The first minute of this wedding footage is very sweet, but pretty much boilerplate and entirely what you’d expect … until then the music suddenly changes. You’ve gotta hand it to the beautiful bride and her father for choreographing this dance medley, as well as for some of their song selections. Funny stuff. Watch and roar along with the crowd below: Father-Daughter Wedding Dance Medley
The Internet may be a “wicked little liar,” to use Russell Brand’s words, a great deal of the time. But apparently not in this sad case. He’s divorcing Katy Perry. Just 24 hours after Russell was spotted sans wedding ring in London, with Katy 7,000 miles away with friends in Hawaii, the actor filed the papers this afternoon. Brand personally confirmed the news, saying in a statement: “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.” Brand cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split in the official divorce documents, filed in Los Angeles Friday. The couple married October 23, 2010. The documents list “community property assets,” which may indicate a lack of prenup, or one that does not account for all their earnings and other assets. The news is surprising and yet not, given recent reports that the couple had been having problems and spending time apart, possibly following a massive fight . He does not list a date the couple separated, but TMZ reports that Russell Brand may have blindsided Katy Perry by filing the divorce petition. Stay tuned. [Photo: WENN.com]
Uh-oh! Via People.com : Katy Perry was spotted in Hawaii before Christmas without her wedding ring, which could be explained by the fact she was jumping around in the surf. But then husband Russell Brand stepped out on a London street Thursday, also without his wedding band. Now, a drumbeat of rumors about marital woes has grown only louder in the United States and the U.K. amid reports the couple spent the holidays apart. Their usually active Twitter pages have been silent on the issue, and their reps have not commented. Perry, 27, and Brand, 36 , who were wed in October 2010 in India, laughed off reports of problems earlier this month, with Brand telling Ellen DeGeneres, “I am really happily married.” Yeah. It’s probably a wrap. SMH.
As she strolled to and from church services Sunday, Kate Middleton’s Christmas fashion turned heads as expected – but not just for her magenta hat and coat. Adding some holiday sparkle to her already fashionable display was a pair of stunning earrings just visible underneath the Duchess’ (Jane Corbett designed) hat. They are from Kiki McDonough, and were bought from the designer’s store in London, England. Retail price: $3,000. A Christmas gift from Prince William, perhaps? The designer, who also made jewelry for Prince William’s mother Diana, Princess of Wales, didn’t want to comment at length but confirmed the pieces are hers – and that the stones consist of “green amethysts surrounded by diamonds on a diamond hoop.” It’s not the first time Kate has worn McDonough’s jewelry, either. She has two other pairs of earrings from the store: pear shaped citrines hanging from an 18-carat gold hoops and white topaz studs surrounded by diamonds. The 29-year-old Kate Middleton wore them both on her summer tour trip to Canada and America. All pieces are from the aptly-named “Grace collection.” She looks wonderful in them, no? Behind-the-scenes clip shows singer in London with a blond bob and gold grill. By James Dinh Rihanna in her “You Da One” teaser Photo: Def Jam Even though “We Found Love” is still ruling the charts, Rihanna is gearing up for the release of her second Talk That Talk single, “You Da One,” by releasing a behind-the-scenes teaser for the Melina Matsoukas-directed clip. In the two-minute montage , the RihannaNavy get several glimpses at a blond-bobbed Rih with a fitted gold grill and a slew of outfit changes. For one of her ensembles, the pop titan dons a gold chain necklace and midriff-baring two-piece as she grinds up against a checkered wall with life-size playing cards nearby. Another scene finds the singer in a white tank top and tattered jean shorts, swinging a cane in between two brick buildings. “We’re in London town!” the chart-topper tells the cameraman while the Dr. Luke-produced track plays in the background. “We tried to shoot our first setup outside, but it started to rain really, really hard. Then it stopped after we had to switch setups. … I’m running on one hour of sleep. I’m not even going to remember this tomorrow. My eyes are burning a little bit.” Rihanna has been dropping teasers for the “You Da One” visual for some time now. Two weeks ago, she released a clip of herself getting fitted for her grill. And just a few days ago, the singer took to Twitter to share another still, which depicted the star topless, leaning back and blowing smoke into the air . “#YOUDAONEVIDEO you know im already in trouble 4 this but, i like to keep yall in the loop,” she wrote. Fans can also expect to be kept in the loop about the video for “Take Care,” Rihanna’s collabo with Drake . MTV News recently caught up with Drizzy, who shared his expectations for the video for the Jamie xx-produced song, saying, “I want to make it perfect — the best video I’ve done to date — so I’m just taking my time.” Are you excited for Rihanna’s “You Da One” video? The-Dream has always been a producer in high demand, but after creating hits for both Beyonce (“Single Ladies”) and Ciara (“Ride”), he’ll only be working with one woman again on her next album. After writing and producing 7 (out of 11) songs on Ciara’s flop “Basic Instinct,” her fans attacked him on Twitter, believing him to be the reason for its failure. It seems he’s learned his lesson because when a follower recently asked if they’d be working together again, The-Dream replied : “Sorry but no I won’t be on this album because my contract doesn’t allow me to. I’m sure her fans are happy about that.” However, when it comes to Beyonce, he’s more than able and willing. He told Boombox : “”She’s ready to work. She’s crazy! She never stops doing anything. I don’t know if [pregnancy] is going to slow her down. She’s just incredible with doing things, I don’t know how she’s going to do it, she’s just a maniac… in a good way.” Which collabo would you look forward to? Let’s discuss the newest trailer in the latest edition of The Weekly Rising. By Kevin P. Sullivan Christian Bale in “The Dark Knight Rises” Photo: Jared Wickerham/ Getty Images If you went to see “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” this weekend and you weren’t lucky enough to see the prologue for “The Dark Knight Rises,” you were lucky enough to see the second trailer. And it was a hell of a trailer! Nothing sets the tone like a young boy singing the national anthem, and tone is what the trailer really nails. When you walk away from it, the one idea that lingers is that some bad stuff is going down in Gotham. This new trailer shares that, among other things, in common with the first. It also begins quietly, just like the teaser. Alfred worries about Bruce, and he probably should. It’s been eight years, and not much is good in the city of Gotham. Gordon sits on the chopping block as the city’s police commissioner, even though he let his wife think he died to protect the city. That should be mentioned in his performance review. Selina Kyle plays a much bigger role than we have yet seen. Appropriately, she shows up at a beautifully shot masquerade ball and doesn’t bring good news with her. “A storm is coming, Mr. Wayne,” she warns. “And you and your friends better batten down the hatches.” Her role in all of this still hangs in the balance. Will she be a full-on antagonist for Batman or will she toe the line? She did do Bruce the courtesy of warning him about the storm, so maybe it’s more ambiguous than good guy vs. bad guy. She’s motivated by an idea, along the lines of what got Bruce started in the first place, so that may be the bond that connects them. What that motivating idea is has yet to be disclosed, but she comes off in the trailer sounding like an advocate for the little man. Bane, on the other hand, has no ambiguity to speak of. Between the prologue and the second trailer, we finally get a better idea of what to expect from the masked man. I love his entrance into the football stadium. Then the final punch lands firmly with one of the greatest trailer moments in years. Watching the football field crumble in near silence automatically qualifies that scene as one of the best of 2012. Other films have done similar stunts, but not with such an assured hand, so consider me on-board with Bane’s supposed earthquake machine. Admittedly, it sounded too hokey for Nolan’s Batman movies, but no one can deny the awesomeness of that football scene. Both the prologue and the new trailer prove that the talk in last month’s Empire wasn’t just talk. In just the two short clips, Nolan has established Bane’s presence and a solid argument for him as the choice for the “Rises” villain. He’s big, bad and calculated. Instead of trying to overshoot Heath Ledger’s Joker, Nolan and Tom Hardy are aiming in the opposite direction. If a trailer does its job, we should be left with an idea of what the film will be like without knowing every single story beat. That’s where the trailer succeeds the most. While the stadium lets us know exactly what happens in that moment, we don’t know why Bane does it. We know that he frees and arms prisoners, but for what purpose? Miranda Tate shows up, but we’re still not sure what evil thing — because let’s be honest — she’ll be doing later in the film. Selina Kyle has an agenda, but who’s to say what it is just yet?
