Dancing with the Stars Recap: Evan Lysacek Sets the Gold Standard

Evan Lysacek is not interested in silver medals. Having already conquered the Winter Olympics in figure skating, the 24-year-old is looking to pair his gold medal with a silver Dancing with the Stars disco ball. If last night is any indication, he’s the man to beat. He and Anna Trebunskaya bested the field by a considerable margin and got a standing O for the quickstep. Also cementing their status as contenders this season were Nicole Scherzinger, the first two weeks’ top scorer , and Erin Andrews, who showed grace and poise. Despite threats from a crazy stalker , Erin is no quitter, and she and Maksim Chmerkovskiy tied Nicole and Derek Hough for Monday’s second-highest scores. At the bottom of the heap were Buzz Aldrin, predictably, and Kate Gosselin, who didn’t exactly make Tony Dovolani look like Babe Ruth with his predictions . Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya stood (and sat) alone.

As anyone who’s caught Kerri Strug’s softcore erotic thrillers can attest, becoming an Olympic champion doesn’t automatically confer acting chops. Here then, is a delightful exception, a short film that features figure skating gold medalist and Dancing with Stars contender Evan Lysacek as “Vladimir Plushenko” ( certainly not based in any way on his rival, Evgeni Plushenko). As you’ll see, Lysacek ably demonstrates his range, acting in an accent other than his own and a skin color other than his native tangerine. If he could simply fake an orgasm at a level half as convincing as Johnny Weir , we could crown ourselves a new champ. Video, after the jump:

Audrina Patridge, Ryan Cabrera Film The Hills

Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera are not only an item, they’re co-workers. Well, kind of. For her, “work” is being on MTV’s non-reality show The Hills. It looks like Cabrera has agreed to come on board the long-running program, filming scenes last Friday evening at Hollywood club La Vida with Audrina. The two were being filmed “for about an hour at a secluded table on the patio,” according to witnesses. Wonder what the cue cards had ’em talk about. A rep for Ryan Cabrera confirmed that he’ll appear on the show, but hasn’t yet signed a deal. Looks as though his career is “On the Way Down.” Sorry, had to. Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera do make a cute couple, we gotta say. Nice to see them yogether on The Hills and in real life! The two were seen holding hands in Mexico earlier this month. “Ryan is a great guy,” a pal tells Us . “Audrina is having fun! It’s easy to see why. He seems chill, and Patridge’s most famous Hills romance was with that douche Justin-Bobby . From there, one can only improve. Other men in her life haven’t been that much better. Corey Bohan fizzled out, and Zachary Loring , well … he’s certifiably insane and stalks her a lot.
