or Nothing was his interest in answering the question: “How did Bond last these 50 years? No other film series has managed to do that. Not continuously, for sure.” (TV viewers can learn the answers Riley uncovered when the documentary premieres on EPIX on Friday, which has been dubbed Global James Bond Day in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the theatrical premiere of the first Bond film, Dr. No , in 1962.) Movieline had its own secret agenda for being there of course, and through the evening, which continued at the very Upper East Side Metropolitan Club, I asked guests a series of Bond-related questions. Here are their answers. What wisdom or life lessons have you picked up from the James Bond movies? Chris Noth , actor (pictured left): ” Always be careful when you go to sleep that there’s not a tarantula under your pillow.” Carey Lowell , actress, former Bond girl: “Always put your shoulders back and carry a gun on your thigh.” Chace Crawford , actor: “I learned how to carry the Walther PPK with a silencer on it. You always have to have a silencer, apparently. [Laughs] No, I learned how to make a martini. I can make a Vesper Martini and a dirty martini very well.” Robert Buckley , actor: “You always look infinitely better in a suit. People will think you’re much more interesting and charming when you have an accent. And, if you’re going to walk out of the ocean in slow motion, do it in short shorts.” Fern Mallis, fashion and design consultant: “Absolutely everyone is replaceable. Even James Bond.” Kate Upton , model and actress: [Laughs] “What life lessons?” Gloria Reuben , actress and singer: “How to ski down a hill while looking fantastic.” Theophilus London , rapper: “Just be super smooth, be quiet and you’ll get all the babes.” Cameron Winklevoss , entrepreneur: “If you have an accent, a fast car and a great suit, you can do just about anything.” Carlos Campos , fashion designer: “Never give up!” Nary Manivong , fashion designer: “There’s always a mission.” Chace Crawford Who’s your favorite Bond girl? Chris Noth: “Ursula Andress, because she’s gorgeous ! She came out of the water like a mermaid.” Chace Crawford: “There are so many good ones! Octopussy . It was the first one I saw. And [the girl in] Goldfinger . Damn . I did like Eva Green, too.” Robert Buckley: “Halle Berry. I suddenly stopped caring about the nuclear weapon and just cared about what she was doing in that movie. I lost focus. I was like, James who ? That is a Bond girl.” Jeffrey Wright , actor: “Ursula Andress is tough to beat. Grace Jones is sort of an unorthodox Bond girl. She wasn’t exactly a Bond girl, more of a villainess. Eva Green I thought was stunning and breathed a new type of life into it and a new type of intelligence into it. But, I’m not going to restrict myself in that regard. I’ll enjoy them all.” Carey Lowell Who’s your favorite Bond villain? Robert Davi , actor and former Bond villain: “I’m considered one of the top five Bond villains. I think there are 22 films. That’s pretty damn good.” Stevan Riley , director of Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 : “Everyone loves Goldfinger and [Ernst Stavro] Blofeld’s character Donald Pleasance. You know, I really like Mads Mikkelsen’s portrayal of Le Chiffre in Casino Royale .” Carey Lowell: ” The villains kind of come and go. I just remember James Bond. And Daniel Craig is a very good Bond. Sexy and skilled, shall we say.” Shaken, Stirred… or Heineken? Robert Davi: “Jack Daniels. Two fingers of Jack, ice cubes, the rest water.” Jeffrey Wright: “Preferably not a shaken or stirred Heineken . You can’t beat a nice Bond Vesper Martini. Hilary Saltzman , daughter of Bond film producer Harry Saltzman: “Shaken, stirred.” Nell Alk is an arts and entertainment writer and reporter based in New York City. On the 12th September 2012 my dream finally came true and I met Justin Bieber. For the last 3 and a half years I have been supporting Justin, but somehow I just never got the chance to meet him. We did try. We went everywhere, we slept outside his hotels, we camped for days just to try and see him but nothing ever happened. Then about 3 weeks ago there was a rumor going around that Justin was doing a UK book signing. My friends and I were like freaking out cause we seriously needed wristbands. Then WHSmith tweeted they were going on sale the next day at 10. When the wristbands went on sale, my computer froze and yeah.. I was crying and freaking out. At about 11am my best friend called me and was crying because she managed to get 2 wristbands. I was so happy! The day came and we live 4 hours away from London so we had to get the coach down there, it took like 5 hours. We were freaking out because we were so happy. We finally arrived in London and my other friends were lost so we had to go and meet them but luckily we found out Justin was staying like 30 seconds from there. We found his hotel and then we were standing outside for hours. We met some amazing people outside, you know who you are girls woo! Kenny comes out and was calming everyone down, then suddenly Justin just comes out like telling everyone to stay behind the barrier but no-one did so he went back inside. Then take 2. Justin came out again and then everyone stayed behind the barrier and listened. He came over to our side first. I was like “Hi Justin can I have a picture please?” He put his arm round my waist and we took a picture. Then his car went and we chased after it for like 10 minutes, it was so funny! He was like waving to us and stuff. Then it was time to go to the book signing. We found the secret location and we queued for another couple of hours. Finally we were going in. I saw Kenny again and I had a chat with him (I love this man so much, he’s so kind seriously) Then I’m walking up to the table where Justin was and he did this massive smile. He was like “Hey,” so then I said “You have done so much for my over the past 3 years.” Then he was like, “Thank you so much I love you” and then winked at me. I ALMOST DIED! Then he gave me my book and I just cried so much after that. It was definitely the best day of life. I never ever ever thought in a million years the would happen but ‘Never say never’ for real, I stick by that. Dreams do come true. -@BecciBieber1 See the article here: On the 12th September 2012 my dream finally came true and I met…
I met Justin when he was in London, outside of his hotel on the 12th of September with my friends Charlee, Carly, and Lexiee. I met them in April outside Justin’s hotel. We had heard some rumors on Twitter that he was staying at the Langham Hotel. I had stayed up all night trying to find out where he was, I even got my mum to search! Even though I had a wristband to the signing that day, I had a feeling that we would all meet him. After around half an hour of waiting, Dan Kanter came out. We were so happy, we knew Justin was staying there. Just over 2 hours later Justin came out. We had met some other beliebers there and some crazy girl literally ran towards him and gave him a onesie (which I thought was pretty funny, it hand penguins all over it). Kenny came out of the hotel and said that if we got behind the barrier, Justin would speak to every single one of us. As much as we were all excited, we did what Kenny said despite some angry paps climbing over. Justin did as he promised and took pictures with us all. He dropped my iPhone though so my picture is really messed but I found one of us on the internet. Justin went to go get in his car but my friends and I had made a really epic scrapbook and we wanted to give it to him. My friend Carly grabbed it and threw it into Justin’s car. It accidentally hit Alfredo and we yelled sorry! I kind of suffer from depression and I do self harm, but Justin saw it at his hotel and he gave me a hug and made me promise him to never self harm again. But like I said, I had a wristband for his signing and I waited hours till it was my turn to meet him! As I walked up to the table trying not to cry, he just looked at me and said, “You still promise me don’t you?” I nodded and he said, “I want to speak to you in private go sit over there” He was pointing to this chair so I sat there trying to get over that fact that he recognized me. Then Moshe came over and he didn’t believe me when I told him what Justin said, so then I got asked to leave. I just did what he said, the last thing I wanted to do was make a scene and ruin other people’s chance to meet Justin. The next day I knew Justin was recording “Jonathan Ross Show” so we went to the studios and he came out! We had bought him some really British stuff. I was trying to give him the gifts and he took the crisps and said thank you but then he started to do the Macarena at the window. He came out once again and held his pinky out. I said promise. He then took with some more fans. He went inside to record, I had figured he wouldn’t come out again so we went round the front and at about 9pm his car came, per usual it was chaos. I was running along with his car till we got to Waterloo and that’s a good 10-15min walk from the studios! I was so emotional and tired, I just went straight home but I just wanted to say thank you Justin. -@ Londonbeliebah More here: I met Justin when he was in London, outside of his hotel on the…
