Following the conviction of William Balfour for murdering three members of her family, Jennifer Hudson released a statement that passed along prayers to Balfour’s family and thanked her fans for their love and support. At a charity event in New York for the Samsung Hope for Children last night, meanwhile, Hudson spoke out about the verdict for the first time. “It’s definitely changed me and put me in the mindset of a mom, and, as before, it makes you think of the future of our children,” Hudson told E! News, bringing the topic back to the cause at hand and also her own charity, the Julian King Foundation. “This is the perfect place to do that; it’s like starting a new beginning and closing a chapter.” Jennifer’s charity benefits underprivileged children in the Chicago area and she will hold a fundraiser for it on her late nephew’s birthday, August 14. But Hudson is also focused on her future as an artist and a singer. “I’m getting started on my third album this summer, and I have a few films in the works. I’m now just getting back out there and into my rhythm again, so one day at a time.”

It was an unofficial and unexpected passing of the ‘Anger Management’ torch between Sheen and Sandler backstage with MTV News. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlie Sheen and Adam Sandler backstage at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — All manner of Golden Popcorn trophies were passed around on the stage of the Gibson Amphitheatre at the MTV Movie Awards this year, but there were plenty of wins to be found behind the scene as well — such as the one between comedy titans Adam Sandler and Charlie Sheen. MTV News’ Josh Horowitz spoke with Sandler, Andy Samberg and Leighton Meester backstage at the Movie Awards and asked them all about their upcoming comedy “That’s My Boy.” The hard-R-rated comedy has been a hot topic in our circle all week long (we hosted an exclusive premiere of “That’s My Boy” during Sneak Peek Week, you’ll recall), and this was one of our first opportunities to speak with Sandler about the flick — but the Happy Madison founder left it to his younger co-star Samberg to summarize what fans can expect from the film. “Do you like raucous rock-and-roll humor that makes you whizz your pants with laughter? Then maybe you should see this movie,” the former “SNL” star advised. Speaking of raucous rock-and-roll humor, the “That’s My Boy” interview reached an abrupt conclusion when party boy Charlie Sheen , on hand to bestow Instant Cult Classic status upon found-footage party movie “Project X,” unexpectedly showed up to meet and greet his old friend, Sandler. “Charlie!” Sandler happily reacted. “Me and Charlie, baby! Good to see you!” Sheen, subdued but pleased, embraced his old pal and kept chatting with him as he passed by. “I gotta go get assigned to my seat, man,” he said. “Are you here all night?” While the two were speaking, Samberg couldn’t help but observe a secret connection between the reunited actors: Sheen is starring in an adaptation of “Anger Management,” Sandler’s 2003 comedy of the same name. “This is as exclusive as it gets, you guys,” Samberg laughed at the camera. ” ‘Anger Management’ franchise much?” When Sandler returned to the “That’s My Boy” interview, he laughingly brushed off the jabs Samberg was sending his way. “Charlie and I were hanging,” he grinned. “What do you need from me? That’s an old friend! We’re old friends, man! You’re new friends!” “Un-be- ree -vable,” Samberg said with feigned disappointment. Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. ‘Breaking Dawn’ stars talk to MTV News about the ‘honor’ of meeting Jodie Foster, who presented the Movie of the Year award. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — On Sunday night at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards , the cast of “Twilight” picked up a few more Golden Popcorn trophies to add to their collective mantle. In addition to winning Movie of the Year, they also won Best Kiss , marking fourth time the series has won in both categories. “A little tired, a little surprised, honored to be up there with [presenter] Jodie Foster and honored to be in the ranking with a lot of amazing films this year,” Jackson Rathbone told MTV News. “So thank you very much, world.” Given who they were up against in the Movie of the Year category, including “The Hunger Games,” co-star Julia Jones actually wasn’t sure they could win again. “There’s a lot of competition this year, and I think for the first time I was like ‘I don’t know.’ There’s some really amazingly large franchises now,” she said. “And I guess we’re still winning.” Rathbone added, “As we’re wrapping up, to have so much love still and you gave us a four-peat, so thank you. That’s something that not a lot of people can say.” BooBoo Stewart went on to describe how “incredible” it felt to take the stage to accept the award. “Just to be up on that stage accepting an award, in front of everybody and feeling the love from the fans was really cool.” Nikki Reed said what was even more incredible was having Foster hand them the prize. “She put her hand out after we walked offstage and I just ‘Oh my god, it’s a real honor.’ ” Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. Vampire Diaries stars Zach Roerig and Candice Accola have broken up. The two cast members, who kept their relationship off-screen very low-key, first got together in the fall of last year. Apparently it’s over now , though. No reason was given for the split, first reported by Us Weekly . In October of last year, Accola tweeted a photo of Roerig, writing, “Cheering on my man at his second paddle board race! He kicked some major a**.” Roerig also tweeted a photo of Accola in a bikini on the beach with “Go Zach!” written across her stomach. “My number one cheerleader!” he wrote. That was about it for public acknowledgements of their romance, however. Accola, 25, plays bubbly vampire Caroline Forbes on the hit CW show. Roerig, 27, plays Matt Donovan, always a fan favorite … in TVD death pools. The show definitely keeps its romances in house. After a jury found John Edwards not guilty on one count and declared itself deadlocked on another five charges on Thursday, the two-time Presidential candidate accepted full responsibility for his “sins” even as he maintained he did nothing illegal. The politician, who is unlikely to be retried for alleged campaign finance fraud, spoke emotionally about his 4-year-old daughter with mistress Rielle Hunter . Despite his sensational and stunning fall from grace, Edwards professed his love for “my precious Quinn, who I love more than any of you could ever imagine.” John Edwards Found Not Guilty “I am so close to and so, so grateful for [her] … I’m so grateful for Quinn.” It was Edwards’ alleged efforts to use illegal campaign contributions to cover up his affair with Hunter that stood at the center of his federal corruption trial. After praising the jury as “an exemplar of what jurors are supposed to do,” he said, “I want to make sure that everyone hears from me and from my voice.” “While I do not believe that I did anything illegal, or even thought I was doing anything illegal, I did an awful, awful lot that was wrong,” he said. “There is no one else responsible for my sins. I am responsible. And if I want to find the person who should be held accountable, it is me and me alone.” Edwards then praised his parents and children, including grown daughter Cate Edwards , who sat next to him throughout the trial, and spoke of his future. He said he wants to be a good father and to work with poor children. “I don’t think God’s through with me,” the 58-year-old former U.S. Senator said. “I really believe he thinks there are still some good things I can do.”
‘I will see u again Glass,’ Bieber tweets after hitting his head on a glass wall during a secret show. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Island/Def Jam When Justin Bieber was in Paris on Thursday (May 31) to perform a secret show for his fans in the lead-up to the release of his Believe album, he got a surprise of his own when he walked into a glass wall, injuring himself mid-set. According to an interview with TMZ , he bumped into the wall but was able to finish out the performance. “I was performing, and I was going offstage and, basically, I’m in Paris and performing on the tallest building in Paris, and there’s a glass wall behind me, but there’s a railing behind the glass. And so I went to reach for the railing and I hit my head on the glass,” he explained. “And I guess me and glass windows don’t really go together.” He is referring to a viral video of himself going through a glass revolving door where he hit his head from back in 2010. However, this incident was a bit more serious and he added that he “felt lightheaded,” but “my adrenaline pushed me through it and I performed the last song.” After he walked off the stage, he passed out for 15 seconds and later learned he suffered a concussion. “I feel good. I feel good,” he assured his fans. “I have a little bit of a headache, but I feel fine.” On top of clearing the air with TMZ about the incident, he was able to laugh it off on Twitter : “Thanks for the love but there are alot of people out there who need prayers. im fine. just smacked my head and needed some water. all good. im Canadian. we are tough. lol. its all good. just gotta take it easy the rest of the night. back at it again for u guys tomorrow. I have amazing fans. very grateful for your love,” he continued. “Gonna eat, rest, get some sleep and tomorrow Im back at it. The show must go on! Love yall. We got this.” Bieber had this message for the glass wall. “I will see u again Glass. I will have my revenge. BIEBER vs GLASS. MGM LAS VEGAS 2013. lol. #GottaLaughAtYourself,” he joked. While chatting with TMZ, Bieber also commented on the pandemonium he stirred up when he performed a secret show in Oslo, Norway, earlier this week , during which several young fans were injured. “Oh my goodness that was crazy. The fans were insane. I even had to go to this secret location or else they were going to cancel my show, it was crazy,” he said. “Norway’s been waiting for me to come, and I’ve never been to Norway. It was nuts.” Despite several minor setbacks on his secret-show tour, Bieber plans to continue his final 10 around the world in the lead-up to the June 19 album release. When MTV News caught up with Bieber before Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards , he threw all his support behind multi-nominee “Bridesmaids.” “I just think it was funny. It’s kind of like the female version of ‘The Hangover,’ ” he said. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now!
