Forget James Bond: Robert Rodriguez Will Return With Machete Sequels

As Machete barrels toward its opening weekend with the same wafting smell of niche that ruined the Scott Pilgrim box office party, it seems a bit premature to start talk of a sequel. Or not. During a press junket for the film — which apparently teases such future titles as Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again in its end credits — director Robert Rodriguez all but confirmed that there will be more Machete movies in the future. Because if you can’t have another James Bond, why not more Machete instead?

Report: Miramax Sold to Group Not Including Rob Lowe

Guess what has two thumbs and doesn’t have to watch Rob Lowe “Proud Mary” Oscar Hell 100 times consecutively? This guy. That’s because Disney has reportedly agreed to terms to sell Miramax Films and its library to a team led by billionaire construction mogul Ronald Tutor. This would finally stall out the rumor mill that’s worked overtime since Disney put the mini-major on the block, flirting with everyone from Harvey Weinstein to (allegedly) Rob Lowe. And you can’t beat the price!

Lost’s Jeff Fahey on the Fate of Frank Lapidus and that Machete Trailer

Last week’s pivotal episode of Lost brought with it many casualties, and though Jin, Sun, and Sayid all got their due, we at Movieline would like to sing a ballad for Frank Lapidus. Over the last three seasons of Lost , Jeff Fahey has managed to make his errant pilot character one of the show’s most-liked with little more than a pocketful of one-liners in his arsenal. He may never have gotten his own flashback episode, but damn if we didn’t love him all the same. Last week was a big one for Fahey, between that nutso Lost episode and the trailer for Machete , where he reprises his Grindhouse role for director Robert Rodriguez. I called him up yesterday to chat about both.

Look everyone! Lindsay Lohan is working! We spotted the newly blonde actress wearing a bikini top and a towel on the set of Machete , a new movie directed Robert Rodriguez and produced by Quentin Tarantino . Also on set was her younger sister Ali Lohan , who followed her big sis around the set and watched as the Mean Girl star filmed some scenes in a pool. Also starring in the film are Robert De Niro , Danny Trejo , Jessica Alba , Steven Segal, Michelle Rodriguez , Don Johnson and Cheech Marin .
