Lady Gaga Telephone Lyrics and Video

The buzz started after the video premiered, and the last shot says, “To Be Continued” on the screen. But Gaga spoke with MTV and cleared up the rumor. While she is going to begin working on the video for her next single “Alejandro,” Gaga says that it won’t be a follow-up to “Telephone.” ‘I can’t wait to do my own line. It’s definitely something I want to do in the next year, as I do have my own style,’ said Gaga. Christina Aguilera is a Cocktease in Shorts of the Day

Christina Aguilera is a cocktease. Not only did she get married young and have a baby young, killing our fantasies early on, before she got old and tired and we had no choice by to kill our fantasies ourselves, in some kind of jerking off suicide…but also in releasing her new single…from her new album…. On Her Website she was advertising a new song was going to drop and there was a countdown…when the countdown hit zero…they released the lyrics to the fucking song…and no song…that’s some bait and switch shit if I’ve ever seen one…What the fuck can you do with lyrics..but I guess it involves her fans spending the next 20 hours trying to figure out the melody of the song on their own or some shit and posting it on youtube or some shit… Now, I’m not a fan of much other than her tits and the fact that I thought I’d bang her at least once before I die, but that marketing lie would seriously piss me off…If I was sitting here at the computer waiting for the, you can’t fucking trick me like that…It reminds me of when girls promise me nudes and send me a pic of a naked old lady after I invest hours in making them feel pretty…and that makes me fucking angry…. Here are some pics of her with stupid hair and a stupid outfit showing off some leg….and in 20 hours we can all cry masturbating to her angelic voice in shitty pop song format again…good times… Pics via PacificCoastNews

‘Me & Bobby McGee’: The Story Behind Crystal Bowersox’s Cover

On ‘American Idol,’ Bowersox earned big praise for singing Janis Joplin’s posthumous hit. By Kyle Anderson Once again, one of the highlights of Tuesday night’s episode of “American Idol” — which was focused on songs that had hit No. 1 on the pop charts — was Crystal Bowersox’s performance. Armed with her trusty guitar and her disarming voice, the rocker sang “Me and Bobby McGee,” which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. There’s a bittersweet feeling within the lyrics of “Bobby,” as well as in the story surrounding it. The song was written by country legends Kris Kristofferson (who has had a string of hits himself) and Fred Foster (who produced much of Roy Orbison’s best work and helped introduce the world to Dolly Parton) and was recorded by “King of the Road” singer Roger Miller and Canadian folk king Gordon Lightfoot in 1969 and 1970, respectively. Both of those versions became hits, but neither was as big as the one recorded by Joplin, who was friends and occasional lovers with Kristofferson. The bluesy growler recorded the song without his knowledge for her solo album Pearl, which she cut with the Full Tilt Boogie Band. Pearl came out in February of 1971, four months after Joplin’s October 1970 death from a heroin overdose. “Me and Bobby McGee” was released as a commercial single and hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 during the week of March 20, 1971, making Joplin only the second person in history to top that chart posthumously. Though Joplin’s version remains definitive, “Me and Bobby McGee” has been covered by a number of artists, including country greats Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash, rock icons the Grateful Dead and Melissa Etheridge, and pop idols Olivia Newton-John and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Pink’s version of the track appears on her “Live in Europe” DVD, and Tori Amos has broken it out in concert. Bowersox’s version marks the first time “Me and Bobby McGee” has appeared on “American Idol,” though songs performed by Joplin have popped up five times before. Nikki McKibbin, Carrie Underwood and Asia’h Epperson are among the “Idol” hopefuls who have performed “Piece of My Heart,” while Allison Iraheta knocked out Joplin’s “Cry Baby” last season. What did you think of Crystal Bowersox’s take on “Me and Bobby McGee”? How does it compare to Janis Joplin’s version? Let us know in the comments! Katelyn Epperly Had ‘Pride Issues’ With Being On ‘American Idol’

‘A talent competition is not necessarily my thing,’ she says. By Katie Byrne Katelyn Epperly performs on “American Idol” Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images Katelyn Epperly finally had a breakout “American Idol” performance last week with Coldplay’s “The Scientist,” even though the judges didn’t see eye-to-eye on it. But the whole panel agreed that her take on Carole King’s “I Feel the Earth Move” didn’t live up to her potential. Even so, Epperly wasn’t expected to get the boot on Thursday, but such was the theme of the shocking results night , when Lilly Scott , Alex Lambert and Todrick Hall were also sent packing. We caught up with the singer/songwriter to talk about her closest “Idol” allies, her next move and more. Q : Did you feel that the judges were especially hard on you this season? A : They were definitely more critical towards me. I’m not sure if it’s possibly because I’ve been performing for so long. Maybe they expected more out of me than what I was giving them. But I started off on a pretty strong note, so maybe I didn’t live up to their expectations week by week. Q : Did you sing “I Feel the Earth Move” to compensate for Simon’s “corny” comments the week before? A : I totally did. I definitely was trying to find a song that would portray me as an artist, which is difficult for a singer/songwriter in this competition, because first of all, I don’t listen to mainstream music, and second of all, I don’t typically perform covers. So I kind of scrambled around last-minute trying to do something. I brought out the Wurlitzer keyboard .I wanted to do something edgier, and it didn’t work out for me, but I definitely don’t regret doing it, because I love that era. Q : You and Lilly seemed especially emotional during the results show. Why was that? A : Lilly and I have gotten really close, and from the start, we’ve flocked together. Crystal [Bowersox] too. I don’t typically hang out with girls very often, so this was a rare thing for all three of us, actually. To really truly have female friends and to get along so well and to be so supportive of one another and turning and seeing them there — for me, it wasn’t over. This is sort of a platform in my career. I wasn’t so sad about that; I was sad to see them, and I’m gonna say it was a pretty big disappointment to me to see Lilly go home, because if I were to be at home watching that show, she would, by far, over all the other girls, not be the one going home. Q : What made you choose “The Scientist” last week? A : It’s definitely a song that comes to mind when I think about anything hard I’ve had to do, any sort of loss. It’s a very touching, riveting song. I covered it a lot this summer and coped with a lot of things that I was going through. This is a song that is sad but also hopeful. When they said it was too slow, that was OK with me. I was waiting for that comment. I wanted to do it slow. I wanted to focus on the lyrics of the song. The song just cries, and I think I portrayed it, despite what the judges might have thought. Q : Are you especially rooting for anyone now that you’re off the show? A : I wish them all well, because I’ve gotten to know them all, and everyone’s worked so hard. Honestly, from the start, Crystal has been a very true, true friend to me and an honest person. And when she sings, it comes from the heart, and I know you’ve watched her. It’s just natural for her, and she totally deserves it. I’m going to be pushing for her all the way. Q : Was it comforting to you for there to be so many other singer/songwriters in the competition this season? A : I think that’s very important. That’s actually what made me so much more OK with being on the show, because I did have some pride issues with it at first, because a talent competition is not necessarily my thing. I’m the kind of person who just likes to sing and dance and spend time with music instead of making it something competitive. I’ve seen so many singer/songwriters this year who really are credible and who have been working at it their whole lives and truly deserve it. They didn’t just roll out of bed one day and want to be on a TV show and have an OK voice and a pretty face. So it was really fun to sit around backstage while we were rehearsing. We got to just jam out together. We’d all pass around the guitar and sing. It was awesome. Q : Would you have liked to sing your original songs on the show, if that were an option? A : That’s a tough one. It would be really awesome because I feel like people like Lilly, Crystal and I and others, we would definitely excel in that kind of category. At the same time, it is a show where you get judged. It’s really hard, because original music, especially the music I write, is filled with a lot of emotion and it’s based on personal experiences, and I think it would be hard for me to get up in front of four people and for them to tell me my personal experiences are invalid and my song that I wrote when I was going through a hard time wasn’t good enough. So its mixed and matched, but I definitely think it would be a cool twist to bring to a show and really bring to light some of those true musicians. Q : What’s next? Will you head back to Iowa? A : I am planning on going back for now, since I’m flat broke. [ Laughs. ] I gotta go back to Des Moines and start working and continue to pursue recording and writing music with all sorts of different artists. The band called Lovedrug is a band I’ve been listening to since I was real young. I’m gonna get together with them and hopefully write some music with them as well as other artists. Just getting back in the studio and getting back to what I truly love to do. Were you sad to see Katelyn go? Will you listen to her post-“Idol” music? Let us know! ‘American Idol’ In 60 Seconds: Alex Lambert, Crystal Bowersox Dominate Top 20

John Park, Haeley Vaughn, Michelle Delamor and Jermaine Sellers bid farewell as quirky girls take the lead. By Jim Cantiello Alex Lambert Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images “American Idol” in 60 Seconds has fast become an MTV News institution, but it goes by so fast that it’s not always easy to catch every golden nugget. So, here we present to you Jim Cantiello’s bite-size recap of this week’s “Idol” high jinks. This week’s “American Idol” had it all! Schedule changes, glass-shattering high notes and cameos from Jesus (and Vera Wang). Week two of this year’s “Idol” semifinals will be remembered as the week that quirky girls emerged as the breakout stars of season nine. Platinum-haired Lilly Scott , unpredictable banshee Siobhan Magnus and aspiring recording engineer Katelyn Epperly all put their own unique stamps on popular songs. But it was Crystal Bowersox who dominated headlines — not only when her hospitalization for complications from diabetes caused a last-minute boy/girl schedule switcheroo, but when she returned to the “Idol” stage Wednesday with a passionate take on Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “As Long as I Can See the Light.” On Tuesday night, the boys’ standings were turned upside down. Last week’s train wreck, Alex Lambert, shot to the front of the pack with an irresistible segment that had the mumbly teenager overcoming his stomach-turning stage fright. Meanwhile, early season fave Andrew Garcia stumbled badly with a forgettable James Morrison cover. (Note to “Idol” contestants: Avoid singing while sitting on stools.) Thursday night’s results show opened with the top 20 lip-synching (terribly) and acting out the lyrics to the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling.” Later, season eight’s polarizing widower, Danny Gokey, returned to perform a song from his brand new country album. An especially manic, quick-talking interview with Ryan Seacrest followed. ‘American Idol’ Season 9 Performances In the end, Seacrest read the names of four more eliminated contestants: a cappella group member John Park, Creed-covering Michelle Delamor, 16-year-old country kewpie doll Haeley Vaughn and cocky onesie-rockin’ Jermaine Sellers, who was flabbergasted Tuesday night after the judges called him out for his wonky vocals. Though he insisted that Jesus would protect him from elimination, Jermaine quickly learned that his Homeboy had different plans for him. For those of you keeping score, seven out of the eight contestants eliminated so far this season have been minorities. Stay classy, America! But what are you waiting for? Check out the latest episode of “American Idol in 60 Seconds” for my lightning-fast take on this week’s “Idol.” You may even find a tiny little bonus in there too.
