Portland got a taste of Kanye West’s ongoing jam session series. Yeezy recently took it to his sneaker partner corporate offices as a private treat to the employees. The self-proclaimed free thinker hosted his Sunday Service a couple of days early at the adidas headquarters. Accompanied by a live band and gospel choir West performed a bevy of his hits. Also in the building was soul singer Charlie Wilson who lent his iconic vocals on “Bound 2”. You guys, we’re starting to think Chris Brown may have an anger problem. No, really. We think this really could be the case. Just consider the way in which Brown absolutely WENT OFF on Offset this week… Fresh off an allegation of rape , the singer blasted Cardi B’s husband after Offset stood up for his troubled friend, 21 Savage. And we mean blasted . Allow us to explain what happened, okay? Last Sunday morning, 21 Savage was detained by ICE and threatened with deportation. Targeted as part of a raid, rapper really may be kicked out of the United States due to a visa issue and forced to return to the United Kingdom. It’s a pretty sensitive issue… that Brown made fun of by sharing footage in which someone with a British accent does a voiceover against the backdrop of an Offset music video. “CMON FAM, STOP PLAYING WIT DA MANS DEM,” Brown wrote as a caption. Replied Offset, who released a collaborative album with 21 Savage in 2017, “Memes ain’t funny lame.” And that was enough to trigger Brown. Big time. YOU LIL BOY. BETTER WORRY ABOUT WHAT U GOT GOING AND FOCUS ON “YOU,” Brown wrote to Offset, adding in even more anger: All this call on IG IS WHAT’S LAME. YO ENERGY WONT LIKE THAT WHEN I CAME TO THE DRAKE SHOW IN LA… IF U DONT GET YO A HIOP A HOP A HIBBET A BIBBET TO THE HIP HIP HOP AND YA DONT STOP THE ROCKIN FACEASS… OUT TO MY COMMENTS. Brown wasn’t finished throwing his tempter tantrum, either. He concluded as follows: SENSITIVE ASS N-GGA. CALL ME PERSONALLY. U WANT SOME CLOUT WHEN ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS PULI UP. No camera no flexing and all at! IF YOU A REAL MAN FIGHT ME. Oh and another thing, SUCK MY DICK!!! Offset did eventually reply to Brown’s message on his Instagram Stories writing, “Coke head don’t want [smoke emoji].” He then deleted this message. Offset’s defense of 21 Savage comes after Cardi B, with whom he recently reconciled, called out conservative moron pundit Tomi Lahren on Twitter after she Tweeted about 21 Savage’s arrest. “I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight ICE agents ready to deport ya,” Lahren wrote in reference to the lyrics of 21 Savage’s song “Bank Account.” “Don’t make me get my leash,” Cardi wrote back, referring to a previous viral Tweet where she told Lahren that she would “dog walk” her . Meanwhile in a statement released Tuesday, 21 Savage’s attorneys addressed the claims that the artist overstayed his visa, along with the fan speculation that he was targeted due to a recent anti-ICE rap. This statement reads as follows… Many have speculated as to possible ulterior motives for his arrest and detention, including that he released music five days prior to his arrest by ICE, which included new lyrics condemning the behavior of immigration officials for their detention of children at the border. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was born in the United Kingdom. Mr. Abraham-Joseph arrived legally in the United States at the age of 7. He remained in the United States until 2005, when he departed for approximately one month to visit the United Kingdom. He returned to the United States under a valid H-4 visa on July 22, 2005. Mr. Abraham-Joseph has been continuously physically present in the United States for almost 20 years, except for a brief visit abroad. Unfortunately, in 2006 Mr. Abraham-Joseph’s legal status expired through no fault of his own ICE provided incorrect information to the press when it claimed he had a criminal conviction.
Source: C Flanigan/Getty Images / Getty Demi Lovato Tells Public To Back Off And Let Her Heal Demi Lovato is still getting back on her feet after her brush with death via narcotic overdose earlier this year. The songstress was hospitalized over a rumored heroin overdose, however, she nor her people would ever confirm what drug it actually was that sent her to the edge. Now, after a lengthy stint in rehab , Demi is back in LA and readjusting to life as a sober woman in the regular world. However, she wants her fans to know that whatever they’re hearing about her overdose and her recovery that HASN’T come from her own mouth, is BS. She also says that when she’s ready to tell her own story, she’ll do that. Until then, she needs to be left alone and allowed to heal. I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF. Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine. I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal.. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 Any “source” out there that is willing to talk and sell stories to blogs and tabloids about my life isn’t actually a part of my life because most of the shit I see is soooooo inaccurate. So newsflash: your “sources” are wrong. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 Of course, the people she had in her life were also supporting her addiction and let her get to a place where a near-death overdose was possible…but Demi seems sure that those same folks she keeps around her couldn’t possibly be selling BS stories to tabloids behind her back. But we digress. I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready. I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so fucking much thank you — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 It looks like Demi is dedicated to staying on track. But do you think it’s realistic for her to expect people not to be curious about her near-destructive incident? C Flanigan/Getty Images/Twitter

The much refined-yet-potent sophomore effort is going to ring off in the streets for quite some time. To launch the album, 21 refurbished an East Atlanta motel in his artistic image and it at that installation Rob Markman of Genius sat down with the rapper born Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph to talk about the creation of the new album and some of the meanings behind the lyrics. Source: Steve Granitz / Getty Offset’s Alleged Mistress Drops Song Explaining The Affair According to The Blast , Summer Bunni (the woman at the center of the Offset/Cardi B cheating scandal) is releasing a song she says she wrote during the affair. SB claims she penned “Don’t Matter” over the summer when she first started experiencing “mixed feelings” about Offset after he left her feeling neglected during their short fling. After news broke that Cardi B & Offset were splitting, text messages went viral appearing to show Offset trying to organize a ménage à trois with Bunni and Cuban Doll . This allegedly left Bunni mortified that she has been labeled as a “homewrecker” and says she “never intended to be a catalyst for rapper’s split” because “I really thought he and I were for real.” Summer begins “Don’t Matter” by singing “I’m sick of you, I guess my feelings don’t matter.” She goes on to suggest Offset might have been dishonest with her as well: “You didn’t mean it huh / What you say / You stay lying n***a straight to my face.” However, with lyrics like, “F**k the gossip f**k the tea / I’m the one that you really need.” Go to the next page to see all of the lyrics of “Don’t Matter” as she explains how their relationship played out:
Ice Cube doesn't actually mention Donald Trump by name in his new song. But the track is called “Arrest The President.” And the lyrics are a not-so-subtle jab at Trump, and strongly suggest that his days in office are numbered. Ice Cube's lyrics, to be clear, do not call for any violence against Donald Trump or his administration. Rather, “Arrest The President” calls for exactly that — the arrest of POTUS. “Let’s meet at the White House, run in and turn the lights out, they treat it like a trap house,” Ice Cube suggests. “Arrest the president… You got the evidence,” he sings. He makes no secret of why Trump deserves to be arrested. “That n—- is Russian intelligence,” the lyrics accuse. “Did you know the new white was orange?” Ice Cube quips during the song. He then accuses: “Boy, you're showing your horns.” This is a reference to Trump's behavior, from his overt racism to his heartless policies, being something Ice Cube would expect from a devil. “Who you elected is so septic,” Ice Cube says, putting Trump's voters themselves on blast. He also takes aim at Trump's habit of stating provable lies as if they were fact. “So full of s–t,” Ice Cube says. “I can't accept it.” Ice Cube has made his thoughts on Trump clear since before the election. In August of 2017, an absurd rumor was going around suggesting that Ice Cube had endorsed Trump's candidacy. The rapper took to Twitter to make certain that no one could believe this absurd rumor. “I will never endorse a mothaf–ka like Donald Trump!” Ice Cube clarified. “EVER!!!” Some would remain silent on such rumors, hoping to avoid controversy by speaking out one way or the other. Ice Cube did not want anyone mistaking him for a Trump supporter. Ice Cube is hardly alone. When Snoop Dogg peppered his art with references to Trump's death , he faced backlash from Trump's fans. He also faced hand-wringing from people who dislike Trump but are, frankly, huge weenies who worry about optics more than anything else. ice Cube did not backstab Snoop, and instead voiced his support. “Freedom of speech,” he cited in defense of his friend and his friend's controversial music and imagery. Notably, Ice Cube's lyrics “play it safe” in a way unlikely to earn him a visit from Secret Service. Ice Cube may have produced this song simply to vent about the hellish nightmare-world that we all occupy. More cynically, perhaps he just wanted some cash and some good press from people who hate Trump as much as he does. It's also possible that he is hoping that this song will one day be immortalized in one or more films documenting the rise and fall of Donald Trump. You know, if Johnny Cash's “When The Man Comes Around” doesn't quite fit a scene, maybe “Arrest The President” will. It's sure to be a little on the nose — but there have been other, very spot-on songs that have been used years or even decades later in films about the events they describe. That said, Trump has not yet been arrested. Right now, Ice Cube's song is premature. That said, there are murmurings that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is expected to make some sort of move this week. This comes just days after Ice Cube's song dropped. That said, a lot of people let wishful thinking cloud their judgment. They may get their hopes up and then feel disappointed. It's always possible that Trump will resign, or pass away of natural causes in office, or even last the rest of his 4-year term. Ice Cube's song, though it may give hope to many, may never come true. We'll all find out together.
Source: FOX / Getty We finally get some good news on tonight’s episode of Empire . Kai, who has been missing in Nigeria for five days at this point, has been found. Jamal cheeses from ear to ear after getting the call with this news and heads to the hospital post haste! It’s obviously a joyous reunion. What ended up happening to Kai was that he and his crew got ambushed but managed to escape. However, it was a journey trying to get back to the US with no money or passport. This is also the moment we discover that Kai has HIV. Kai didn’t kick Cookie and Jamal out of the room when the doctor was giving him his medical run down. One of the things we learn, which clues us in, is that Kai’s viral load was high because he hadn’t been taking his medication (because he couldn’t). Jamal has known about Kai’s status and had been taking the proper precautions to keep himself negative (like taking PrEP , for example), but imagine Cookie’s shock when she discovers this! Jamal tries to explain to Cookie that she shouldn’t be worried, but she’s so shaken up that she goes home and spills the beans to Lucious. Cookie asks Lucious what they should do about this and Lucious surprises us all when he tells her they should mind their business. Cheers to growth. Lucious understands that you can’t keep two determined grown people apart. Cookie, however, is still a bit dense in getting that mainly because she needs to educate herself about HIV and AIDs, which she does, and because she’s just protective of her baby. Hakeem wants to get back with Tiana, and while she’s down for some d, she’s not convinced that she wants to be with him due to his antics and she wants to focus on getting her music career back together. That latter part takes a turn when Tiana presents new music to Kingsley at Empire and he hates it. He’s super rude to her and insults Hakeem . Basically, he wants her to scrap the project and start over. Becky seems to like it and side eyes Kingsley, who doesn’t deal well with managing artists interpersonally very well. The song was dope but the message here is obvious: Kingsley wouldn’t know a hit if he tripped over one while walking down the street. In other news, Lucious has been struggling with Devon. The thing with Devon is, he has the voice and the looks, but his presence, heart, and soul aren’t quite there. Lucious wants him to stop holding back and taps Jamal to come help. Jamal works his magic, of course, and successfully gets Devon ready to make his debut. We’ll get there in a second. Tiana surprise drops that track she did with Blake (the one where Hakeem wrote the lyrics for Blake and then Blake made Tiana promised that the song would stay between them) because she’s pissed off at Kingsley. Hakeem isn’t happy when he hears it because he’s jealous. Hold that thought. Now we’re at Devon’s performance. The audience is feeling him and so is a record label owner that Lucious has been courting. It’s a man that Lucious knows from back in the day and he wants to sign Devon. They got themselves a deal! Blake confronts Tiana about dropping the track because once again, that song was never supposed to come out. Then Tiana says when she “heard what Blake wrote” she just had to drop the track. Hakeem overhears this and gets pissed at the thought that people think that people think Blake wrote it and thinks Blake is trying to take credit. So, Hakeem does what he does, and punches Blake in the face multiple times. It’s also important to note (if you haven’t picked that up by now) that Hakeem also feels like Blake is trying to steal his woman. Blake and Hakeem get to fighting for a sec (it’s a miracle Hakeem is even breathing through this with his collapsed lung situation) and after it’s broken up, Hakeem has a flashback of Tiana in labor. She had a high-risk pregnancy with twins and a rough delivery. Ultimately, she almost died delivering a boy and a girl, and the girl died. They went through a lot of strife, but that doesn’t always mean they should be together. Tiana is tired of Hakeem’s volatile behavior and says she’s done with him. For real, for real. The episode wraps on a high note. Kai proposes to Jamal. He got the ring the moment he got out of the hospital. But guess what? Jamal planned to propose too! So then he gets down on his one knee and they pop the question to each other. Awww…but we’re still stressed out about who tf ends up dying! Last month, Cardi B literally attacked Nicki Minaj . Words flew, and so did shoes. This beef is intense. Fortunately, Cardi’s next planned attack will be in the form of music, not projectiles. And her diss track is coming along. But apparently her lyrics are so biting and insulting that her own crew is begging her to tone it down. Cardi B is not happy with Nicki Minaj. This time, at least, her feud is going to be channeled into music. That’s what the fans want, and it should also help Cardi avoid getting arrested for assault again . But TMZ reports that though a lot from the diss track has been recorded, the people around Cardi are imploring her to remove some lyrics. The reason? Her lyrics are just too vicious. In fact, apparently some members of Cardi B’s team worry that this could backfire. Not every diss track destroys its intended target. Their fear is that Cardi’s lyrics might actually help Nicki, potentially by boosting her public image. This could mean that the lyrics are so cruel that people will feel sorry for Nicki. It could also mean that Cardi could just be giving Nicki more attention. Cardi’s team feel that her career has already surpassed Nicki. Between Cardi’s baby and secret marriage and even her arrest weeks ago, she is big news this year. People still listen to “Bodak Yellow,” but it’s been a little while since Nicki had that level of undeniable social relevance. Her team’s analysis says that ignoring Nicki is the best way to keep her down. As for Cardi, though, she is said to feel that the only way to “keep it real” with her music is to really lay into Nicki. Cardi is big on authenticity. TMZ notes that Nicki and Cardi have not met face to face since their messy fight at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS Party. That sounds like it is for the best. In the aftermath, Nicki threated to literally murder Cardi , which is a hell of a thing. Cardi vowed to whoop Nicki’s ass , of course. Sometimes it is difficult to see where brand-mandated posturing ends and genuine loathing begins. But this feud looks like the real deal. Cardi’s recent arrest for assault was not over her blowup with Nicki. Instead, it was over the alleged incident in which Cardi B ordered the beating of a pair of strip club employees . Two women, who are sisters as well as bartenders at a strip club, say that they were assaulted by Cardi’s entourage. One woman, the real target, said that she had been attacked by people close to Cardi before, she believed on Cardi’s orders. The reason for the attack was apparently that Cardi believed that one woman had banged her husband, Offset. Ordering an assault because you suspect cheating is, needless to say, never okay. Death threats, literal fights, and assaults are toxic. In the rap world, these kinds of feuds can get people killed. Neither Cardi nor Nicki could actually want that, right? Lyrics might just be words, but it could be an escalation that keeps this feud from dying. We’d love to hear Cardi’s diss tracks and Nicki’s clapback, of course. But we hope that all of this animosity stays on people’s music and doesn’t spill over into real life — again. View Slideshow: 21 Celebrity Feuds We Never Saw Coming
Source: George Pimentel / Getty Drake has been the talk of the town all day since releasing a brand new track titled “Mia” with Bad Bunny . The up-tempo record features Aubrey singing in Spanish, as Bunny follows up with a long verse of his own. The visual, released simultaneously, sees both stars enjoying an evening block party, equipped with dancing, hookahs, and a game of dominoes. Bad Bunny feat Drake – “Mia” But 2018 is far from Drake’s first time teaming up with a Latin-American superstar. Back in 2013, Drizzy teamed up with former Aventura lead singer Romeo Santos for “Odio,” in which the Canadian also showcased his Spanish singing skills. This initial collaboration was especially fitting following the lyrics from Drake’s 2011 smash hit “The Motto,” where he rapped, “Spanish girls love me like I’m Aventura.” What foreshadowing. Romeo Santos feat Drake – “Odio” Though Drake is known for his ability to “adapt” into other cultures like they’re his own, he’s not the first–and won’t be the last–to experiment with some bi-lingual singing skills. Let’s take a look at other huge stars who have crossed over into collaborations with Latin sensations. Before Romeo and Drake came Romeo and Usher . Mr. Raymond doesn’t actually show off any bi-lingual chops on his track “Promise” from Romeo Santos’ 2011 album Fórmula, Vol. 1 , but the collaboration was a big deal for both artists, nonetheless. Romeo Santos feat Usher – “Promise” We can’t talk about North American pop-stars crossing over without talking about Justin Bieber . The Canadian heartthrob hopping on the remix to Daddy Yankee & Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” is probably the most successful Spanish crossover of all-time–and with the original video boasting 5.5 billion views on Youtube, it’s one of the most successful singles ever, in general. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat Justin Bieber – “Despacito (Remix)” Keeping it in the family, Luis Fonsi’s brother Jean Rodriguez is actually the one who coached Beyoncé on her Spanish chops before she hopped on J Balvin’s “Mi Gente.” Though the release of this song (and Bey’s involvement in it) had everybody freaking out, this wasn’t Mrs. Carter’s first time around the block. The superstar has made her fair share of Spanish remixes to her very own songs including “Si Yo Fuera Un Chico (If I Were a Boy),” “Oye (Listen),” and “Irreemplazable (Irreplaceable).” J Balvin & Willy William feat Beyoncé- “Mi Gente” Though it wasn’t a collaboration with a Latin musician, Kendrick Lamar paid tribute to his Los Angeles roots by rapping his a$$ off en Español for his feature on labelmate Schoolboy Q ‘s track “Collard Greens.” Schoolboy Q feat Kendrick Lamar – “Collard Greens” Those five aren’t the only North American artists to dabble in some Spanish, check out these honorable mentions to get well-versed in the bi-lingual world of American music. DJ Snake feat Selena Gomez, Ozuna, Cardi B – “Taki Taki”
