Ronnie James Dio Died From Gastric Cancer

Lead vocals of Dio band Ronnie James Dio, an American songwriter, died last Sunday after his battle against gastric cancer. According to his wife and manager Wendy Dio, the singer died at 7:45 in the morning. “Today my heart is broken,” Wendy Dio wrote on the singer’s site . “Many, many friends and family were able to say their private goodbyes before he peacefully passed away. “Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all,” she continued. “We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us … Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.” The statement was confirmed by publicist Maureen O’Connor, who said Dio died in Los Angeles. He had been treated at a Houston hospital. Dio revealed last summer that he was suffering from stomach cancer shortly after wrapping up a tour in Atlantic City, N.J., with the latest incarnation of Black Sabbath, under the name Heaven And Hell. Golfer Jesse Parnevik No Longer Welcomes Tiger Woods Into His Home

Swedish professional golfer Jesper Bo “Jesse” Parnevik told reporters, Tiger Woods “no longer welcome in my home”. Parnevik introduced the World’s Highest Paid Athlete Woods to wife Cafe Sport Magazine model Nordegen. Parnevik has regretted after the marital inidelity of Woods. Parnevik told in an interview with Aftonbladet, a Swedish Tabloid, that Nordegren worked as a nanny once for his family.  She regularly visits him and his wife at their Florida home but “Tiger is not welcome here any longer.” Still suffering from back problems, Parnevik has hopes to return to the PGA Tour this year. He says running into Woods on the golf course is “not something I’m looking forward to. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Whitney Port Photo: MTV News With so much buzz surrounding the final season of “The Hills,” we almost forgot to mention that there will certainly be more drama unfolding in New York for Whitney Port and all her pals when “The City” returns on Tuesday night. And the show’s season premiere is sure to have everyone talking! “Olivia did come to my fashion show, which was nice,” Port told MTV News on Monday (April 26) about her big fashion show last September . She jokingly added, “I’m not sure why she came, but she came.” But it wasn’t so much an Olivia Palermo sighting that got Port nervous, it was the fact that she was living her dream of producing a major fashion show for her line, Whitney Eve. “The fashion show at Bryant Park was awesome. I got to do it with two other designers [Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman], which was awesome,” she said. “[It really was] a really great thing, because we can share costs and then all the people that were going to see one ended up having to see the other. So a lot of eyes got to see us, but it was very, very overwhelming. So surreal. It happens so fast, but so much goes into it.” While she is still reeling from the experience all these months later, Port said it was the break she had always dreamed of. “[It was] one of those things that could be once-in-a-lifetime,” she said. “I’m not sure I’ll ever have that opportunity again, but it was probably the coolest moment professionally of my life.” So how did Port pull it off? With the help of her very own fairy godmother. “Well, Kelly [Cutrone] helped me a lot,” she said. “Actually, she produced my whole fashion show … and that was huge.” What are you looking forward to seeing in the new season of “The City”? Jonas Brothers Tease Future Albums, Solo Plans

By Jocelyn Vena The Jonas Brothers Photo: MTV News The Jonas Brothers aren’t shy about branching out from their sibling trio. Earlier this year, Nick released an album with his side project, Nick Jonas and the Administration . And after teasing that he was working on some solo music , Joe, along with Demi Lovato, released the song “Make a Wave” from the “Oceans” soundtrack. So does that mean Kevin is the next JoBro to go it alone? “I don’t know about that. Possibly,” he told MTV News at Family Day , an annual charity event that raises money for leukemia, cancer and AIDS research. “I think it would be cool.” But that doesn’t mean the brothers are going their separate ways. Kevin reiterated what Nick told us back in January: “As the Jonas Brothers, we are continuing to make music.” So even if a Kevin solo album doesn’t happen, the guys say they have plenty of new music catalogued for whatever they end up wanting to do next. “We all have been working on lots of music, and … it could really be for anything,” Joe added. “It could be for other artists or it can be for ourselves. … It’s all up in the air. We just love making music, so we just want to be in the studio all the time. “We’ve been in the other room talking about [when we might release the next Jonas Brothers album],” he continued. “For us, we have a big year planned out, [and] that’s definitely in the works. For us, we have a lot of music coming up [for the “Camp Rock 2” soundtrack and the “JONAS” soundtrack]. That in itself is two different records.” As for those albums, and any future JB albums, Nick said the musical style they go with next is something they will be incredibly proud to release. “It’s all music we love, and we’re looking forward to playing,” he said. “[We’re] trying to figure out which fits us best, and then we’ll go in that direction.” What do you want to see the Jonas Brothers do next musically? ‘Glee’ Star Jane Lynch Says She ‘Terrorizes Everybody’ In New Season

By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Jane Lynch at the “Glee” spring premiere on Monday Photo: Todd Williamson/WireImage The upcoming season of “Glee” is set to pay tributes to the work of Madonna and Lady Gaga , but fans are also excited to see just how the relationships will change when the latest episode premieres Tuesday (April 13). Jane Lynch, who plays the tough-as-nails gym teacher Sue Sylvester on the hit show, assured us that Sue will be back to her old, mean tricks. “She terrorizes everybody, still. She gets inappropriate with a bunch of guys. There’s a lot of sexual blackmail,” she told MTV News at the premiere party. “She does a little singing with Olivia Newton John. She gets put in her place in a very interesting, cruel ways by Mr. Will Schuester himself. He gets kind of rough with her and he really hurts her feelings.” This season fans of the show will also get to learn a bit more about why Sue acts the way she does. “We learn more about Sue and, then again, she’s the same person who puts kids in a headlock,” she said. “Sue’s kind of exacting revenge now because I believe she was treated really poorly as a high school kid and now … she’s going to get her power back. And she’s going to terrorize everybody, even though she’s 30 years older than these kids … she perceives as being one of those kids. She’s gonna get ’em back!” Lynch also admitted that having a new generation of guys fawning all over her does feel kind of good. “Sixteen-year-old boys are like my demo now,” she said. “I was saying on ‘Oprah,’ not to drop names, those boys when I was a kid [didn’t pay attention to me] and now the 14-year-old girl in me [gets excited] … It’s great!” What are you looking forward to seeing on the new season of “Glee”? New Halo: Reach Multiplayer Details: Load Outs, Armor Lock, And More

Bungie revealed an impressive amount of details regarding their under-the-radar shooter Halo: Reach during their latest weekly update . In addition to detailed breakdowns of some of the various pros and cons of the weaponry, armor abilities, and vehicles players can expect to have at their disposal in the game’s multiplayer. Two of the standout bits of info concern the newly revealed Armor Ability, Armor Lock, and the game’s weapon load out system. The Armor Ability sounds rather rad as it not only makes you momentarily invincible, but it also allows you to “shed plasma grenades, shred vehicles unfortunate enough to attempt a splatter, and deflect projectiles.” The downside is that you can’t move while using it. Can you say sitting duck? As for the load out system, players will be able to choose between a predetermined mix of weapons, Armor Abilities and grenades specifically designed for the playlist and/or game type. So while you can’t mix and match the individual load out components, there will be plenty of options to meet your killing needs. Plus, you can always pick up new weapons during matches, so you’ll still be able to create the perfect weapon combo for your play style. There are plenty of more details where that came from including clarification on Reach ’s stealth kill mechanic, a Designated Marksman Rifle vs. Magnum discussion, an analysis of shield attributes, jet-pack love, and lots more. If you’re looking forward to Halo: Reach in the least, you’ll definitely want to pick up what Bungie’s throwing down. Should Howard Stern Replace Simon Cowell?

On tomorrow night’s broadcast, Ellen DeGeneres officially joins the American Idol judging table. While we’re looking forward to this debut, many viewers are already contemplating next season. Still shocked by the news of Simon Cowell’s exit , they’re left to wonder: who will replace this British icon? Howard Stern has an idea: himself! “I can’t imagine anyone else but me replacing [Cowell],” Stern said today. “How else are they going to make that show work? Who knows how to broadcast and who knows how to be interesting? And who’s not afraid to speak their mind?” All good questions, but surely there’s someone out there that’s outspoken and more knowledgeable about music than he is about lesbians or sex toys. Stern says quite clearly he’d do the show… if the money is right. “It might be possible, we’ll see,” he said. “They’d have to pay me a ton of dough, because I already make a ton of dough.” Stern’s five-year, $500 million contract with Sirius radio expires at the end of this year. Do you think he’d make a suitable replacement for Simon?
