David Brenner Dies; Comedian, Tonight Show Staple Was 78

Comedian David Brenner, a comedian and regular on The Tonight Show, has died after a battle with cancer, a family spokesman said. He was 78. Brenner was a staple on Johnny Carson’s late-night TV show, appearing 158 times (more than any other guest) according to a bio on his official site. He also helped write, produce and direct 115 TV documentaries, earning him nearly 30 awards, and was the author of five books over the years. Even in death, Brenner kept the jokes coming – a tough feat. His final request, according to spokesman Jeff Abraham, was to have $100 in small bills tucked in his sock, “just in case tipping is recommended where I’m going.” His grave site will also read: “If this is supposed to be a joke … then I don’t get it!” That’s pretty great. Comedian Joan Rivers, a longtime friend, Tweeted: “RIP David Brenner. I adored him, and laughed more with him than anybody. Sad, sad, sad. Kristin Cavallari admitted in an interview with Fox News Thursday that she is against vaccinating her kids, not unlike the famously anti-vaccine Jenny McCarthy. Speaking with Lisa Kennedy on Thursday, Cavallari made the surprising admission when Kennedy jokingly made reference to McCarthy’s controversial views. “We didn’t vaccinate. Miley Cyrus gets due credit for this one. After seeing a fan getting in trouble for taking a photo of her, she went off on a rant and pulled her up on stage. Granted, said rant contained six f-bombs … but nevertheless. She’s in the right! Miles was belting out a spirited rendition of “Adore You” last night when she saw a fan getting busted for taking pics of her, then she lost it in the girl’s defense. Chris Brown: JAILED After Getting Kicked Out of Rehab AGAIN!

Chris Brown is back behind bars yet again. The star was jailed after getting kicked out of rehab, and thus violating his probation, for the second time. It’s unclear why, but the 24-year-old was booted from the Malibu rehab facility where he’s been living for about four months, and sent directly to jail. Here’s the rundown on today as well as the background here: Chris is on probation until late 2014 for beating Rihanna in 2009. As a condition of that probation, he must obey all laws or risk being jailed. He was arrested for assault in D.C. last fall, but dodged the proverbial bullet when a judge allowed him to serve 90 days in rehab instead. After he completed that stint, prosecutors still wanted him jailed, but the judge ordered Chris to stay in rehab while the D.C. case ran its course. The deal was simple: Chris could choose rehab or jail. An easy call, until Brown was thrown out of the rehab center a second time Friday morning, for violating “internal rules” NOT involving violence or drugs.  He was previously thrown out of a different facility for throwing a rock at his mom’s car , but that did not play a role here; he’d been making progress, supposedly. Chris was caught having “an inappropriate relationship” with a female worker earlier this year, but that’s reportedly not the reason he got tossed today either. In any case, back to the slammer he goes, because when he left (by choice or not), he violated the judge’s orders and therefore his get out of jail free card. Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas to Get Engaged in 2014, Oddsmakers Predict

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas are fueling speculation that they are going to get engaged, and sometime soon. Oddsmakers in the UK are even banking on it. After appearing together for the second time in three days last weekend, Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas are looking like they may soon take the plunge. On Friday, Cressida joined Harry at an official function, and they looked cozy together. Sunday, she was pictured gazing up at him as they enjoyed a rugby game. As a result, odds for Harry, 29, popping the question to Cress, 25, this year have now been cut to only 8:1, says the British betting and gaming firm, Ladbrokes. Yes, you can actually wager on whether that happens in 2014. No word what the line is on William getting Kate Middleton pregnant again by the end of the year, but little George may have a cousin sooner rather than later. Not to say Harry and Bonas are totally fast-tracking this thing. Oddsmakers believe it unlikely the duo will walk down the aisle in 2014. Those odds are 20:1. “The more Cressida is spotted with Harry, the more [customers] are convinced an engagement is in the cards ,” says PR expert Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes. There is also growing speculation that Cressida will join Harry and the rest of the royals at their Scottish retreat Balmoral in the summer, which could be big. Michael Jordan… Tiger Woods… Kristen Stewart?!? When it comes to reconciling with Robert Pattinson , many fans of this actress have been screaming at Stewart to just do it . But Nike is reportedly sending this message to the star for a very different reason: the shoe giant wants her to sign an endorsement deal. “It’s no secret how much Kristen loves Nikes ,” a source tells Radar. “She often changes into a pair of Nikes after walking the red carpet in heels.” Stewart, however, is notoriously shy and is hesitant to have her face (or feet) splashed on billboards around the nation. “It’s not the easiest deal to make, as Kristen has shunned dozens of offers to endorse products since her rise to fame in the Twilight films,” the insider adds. “Also, Kristen already makes a ton of money because she gets a little piece of the Twilight merchandise… She’s terribly self-conscious about seeing her face on products.” She can’t be that self-conscious, of course. Take note of this Kristen Stewart topless ad for Balenciaga’s Rosabotanica fragrance. Nike, of course, is best known for cutting deals with basketball players, golfers and disgraced Tour de France champions. “But the company obviously wants to broaden its base from athletes to actors, and, in particular, appeal to young women,” the source concluded. “Nike execs believe that with her tomboy cool image, Kristen would be the perfect celebrity spokeswoman to create some new excitement about the brand.” Possibly. Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss: BFF Alert!

Looks like Taylor Swift has a new bestie. Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss and the singer are on a road trip through California, checking out the sights, posing for pics and having a blast. “Beach, forests, cliffs, Northern California, sand, flower picking. Best road trip ever,” Taylor captioned one picture with Karlie. See cuteness below: The Grammy winner has apparently added another famous pal to a roster that includes Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Hailee Steinfeld, Sarah Hyland, and Lorde. Miley Cyrus? Not so much. In fact, a hilarious tabloid rumor recently implied that Swift, Gomez and Lovato are planning an epic takedown of frenemy Miles. We suspect that’s BS, but the Swift-Kloss friendship is the real deal. The pair cruised up the Pacific Coast Highway on a road trip to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. The friends posed for Instagram shots in the park’s giant forest, took in the breathtaking views, visited a bakery and frolicked up and down the beach together. In addition to Kloss, 21, Swift, 24, has spent time with several Victoria’s Secret models after performing at the brand’s annual fashion show in the fall. Last month, she also had a girls weekend with youngster Lorde. The girls hit the beach in Malibu, Calif., before heading out for a day of shopping. So cute! “Looks like they are really friends!” a source said. “My girlfriend saw them at Paradise Cove together this weekend. They were laughing and joking around.” Sometimes, a good time with a good girlfriend beats a boyfriend hands down.
