Last month, Mackenzie Standifer welcomed her second child, a boy named Jagger Ryan Edwards. Sadly, the boy's father and namesake (Ryan Edwards, not Mick Jagger) was unable to be there for his son's birth. Edwards is in rehab being treated for a severe addiction to heroin. It looks as though he'll remain there for quite some time, and though the treatment might literally save his life, it seems Mackenzie is NOT happy about it. Take a look: 1. Troubled From the Start We would begin by discussing a simpler time in Ryan and Mackenzie’s relationship — but really, these two have had issues since day one. 2. Wedding Woes Ryan famously passed out while driving to his wedding with Mackenzie. Shortly thereafter, he checked into rehab for the first time. 3. The Relapse He left treatment ahead of schedule and relapsed within weeks. That’s when the real downward spiral began. 4. Fighting the Law and Losing Ryan was arrested three times in less than 18 months for possession charges and probation violations. 5. Bottoming Out On one recent occasion, Ryan spent nearly a full week behind bars. Shortly thereafter, he checked into rehab again. 6. A Fresh Start This time around, Ryan decided to remain in treatment for 90 days. And thus far, reports of his progress have been promising. View Slideshow
Even though Larissa made Colt’s mom cry on this week’s 90 Day Fiance , she’s not the only target for the wrath of viewers. Kalani’s sister and her father have both been the targets of intense fan criticism over how they treated Asuelu in the episode. So Kalani took to social media to defend her family. She also took her social media private to block out the haters. Kalani does not have time for haters who are coming after her family. On this week’s episode, Asuelu met Kalani’s family and began his uphill battle towards being accepted. It didn’t help that he took Kalani’s virginity and impregnated her while she was on vacation. (That’s not a way to start things off on the right foot with someone’s deeply Mormon family, folks) But Kalani’s sister also resented his sudden intrusion into the family — and the fact that he had cheated on Kalani. Kalani’s dad had … other, more complicated concerns. First, Kalani defended her sister, Kolini, after fans gave her a hard time for resenting baby Oliver’s dad. “My sister WAS Oliver’s dad for his first five months,” Kalani writes on Instagram. “She watched him when I had to go back to work for Asuelu’s papers,” she says. “She bought all of the s–t I didn’t get from my baby shower,” she adds. Kalani continues: “and let me skip rent/bills when I had to buy his plane tickets for his interviews and doctor’s appointments.” That is one hell of a supportive sister — and a supportive aunt. Kalani makes it clear that Asuelu deserved some of her sister’s ire. “Asuelu wasn’t paid in coconuts, dumbasses,” Kalani says of her baby daddy’s job. “He made $600 American a month,” she shares. “With no bills.” “As a sister, if you know you’re throwing downtime and money to help your nephew,” she says. Kalani continues: “and know that the father isn’t helping in ways that he could — YOU’D BE SALTY TOO!” Yep. As we mentioned, things were a little more complicated for Kalani’s father. Her dad didn’t want her to be with a Samoan man, which sounds racist until you remember that he himself is Samoan. “You know how I feel about you being with my kind of people,” he told her on 90 Day Fiance . “It’s just the way I was born and raised,” he said. “It’s a fast life here and it’s a slow life there.” That sounds like internalized racism — when people absorb prejudices about themselves — and fans were upset. Kalani says that some of her statements about her dad wanting her to be with “white men” were taken out of context. (We absolutely had to include this — both Asuelu and baby Oliver’s first Halloween!) 90 Day Fiance is absolutely no stranger to scenes in which things were taken out of context. We don’t think that Kalani thinks that white men offer more stability than Samoan men. We hope that her father doesn’t really feel that way. It is totally understandable that Kalani opted to make her Instagram private after dealing with all of that backlash following this week’s episode. We all might wish that her family had been a little more open to Asuelu, but that doesn’t make them monsters. View Slideshow: 90 Day Fiance: Meet the Season 6 Couples!
If you’ve been anywhere near an internet-enabled device in the past 24 hours then we probably don’t need to tell mid-term elections are being held in America today. A more smug site might tell you that if you haven’t voted already, you should stop reading this article and go do so, but we know this is 2018, and you’re not sitting in front of a massive fat-backed monitor with a blinking green cursor, so feel free to take this article with you to the polls and read it on your phone in line! After all, there are lots of reasons to perform your civic duty, not the least of which is that all the cool kids are doing it, including a freshly-rehabbed Demi Lovato! Yes, Demi posted on Instagram for the first time since July today. The singer broke her silence in order to encourage her fans to get out and vote! As you’re probably aware, Demi suffered a near-fatal overdose over the summer, and she spent the three months that followed hospitals and rehab facilities. As far as we know, Lovato left rehab late last week. Over the weekend, she was spotted out and about with new boyfriend Henry Levy, marking the first time that the singer has been seen in public since she nearly lost her life in July. There has been concern about Demi and Henry’s relationship , as Levy is a newly-rehabbed former addict himself. Sources close to Demi say there’s nothing to worry about, as Henry has been sober for the better part of a year, but like Demi, he’s also been in and out of rehab numerous times. “He used to have a drug problem,” one insider recently told Radar Online. “He used to like to party.” The source adds that these days, Levy is “sober and straight-edge.” It’s great that he’s taking the necessary steps to regain his health, but there are many good reasons that addiction specialists caution their patients against forming close relationships early in the recovery process, particularly with fellow addicts. But hey, today we’re choosing to focus on the bright side. Demi is reclaiming her life, and all over the country, Americans are reclaiming their democracy! It’s been three months since Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that nearly claimed her life. After spending over a week in the hospital detoxing and recovering from the physical damage she had endured, Demi relocated to a treatment facility in Arizona. Lovato isn’t taking any chances this around, spending most of her time in Arizona, but also taking regular trips to Chicago, where she consults with the team of specialists who helped her get sober the first time around. ( Lovato celebrated six years of sobriety just prior to her most recent relapse.) While the process is reportedly going as well as can be expected, those who know the singer best say she’ll be remaining in treatment for quite some time, just to be safe. In fact, fans shouldn’t expect to see Demi making any public appearances prior to 2019. “Demi is taking her sobriety extremely serious, and knows she has a long road ahead of her,” a source close to the situation tells Entertainment Tonight. “At the end of the day, Demi is doing this for herself. “She has to stay sober for her, but every time she has family or friends visit her it reminds her of all the other important people in her life that she needs to fight for as well.” On Maria Menounos’ podcast this week Lovato’s mother, Dianna De La Garza, revealed that Demi is 90 days sober and fully committed to the lifelong work of recovery. “I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, it’s work,” she said of Lovato’s road to recovery. “It’s not easy. There are no shortcuts.” Insiders say Lovato looks back on her sober years as the happiest time of her life, and she’s determined to get back there. “Demi is thankful she’s still alive and is doing whatever she can to never get to that point again,” says one source. It certainly won’t be easy, but it sounds like Demi is very much up to the task. We wish her all the best as she continues in her recovery process. We have a couple of important updates on the whereabouts and conditions of Demi Lovato. Following multiple reports that claimed the artist was seeking treatment far away from the bad influences that plagued her life for months in Los Angeles, we can now confirm the following: This is accurate. Lovato is in Utah. According to Radar Online, the 26-year old is recovering from her near-fatal overdose, along with her substance abuse problem in general, somewhere in the Salt Lake City area. She’s in a treatment faclity for certain, but it’s one that offers its residents a great deal of freedom. To wit, an employee at a local coffee shop says Lovato has often stopped by at various points in the last few weeks. “She seemed happy to be out getting fresh air,” this worker told Radar, adding of Demi : “The other day, she sat alone for like 30 minutes staring out the window. But it looked like she was hopeful and in good spirits.” The first photo of Lovato out and about seems to back up this claim. In an image posted by TMZ on Saturday, Lovato is holding a cup of coffee, wearing a baseball cap and talking to a lady whose holding a dog on a leash. The snapshot (which you can see here ) was taken two months, almost to the day, after Lovato was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills bedroom. An assistant discovered the singer in this state and dialed 911, prompting paramedics to rush to the scene; revive the superstar; and transport her to the hospital. Demi had been out the night before with some friends and then called her drug dealer upon arriving back at her residence; it remains unknown exactly what she snorted or smoked or injected that caused her to pass out. But insiders do say she appears to be doing well all these weeks later. “Demi has lost some weight and she’s feeling better,” a source tells Us Weekly, expounding as follows: “She’s repositioning herself again and getting her life back on track and retraining herself on the 12 steps to recovery. She is doing much better and eventually she will come back to L.A.” This trip marks the third time Lovato has checked into rehab. Those close to the singer hope that coming so very close to dying will serve as the wake-up call she finally needs to hopefully kick her dangerous habit forever. Prior to falling off the wagon this spring, Lovato had been sober for six years. Just a few days ago, Lovato’s mom spoke out for the first time since the horrifying overdose, opening up about how close she came to losing her daughter . “We just didn’t know for two days if she was going to make it or not,” Dianna De La Garza said. Back on August 5, meanwhile, Lovato broke her own silence and issued the following statement on Instagram: I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet. I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time. I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time. Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you. View Slideshow: Demi Lovato: 19 Candid Confessions from Her Documentary
(Photo by Brandon Williams/Getty Images) Dianna De La Garza Speaks On Demi Lovato’s Overdose Dianna De La Garza, Demi Lovato’s mom , describes the emotional night she heard news her daughter overdosed. She said she was too weak to drive to the hospital and thinks the prayers from fans are what helped save Demi’s life. Heavy stuff. Dianna says Demi is doing well. That’s great news! Demi also gave her blessing on her mom to speak on her, and the opioid crisis.
It’s been over a month since Demi Lovato suffered a heroin overdose that nearly claimed her life. During that time, the singer has been proactive about seeking the sort of treatment that might prevent her from coming so close to tragedy a second time. These days, Lovato is in rehab, and sources say she’s fully devoted to the hard work of recovery. Not only has Demi checked herself into an in-patient treatment facility in Arizona, she’s also been making regular trips to Chicago to meet with the team of therapists who helped her to get sober for the first time, six years ago. Of course, in some respects, it’s easier for someone in Demi’s position to put everything on hold in order to focus on self-care. After all, most addicts don’t have the luxury of taking months off work and checking into a pricey rehab center. But in other ways, Lovato’s battle with substance abuse is complicated by her wealth and fame. Sources close to the pop star say all the touring and performing made it easier for her to fall back in with the wrong crowd, and it was reportedly one of Demi’s backup dancers who provided her with the drugs on which she overdosed. Now that Demi is taking a break from presiding over a one-woman media empire in order to focus on herself, she has to trust that the people she’s hired will uphold their responsibilities in her absence. And sadly, it seems she may have placed her trust in the wrong people. “Her bodyguards have taken over her house,” a neighbor of Demi’s told Radar Online this week. “They’re the same two men who are with her around-the-clock when she’s home,” the source adds. “They have been living at her house since she was hospitalized. The insider says not only do the men appear to be treating the property as their own, they’ve also invited multiple female guests to join the party. “They’re there and so are two women who are possibly their girlfriends or wives,” the source adds. “Demi must really trust them because these two men have taken over her house completely and haven’t left since she was hospitalized.” Unfortunately, it seems there’s little that can be done about the situation, as Demi placed her trust in her bodyguards, and no one wants to alarm her with reports of their behavior. Here’s hoping the guys don’t do too much damage to the place. Lovato fans are a passionate lot, and you really don’t want to make them angry. I know I’m not supposed to point out Demi Lovato ‘s chunk anymore, because it’s “offensive” or “rude” or something like that, but when she does stuff like this, she kind of brings it on herself. Anyway, according to my sources, these shots are from Demi’s latest tour stop in New Jersey and that’s her opening act Kehlani she’s crushing with those meaty thighs of hers. I’d say I’d love to switch places with her, but I have a phobia of being trapped under chunky pop stars. It’s safer just watching from here.
Just a few weeks ago, Demi Lovato teased that she had big news coming up. Now, her announcement is here — she's embarking on a new tour! As you can see in the video (and photos) below, she's grabbing the attention of her fans by rolling around in lingerie. Hey, it works. Demi Lovato looks absolutely stunning — as always — in this short video. The former Disney star has opened up about her eating disorder struggles in the past. She's opened about her personal mental health battle, sharing her story with the world in the hopes that she can reach some fans and show them that they're not alone. She's also been candid enough to share before and after photos from her eating disorder . But the incredibly courageous Demi Lovato's new Instagram upload is less about sharing her pain and her journey and more about making an announcement. The 25-year-old singer is announcing the South American leg of her “Tell Me You Love Me” tour. Every time that she shares a tidbit about her international tour, it becomes more and more all-encompassing. And that's great. Fans all around the world deserve to have the full Demi Lovato experience. We said that this teaser is more about making an announcement, but she's also flaunting her incredibly sexy look in white lingerie in the process. Demi Lovato's journey to love and embrace her body has really paid off. This is a woman who flaunts her curves but also exercises regularly and maintains healthy habits to keep her body just the way that she wants it. This entire video, as you're about to see, is an unending thirst trap. Which sort of makes its “Go tell your mother” text, a lyric from her “Cool for the Summer” hit from a couple of years back, a little awkward. If you're not a frequenter of social media — particularly Twitter — you may not be aware that South America is easily the most vocal continent when it comes to appealing to singers and imploring them to tour. Okay, we say South America, and that's true, but mostly we just mean the nation of Brazil. We've seen #ComeToBrazil hashtags driven by eager fans since Twitter was in its nascency, directed at every celebrity under the sun. It's probably safe to say that Demi Lovato can likely expect packed shows and excited fans. And warm weather. Demi's fans responded well to the announcement. Aside from one-word responses like “wow” and “babe” and emoji-laden responses of hearts and heart eyes alike, she received comments like: “She's just. So. Perfect.” “Damn you are fine wife material.” “Holy moley . I love you and your incredible voice.” Another fan commented: “Don't forget Asia!” We're sure that she won't. And, after seeing this video, we absolutely can't wait to see how Demi will announce that leg of the tour.
