Britney Spears To Premiere ‘Hold It Against Me’ On January 7

Radio program director says the track produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin has a ‘really unique’ beat. By James Dinh Britney Spears Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage Britney Spears is making sure to start the year off right with new music. As speculated, the pop princess is set to premiere her brand-new track called “Hold It Against Me” late next week, according to Entertainment Weekly. In the latest issue of the magazine, Sharon Dastur, program director for New York’s Z100, dished a few details about the pop star’s anticipated new single. “It’s produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin,” Dastur revealed. “And the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists — this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7.” Rumored lyrics to “Hold It Against Me” circulated on the Internet earlier this week, but Britney’s camp has yet to confirm whether they are real or not. And while details about the track remain scarce, a tweet from Dr. Luke indicated that it will feature a guitar. Fans began speculating about Britney’s new single when PopJustice.com reported on the song earlier this month. Dr. Luke also began to tease fans about the tune, tweeting, “I/we never wrote a song called ‘don’t hold it against me’…. BewaRe of InaccuraTe info kids 😉 We did write ‘hold it against me’ but those lyrics are NOT the lyrics ….” Swedish producer Shellback recently spoke about Spears’ work ethic and professionalism while working on her new LP, which drops in March. “[Britney]’s actually damn professional. You read a lot on the Internet that Britney is not singing and mimes, but she is actually damn professional,” he said. “She’s done it since she was 16. And just rhythmic way, she is f—ing awesome! And you do not have to go through and talk about the rhythms and stuff that you sometimes have to do. She’s very easy in the studio.” The “3” singer has already begun casting dancers for a new music video. Just last week, the fansite BreatheHeavy.com posted a notice sent out by Britney’s team announcing auditions for a video shooting in January. In a video purported to be shot during auditions, which were coordinated by choreographer and former Britney collaborator Brian Friedman, dancers are seen learning a routine to “Criminal Intent” by Swedish songstress Robyn. Eminem and Lil Wayne Rock ‘Saturday Night Live’

Superstars team up for “No Love” and split the stage for “Won’t Back Down” and “6’7” on holiday-themed episode. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lil Wayne and Eminem perform “No Love” on “SNL” on Dec. 18 Photo: NBC Eminem and Lil Wayne sent “Saturday Night Live” viewers into the holiday season with a double dose of hip-hop over the weekend. The rap luminaries first rocked Em’s steely Haddaway-sampling joint “No Love,” backed by a live band on a set decked out in festive holiday decorations. Both MCs kept their style casually cool: Wayne rocked a white T-shirt and black plants while Em sported a brown jacket and gray beanie. Weezy spit the first verse with his signature unhinged energy, asserting his return to the live-television circuit. Em helmed the rest of the song, nimbly dropping his lyrics with abandon. The MCs split up for the final performance, with Eminem kicking things off with the Pink-assisted cut “Won’t Back Down.” Outfitted in a black jacket and cap, Em rocked the joint with the help of a hype man, spitting bars like, “How you douche bags feel?/ Knowing you’re disposable, Summer’s Eve, Massengill.” When Em wrapped up, the Detroit MC ceded the mic to Weezy, who hopped up onstage solo for the recently released “6’7″.” The live electric guitar-laced version was a super-charged departure from the Bangladesh-crafted banger, with Wayne knocking out the lyrics with his high-powered flow and vibing with a slew of similarly amped musicians. The “SNL” appearance is the latest team-up in a long list collaborations between the Shady boss and the Young Money captain. Em guested on Weezy’s “Drop the World” from the New Orleans vet’s rock-centric album “Rebirth.” Wayne returned the favor for Em’s Recovery cut “No Love.” Other hitmakers also popped up on Saturday night’s broadcast, which was hosted by “Tron Legacy” star Jeff Bridges. Akon helped Lonely Planet bust out an ode to gettin’ it on, belting “I just had sex!” Blake Lively and Jessica Alba made cameos as comely conquests as the crew gamely sang, “I’ll never go back to the not-having-sex ways of the past.” On “The Miley Cyrus Show” skit, featured player Vanessa Bayer played a giggly, hyper version of the teen starlet, and poked fun at the “Can’t Be Tamed” singer’s much-publicized salvia bong hit . Bayer’s Cyrus explained her “five-minute drug problem,” saying, “so, what happened was, I got really high — like really high.” Veteran actor Bridges also showed off his acting chops in several skits, playing an effeminate cowboy who doles out gussied-up Christmas presents, and starring in his own prank show “Jeff’d,” in which he messes with celebrity pals like Billy Bob Thornton and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Prince Brings The Party To New Jersey Concert

The Purple One delighted the Izod Center crowd at his Welcome 2 America Tour stop on Friday with a career-spanning set and some special guests. By Hillary Crosley Prince (file) Photo: Jens Dige/Scanpix/AFP Photo What man can make three-inch gold heels and a glittering top work? Only , of course. On Friday, the Purple One performed at New Jersey’s Izod Center for his Welcome 2 America Tour before a packed crowd, seated well into the nose-bleeds. Drawing from his early catalogue, the icon began the show with a medley of “Let’s Go Crazy” and “Delirious.” Working a stage shaped like the symbol he was “formerly known as,” Prince strutted in a black suit detailed with gold trim while sporting his signature short haircut. His band included three background singers — dressed in everything from feathers to polka dots — a female bassist, two keyboardists and a drummer. Maintaining the energy, the Minneapolis native kicked off “1999” with a question, “What’d y’all come to do . party?” Then, with a spotlight focused on him alone, Prince squealed a slow rendition of “Little Red Corvette” that sped up during each chorus only to smooth out again when it returned to the verses. Taking his jacket off, he threw the garment on the ground to reveal a bejeweled scarf slung around his neck as the fans screamed and the Grammy award winner disappeared below the stage. In the following act, Prince, now wearing a mustard-colored silk pantsuit with a ruffled top, returned to the stage alongside ballerina . Copeland is the first African American female soloist in the American Ballet Theatre. As she twirled around the stage, the two created a sensual high-art version of “The Beautiful Ones,” where each danced atop the stage’s purple piano. During “Controversy,” famed funk saxophonist took the stage for a worthy solo as Prince directed the audience. “I don’t care what they told, wave your phones side to side!” he said, just before asking the crowd, “What shall we do? Can I do some for me?” Breaking into “Take Me With You,” as confetti began to pour from the ceiling and onto the stage, the singer and his band moved seamlessly into “Guitar,” from Prince’s 2007 LP, Planet Earth. The lights then dimmed and became purple as the band strummed the introduction to perhaps the biggest song of the artist’s career, “Purple Rain.” Walking around the stage, the petite performer encouraged his New York and New Jersey fans to sing the cut’s bridge before he belted out the lyrics himself. As the song came to an end, Prince disappeared below the stage once again. Talented drummer Sheila E then arose, flanked by a drum kit, as the Izod Center shook with applause. The “Krush Groove” star, sporting a sequin tank top, pants and over-the-knee boots, banged out her 1984 hit, “The Glamorous Life,” before Prince joined in for their duet “Love Bizarre.” To the delight of Sheila’s enthusiasts, who were standing in their seats with excitement, she performed an impromptu drum solo and then Prince invited audience members to the stage for the Morris Day & the Time cuts “Jungle Love” and “The Bird.” Waving goodbye, Prince, Sheila and the band disappeared backstage. But the crowd would not accept their departure. Wooed by applause and cheers, Prince returned for an encore and ran through “If I Was Your Girlfriend,” “Insatiable” and “Scandalous” before finally wishing everyone a good night. Christina Aguilera Defends Her ‘X Factor’ Performance

‘I don’t think there is such a thing as too raunchy when it comes to the art form of burlesque,’ singer says. By Jocelyn Vena Christina Aguilera Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images Christina Aguilera once went by the moniker Xtina, but apparently that didn’t give her permission to be racy when she performed on “The X Factor” this week. The Daily Express reports that her performance of “Express” from her Golden Globe-nominated movie “Burlesque” received more than 1,000 complaints after Aguilera and her dancers shimmied around on the stage provocatively during the prime-time broadcast. But Aguilera is standing by the performance. “I don’t think there is such a thing as too raunchy when it comes to the art form of burlesque,” the singer explained at the U.K. premiere of the film. “It’s very empowering to women to feel confident in their own skin and in their bodies and this represents that. Everyone in the spotlight is judged and there are many opinions out there, but I stick true to what I believe in.” While that performance may have left a bad taste in some people’s mouths, Aguilera also hit the stage with “X Factor” contestant Rebecca Ferguson, who said that performing “Beautiful” with the singer was a career high. “She’s an amazing artist. I was so starstruck,” she told Echo.co.uk . “I still can’t believe I got to sing with her.” Ferguson added that Aguilera helped calm her nerves before the performance. “We rehearsed it through and I was worried I would sing her lyrics, so she said we would work it out onstage. She told me to keep eye contact with her,” she said. “I thought she was really sweet. I liked her. Don’t get me wrong, she was a professional, but at the same time, she didn’t have to record a good luck message for me.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Christina Aguilera Related Artists Christina Aguilera

‘Glee’-Cap: Christmas Cheer Before Hiatus Blues

Blaine and Kurt’s cuteness makes up for any Rachel/Finn sadness. By Jim Cantiello Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith in “Glee” Photo: FOX This week’s “Glee” went all out to promote holiday cheer — unless, of course, your holidays don’t happen to include Christmas. Well, before you run out and buy the cast’s Christmas album to tide you over for the winter hiatus, take a minute to enjoy our own little carol and sing along with the lyrics below. “Glee” has Christmas spirit Too sweet to refuse They can’t help but feel it, Even the Jews! Rachel said she made a Christmas wish, No matter that she eats gefilte fish. I guess “Glee” didn’t want any Yiddish On their Christmas album. Feh!! Christmas is for celebrating, Rachel and Finn separating. Santa’s real, there’s no debating In Brittany’s small brain. Artie wants glee club to scheme So Brittany doesn’t lose her dream. She asks Santa to fix Artie. He robot walks Insane!! Will’s riding solo Christmas Eve on his own. Kids surprise him with cocoa And take over his home. Um, it seems totally illegal and super-sketchy that a teacher would be hanging out with his students in his house. But I digress. No shocker here that Sue is a grinch, Destroys the tree and doesn’t even flinch. Her heart melts by the end, ’cause in a pinch She overhears the Glee kids sing! Blaine and Kurt are my two favorite peeps. Their duet this week was totally for keeps. Kurt declared his love and the cuteness came in heaps. I just wish they weren’t saving their big kiss for sweeps. Christmas is for celebrating, Church and state not separating. If you don’t believe in Jesus, why are you waiting? Drop out of McKinley High. I’ve got my own Christmas request: Without “Glee” I will be depressed. Gotta wait ’til February?? Surely you jest! I guess this is goodbye. Goodbyyyye! And that is “Glee”! Cee Lo Green’s ‘F— You’ Is MTV News’ #5 Song Of 2010

Motown-inspired track became the most unlikely hit of the year and one of our Top 25 Songs. By Kyle Anderson Cee Lo Green Photo: Getty Images First of all, let’s get the title out of the way. The song that comes in at #5 on MTV News’ Top 25 Songs of 2010 list is called “F— You” (and though we can’t type it out, you know what we’re talking about). It isn’t “Forget You” (which is what “Good Morning America” viewers and radio listeners hear) or “FU” or even “Fox News” (which was the lyric change Cee Lo Green made when he performed the song on “The Colbert Report”), and that’s an important distinction. The first single from Green’s new album The Lady Killer is a phenomenal marriage of rage, angst and giddiness that cannot properly be expressed with the word “forget.” It’s too angry, too thrilling and too singular for a radio edit, which is why it landed so high on this list. Of all the songs that appear on the upper echelon of this list, “F— You” might have had the strangest road to the top. There was very little excitement surrounding the release of Green’s new album (his third solo joint and his first since scoring huge crossover success with Gnarls Barkley, his collaboration with DJ Danger Mouse) when “F— You” became an instantaneous viral hit back in August. Thanks to a YouTube clip that did little more than lay out the lyrics to the potty-mouthed revenge tune, the song got passed around at the speed of the Internet, racking up millions of views before the song was even available on iTunes. Sensing that he had a hit on his hands, Green quickly cut a new, official video for the song (a brightly colored time-traveling tour through various episodes of traumatic female rejection) and pushed up the release date of the album. But while it seems like “F— You” should be a novelty song, it managed to transcend fleeting popularity, and that’s because of the song’s absolutely impeccable production. Co-written and produced by the Smeezingtons (the song-doctor collective that features breakout star Bruno Mars), “F— You” uses a funky Motown groove and bright-as-sunshine horns to build a spectacularly catchy groove over which Cee Lo can let his voice (which is all helium and rubber bands) dance all over it like an extra-angry Al Green. The language should have sunk “F— You” (in addition to the chorus, there are a handful of S-bombs and mentions of the N-word, hardly the things you can say in a crossover pop hit), but the jubilation with which Cee Lo delivered his vindictive lyric sheet wrapped everybody up, turning Cee Lo into a morning-show -friendly pop star (again) and spinning “F— You” into an unusual hit. The song peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and pushed The Lady Killer to the top 10 on the album chart as well. Cee Lo’s greatest “F— You”-related trick may be yet to come, as the song was just nominated for Grammys (Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Urban Alternative Performance and Best Short Form Music Video). And in perhaps the greatest testament of a song’s greatness in 2010, “F— You” got covered on an episode of the hit TV show “Glee” (by guest star Gwyneth Paltrow, no less). While there was no shortage of blunt honesty on the radio in 2010 ( Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie” certainly put the cards on the table), Cee Lo Green’s “F— You” was a special kind of honesty, as it dressed it up in a jaw-droppingly fun package. Green had plenty of poison to share, but he did it with a smile — and that’s what made “F— You” so special. (And yeah, the cursing helped too.) How does Cee Lo Green’s “F— You” rank among the year’s best songs? Let us know in the comments! MTV News’ Top 25 Songs of 2010 countdown continues. Keri Hilson Insists ‘Way You Love Me’ Video Is No Stunt

‘I’m a freak, it’s no surprise,’ the singer says in defense of her sexy new clip. By Rebecca Thomas Keri Hilson Photo: MTV News Keri Hilson doesn’t want to cuddle. In the brand-new video for her head-banging, rock-tinged “The Way You Love Me,” Hilson, strapped into a leather bikini, bypasses the R&B book of double entendres as she delivers a jaw-dropping chorus, exhorting her man to “F— me, f— me.” Directed by veteran choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson, with a look from Rick Ross, the clip set the Net ablaze after it premiered on a hip-hop site earlier this week. Platinum-blond Keri gyrates, thrusts, licks and gets (way) low as she laces the song with enough saucy language and expletives to make your favorite rapper blush. Singer JoJo, Dawn Richard of Diddy-Dirty Money and Faith Evans team up with Hilson in the clip, rounding out her black-clad crew of female assassins. Now, her detractors are crying foul online, accusing the singer of swerving into a racy lane just for page views and album sales. In a live-stream interview on Thursday with a visibly embarrassed Perez Hilton Keri addressed the bubbling controversy. “You know what? If you put it in context with my album, my album is called No Boys Allowed but really it means no bullsh– allowed. In this album, I was screaming in a room — just like I was screaming in the song — I was screaming in a room with all my girlfriends, yelling all the sh– we really say.” Keri said the sentiment reflected in the song is exactly what her girls are apt to shout behind closed doors: “I don’t want to make love tonight. Just f— me, please!” She added, “I’m a freak, it’s no surprise. I’ve been a freak on other songs … and other videos.” But Perez, echoing what some of Hilson’s critics have argued since the provocative clip dropped on WorldStarHipHop.com , asked Keri point-blank whether the steamy visual is a “calculated move” intended to stir up talk and ahead of her December 21 sophomore LP. “Everything I wrote about is from that perspective: How do we really feel and think about certain things?” Keri insisted. “You don’t have to use sexuality to feel powerful,” Perez countered. The singer, who is performing at the “VH1 Divas” concert on Sunday, went on to explain that whether it’s “Pretty Girl Rock” or “The Way You Love Me,” her lyrics are meant to reflect a woman’s many moods and shifting desires. “Perez, I don’t want to be held and caressed every night. … I’m talking about one man in the relationship. I’m not talking about being a slut and a whore,” she said, before conceding, “It is racy.” Regardless of Internet chatter, Hilson said creative freedom will always win out. “I can’t allow other people or the media to dictate what I can and can’t do.” While she made no apologies for the NSFW video, she did say a clean version of the song is the one included on her album. What do you think of Keri’s “The Way You Love Me” video? Sound off in the comments! Related Artists Keri Hilson
