Tori Spelling’s husband, Dean McDermott, has entered rehab and issued a vague apology for his mistakes and the pain that he has caused his family. The reality star doesn’t overtly admit his infidelity, but amid the cascade of rumors over the past month, the writing is on the wall in McDermott’s mea culpa . “I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family,” McDermott, who is accused of cheating on Tori last month, tells People . “I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues,” he adds. Without mentioning Emily Goodhand , he concludes, “I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.” The specifics are vague, but McDermott, 47, is said to be receiving intense treatment. He is still allowed to leave to visit his and Spelling’s four children. He and Spelling are parents to Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 1. “Their priority right now is their children,” a source says of the family, which has understandably been rankled by the events that went down in Toronto. McDermott was in the Canadian city filming Chopped Canada when he met and slept with Emily Goodhand two nights in a row … according to Goodhand. She took the story public, and Tori, 40, is said to be crushed. Earlier this month, a friend of Tori said that Spelling was heartbroken and “devastated … much more than anyone realized” about the situation with Dean. She’s been putting on a good front , and is said to be staying strong for her kids, but the friend added: “She could stay with him or not. Alison Sweeney is moving on from fake television drama to real-life drama at home. The actress and Biggest Loser host announced during a taping of Ellen (which airs today) that she is leaving Days of Our Lives after 21 years as Samantha Brady. Sweeney emphasizes her love for Sami and Salem and the job and her fans… but told the host she hasn’t had more than a two-week vacation in decades and also has two adorable reasons to bid farewell at this time of her life. “My daughter just turned 5 and my son is 9, and I just want to be with them and enjoy my last year,” she said, adding that she’ll stick around for almost all of 2014. Sweeney isn’t sure what she’ll do next, but her second book is coming out soon and she’d love to direct. But she mainly just yearns to be at home with her husband and her kids for a bit. How would she like Sami to go out? “I mean, it would be awesome to have some kind of happy ending, but then I also think Sami probably deserves some sort of very twisted like Breaking Bad ending,” she joked. “Sami has certainly caused he fair share of drama over the last 21 years. The latter’s rep confirmed the engagement to People magazine, though detailed of exactly when and how Foster popped the question are unknown at this time. This will be the third marriage for Wright, who was wed to Sean Penn for 13 years (the ex-couple has two children) and Dane Witherspoon for one year. Both stars also have big projects on the way: Foster will play Lance Armstrong in a biopic about the cyclist, while Wright will star on House of Cards Season 2 , which comes out on February 14.
