Autumn Radtke, an executive with the troubled online currency company Bitcoin, was found dead in her apartment on February 28. She was 28 years old. Radtke – who is being described as the “American CEO” of Bitcoin, despite such a position not technically existing – was discovered inside her Singapore residence, with local authorities awaiting toxicology test results to determine the cause of death. But she is believed to have taken her own life. Douglas Adams, the chairman of First Meta, confirmed via statement that his colleague has passed away. “The First Meta team is shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and CEO Autumn Radtke,” Adams said. “Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and loved ones. Autumn was an inspiration to all of us and she will be sorely missed.” Radtke worked under Richard Branson at Virgin Charter at 22 years old and also as a freelancer for Apple. She was a native of suburban Milwaukee. The collapse of the major bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox in Tokyo this week has drawn renewed attention to the currency, whose standing in the financial community continues to fall each day. Mt. Gox, once the world’s dominant bitcoin exchange, recently filed for bankruptcy after saying it lost around 850,000 bitcoins, worth $400 million, due to hacking.

12 Years a Slave was among the major 2014 Academy Awards winners Sunday, taking home Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay for John Ridley. Cause for celebration, right? Mostly. Director Steve McQueen and Ridley are reportedly engaged in a feud regarding writing credits for the acclaimed film. When Ridley was announced as the winner of the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for the film, Steve McQueen appeared … less than thrilled. Then, Ridley failed to name the film’s director among the many “thank you” mentions in the speech. Coincidences and the products of nerves or bad timing? Possible, certainly. Neither would be unprecedented on such an occasion. But the rumors began anyway, fueled by a tweet from reporter Nikki Finke. She wrote that her (unnamed) sources “attributing the John Ridley-Steve McQueen cold shoulder at Oscars tonight to dispute over screenplay credit.” Ridley (top left, in above photo) also did not bring up McQueen (bottom right, speaking) the night before after his win at the Independent Spirit Awards. Did McQueen want credit on the script as well? Is there something else wrong between them? Neither has commented on the alleged feud as of this point. At his 20/20 Experience World Tour concert on Tuesday night, the singer had one fan who got too close and another who seemed to resent being there at all! While showing off his dance moves during “Cabaret”, Timberlake acted quickly to remove a grabby fan’s hand from his behind. Troubled football star Richie Incognito was admitted to a psychiatric care unit in Arizona late last night, following his latest incident of erratic behavior. Incognito did not check in voluntarily , either; Scottsdale police officers reportedly filled out a petition to have the 30-year-old admitted to the psychiatric facility. Richie Incognito Smashes Own Ferrari The general rule is that getting said petition approved requires a detailed description of at least two incidents that show significant psychiatric instability. Richie Incognito definitely qualifies for that, at least it would appear. The former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman admitted taking a baseball bat to his own Ferrari earlier this week; it’s unclear if that incident was cited here. It would be a good bet, though hardly the first sign of concern. Incognito didn’t resist officials’ overtures to admit him, however, and acknowledges that he needs professional help dealing with all of the drama in his life. Besides being the focus of a five-month NFL investigation centered around his alleged bullying of Jonathan Martin , Incognito’s parents are also divorcing. When Rachel Frederickson revealed her weight loss on The Biggest Loser finale, even Jillian Michaels was agasp. Until now, though, she hadn’t opened up about it. “I was stunned,” the trainer told HuffPost Live. “I thought she had lost too much weight.” Jillian Michaels Slams Rachel Frederickson Weight Loss Michaels said the show implements a number of checks and balances, including having the trainers check in with contestants even after the ranch. But she had no idea Rachel Frederickson had been losing so much on her own, bringing her weight loss total to a staggering 155 pounds (out of 260). “In my opinion, this had fallen through those checks and balances,” she said of The Biggest Loser winner and her controversial season-ending reveal. Frederickson herself has since said she may have gone to an extreme, admitting: “Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic in my training to get to the finale.” She also looked healthier this week on Today, but Jillian Michaels still expressed concern at the results, and that it wasn’t just enthusiasm at work. In fact, she likened her weight loss to the extreme weight gain that brought her to the NBC show in the first place, arguing that they’re not too different. “Anybody who gains too much weight or loses too much weight… these are both manifestations of the same issue,” she said, making an interesting point. “It simply means that somebody is utilizing their relationship with food to manage their emotions which are painful, hard, difficult to face or control.” Some critics have called for the show’s cancelation in the wake of this result, but NBC hinted it will move forward with “small but significant” tweaks.
