8 Steps To Help Someone Today

Here is the original post:

We all have had moments in which we wish we could do something.  The simple things in the world are the moments in which we connect to people on the most basic of levels. The moments in which we do something kind for someone else.It is the one things that empowers us and makes us better people . “Do for other people everything you’d like them to do for you.(Luke 6:31) . Smile and be friendly . Sometimes a simple little thing like this can put a smile and warm feeling in someone else’s heart, and make their day a little better. They might then do the same for others. Donate something you don’t use . Or a whole box of something. Drop them off at a charity — others can put your clutter to good use. Stop to help . The next time you see someone pulled over with a flat tire, or somehow in need of help, stop and ask how you can help. Sometimes all they need is a push, or the use of your cell phone. Comfort someone in grief. Often a hug, a helpful hand, a kind word, a listening ear, will go a long way when someone has lost a loved one or suffered some similar loss or tragedy. Buy food for a homeless person . Cash is often a bad idea if it’s going to be used for drugs, but buying a sandwich and chips or something like that is a good gesture. Be respectful and friendly. Send a nice email . Just a quick note telling someone how much you appreciate them, or how proud you are of them, or just saying thank you for something they did. Show appreciation, publicly . Praising someone on a blog, in front of coworkers, in front of family, or in some other public way, is a great way to make them feel better about themselves. Love . Simply finding ways to express your love to others, whether it be your partner, child, other family member, friend, co-worker, or a complete stranger … just express your love. A hug, a kind word, spending time, showing little kindnesses, being friendly … it all matters more than you know. I would like to know what you did today.  It’s a great thing to spread good news. Miley Cyrus and Charlie Sheen: Totes Twitter BFFs!!!

Miley Cyrus recently returned to Twitter for two reasons: To connect with her fans Charlie Sheen It seems like the latter may have been the bigger catalyst, too: “‘Do not fear, he Sheenius is here!’ I’m not gonna lie. I came back to twitter for 2 reasons,” she Tweeted. “My fans and to follow @charliesheen #winning.” Charlie, who wasn’t on Twitter himself until he went off the rails and got fired from Two and a Half Men, responded by welcoming Miley back with open arms! “Dear Miley, Welcome back to Twitter!” Charlie Tweeted. “Always felt you were epic… Now you proved it! Thanks for the love! ybh c @gypsyhearttour” The Chiley love fest didn’t end there, either. Not by any means. “@charliesheen I always felt the same about you!” Miley wrote the space cadet. “You have taught me everything I know about WINNING. Duh!” That’s pretty sad if true. But we’re glad she’s back, happy.

Ryan Murphy Makes Up with Kings of Leon

Elton John recently referred to Kings of Leon as “assholes” and told them to ” chill out ” over their refusal to allow Glee to cover their single “Use Somebody” on an episode. But series creator Ryan Murphy no longer has such harsh words for the band. A few months after the producer and drummer Nathan Followill got really personal (the latter made a few digs at Murphy’s sexuality), Murphy has released the following statement: I support artists and what they choose to do… I think Kings of Leon are cool as shit. The Foo Fighters are brilliant. We’d love to do one [of] their songs, if they were ever interested. But if it’s not their thing, then OK. I personally wish them luck, will still listen to their music. I’m really proud of the fact that we can introduce songs to younger kids or their parents because I’m the biggest music fan. The show is about the love of performing and arts education – things I think are very special. Case closed, we guess. Glee returns with a new episode on April 19.

TV Nudity Report: Renaissance Rack & Rump on The Borgias

Not to be outdone by the historical hootage of Starz and HBO , this weekend Showtime debuted the newest in a series of “updated” historical dramas, The Borgias . “Updated” is one of our favorite boob tube buzz words here at Skin Central, because most of the time it means “violent” and, more importantly, “sexy.” The Borgias did not disappoint with its premiere episode, featuring boob and butt from Dutch nudecomer Lotte Verbeek as the Pope’s mistress (yes, THAT pope): Also making her nude debut on The Borgias was British actress Montserrat Lombard , who revealed her right fun bag during a schtupping session. Her character was killed at the end of the episode, so unfortunately our love affair with Montserrat will be short but sweet: Stay tuned to the Mr. Skin blog for more nudity updates from The Borgias as they unfold!

‘Glee’ Creator Ryan Murphy Apologizes To Kings Of Leon

Murphy tells The Hollywood Reporter that he respects it ‘when artists don’t want a show … to interpret their songs.’ By Gil Kaufman Kings of Leon Photo: Gareth Cattermole/ Getty Images On second thought, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy didn’t exactly mean it when he said “f— you” to Kings of Leon back in January. Yes, he was a bit miffed that the sibling rockers (whom he also called “self-centered a–holes”) had mouthed off about not wanting their song “Use Somebody” to appear on the high school musical sensation, but given some time to reflect, Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter this week that perhaps he could have expressed himself differently. “I didn’t speak with as much clarity as I would have liked,” Murphy explained to the magazine. “Who am I to say, ‘F–k you?’ That’s not what I meant. I completely understand when artists don’t want a show or another artist to interpret their songs. In fact, I respect it. It’s their personal work and I’d feel the same way. We get turned down all the time and [I] don’t fight it or even go back after a rejection.” Murphy even revealed that he got turned down by another artist recently, Icelandic enigma Bjork, who passed up the opportunity to have one of her songs used in the show. “She read the scene and didn’t think it was the right fit for her song,” he said. “I told her, ‘That’s completely cool,’ and she said to come back to her down the road. We deal with that every day.” Murphy came under fire again recently when Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl said he didn’t think the show runner should complain when bands don’t want their tunes used on the hit Fox series. “It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do f—ing ‘Glee,’ ” Grohl told the Reporter . “And then the guy who created ‘Glee’ is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his f—ing show. … F— that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do ‘Glee.’ … I watched 10 minutes. It’s not my thing.” Though the comments hit home with Murphy, a Foos fan, he said he understood where Grohl was coming from and politely disagreed with his comments. “I’ve never felt that if you don’t give ‘Glee’ your music, there’s something diabolical about you,” Murphy responded. “To the contrary: I support artists and what they choose to do … I think Kings of Leon are cool as sh–. The Foo Fighters are brilliant. We’d love to do one of their songs, if they were ever interested. But if it’s not their thing, then OK. I personally wish them luck [and] will still listen to their music.” Chastened by the incident, Murphy said he’s learned not to drop f-bombs on other artists in the press — and has, in fact, starting exchanging texts with Kings of Leon — but added that he won’t stop pushing to have cool and interesting music on his program. “I’m really proud of the fact that we can introduce songs to younger kids or their parents because I’m the biggest music fan,” he said. “The show is about the love of performing and arts education — things I think are very special.” What do you think about Murphy’s latest remarks regarding the Kings of Leon flap?
