‘I was mad that it wasn’t mine,’ Shanell tells Mixtape Daily of why she remixed Wayne single. By Rob Markman Shanell Photo: Vallery Jean/ FilmMagic Celebrity Favorites: Shanell And the battle of the sexes continues: Just as Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV single “How to Love” begins to heat up for the summer, Young Money’s Shanell comes along and adds a woman’s touch to the acoustic single. “I guess when I first heard the song, I was mad that it wasn’t mine, because I really liked it,” Shanell told Mixtape Daily of her motivation to remake the tune. On the Wayne version, he sings with the aid of Auto-Tune about a woman who is unable to love because of all the wrong done to her in past relationships. “You had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart, never really had luck, couldn’t never figure out how to love,” Lil Tunechi sings on the original track’s chorus. Shanell, who delivers her version of the love song without computer effects, changes the lyrics up slightly but keeps a similar feel. She sings of a man who has been damaged in the past, but instead of blaming him, Shanell excuses his adulterous behavior. “It’s really stuff that I’ve dealt with in relationships that I’ve been in,” Shanell said. “Instead of getting upset with the guy, kind of feeling bad for him. Like, ‘You’re cheating and I feel bad for you,’ rather than, ‘I’m mad at you because you just don’t know or appreciate what you have. You’re too busy trying to be like your favorite rapper.’ “I think my version wouldn’t be as great as it was if it there wasn’t [Wayne’s] version for people to hear that side of the story,” she added. After hearing Shanell’s rendition, Wayne is mulling over the idea of the two performing the song live as a duet during the second leg of his I Am Still Music Tour. “He was really, really surprised that I did it, and he thought it sounded really, really good,” she said of the YM boss’ reaction. “We’re talking about maybe even doing some sort of back and forth thing on the road, on the upcoming tour.” Whether or not that pans out, fans can still see Shanell perform some of her own songs on the road with Wayne. She estimates that she’ll be able to showcase about two songs on her own, but no plans are finalized just yet. Related Artists Lil Wayne Shanell
After months of hemming and hawing – even after his love child with Mildred Patricia Baena came to light – Maria Shriver has filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger, citing irreconcilable differences on the paperwork. The couple has been married 25 years and has no prenup. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver will split around $400 million. The official date of separation is not known, but despite Arnold’s infidelity, Shriver was reportedly torn over whether to follow through with the divorce. As recently as mid-June, Arnold wasn’t giving up on reconciliation. Shriver is asking for spousal support and for joint custody of their minor children, 17-year-old Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger and 13-year-old Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger. Their other two kids are over 18. The division of property is yet to be determined. Because there is no prenup, under California law, all earnings and other property acquired during the marriage is considered community property, which means a 50/50 split . Since the couple has been married for a quarter century, it’s likely that all their property will be considered communal, even if Arnold’s net worth is higher. In any case, their divorce will never go to trial and will be settled out of court after what will surely be extensive negotiations on behalf of their attorneys. The terms will also be confidential.

The Sperminator ain’t the only baller with “outside kids!” It has been revealed that the very banging Salma Hayek has a hubby, billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, who knocked up Linda Evangelista at the same time that he got her pregnant with their daughter Valentina. SHOCKING!!! Guess this guy doesn’t believe in rubbers. Here’s the details: The father of supermodel Linda Evangelista’s 4-year-old boy is none other than billionaire Frenchman Francois-Henri Pinault — who just happens to be the husband of actress Salma Hayek, The Post has learned. Despite Evangelista’s rep denying Pinault’s paternity when confronted with it by The Post’s Page Six back in October 2007, the Victoria’s Secret stunner came to court yesterday in hopes of hashing out a support agreement with Pinault, the father of the boy, Augustin James. The Manhattan magistrate’s court action confirms that the two-timing Pinault — CEO of the $28 billion conglomerate that owns Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Yves St. Laurent — is the daddy to two 4-year-olds by different world-famous beauties. One is Valentina, acknowledged and cared for by her parents, Pinault and Hayek, who jet between France, New York and LA. The other is Evangelista’s boy, unacknowledged by both the mogul and his actress wife, who has repeatedly insisted in interviews that Pinault has only three children — Valentina and two from his previous marriage to his first wife. Evangelista, 46, herself has zealously guarded the love child’s paternity, even lying to protect Pinault. A year after “Augie’s” birth, she was claiming in interviews that the father was “a New York architect.” He rep at DNA Model Management, Didier Fernandez, called the Pinault paternity rumor “untrue” when confronted with it by Page Six in 2007. Yesterday was the model’s third or fourth trip to Family Court, and no agreement was reached, making a fall support trial looking likely, according to a court source. Evangelista left glumly without commenting to a reporter. Pinault, 49, was a no-show, but that was due to a misunderstanding, said his lawyer, David Aronson. “We had understood that it was to be a brief, telephone conference, to bring Magistrate Troy up to date on what the status was,” Aronson told The Post when asked about the court date yesterday. Evangelista’s lawyer, William Beslow, had no comment Evangelista and Pinault conceived their boy in early 2006, when Pinault was reportedly separated from then-gal pal Hayek, whom he wed in 2009. Damn Salma, don’t be blinded by the d*ck! It ain’t the kids fault your hubby is a dirty rotten cheating moneybags scoundrel… We hope Salma’s hubby does right by that kid and that Valentina gets to know her brother Augustin. If Weezy’s baby mamas can do it, Salma and Linda should be able to also. Just sayin’. Source

‘Gagapanda’ jokes she’s ‘been eating a lot of bamboo this week’ before revealing plans for 2012 tour, having babies and more. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga appears on the Japanese talk show “Sukkiri” Photo: Sukkiri Lady Gaga is currently in the planning stages for her next tour. After wrapping up her epic Monster Ball run earlier this year, Gaga teased her plans on a Japanese talk show on Tuesday (June 28). “All over the world and I’m already planning,” she said of the trek, which she expects to kick off at the top of 2012. “I’m so excited I can’t even go to sleep at night.” Gaga appeared wearing a black-and-white dress, with her hair done up in two buns and her eye makeup painted in two panda-like circles. “I really like pandas,” she told the hosts of her look, adding, “pandas have paws, and I always tell my fans to put their paws up. I’ve been eating a lot of bamboo this week,” she joked. (Shortly after the appearance, the singer even began referring to herself as Gagapanda on Twitter.) She then played a little game called “Yes or No,” where she was asked questions about her popularity on Twitter, her love of cooking, her clothes and more. She later elaborated on some of the topics. “My dream is to continue to make music and tour and do as much as I can to give as much back to my fans,” she said. “Personal dreams? I suppose one day I’ll have panda babies.” Gaga owned up to having one major fear, however. “The only thing I really get scared of is missing out on moments with my family ’cause I travel so much, so I call my mom and dad every day,” she said. Asked whether she was scared of ghosts, Gaga said, “No, we can be friends.” She went on to add, “I love Japanese monster movies. I actually believe in ancestors. I have a lot of family in my past like my Aunt Joann and my grandfather that have passed on and I talk to them.” What do you think of Gaga’s panda-inspired look? Tell us in the comments! ‘Even the strongest of love meets destruction at some point,’ the ex-porn star tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Sasha Grey on the set of Eminem’s “Space Bound” video Photo: Eric Ford/On Location News There have been quite a few takes on the meaning Eminem’s “Space Bound” video, in which we see two sides of a suicidal, love-torn rapper. Since the clip hit iTunes on Friday, fans have taken to comment sections dishing out theories about its meaning. Some have said this is another depiction of Em’s relationship with ex-wife Kim Mathers, while others likened the clip to a video game. And Eminem ‘s co-star in the video, Sasha Grey, has her own take on the video. Grey, who no longer works in porn, is now expanding her acting chops. She appeared, as did Em, on the seventh season of HBO’s hit series “Entourage,” and though the two never met on set, she got the offer to star in “Space Bound” at the request of the video’s director, Joseph Kahn. The clip features alternate versions of the Detroit MC, one agitated and cynical in the company of his girlfriend (played by Grey), the other more pensive and calm. “You can read into it a few different ways, but I imagine one character is actually him, and the other is his subconscious,” Grey said. Things begin to take a turn for the worse when the rapper discovers the love of his life is cheating on him. He later attacks her, then turns a gun on himself and commits suicide with a single shot through the head. “Space Bound,” like “Love the Way You Lie” depicts a tumultuous relationship in which domestic violence once again is a topic. “Em simply becomes company for her, and she mistakenly takes advantage of that,” Grey says of her character. “Before each take, Joseph and I would talk a lot about her motives and attitude. Her ultimate moment doesn’t come until the end, so I had plenty of time to build the fear!” Grey doesn’t have a clear-cut explanation of the video, but she ultimately sees “Space Bound” from a pessimistic view — hopeless romantics take heed. “I don’t know if it necessarily has a thorough message, but I think it shows that even the strongest of love meets destruction at some point,” the ex-porn star told MTV News. “Whether or not you come out of it together and whole is an entirely different question.” Related Photos Eminem’s ‘Space Bound’ Video Shoot Related Artists Eminem
Its hard out here for a female R&B singer these days, but K. Michelle is not sweating it. She has a powerful voice that has the critics comparing her to Mary J. Blige and Keyshia Cole, she takes that as a compliment. The Jive recording artist is gearing up to drop her debut album Pain Medicine , which she says is not just for the ladies but everyone can relate. Don’t let the blue hair fool you, this woman is educated and has many talents to fall back on if singing doesn’t work in her favor. K. Michelle munched on a bag of potato chips while giving me the scoop on beefing with Keyshia Cole, collaborating with her mentor R. Kelly and how becoming a mother in college didn’t stop her from obtaining her degree. I thought I liked K. Michelle before this interview but after, I think I fell in love. She kept it real and I could tell she was just being herself. Get into K. Michelle’s realness below, I am sure you all will enjoy this interview. TUD’s Jazzy F : I’m not even gone waste time, I’m just gone go right in. What’s going on between you and Keyshia Cole? There’s absolutely nothing going on with Keyshia Cole; I don’t know what her problem is with me, but I have no problem with her. I bought every single Keyshia Cole album. She continues to take shots at me, and I continue to turn the other cheek. Because this is how I feel about it: If you’re hot, nobody can take your spot. It is what it is. God gave her that spot; I can’t take it. She has a little boy, I have a little boy. I support her. I have no problem with Keyshia, I want to see her succeed. I love her new record, but the blows being thrown on Twitter have got to stop; we’re two grown women, two black women, and we need to come together. Do you feel pressure from comparisons? No, because I’m a mermaid; I’m not even human. I could not compete with those girls anyway. I don’t feel any pressure at all. You compare me to Keyshia, compare me to Mary — they sold records — great! But at this point I’m just getting my feet wet. I play piano, I love country music, I sing ballads. Half of that, no one has even seen. So they’re only comparing me based on what the label has put out on me and what they see. And I can’t get mad about that. People will compare you in order to be comfortable with letting you in the game. It did kind of anger me, but I had a recent conversation that made me feel better. You went to FAMU on scholarship for yodeling? [giggles and hesitates] Yeah, I got a scholarship for yodeling. It’s a HBCU, so they weren’t used to that. I sang other songs as well, but I yodeled and they gave me a scholarship. Did you have your son when you were in undergrad? Sure did. That’s why when people say they can’t go to college and the can’t finish college, I don’t hear them. I went to class everyday up until I had my baby, and I went back to school a week later. And I graduated on time, in four years. And I had my son, who didn’t ever go to sleep. The very last couple of months of my last year, my mother and father came and got my son because they wanted to make sure that I ended with great grades and everything like that. So I thank God for my parents, because a lot of parents are not going to come a take a newborn. But they came and got him. I couldn’t study or sleep because I had a baby crying. I read that you play the piano, is that something you really enjoy? I love being on stage, wildin out, taking off my shoes and running around, drinking and having a good time, and having to sit behind the piano is a-whole-nother thing. But that is a gift that I do have. I have to really get better about it, because that’s something that touches people as well. Right now, like tonight, I have sit down and really learn “How Many Times” and ‘Today Just Ain’t My Day”; I read sheet music. For me, it wasn’t a given gift; it was something that my mom and dad said I was going to do. But it did help my ear, and it helped me to hear things, when I go in the studio to mimic sounds, it builds my ear for music. How did you link up with R. Kelly? Well actually, I was supposed to sign with him first through Jive, and what ended up happening was I went in the building and Wayne Williams took a great interest in me. And from there, after I signed with Jive, a week later they took me to R. Kelly. How did the relationship form from there? He’s a comedian; he’s hilarious! He either likes you or he doesn’t. So thank God he liked me. And we’ve been friends ever since. Were you nervous? Oh absolutely. Because I had looked up to him for years, and I really wanted to be able to sing different topics. And my label signed me as a female R.Kelly, because he topic I came in singing about was so off the wall. So they were like, “Okay. Now you can meet your idol. And when you go in here, if he doesn’t like you, don’t get your feelings hurt.” I was shaking. But he was so … he was just cool. The first thing he asked me when he saw me was, “Are you a stripper?” Let’s talk about “I Just Can’t Do This,” was this record a real life situation? I was having a bad relationship, as usual. And I was just going through it. R. Kelly called me late one night, because I had talked to him about what I was going through, and he was like, “Yo, I got this song about your situation; it’s a hit.” That’s where the record came from and people still love it, because the record touched a lot of people. “How Many Times” — does it relate to “I Just Can’t Do This”? People think “HMT” is just about a no good man; it’s so much deeper than that. When me and Sean sat down and talked about my life — if you listen to it, basically what I’m saying is how many times do I have to allow myself to go through the same sh*t. Not just with a man, but just in life period, before I say, “It’s time to stop it” and find another way. So it’s not just about how many times did a man do that. The album Pain Medicine — I love the title… Is this album going to be therapeutic for the ladies? Thank you! This album is actually theraputic for everybody. I’m shooting two videos next week. Another song on the album is called “Today Just Ain’t My Day”; that’s not a gender based record. it’s just basically a record saying what I’m going through and why I’m having a bad day. This album is going to relate to everyone and their life issues. I’d like to say the album is about life, not about men. Who will you be Collaborating with on the album? R.Kelly is on a banger. I’m trying to get Pink on the record as well. How do you feel about the current state of R&B? I don’t like how it’s difficult to get R&B played on the radio. I don’t like the fact that R&B suffers a lot and fails. But I do love the R&B artists that are out. I absolutely love Jazmine Sullivan. She embodies beautiful R&B. I love Melanie Fiona. I love Marsha. I think there are some really gifted artists right now in R&B, and they excite me; they make me happy to be their peer. And I’m happy with where R&B is, not the politics of R&B, but the actual music in R&B, I’m very happy with. Recent Post: K. I am SO excited to be writing my very own ‘mybieberexperience’! Alright, so it all started when I found out that Justin was doing a meet & greet for his new perfume at Macy’s in NYC and I knew I HAD to be there! I wasn’t missing this! I decided I was going to camp out so I wouldn’t risk not getting tickets. My crazy week started Tuesday June 22nd, I left for the city around 9:30am and got there for 11am. My friends and I were like 3rd in the line! We camped out for over 24 hours, but it was definitely worth it. I didn’t get any sleep but it was such a fun time. I met so many other amazing beliebers! I was on the news, in the picture Justin tweeted and in the LA Times newspaper! We got our tickets around 10 am Wednesday morning and let me tell you, it was the BEST feeling ever knowing I was gonna be meeting Justin for sure! When I got home I picked out my outfit and got everything ready for the next day. THURSDAY the 24th, IT WAS FINALLY HERE.I got there around 2 pm and got online with all my friends. We talked with Adam & Scooter Braun as well as Hoogs while we were outside! It was finally my time to go up to Justin. It was pretty overwhelming. I went up to him said hi, gave him a hug and took our picture! I wish I had more time to pose. Anyways after I was going to walk away, go figure.. my hair got caught on his jacket! I turned back, looked into his eyes & was like, “OMG THIS WOULD ONLY HAPPEN TO ME”, and he was like, “Aw it’s alright” I just stood there and stared into his eyes as he untangled my hair HAHAHA. Then I gave him another hug before I walked away. He was super nice and it was just a surreal moment. I wasn’t even embarrassed because he was super nice about it and it gave me more time to stare into his eyes! As soon as I walked away, tears came pouring down my face. I told myself I wouldn’t cry but I couldn’t help it! Honestly never give up because I have been trying so hard for so long and hard work pays off. I am so grateful for this experience & Justin DOES care about his fans! I LOVE YOU JUSTIN -@danarosee Read more from the original source: I am SO excited to be writing my very own…
