Demi Moore is looking REAL skinny these days, but she’s also looking happier than you might think, according to people who saw her at a recent shindig. Maybe reports of her marital struggles have been exaggerated. Maybe Mariah Yeater has replaced Sara Leal as celebrity gold-digging skank du jour. Whatever the reason, Moore was all smiles at Friday’s A-list-packed Lanvin (Hearts) LA fashion show and dinner at Casa Carondelet in Los Angeles. Supposedly reeeling after husband Ashton Kutcher’s alleged affair with 22-year-old Sara Leal , the actress, 48, “looked skinny but happy” at the intimate event. The Margin Call actress was “very chatty” with fellow celebs at the party, adds the witness : “Demi came across the runway to kiss and say hi to Katie Holmes.” Later in the evening, Zoe Saldana made a similar trip across the runway to kiss and greet Moore, who also chatted with Lanvin’s designer, Alber Elbaz. “The whole vibe was super friendly and relaxed,” adds the witness. Moore wore “nerdy glasses, but [she] looked amazing. She stayed for the whole dinner.” Close pals say Moore – who is also accused of cheating – has had good days and bad days in her marriage lately, but all has been relatively quiet of late. By Matt Harper Demi Lovato sings the National Anthem prior to Game 5 of the 2011 World Series Photo: MLB/Getty Fifteen minutes before taking the field to sing the national anthem near her hometown of Dallas at Game 5 of the World Series, Demi Lovato admitted to MTV News just how nervous she was. “I feel like I’m about to jump out of a plane,” the young star confided nervously after warming up her vocals in a back room deep in the heart of Arlington, Texas’ Rangers Ballpark. “Although this is a lot safer.” MTV News got the opportunity to spend the day with Demi as she prepped for the big moment. Minutes before stepping out in front of 51,000 people, she was cracking jokes, but it was plain to see that she was nervous — extremely excited, but definitely nervous. Just seventeen minutes later, and Demi’s smile said everything you needed to know about how her performance went. Standing on the field watching the 19-year-old belt out the notoriously difficult song, it was hard not to get swept up in the emotion of it all. Even before the end of the anthem, hitting a particularly difficult note in stride, the crowd erupted in premature cheering. As fireworks erupted and the crowd stood cheering, Demi left the field smiling. As we walked through the back hallways of the stadium, we were stopped every few feet by fans, athletes and MLB officials telling Demi how amazing she had done. After posing for photos with a few fans, Demi was approached by Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp, who had also just left the field after being given the 2011 Hank Aaron Award as the most outstanding offensive player in the National League. Kemp took a moment to congratulate Demi and ask for a picture with her. Finally back in the green room, Demi was able to stop and think back on the whirlwind 20 minutes. Her family and friends were all there to support her, and they gushed about seeing the performance on TV and how clearly moved the players and fans were. In the company of her support circle, Demi was able to relax and laugh and let the nervous energy of the day roll away. All that was left was to sit back and spend time with the people that she cared about the most — and cheer on the Rangers, of course. We all traveled to our seats to watch the World Series game, and Demi sat in-between her aunt and one of her childhood friends, with other relatives and close friends flanking her on either side. For the next few hours, Demi got to watch the exciting game like the rest of the 50,999 fans in the stadium, eating popcorn and standing up to cheer as the Texas Rangers’ Mike Napoli got the final out of the game to seal Texas’ 4-2 win over the St-Louis Cardinals. Unbroken singer tells MTV News that fans can expect Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 covers; hints at plans for 2012 world tour. On Monday, the “Skyscraper” singer sang the national anthem at the World Series , she’ll be performing alongside Lady Gaga at Z100’s Jingle Ball concert in December and she’s gearing up to hit the road for 10 tour dates beginning next month. “[I’m] very excited,” Lovato told MTV News about heading out for the first time since leaving the Jonas Brothers’ tour to seek treatment for personal issues last November. The 19-year-old has already given fans a sneak peek at what can expect from her during two recent shows in New York and in Los Angeles. “We’re gonna do the same show, but a little bit different … better and bigger, and my fans just have to come check it out,” Lovato said of the dates beginning November 16 in Detroit. “We were just experimenting with the show and trying to see how it all played out and give my fans something that will bait them in for the tour.” Lovato will be performing songs off her Unbroken album, plus her fan favorite rendition of Lil Wayne’s “How to Love.” But Wayne won’t be the only artist she covers onstage. “I’m thinking of maybe a Maroon 5 or Lady Gaga cover,” Lovato revealed. “I like ‘Born this Way’ and ‘Moves Like Jagger,’ I’d want to perform one of those.” If Lovato isn’t heading to your hometown this time around, no need to worry, it looks like she’ll be back on the road sooner than expected. “I’m planning on a world tour next year,” Lovato told us. While it’s still unconfirmed when Lovato will kick off that world tour, she already has an opening act in mind. “You know who I did see the other day on the Internet was that little girl Sophia Grace,” Lovato said of the eight-year-old U.K. sensation who gained YouTube fame with her cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass.” “She’s so cute, maybe she can open up for me,” Demi said. Apart from singing skills, Grace and Lovato have at least one more thing in common: their love for Nicki Minaj. “I just love that she can rap and sing,” Lovato said of the Queens rapper. “You know, a lot of people can just rap and she can rap and sing and she has a really good voice. She’s fun; she doesn’t take herself too seriously. A lot of artists take themselves way too seriously. It’s hard to find artists that just want to have fun these days, and that’s what she does.” Does that mean Demi would want Minaj to hit the road with her? “She would be amazing. Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama are totally back on again. Or at least they were for one night. Onlookers tell Life & Style that this seemingly random couple – who were an alleged item earlier this year – showed up together on October 22 at a party hosted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane… and were all over each other! “They showed up together and made no effort to hide that they’re back together,” an witness tells the tabloid . “They were stealing kisses throughout the night, holding hands and just seemed to enjoy being together.” Valderrama, 31, has dated pretty much every young woman in Hollywood, from Lindsay Lohan to Mandy Moore to Jennifer Love Hewitt. But that appears to make no difference to Lovato, 19, who this source says “couldn’t seem happier” about the fling. No, she won’t be suiting up and taking the mound; the “Skyscraper” songstress will be belting out the national anthem before Monday night’s (October 24) game verses the St. Louis Cardinals. “I’m so excited,” Lovato recently told MTV News of singing the “Star-Spangled Banner.” “I just nearly died when I found out. I cannot wait.” Lovato said she wouldn’t have been able to sing the national anthem at the game if it weren’t for her loyal Lovatics. She recently tweeted , “Only my lovatics could land me a spot singing the national anthem at the WORLD SERIES!!!! I couldn’t do it without you guys!!!!” So how did Lovato’s fans land her the chance to sing before her hometown crowd? “My fans were actually the ones that sent a petition saying, like, ‘Can we get Demi to sing the national anthem?’ and sent it to the MLB and the Rangers’ Twitter, and they saw it and they called,” Lovato said. “So without my fans’ support, I wouldn’t be singing the national anthem.” Now, after her performance, Lovato will be cheering on her team — but don’t ask her to pick a favorite Ranger. She is just hoping for a win. “I don’t have a favorite player,” she said. “I support my home team.” Lovato isn’t the only star to sing the national anthem at the World Series this year: “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery and Zooey Deschanel have both lent their vocals before the big game. Unbroken singer tells MTV News she ‘tried to make it a little more empowering.’ By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: MTV News Demi Lovato is back to performing live. And in addition to singing tracks off of her just-released album Unbroken , she’s also dazzling crowds with her stirring first-person rendition of Lil Wayne’s “How to Love.” Video of her singing the track has become a viral smash, and when MTV News caught up with the “Skyscraper” singer on Wednesday afternoon (September 21), she seemed pumped to talk about the cover. “I just loved the way that Lil Wayne took a risk doing the song ‘How to Love,’ and when I really listened to it, it’s such a great song.” The song is about a damaged young woman who has never really known the power of true love, but finds strengths in her experiences as the song closes out. Lovato found a female empowerment theme in the single and decided to perform it as the female character. “It has such a deep meaning to it and I wanted to perform that and I put a little spin on it and tried to make it a little more empowering,” she explained. “And I think it fit with the platform and the message that I have with my fans.” So, has Lovato heard from Wayne about her acoustic version? “No, I haven’t,” she said. “If I did, I would die of happiness.” Lovato was equally excited when we asked whether fans might soon catch her performing the track onstage with Wayne. “Oh, I don’t know,” she said. “Oh my gosh, that would be amazing.
