#RememberWhen: Ol’ Dirty Bastard Interrupts The 1998 Grammys After Puff Daddy Wins ‘Best Rap Album’

Source: Jim Spellman / Getty Remember when Kanye West hopped on stage at the VMAs and interrupted Taylor Swift ‘s Best Female Video win? Of course you do, but depending on your age, maybe you didn’t know Kanye West wasn’t the first Black man to catch the spirit, run up on stage, and suddenly  speak his mind at an award show. Back in 1998, Wu-Tang Clan were nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys, but lost to Puff Daddy . Much like ‘Ye did in 2009, Ol’ Dirty Bastard intervened and gave everyone a piece of his mind—just as Shawn Colvin was about to accept her award for Song of the Year. Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty MTV reported at the time: “After sneaking to the microphone and kissing presenter Erykah Badu in mid-bumrush, O.D.B. urged the crowd to ‘Please calm down,’ and launched into a confusing speech thusly: ‘I went and bought me an outfit today that cost me a lot of money, because I figured that Wu-Tang was gonna win,’ O.D.B. said, referring to the Best Rap Album that Wu-Tang was nominated for, but did not win earlier in the evening as the honor went to Puff Daddy. “‘I don’t know how you all see it, but when it comes to the children, Wu-Tang is for the children,’ O.D.B. continued. ‘We teach the children. Puffy is good, but Wu-Tang is the best. I want you all to know that this is O.D.B., and I love you all, peace.’ O.D.B. was then ushered off the stage, and a thoroughly confused Colvin was allowed to give her acceptance speech.” [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4104584″ overlay=”true”] When asked what got into him, the late rapper reportedly told MTV News ‘ Chris Connelly backstage at Radio City Music Hall, “Something just jumped into my blood.” O.D.B. also apologized, though he said he believed the Grammy stage was, in fact, the appropriate place to express his thoughts on Puffy’s win. Puffy beat out the Wu-Tang Clan with his debut studio album No Way Out , which features many of his most classic hits to date, including “Victory” featuring Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes, “I’ll Be Missing You” featuring Faith Evans and 112, “It’s All About The Benjamins” featuring Lil Kim, The Lox, and Notorious B.I.G., “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down,” feat. Mase and more. Puffy also beat out Missy Elliott’s Supa Dupa Fly , Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Deat h, and Wyclef Jean’s Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival . Watch it all go down at the 2:29 mark in the throwback clip up top and let us know if you knew someone Kanye’d before Kanye Kanye’d at the 2009 VMAs? Also, tune into the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, February 10 at 8 p.m. EST.

Joy-Anna Duggar Apologizes For Encouraging Anorexic Fan to Lose Weight

Last week, Joy-Anna vaguely discussed her weight loss methods in a cryptic video that appeared on her Instagram page, In a video that was clearly intended to pique curiosity in the Optavia weight loss system, the mother of one revealed that she had shed all of her post-baby weight — but initially, she didn’t say how. Joy-Anna Duggar: I Lost My Baby Weight! As intended, the post quickly caught the attention of Duggar fans who are looking to lose a few pounds. “Excited to share about this! It’s been SOOO helpful for me,” Joy captioned the above video. “My health coach has lost 47lbs in 15 weeks and her husband has lost 40lbs in just 9 weeks!! If you’re ready to start or just have questions please email me your phone number and we’d love to talk with you!” One fan commented that she would love to lose weight, but must be “careful” in doing so due to past issues with anorexia. “Awesome! This is all clean and has probiotics built in!” Shortly thereafter, a third Instagram user posted a screenshot of what she claimed was a DM conversation with Joy, “Your comments responding to ladies with eating disorders on your Optavia video are very dangerous,” the person allegedly messaged Joy. The person added that Joy should be “aware that those of us with eating disorders SHOULD NOT be encouraged to lose weight by anybody but our own doctors.” To her credit, Joy promptly responded in apologetic fashion. “Thank you for your concern,” Joy wrote. “I did not mean at all to text the girl that has anorexia and I feel so bad, I tried to find the account so I could fix what I said.” From there, Joy explained that she had only the best intentions in encouraging fans to use the Optavia program. “As far as my health coach, once she gets on a call she tells each person to check with their GP before doing it,” she wrote. “Optavia is a great program and is recommended by lots of doctors. But I understand it is not good for all.” The Duggars are generally very careful when it comes to the products they choose to endorse on social media. In fact, they’re careful in social media in general, with Jim Bob and Michelle usually forbidding their children to start accounts until they’re grown and married. This incident is likely serving as a reminder of why they take such extreme precautions. View Slideshow: Joy-Anna Duggar Gives Birth to BIGGEST Duggar Baby After Traumatizing Labor

Coooorrect: Stalley’s Empathy Display On ‘I Don’t See’ Single Sets Tone For Forthcoming ‘Human’ EP [Listen]

New Stalley “I Don’t See” Sets The Tone For Upcoming ‘Human’ EP, Releasing February 1st Rapper Stalley has been grinding in the music space for a minute and now he’s back to bearing his ‘Human’ emotions. The midwest born, but NYC made songwriter is set to release another EP called ‘Human’ on February 1st. With Billboard , Stalley  discussed his inspiration behind telling stories in music that revolve around humanity. There’s a lot you talk about on this EP, mostly stories that revolve around your humanity. Do you feel it is imperative for rappers to be in touch with that human side, and for their fans to see that? Yes, it’s very important. I think that especially now, we get so lost in the celebrity and being famous more than we do the art. Now, the more famous and popular you are, then you can be whatever you want to be — you can choose, almost. You got 500,000 followers and when that number keeps going up, you can call yourself a fashion designer or anything. You can make up whatever you want to make up because you have the following to sell them anything. I think people really do lose touch with their human side. A rapper with some empathy! In his single from the EP “Human”, “I Don’t See”, Stalley rhymes about reaching his destiny despite the negativity. Hit play to check it. Listen to “I Dont See” on your favorite streaming services. Mackenzie Standifer Opens Up on Addiction Crisis: Ryan Almost Died!

If you’re a Teen Mom OG fan, then you’re no doubt aware of Ryan Edwards’ struggles with addiction . Following numerous arrests and multiple stints in rehab, Ryan is sober these days, and he’s reportedly fully committed to making amends for his past misdeeds and being the best husband and father he can be. Throughout his struggles, Ryan has benefited from the unwavering support of his wife, Mackenzie Standifer. Many fans of the show have openly wondered how Mackenzie could stand by Ryan’s side throughout his numerous relapses and embarrassing incidents such as the time he lost consciousness on their wedding day . But Mackenzie is up on the latest research, and it seems she’s well aware that while Ryan’s recovery is his responsibility, his addiction is not entirely his fault. Mackenzie has been taking to Instagram this week to try and educate her followers on the escalating opioid crisis in America. She speaks from experience, of course, as heroin and other opioids were Ryan’s drug of choice. And it seems that her recent research has made Mackenzie acutely aware of how lucky Ryan is to have escaped with his life. “I just wanted to hop on here and kind of show you guys the research I had done,” she told fans during a recent Instagram Live  “This is going to blow your mind.” She then displayed the two charts below in hopes of impressing upon her fans the severity of the situation. “If this isn’t a crisis, I don’t know what is,” Standifer said. “Don’t believe me? You’d be surprised. A lot of the time it starts so innocent and ends in a revolving door, a never-ending cycle that can’t be easily stopped,” she added. “Have you ever wondered what your local pain clinic was handing out? Opiates. Educate yourselves.” “Let’s get talking. Let’s stop this. Let’s do something about it,” Mackenzie told her followers. Of course, this is the internet in 2019, so it’s not surprising that Standifer received some pushback from followers who had not researched the as thoroughly (if they did any research at all). “It’s not a crisis,” one commenter shot back. “People do drugs, it’s a CHOICE.” “[People are] more likely to die from an overdose than a car accident, but [I’m] still getting messages like these,” she wrote under a screenshot of the conversation. “This is why I CHOOSE to not shut up.” Fortunately, it seems that Mackenzie has received more support than criticism for her efforts. “Tell them about how REGULAR people get hooked on prescription drugs because of injury or surgery or chronic pain!” one fan wrote. “[These are] not crackheads in the street who are choosing to get high!” “You’re right! It’s people you’d NEVER expect. It’s lawyers, doctors, high power officials, the soccer mom in her minivan. It does NOT discriminate,” she responded. It’s a little upsetting that Ryan and her followers apparently believe “crackheads in the street” are less deserving of continued life than “high power officials,” but at least they’re moving in the right direction. The overdose rate is up roughly 500 percent since 1990, and the opioid crisis is a major factor in the continued decline of overall life expectancy in America. Fortunately, there are public figures like Mackenzie who are willing to use their platform to shed light on this alarming issue. View Slideshow: Ryan Edwards: Out of Rehab and Loving Life! Joy-Anna Duggar: I Lost All My Baby Weight! (But I Won’t Tell You How!)

It’s been less than a year since Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her first child . But already, fans are demanding answers to two very familiar questions: 1. Is Joy-Anna pregnant again ? (As far as we can tell, there’s no reason to believe the rumors that she’s expecting her second child.) 2. How did Joy-Anna shed her post-pregnancy pounds? Sadly, it looks like she’s not spilling the tea on that one … for now. Joy-Anna Duggar: I Lost My Baby Weight! Joy posted the above video to her Instagram page on Wednesday. “Excited to share about this!” she captioned the clip. “It’s been SOOO helpful for me. My health coach has lost 47lbs in 15 weeks and her husband has lost 40lbs in just 9 weeks!!” Following an endorsement like that, fans were eager to find out the secret to Joy’s success. Unfortunately, it seems she’s keeping a lid on that information for reasons that aren’t entirely clear. “I lost all my baby weight within the first week of doing the program and now I’m really happy because I got below my wedding weight,” Joy-Anna told fans in the video. “Before my wedding I worked so hard to get there. “It’s such an easy program to follow and very little meal prep, which is super helpful for me and our schedule,” Joy continued. “The cost is comparable or even less than most people are spending on their food budget already.” Normally, that would be the point in the video where Joy would sing the praises of some weight loss program that she’s been paid to endorse — or even just one she found personally helpful but with which she’s not professionally affiliated. But for the time being, at least, Joy’s keeping the specifics about the program to herself. And fans are understandably confused. “I’m kinda skeptical,” one follower commented. “Why not say the name of the program? Why all the secrets?” The Duggars are no strangers to sponsored content, but they’re more selective than most reality stars when it comes to the products and services they endorse. Many commenters speculated that Joy is referring to the brand Optavia, as the Duggars apparently have a history with the company. Perhaps the final details of the deal haven’t been sorted out yet, or perhaps Joy is just building suspense. Whatever the case, she’s keeping her lips semi-sealed for now. The Real Housewives of New Jersey Recap: Teresa Giudice Talks About Joe’s Deportation!

With reality TV being filmed so far in advance, viewers are just getting to the crazy stuff for Teresa Giudice and her family on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.  Giudice finally weighed in on husband Joe’s forthcoming release from jail on Wednesday’s episode of the Bravo hit and was surprisingly upbeat about it. “The closer it gets to Joe getting out, all I think about is, ‘Soon he’ll be home,’ ” Teresa said about her dire situation. “I don’t even talk about deportation. That’s all negative thoughts. To me, Joe’s coming home, and that’s it.” Um, what? Do we sense a hint of denial there, Teresa?  The immigration court ruled to deport Joe to Italy when he finished out his 41-month prison sentence. Even though an appeal was lodged, he still faces deportation.  It’s obviously a tough time for the family, but what we do know is that Teresa has still been visiting him.  “I just came straight from seeing Joe,” she told Danielle Staub, before going on to confirm their time together on the inside is spend talking about their four children and “what he wants to do when he gets out.” The conversation quickly turned to what Joe tried to do when Teresa visited him.  “He’s trying to touch my a–. I’m like, ‘Get your hand off of my a–,’ ” Teresa laughed. “You’re not allowed to do that!” It’s not uncommon for lovers to want to get closer to each other after spending so long apart. There have been many rumors of late that Teresa is ready to call time on her marriage.  There was that time she was all over social media WITHOUT her wedding ring. A lot can change in a few months, but if all of this Joe talk did anything, it shut down some of the rumors.  For now, Teresa just wants her husband home and thinks it will complete her family again.  “I’m looking forward to it,” she said. “The kids will really be happy when he gets home. They can’t wait, especially Milania.”   Elsewhere on Wednesday’s episode, Jennifer Aydin was out for blood. Her first big bust-up was with Jackie Goldschneider who wrote the article bashing her parenting skills.  In a comical moment, Jackie allowed Jennifer to use her restroom before heading to a vineyard, but it was not up to the latter’s standards.  “What a dump,” Aydin complained after getting a look at the restroom. Restroom Wars could be a good TV format for Bravo! “After Jackie came into my house and used it against me, you think I’m gonna pass up the opportunity to see her house? I don’t think so,” Jennifer said in a confessional.  While on the bus, Jennifer started dishing out gifts she brought back from Turkey, but she turned to Margaret and uttered the following: “Yours got lost in the mail along with the mail-order bride that never was.” This was in response to Margaret’s ill-timed comments that Jennifer’s brother was getting married to a mail-order bride.  Margaret could not respond because she was blindsided.  What did Jennifer buy Jackie?  A dagger. Yes, really! Well, Jennifer said it was “an ancient Turkish dagger that people used when they wanted to stab people in the back, so I figured I can give you something tangible, so the next time, I can see you coming.” But Jackie refused the gift, saying she did not want the”passive-aggressive gift.” What followed was the women literally throwing the dagger back and forth at each other.  Thankfully, the pair made things right, but Jennifer continued to pursue Margaret.  When the ladies got drunk at the vineyard, Margaret started chatting about how she met her current husband, Joe.  “He was married at the time, and she thought he was gonna leave his wife,” Margaret shared, while Jennifer laughed and said, “I see a pattern here.” “What’s the pattern?” Margaret quizzed.  “Your mother was with a married man, and you were with a married man,” Jennifer shot back. “That’s not a pattern. That’s called a coincidence,” Margaret complained.  Jennifer then tried to take back her comments, but Margaret was not ready to let this feud die out and complained about Jennifer’s brother and his marriage.  “I’m just saying, culturally, it’s very hard to relate to,” Margaret explained. “So you can’t relate to people who have setup marriages, and I can’t relate to people who have affairs with married men,” Jennifer fired back. “Who sleeps in the f–king pool house?! Who sleeps in the pool house?!” screamed Margaret who was getting irate at Jen’s existence.  “You avoid making comments on something that you don’t understand, and I’ll avoid making comments on things that I don’t understand, like breaking up a family!” Jennifer yelled.  Later in the episode, the ladies attended an event for Milania that celebrated her song’s release, and there were fireworks.  Danielle previously told Teresa that Margaret said she was not to trust Teresa or Melissa Gorga.  “I never said that,” Margaret said. “You did, and we discussed that at my house right before we had the bachelorette party,” Danielle replied. Margaret said that Staub said to her, “I don’t know who to trust,” and that her response was, “Well then don’t trust anybody.”  Margaret eventually walked off because she was tired of the drama.  That’s when the husbands started arguing.  Marty told Joe that Margaret was “jealous” of Danielle and that “Margaret doesn’t wanna walk into a room with Danielle because nobody will look at Margaret.” Joe did not take that too well, and Joe Gorga stepped in to prevent him from punching Marty.  What the hell, right? The Real Housewives of New Jersey continues Wednesdays on Bravo.  View Slideshow: Teresa Giudice: Filing For Divorce Once Joe Gets Deported?!

Mike Sorrentino In Prison: Details of The Situation’s First Day Behind Bars

He's known this day was coming for several months, but it seems all that mental preparation didn't make it any easier for Mike Sorrentino to report to prison on Tuesday morning. As you may recall,  The Situation pled guilty to tax fraud back in January of 2018 after investigators accused him of failing to pay taxes on more than $9 million in earnings. The Jersey Shore star had hoped to avoid jail time through a plea deal, but in October,  Sorrentino was sentenced to 8 months behind bars. Earlier this week, the Sitch reported to prison to begin doing his time. But first, he sent a final message to his millions of social media followers — many of whom bombarded him with questions about what he's expecting from life on the inside. Here's what we know so far about Mike's first day in the big house: 1. Sad Situation Prior to his latest legal entanglements, Mike Sorrentino’s life was on the upswing. 2. Turning It Around After years of reckless living, Mike got sober, reconnected with his college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, and returned to TV thanks to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. 3. Too Little, Too Late Sadly, Mike’s past has caught up with him, and his misdeeds have now cost him his freedom. 4. Facing the Music In January of 2018, Mike pled guilty to tax fraud after an investigation revealed that he had failed to pay taxes on more than $9 million in earnings. 5. Making Things Right The year that followed was probably the most eventful and productive of Mike’s life. 6. Making Up For Lost Time He proposed and got married to Pesce, filmed two seasons of Shore, and continued to volunteer at rehab facilities and sober living houses. View Slideshow

OVOXO No More: Fans Are Convinced The Weeknd Is Taking Shots At Drake On “Lost in the Fire”

Source: Ollie Millington / Getty Did The Weeknd Just Take Some Shots At Drake And His Baby? The Weeknd  appears on Gesaffelstein’s “Lost in the Fire,” which just dropped late Thursday night–but how good the song sounds isn’t the only thing people have been talking about since its release. One specific lyric on the track has some fans convinced that The Weekend is taking some pretty serious shots at  Drake . Without wasting any time, Abel presumably mentions Drizzy right in the first verse as he sings about wanting to have “a baby with the right one” because he could never be the one to hide his kid. For pretty obvious reasons, that has been interpreted by most as a jab at Drake, whose once-secret child was revealed during his beef with Pusha-T last year. And I just want a baby with the right one (I just want a baby with the right) ‘Cause I could never be the one to hide one (I could never be the one to hide) I guess The Weeknd hasn’t heard that Drake most definitely isn’t hiding his kid from the world, but rather, he’s hiding the world from his kid–well, according to Drake , anyway. Though Drake and The Weeknd have been close and collaborated heavily in the past, they’ve also had their share of disagreements–like when Drake was reportedly dating The Weeknd’s then-ex girlfriend Bella Hadid. Abel hasn’t yet commented on whether or not this line is about Drake but, let’s be honest…he probably won’t, and it definitely (allegedly) is. Maybe all of this public backlash over Drizzy hiding his kid will make him post a picture of Adonis sometime soon. But until then, here’s how fans reacted to The Weeknd’s jabs on “Lost in the Fire.”   Weeknd really subbing Drake on here too about hiding a baby man. Teairra Mari Ordered To Pay 50 Cent $30K After Losing Revenge Porn Lawsuit

Source: John Lamparski/ Getty/ Gabriel Olsen/FilmMagic / Getty Teairra Mari Loses Sex Tape Lawsuit To 50 Cent Teairra Mari recently suffered a huge loss in court that’s going to cost her a substantial amount of money. As previously reported the “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” star sued 50 Cent and her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad after explicit footage was released of her post-fellatio with semen on her face.  Teairra alleged that Akbar released the revenge porn without her consent and 50 made matters worse by reposting the clip to his 18 million Instagram followers. Lisa Bloom represented Teairra in the case and a part of it played out on LHHH. Now according to The Blast who obtained court documents, Teairra’s going to have to pay up because she lost the case—to 50 at least. A judge dismissed all claims against 50 and ordered her to pay him $30,000. Why? Well because 50’s lawyers successfully argued that by the time 50 reposted the image it was readily available online. Furthermore, it didn’t show genitals or a sexual act in progress. The Blast didn’t clarify however if Teairra’s case against Akbar is ongoing. Teairra argued that Akbar personally logged into her Instagram to send out the sexually explicit content in an effort to humiliate and degrade her. Things could have been much, much worse for Teairra, 50 wanted her to pay his entire $161,660.15 legal bill. Luckily the judge reduced it to $30,618. Still, that’s gotta sting. We’re sure 50’s concocting a super petty, out of pocket post for his Instagram.   What do YOU think about Teairra losing her revenge porn lawsuit to 50???
