One-Time Pops ‘Scarface’ Fanatic Yayo Kingpin Thuggin’ It Up Like Tony Montana

SMH… Every dog may have his day, but Papo Perez had to learn the hard way that the world wasn’t his — chico! Cocaine kingpin Ceferino “Papo” Perez was so smitten with the movie “Scarface” that police say he kept a framed picture from the movie with his face posted over Al Pacino’s next to his bed in one of his homes in Yonkers. Unlike Tony Montana, Perez lived to experience his unhappy ending. One-time popped Perez earlier this week and charged him with running an $80,000 a week yayo delivery service. “He was very proud of what he was going. He was quite arrogant and narcissistic,” said NYPD Inspector Lori Pollock. Papo’s crew, which included his wife Elsie Detres-Perez and 20 others, were arrested following a year-long investigation. Nine cars, $550,000 in cash and “pounds and pounds” of gold jewelry were also seized, along with three guns, including a MAC-11 semi-automatic machine pistol, and six pounds of marijuana. Investigators say despite his large fortune, Perez put his wife to work for him packaging product. “My wife needs the money, so she is willing to do it,” Perez, 44, was caught on tape telling another alleged packager in March, according to an indictment in the case. “You bag up, and she seals,” he said of the 1,500-Ziploc-a-day process. Both have pleaded not guilty to drug conspiracy and other charges. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said he believes the arrests have shut Perez’s crew down for good. “This enterprise is over,” he said. Boy, we tell ya… Folks gettin’ caught up trying to do it like they see in the movies. This guy is gonna get eaten up in court, it sounds like he got real sloppy. Source

Lady Gaga Goes Glam For AIDS Charity

Lady Gaga never fails to get people talking with her unique style, or fails to promote causes she holds dear. Her new M.A.C Viva Glam Campaign accomplishes both. ‘Hangover Part II’ Trailer: The Five Coolest Moments

From the monkey on Bradley Cooper’s back to Ed Helms’ tribal face tattoo, we can’t wait to hit this destination wedding. By Eric Ditzian Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zack Galifianakis in “The Hangover Part II” Photo: Warner Bros. Todd Phillips promised and he delivered. Last week, the writer/director — who these days can’t seem to make an R-rated comedy that doesn’t do mega-business across the globe — assured MTV News that the teaser trailer for “Hangover Part II” would be popping up online this week. And pop up it has. True to Phillips’ words the footage is “truly a teaser,” with almost no dialogue and little hint about the events surrounding what clearly turns an innocent destination wedding in Thailand into a life-altering disaster. We do, however, contest Phillips’ speculation that the teaser “might end up frustrating more than solving questions.” While questions are hardly solved, we couldn’t be more pumped finally to feast our eyes on official footage from the Memorial Day weekend release. Here are our picks for the five coolest moments: Hotel or Prison? In “The Hangover,” Bradley Cooper and his pals find their way into one of the chicest suites in Las Vegas. Their digs in Thailand, alas, look more like the confines of a prison — less “King and I” than “Brokedown Palace.” There’s no way that this was their original resort locale. It’s anybody’s guess how and why the end up in this dump. Say Goodbye to That Security Deposit This image is a direct homage to the post-party scene in “Hangover”: After swilling what turned out to be roofie-infused booze, the friends awoke in their trashed Vegas suite, each one nursing a nuclear headache as a tiger roamed freely in the bathroom. This time around, the morning after takes place in a decidedly less glamorous environment and the big cat is replaced by an oversize cockroach. The Wolf Pack is Back In the original film, Zach Galifianakis proudly — and nonsensically — welcomed the crew into his wolf pack. Disaster ensued. This shot shows the gang back together again. Missing, interestingly, is Justin Bartha, who went missing in the first flick and whose absence in the new trailer seems to lend credence to the rumor that he’ll once again disappear in “Part II.” Is This Kind of Nice? The trailer’s first piece of dialogue belongs to Galifianakis and it’s, predictably, hilariously detached from what is clearly a seriously bad situation. Why else is a monkey wrapped around Cooper’s neck? Why does Galifianakis look like a blind man shaved his noggin? And about Ed Helms’ face … Mike Tyson, Trendsetter Iron Mike’s cameo in “Hangover” was one of the comedy’s finest pleasures. And as we’ve seen from “Part II” photos, Helms somehow finds himself branded with Tyson’s most infamous identifier: a tribal face tattoo. For a guy about to get married, that’s just not a good look. As he says before hanging his head, “Oh god!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Lady Gaga Wears Condom-Inspired Outfit On ‘Good Morning America’

‘Born This Way’ singer promotes AIDS awareness and MAC lipstick on Thursday’s show. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga on “Good Morning America” on Thursday Photo: ABC You might have done a double take on Thursday morning (February 17) if you were having your morning coffee while watching “Good Morning America.” Yes, that was Lady Gaga up bright and early, and yes, she did say she was wearing a “latex-condom-inspired outfit” as part of her bid to promote AIDS awareness. Four days after her instantly legendary entrance at the Grammy Awards in an egg-shaped vessel , the singer donned a flesh-colored sheath dress with matching shoes and a sculptural off-white hat to talk with “GMA” host Robin Roberts. “MAC has been fighting for identity and for passion and love and protection for so long,” said Gaga of the MAC brand of cosmetics, which she said raised $34 million last year through its Viva Glam lipstick brand for HIV/AIDS-related causes, some of it courtesy of an ad campaign starring Gaga and singer Cyndi Lauper. The goal this year, said Gaga, again sporting the alien-inspired facial ridges that seem to be part of her latest persona, was to raise $50 million. She then gave Roberts a sample of the taupe lipstick and lip glass that she designed for MAC, which gives 100 percent of Viva Glam proceeds to AIDS/HIV prevention. “I want to get people started at home at a younger age with their children talking about HIV, talking about AIDS, talking about safe sex,” she explained. “My mother talked to me about sex at a young age, and she always taught me to be self-aware — that’s in my new song, ‘Born This Way.’ I say ‘My momma told me when I was young …’ My first experience with my mother that I remember mostly was when she would put her lipstick on in the morning and she would talk to me about life.” The bottom line, self-described activist and social-justice fighter Gaga said, was to speak to the people in your life about safe sex in order to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Gaga also talked about her “genuine shock” at hearing her name called at the Grammys on Sunday night when she won the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance award for “Bad Romance.” “I so genuinely did not think I was going to win,” she said. “I really did, and I was so shocked and so honored and so humbled. And it was a very joyous day to sing ‘Born This Way’ for the first time.” Staying on message, Gaga then tied in the theme of the song with her MAC line, saying it is shame and stigma around the difficulty of talking to children about sex and AIDS that makes people not protect themselves. ” ‘Born This Way’ is about self love, and MAC AIDS Fund is about self love. … It is so much bigger than me,” she said. “It’s not about me at all. The song, when I wrote it, I just knew it was destined to reach so many people all over the world. The most humbling this for me this past weekend is watching the fans harness onto the record and … really enjoying the music and feeing uplifted and a sense of positivity.” Related Photos Lady Gaga’s Grammy Night The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga’s 2010 Looks, From Lacy Gowns To The Meat Dress

Singer made headlines for her fashions throughout the year. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images This may always be remembered as the year that Lady Gaga wore a meat dress to the VMAs , but the singer wore more than meat in 2010. As one of the year’s most stylish celebrities, Gaga managed to make headlines for her fashions, be they weird or beautiful. (Click for photos of Gaga’s best looks of 2010.) She wore hats made of telephones , semi-nude bodysuits, dresses that looked like they were modeled on planets , lots of bikinis (even one made of meat ), mirrors, sunglasses, masks and really anything your fashionista heart could desire. She took risks, and at times, even when she was dressed more conventionally, still looked edgy and completely herself. As the face of the MAC Viva Glam campaign, Gaga hit the trail alongside pop icon Cyndi Lauper to spread the word about the charity. During an event in London, Gaga donned all-black lace, including a bodysuit and tights. But she took the fitted, demure frock and amped up the style by including a voluminous hat-and-mask combination. Gaga once again wore lace, this time white, to the Almay concert to celebrate the Rainforest Fund. The look included a bodice, a bouffant and a flowery hair clip. Gaga wore several memorable looks to the VMAs , but it was her most sedate that was the most traditionally stylish. Her leather Armani-designed gown might have looked silly on anyone else, thanks to its pointy bustier, but if anyone can pull off points and a Mohawk, it’s Gaga. The singer also displayed her keen eye for fashion on the streets. While out in London in October, Gaga went boho chic rocking a gray and blue wig, tiered pale-blush gown and sunglasses. Meanwhile, in Paris months later, Gaga looked refined in a blush- and lavender-hued Victorian-style gown that she paired with sunglasses and a beehive. Which Gaga look was your fave? Lady Gaga Is MTV News’ Woman Of The Year

Massive tour, event videos and social causes earn Gaga her second-straight Woman of the Year title. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images Lady Gaga didn’t even release a proper album in 2010, and somehow, she managed to become an even bigger star. This had as much to do with the fact that she kept working with what she had — the endless tour, the incomparable videos — as it did with her harnessing her hard-fought stardom and attempting to become a force for social change. She spoke out loudly and proudly in support of gay rights and in opposition to the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, and, in the process, she became the kind of star we haven’t seen in decades: One unafraid to offend, no matter how much she stood to lose. (They’re more than just pretty faces, but you can still check out photos of our Men and Women of 2010!) And that fearlessness — coupled with her continued chart success and her envelope-pushing event videos — is why we’ve chosen Lady Gaga as MTV News’ Woman of the Year. It’s the second-consecutive year she’s taken home the honor , which is sort of fitting. After all, no one has dominated both the musical and pop-culture landscapes quite like she has over the past 24 months. This year, she just dominated differently. And so, in honor of her reign, here’s a look back at Lady Gaga’s 2010, a year in which she moved from pop icon to genuine social force. 2010 Highlights : Gaga began 2010 much like she ended 2009: on tour. In January, she wowed audiences with a triumphant four-night run at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and then stole the show at the Grammys with her Elton John duet and appropriately outrageous attire . She teamed with Cyndi Lauper for the MAC AIDS Fund VIVA Glam campaign and paid tribute to the late Alexander McQueen with a performance at the Brit Awards . In February, she began teasing both her revamped Monster Ball Tour and her upcoming “Telephone” video , which would catapult her to even greater fame. Directed by Jonas
