Kylie Jenner: NOT Engaged to Tyga … For Hilarious Reason

Rumors of Kylie Jenner and Tyga engaged appear to be overblown, but wait until you hear the hilarious reason why they aren’t taking that step yet. The once-innocent 17-year-old’s relationship with the 25-year-old rapper Tyga, coupled with her changing appearance, has been hotly debated. That’s putting it nicely. Between Kylie Jenner’s lip injections and her near-constant deluge of racy photos on Instagram, she’s become a lightning rod for controversy. It’s her long-rumored relationship with Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, a.k.a. Tyga, that riles up fans – and her family – most of all, however. Even the Kardashians want to torpedo the romance because they worry about the outsized influence the rapper and his crew have on her. When the Kardashians of all people are worried about someone running with the wrong crowd, well, that pretty much sums up said crowd. But there’s also another, very different and LOL-tastic reason Kylie’s mom Kris Jenner does not approve, according to this new report: Tyga is flat broke. According to insiders, “Kylie and Tyga are not engaged … Kris Jenner refuses to allow a bankrupt, financially unstable wannabe ‘rapper’ into the fold.” “He’s not Kanye West.” No. No he is not. Of course, given Kylie’s rebellious streak, she could pursue this in spite of her Momager’s wishes … but it likely won’t sit well with her either. Even if Kris were to somehow come around, the inside source adds, “Kylie is too materialistic. We’re looking at a train wreck, not a love story.” The bottom line: Kris has built an empire, Kylie is the heiress apparent and a broke ass rapper doesn’t mesh well with this Machiavellian concoction. Tyga has enjoyed a good run, and is doing all he can to “get in early” as Kanye put it … but she may be posing like this for someone else before long: View Slideshow: 51 Wildly Inappropriate Photos of Kylie Jenner

‘X-Men: First Class’ Stars Say Their Heroes ‘Feel Like Real People’

James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender tell MTV News that the mutants’ struggle is a ‘universal theme.’ By Kara Warner, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy Photo: MTV News In a summer-movie season filled with caped crusaders, hammer-wielders and other assorted superheroes, a casual filmgoer might have trouble separating the mutants from future Avengers and all the complicated mythologies and story lines that follow. When MTV News sat down with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy recently to talk all things “X-Men: First Class,” we asked them to explain what separates their characters — Erik Lehnsherr/ Magneto and Charles Xavier/ Professor X, respectively — from the rest of the summer’s superpowered pack. “Well, it’s not in 3-D, that’s a start,” Fassbender said. “It’s not in 3-D, thank the heavens,” McAvoy agreed. “I think the X-Men, the X-people, mutants, they use their powers for good, just like a superhero does, but they don’t feel like superheroes. They feel like real people more — maybe that’s the thing that sets it apart.” “I think the philosophy of it as well,” Fassbender added. “The idea of alienation and misfits in society and how they struggle to be accepted and to find a place for them in society, I think that’s a universal theme and why people across the world find them intriguing.” Regarding Fassbender’s portrayal of the infamous mutant and future supervillain, we asked if the James Bond-ian aspects of his performance were intentional or based on the swingin’ ’60s-era setting of the film. “I just saw it as an opportunity to do a really elaborate James Bond audition,” he joked, which sent McAvoy into a mini-fit of giggles. “I just really exploited that fact really, and one always has to worry about the next job, that’s the problem,” he said with a smile. “In all seriousness,” he continued, “[director] Matthew [Vaughn] did say to me that the fact that it was set in the ’60s, and this character, Erik, he had envisioned him as a James Bond from the past, perhaps the Sean Connery-type mold,” Fassbender revealed. “I was like, ‘That’s interesting,’ but it didn’t really affect my portrayal. I just concentrated on what was in the comic books. The biography available in the comic books was so dense that I was spoiled for choice to go away and create this Machiavellian character.” Check out everything we’ve got on “X-Men: First Class.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .
