SMH: Teairra Mari Loses Once Again In Her Revenge Porn Lawsuit

Source: Nicholas Hunt / Getty Teairra Mari Loses Lawsuit Against Ex-Boyfriend Teairra Mari has officially lost in her revenge porn lawsuit….again. The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star first went up against 50 Cent, and now, she’s lost again after a judge dismissed her entire case and threw out all of the claims against her ex-boyfriend. According to court documents obtained by The Blast , a Los Angeles judge ordered that because Mari failed to appear for a scheduled hearing in the case earlier this month, that the court determined she has ultimately “failed to prosecute her case.” The judge also noted that 50 Cent was already dismissed, but now Mari’s ex-boyfriend is too. Akbar Abdul-Ahad, who Teairra claimed conspired with the rapper to leak a sexually graphic video of her, is now completely free from the battle and the case has been closed. As was first reported,  Teairra Mari sued 50 Cent and her ex-boyfriend accusing them of engaging in a plan to sexually objectify, threaten, intimidate, humiliate, and degrade her.  She also claimed that Abdul-Ahad logged into her Instagram account and posted a sexually graphic video of her without her permission.  Mari said that her ex-boyfriend was upset because he was allegedly trying to develop a polyamorous relationship, along with a reality show highlighting that lifestyle–but she wanted no parts. Teairra went on to say that after she removed the video and photo that Abdul-Ahad had posted, 50 Cent went on to post the same material on his own page. He captioned the photo “get the strap,” which the reality star claims was a possible reference that encouraged his fans to harm her. 50 Cent denied all the allegations and said by the time he reposted the image, it was already all over the internet in other places. He demanded her lawsuit be thrown out of court, arguing that the photo didn’t even show any genitals or a sexual acts. The rapper was recently dismissed from the case completely and the judge awarded him attorney fees in the amount of $30,618. Though there’s no word on payment toward her ex, Mari’s entire case has now been closed.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé Use Decoys To Avoid The Paparazzi [Photos]

Continue reading here:

Jay-Z and Beyoncé are proving once again to be the finesse queen and king. Their secret to avoiding the press is low key genius. Page Six has seemingly cracked the code on how Hip-Hop’s power couple keeps things low key while they are out on the town. Last week Hov and Bey attended a surprise dinner for Kareem “Biggs” Burke’s 45th birthday at Avra Beverly Hills. The celebratory get together had an all star list of celebrities in the house including Diddy, N.O.R.E., former NBA player Al Harrington, Saint Jhn, Mr. Rugs and Emory “Vegas” Jones. While The Carters apparently stayed for the festivities they made sure to take another route for their exit. According to the gossip rag’s sources “they snuck out through the back as the other guests made their way to the front to distract the paparazzi.” Humbled by the turnout Burke took to his Instagram to give his sincere thanks. “The Love is real!! Thanks for the surprise @rodeoandmadison. Filled with family and friends. A Birthday with memories that will last s lifetime. #blackexcellence.” Photo: WENN.com

Tweets On Fyre: Ja Rule Sounds Off Against Struggle Music Festival Docs, Someone Take His Phone

See the original post:

Source: Patrick McMullan / Getty Over the weekend, the talk of the internet was two documentaries that highlighted the epic struggle that was Fyre Festival . One of the many people involved in the scam was rapper Ja Rule who can be seen in both docs excited about the festival that never was. He recently broke his silence, blasting both documentaries on Twitter. Y’all want it to be me sooo bad it’s crazy… kinda sad!!! the crazy shit is I’m watching the docs in awe myself… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 Should have just said nothing at all. 50 Cent’s favorite punching bag Jeffrey Atkins tried to Tweet through the slander coming his way and failed miserably. Rule believes that both docs unfairly levied the blame on him for the disaster that was Fyre Fest and said “I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers,” days after Hulu’s Fyre Fraud and Netflix’s Fyre documentaries dropped. I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 He then followed that up by defending himself by ridiculously stating he had an “amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!!” and adding “I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???” I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make??? — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 While both documentaries detail how disastrous Fyre Festival was, The Ringer pointed out that both docs have some eye-opening issues. Hulu paid convicted fraudster Billy McFarland, and an undisclosed amount of money for an on-camera interview and Netflix’s doc was co-produced by Jerry Media better known as the Fuck Jerry group who helped market the festival. Ja Rule wasted no time shifting any blame thrown his way and directed it towards his former business partner stating he has “receipts, “pointed out those issues with the docs and made himself to look like a victim as well stating he lost “plenty” of money. Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve went to the Bahamian ppl Netflix PAID fuck Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!! — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 PLENTY… https://t.co/Pb5tOW3ueL — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 20, 2019 Through all the mess, Twitter did finally put enough pressure on the Queens rapper to apologize to Bahamian native and restaurant owner MaryAnne Rolle who was screwed over by the festival. My heart goes out to this lovely lady… MaryAnne Rolle we’ve never met but I’m devastated that something that was meant to be amazing, turn out to be such a disaster and hurt so many… https://t.co/16ld7ePlvQ — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 21, 2019 Since the release of the docs, she has managed to raise $144,735 through her own campaign and exceeded her goal $123,000. Speaking with TMZ exclusively she still feels Ja Rule should pony up $100k and we definitely agree he should pay her if he is indeed genuinely sorry. — Photo: Patrick McMullan / Getty

So Sad: 10-Year-Old Boy Commits Suicide After Being Brutally Bullied Over His Colostomy Bag

Seven Bridges' mother said her son was targeted by bullies for months because of a condition that requires him to wear a colostomy bag. https://t.co/oPFKxpbzIa — WTHR.com (@WTHRcom) January 23, 2019 10-Year-Old Boy Kills Himself After Bullying A 10-year-old Kentucky boy tragically took his own life after his parents say he was constantly bullied for a medical condition. The parents of Seven Bridges are reeling after they say their fifth grader was bullied to the point of suicide. “I saw my son dead. That’s something in my head,” Tami Charles told WHAS11 who found him hanging in the closet after she came home from the grocery store. “For the few minutes that we left, he didn’t want us to see that,” his father, Donnie Bridges said. The parents say their only child, a miracle baby born in 2008, was taunted because of a medical defect that required him to undergo 26 surgeries and use a colostomy bag. Kids would torment little Seven because of the smell. Back in September WHAS 11 reported that Seven was bullied on a bus ride home from his elementary school. He said he was called the N-word by a student and was ordered by a “friend” to beat up the bully. When he refused, his friend began choking him. “I still can’t get him choking me out of my head,” said his mother. His parents were planning to transfer him to another school next year but now they won’t have the chance. They believe his school didn’t do enough to protect him. A GoFundMe has set up for little Seven’s funeral. We send our sincerest condolences to the family of Seven Bridges, this is the second black child in recent months to take their life. Little  9-year-old McKenzie Adams of Alabama killed herself after being bullied in December. Continue reading

Kevin Barnett, Comedian and Rel Co-Creator, Dies at 32

Kevin Barnett, a highly successful stand-up comedian who recently helped create the sitcom Rel, was found dead during a vacation last week in Mexico. He was 32 years old. The cause of Barnett’s death remains unknown at this time, but the tragic piece of news was confirmed via a Tweet from the official account of the Last Podcast Network, on which Barnett co-hosted the weekly series Roundtable of Gentlemen. “Dear Last Podcast family,” opens this sad message, which expounds with the awful details as follows: It’s with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of Kevin Barnett. The joy he brought to our lives is the greatest gift we have ever received. Remind your friends you love them because you never know when you’ll see them again. We love you KB. We’ll share more details about what happened as they come in. Over the weekend, however, Barnett shared his last-ever social media post: a photo of himself on a sidewalk in Mexico, along with a caption that read: “In mexico. Bought myself a sweater. Been accused of appropriation several times. In my head I just gave a lady some money so I ain’t cold. Either way. Swag heavy. Mixtape comin.” Barnett wrote and contributed to a multitute of television shows and films, including Broad City, The Carmichael Show and The Heartbreak Kid. The sitcom Rel, which he co-created, premiered just a few months ago in September; it stars Get Out actor and comedian Lil Rel Howery and Sinbad. Barnett also had a few movies in the works as well, including one called The Wrong Missy with David Spade. “Our hearts are broken, as are those of everyone at Rel, at the news of Kevin Barnett’s passing. He was an incredibly funny, wildly talented man who had so much more to do and so many more stories to tell,” a rep for Twentieth Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment said in a statement. It concluded: “We send our thoughts and prayers to his friends and family during this difficult time.” Comedy Central also paid tribute to Barnett after the awful news broke, writing: “Kevin Barnett was an incredible comedian and writer, contributing to Broad City, the stand-up community and beyond. He’ll be greatly missed.” Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Chelsea Peretti, meanwhile, Tweeted, “i am so sad.” And Crashing‘s Jamie A. Lee added on Instagram: “A shocking, horrible loss. Kevin Barnett was a brilliant comedian and a great guy. RIP @fatboybarnett. This is so awful.” “I’m at a loss for words hearing about Kevin Barnett… We went to college together and both moved out to LA to pursue the dream,” actor and comedian King Bach wrote on Twitter, concluding: “Rest in paradise brother.” Then there was The Simpsons and Parks and Recreation producer Mike Scully, who worked on The Carmichael Show and said of Barnett: “Kevin Barnett was a great standup, but I knew him as a smart, funny, talented TV writer and just a really sweet guy who made the insanity of the late nights more fun. “Condolences to his family and friends. Can’t believe I’m writing this.” We concur. This is what Pete Davidson wrote of the tragedy: “The world lost a great one today. One of our comedy family members Kevin Barnett has tragically passed. I love Kevin. I’ve known him for nearly 10 years and he’s always been the sweetest and funniest. “Always had a smile on his face. Was one of the few that treated me like a comic even when I was just 16 years old. He always made me feel part of the group.” May Kevin Barnett rest in peace. SMH: CBS Rejects Super Bowl Ad Calling For The Legalization of Medical Marijuana

Source: MediaNews Group/Boulder Daily Camera via Getty Images / Getty Super Bowl Commercial For Medical Marijuana Shut Down Though The NFL and the Super Bowl in particular are known for running huge ads about alcohol, it looks like they’re not quite ready to put their money behind medical marijuana . According to reports from  Bloomberg , Acreage Holdings claims that  CBS  cut a medical marijuana ad from the televised portion of the Super Bowl after viewing a rough outline of the commercial. The multi-state marijuana company tells the publication that the goal of the advertisement was to “create an advocacy campaign for constituents who are being lost in the dialogue” and thought that the most-watched event of the year could help push this same narrative. Although medical marijuana is legal in over 30 states as of now, federal restrictions hinder many from actually obtaining their cannabis. Let’s look at Oklahoma, for example. Even though medical marijuana is legal in the state, the  Tulsa World  reports that it is against the law for a doctor to actually prescribe the substance. This is due to the fact that marijuana is still classified by the federal government as a schedule one controlled substance–which means doctors are prohibited from discussing strains and dosages with their patients as that would be considered aiding and abetting, which is punishable by law. These nuanced–and quite frankly, confusing–difficulties that occur around the country are the reason that many feel the commercial would have been informative and beneficial airing during the Super Bowl. Now, fans are calling out the league’s hypocrisy for choosing not to air the ad because, like we mentioned before, the big game is known for giving tons of air time to beer. And we all know network television has no problem airing commercials for prescription drugs. So the game sponsored by the alcohol industry that consists of people beating the crap out of each other and which turns a blind eye to domestic violence now has the moral high ground to decide that a little green plant used for medicine is too much for viewers to handle. Ok. — Blake Yagman (@blakeyagman) January 22, 2019 The NCIS crowd prefers percs and whiskey — Zoo With Roy (@zoowithroy) January 22, 2019 I guess the side effects list was too short. — VeggiePasta (@veggiepasta) January 22, 2019 I bet @CBS will run hella alcohol and pharmaceutical drug ads though, which are both way more dangerous — Devils advocate since 1982. ‘LHHNYS9’ Recap: Yandy’s Foster Daughter May Not Have Told Her The Truth

See the original post here:

Source: Brian Stukes / Getty Tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop New York finds Yandy on a high. She was granted an emergency hearing with regard to Infinity and the judge approved Infinity to stay with Yandy temporarily  and  they got the fostering process moving forward. Yaaaaay! Both Yandy and Infinity are thrilled, but Yandy is soon going to find out that she may have moved into this too quickly. Hold that thought. Joe Budden and Cyn still a mess, but they finally end up having respective chats with Dr. Jenn, Vh1’s resident psychotherapist. Joe talks about Cyn being moody and how his career has been accelerating, etc. Cyn finally does open up about what she believes is postpartum depression, Joe being busy with work and not having time for her, the pressures of motherhood, etc. The bombshell comes when Cyn reveals that she doesn’t want a nanny because she ended up being molested by a woman who was supposed to be looking after her when she was five. That’s a secret that only three people (including Joe) knew up until that revelation (not even her mom knew). Dr. Jenn says she doesn’t think Cyn is dealing with postpartum depression. What Cyn is dealing with, according to the doctor, is her unresolved issues surfacing in the form of depression, anxiety, and resentment toward Joe. Cyn agrees with Dr. Jenn’s assessment. Dr. Jenn eventually speaks to Joe on behalf of Cynthia and it seems like he receives the message better than when Cyn communicates, but these issues aren’t going away overnight. This becomes clear later on when they double date with Papoose and Remy Ma and Papoose gives then the genius advice to get married. Papoose’s logic is that if they get married they’ll be more likely to use their vows as guidelines to make it work. Mmmmkay. Mendeecees’ mother gets word of Yandy’s seemingly hasty foster mom moves and she’s rightfully concerned about Yandy bringing this girl around her grandchildren. Yandy thinks she has everything figured out, but then she meets with Infinity’s birth mother to get her blessing to adopt Infinity, only to discover that Infinity gave her a different story. Mama Infinity’s story is shady too though. Her version is that she’s a single mom with 6 kids and she wants to do what’s best for them, especially Infinity. She claims that Infinity was a sweet child but then once she became a teenager she started running away then next thing you know authorities picked her up, said that mom was abusive and took Infinity away. That sounds like a lot of details are missing, but in the end, Yandy finds out that Infinity actually never grew up in foster care despite telling her that. According to Infinity’s mom, her daughter has only been in foster care since last November. The conversation goes well. Mama Infinity gives Yandy her blessing to adopt and gives her a loaded, “Good luck.” Later on, Yandy has a moment where Infinity goes missing. Eventually, Infinity turns up again and Yandy is pissed. But Infinity says she ran away because she was pissed after discovering that Yandy spoke to her mother. Yandy calls Infinity out for lying about how long she has been in foster care. Infinity says her mom isn’t being truthful and doesn’t want to take responsibility for being a bad mom. In the end, Yandy still feels bad for Infinity and says she’s on her side no matter what, but she has to stop running away and learn to trust her. We’ll see how this goes. Sidney Starr and Nya Lee get into it again. Basically, Sidney shows up to some event wearing her own dress instead of something “fashion expert” Nya Lee picked out. This leads to Nya Lee going off on Sidney and calling her ungrateful. Sidney bucks at Nya like she’s going to hit her but it’s just a bluff. Jonathan is just standing there feigning like he’s lost, but really taking it all in because he’s messy. Nya decides to leave before she resorts to fighting. Jonathan sides with Nya Lee in thinking Sidney is ungrateful. This is going to be revisited next week. You know how petty beef never dies on this show. There’s supposed to be a trip coming up. We know how that’s going to go. The episode winds down with Rich Dollaz’s drama. Rich is distraught because his daughter’s mother, Miracle, shot her husband in a domestic violence incident. Rich’s daughter, Ashley, took the man to the hospital but doesn’t know much else about what’s happening. Miracle left Rich and Ashley in the dark but now, ish is real. Initially, Miracle was charged with attempted murder but the charges were dropped to aggravated assault and she has to go to court for a plea hearing. Plea hearings never go well. Anyway, Rich, who feels guilty for not staying in Memphis to protect them, convinces Miracle to tell Ashley (who is 19) what’s going on. They all come to tears over Miracle’s uncertain future. Next week we find out what happens at the hearing. Fingers crossed.
