Mark Bell has passed away. The electronic music pioneer, who rose to fame with the group LFO, was 43 years old. Warp Records, LFO’s record label, confirmed Bell’s passing via a statement on their website, informing fans of the sad news via the following message: “It’s with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark Bell of LFO who died last week from complications after an operation. Mark’s family & friends request privacy at this difficult time.” Along with being a member of LFO, Bell was well-known for his collaborations with a wide array of artists, including Björk and Depeche Mode. He also produced a number of big hit tracks for the Icelandic singer’s albums. “Mark was an amazing producer. He was an extremely pleasant guy to be around on the few occasions I had the pleasure of meeting him. Top bloke,” Detroit techno producer Claude Young told Beatportal, adding: “His early work along with Gez Varley as LFO inspired all of us in Detroit back in the day. Jan Hooks, a Saturday Night Live cast member from 1986-1991, passed away today after a long battle with a serious illness. She was 57 years old. Sources confirm that Hooks, who most recently guest-starred on 30 Rock as Jenna Maroney’s mother, passed away in New York City. The precise cause of death is unknown at this time. Hooks appeared on the iconic sketch comedy program opposite Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey and Dennis Miller, among others. She is best remembered for impressions of Sinead O’Connor and Hillary Clinton, while Hooks was also one half of the Sweeney Sisters. He has a plan to resurrect the company and the city, which he wants to rename Star City. Palmer later offers Felicity a job, which she turns down. Meanwhile, Diggle and Lyla have their baby, which prompts a talk between Oliver and Felicity. She wants him to just tell her that they can “never” be together due to his alter-ego, but he interrupts her speech with a kiss. It’s an amazing moment, yet it doesn’t mean they’re together. Quite the opposite in Felicity’s view, in fact. And now we get to it: After meeting up with Laurel on the roof of a building, Sara gets shot by three arrows to her chest and plummets to her death. It’s a sad moment, but also a necessary one, as it will jumpstart Laurel’s character and have a lasting impact on everyone we know and love. Quite an opener, huh? Jesse Helt is making like Teresa Giudice : The young man – who made headlines in August for accompanying Miley Cyrus to the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards and even giving a speech on her behalf – is headed to prison. The 22-year old received a six-month jail sentence yesterday for violating his probation, according to NBC News. Jesse Helt Surrenders to Police Helt accepted Miley’s Video of the Year trophy at the aforementioned event and then went on to tell viewers about the plight of homeless individuals such as himself. Cyrus later took to social media to explain that she was trying to use her fame for good, as she and Helt helped raised over $200,000 for a homeless shelter in Los Angeles through their stunt. But Miley received criticism from critics who claimed she was simply exploiting Helt, while it eventually came out that Helt wasn’t actually homeless. To make matters worse, the public then learned that several warrants were out for Helt’s arrest , ranging in seriousness from burglary to criminal mischief. Helt turned himself in to police not long afterward and was permitted to speak on his own behalf in court on Tuesday. He told a judge that he’d “like to be viewed as a good person.” Judge Monte Campbell, however, cited continuing probation violations as the reason to revoke his probation and send him to jail. Helt was credited with 57 days served. At the VMAs, his speech did manage to make folks aware of the issue of poverty in America, as Helt told the millions watching at home: “My name is Jesse, and I’m accepting this award on behalf of 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth who are starving lost and scared right now.
