Bye Beyoncé Biter! Tiffany Haddish Says Sanaa Lathan’s Family Accused Her Of ‘Trying To Ruin Her Career’

For your viewing pleasure… Tiffany Haddish Covers The Hollywood Reporter, Speaks On Sanaa Lathan & Tracy Morgan Tiffany Haddish is currently covering The Hollywood Reporter where she’s dubbed “Comedy’s New Queen” and speaking on her rise from South Central L.A. to Hollywood stardom. The comedienne, 38, sat down with THR and spoke candidly on a number of topics including Tracy Morgan who shaded her in that interview and demanded to stop being asked about her. “He’s probably just tired of hearing my name. It’s exhausting. I’m tired of hearing my name. I could see how that could be irritating, like, ‘Hello, I died, people. I’m back from the dead. Tiffany’s cool, but it’s me sitting here now.’ So, I get it, I’m not mad about it, I love me some Tracy. Things got especially interesting however when Tiffany spoke on Sanaa Lathan who was confirmed (not by Tiffany) as the Beyonce biter in that infamous story. According to Tiffany Sanaa’s family was BIG mad at her and she was accused of trying to ruin her career. Not true says Tiffany, who’s adamant that she simply told the story to show that Baddie Bey kept her out of handcuffs that night. “I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad, and they were mad at me,” Haddish told The Hollywood Reporter . “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyoncé kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.” Sorry Sanaa, looks this story isn’t going away ANY time soon… Alberto E. Young Queen Runnin’ Thangs: Yara Shahidi Covers ESSENCE Magazine And Reveals Her Connection To Prince On “The Talk”

Yara Shahidi Opens Up To Essence About “Grown-Ish” And Being Woke One of our absolute FAVES Yara Shahidi is on the cover of ESSENCE Magazine’s April issue. Here’s a few quotes via Essence.com : On Social Media: “Quite honestly, I’m the kind of person to get my feelings hurt over something somebody said on Twitter,” the actress reveals to ESSENCE. “There are those moments when I can go through 10 million amazing comments that are super supportive, and one person may say something and I’ll stew over it. That’s something that I’ve actively had to work on.” On Activism Over Acting: “I’ve always struggled with Hollywood feeling trivial. Red carpets aren’t worth it. As fun as it is to get dressed up, it is surreal to be sitting at the Teen Choice Awards while [something like] Charlottesville is happening.” “I feel comfortable putting my political stances out there without feeling as though I am filling some sort of quota,” she says about being a socially active teenager who still wants to have fun. “I don’t have a wokeness quota for the day.” On Her Onscreen Love Scenes: Yara, who has yet to start to dating, tells me about a scene she had to shoot with an on-screen male love interest. ‘I’d [never] slow-danced with anyone before,’ she recalls, laughing. ‘Like, I’d never been this close to another human being—other than my mother—in my life…’” Hit the flip for some video footage from her shoot with Essence Continue reading

Someone We Actually Like: Lena Waithe Covers ‘Vanity Fair’ & Talks Representation

Leon Bennett/Getty Images for Essence #BlackGirlMagic… Lena Waithe Covers Vanity Fair Lena Waithe is covering Vanity Fair for a landmark issue helmed by new EIC Radhika Jones. In it, Waithe is interviewed by fellow queer writer Jacqueline Woodson on various topics including pitching stories to white execs and her role as a storyteller of queer black stories. “I am tired of white folks telling my stories. We gotta tell our s**t,” says Waithe. “Can’t no one tell a black story, particularly a queer story, the way I can, because I see the God in us.” Waithe adds, “I didn’t realize I was born to stand out as much as I do. But I’m grateful. Because the other black or brown queer kids are like, ‘Oh, we the s**t.’” Lena’s also clearly confident in her identity and her blackness and she dishes on her style. “Being black and gay, having dreadlocks, having a certain kind of swag, and dressing the way I do, [people say,] ‘That’s dope, you’re cool,’” she says. “I don’t feel validated by that. I don’t want to be white. I don’t want to be straight. I don’t want to blend in. I try to wear queer designers who happen to be brown and makin’ sh**.” We see you Lena! The creator of ‘The Chi/”/all-around dope human being’s Vanity Fair cover is being praised by the likes of Ava Duvernay, who Lena worked for as a trash taking out production assistant in her early years. Kendall Jenner Is The Highest Paid “Model”

According to my sources,  Kendall Jenner was recently named the highest-paid model in the world for 2017, although I’m pretty sure somebody got their math wrong. Are we sure they didn’t accidentally make a list of who pays the most for fashion magazine covers and not who gets paid the most? Anyway, assuming it is true, it just goes to show how sad the modeling industry is these days. Don’t get me wrong, Kendall’s definitely hot. But the idea that she’s the world’s most in-demand “supermodel” is a total joke.

Zendaya Talks The Sisterhood Of Sexual Misconduct Survivors And Says Being A Role Model Is Part Of Her Job

InStyle/Anthony Maule Zendaya Covers InStyle January, Speaks Up On Sisterhood and Her Latest Role Congratulations are in order for our girl Zendaya , who covers InStyle’s January issue! In her interview with Site Director Ruthie Friedlander, Zendaya confronts sexual harassment in Hollywood, chats about her new unisex fashion line, discusses working with Zac Efron on the upcoming movie The Greatest Showman (including performing her own trapeze stunts with the hunk), and being a role model first and foremost. Check out some great quotes from InStyle below: On her rise to the top, and the legacy she wants to leave “I just try to live, and, you know, sh*t happens. I’ve said it a million times, but I’d rather be known for the active change I’ve made than for what my name stands for.” On the responsibility that comes with fame “…I realize that [being a role model] is actually a huge part of the job. You sign up for that. You’re being watched. You can choose to accept that and appreciate it, or you can choose not to…I choose to acknowledge it.” Her reaction to recent sexual harassment allegations in Hollywood “The bravery of the women who came forward is a huge step toward making sure it’s safer for me and other young women who are just coming up. I’m at that prime age right now. Twenty-one. Starting off. That’s when people take advantage and abuse their power and do terrible shit. I think it’s definitely a sisterhood.” On why she was drawn to her role in The Greatest Showman co-starring Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron “A big part of my character’s storyline, the reason that she is an oddity, is that she and her brother are black…I’m biracial, so there are many [shared] experiences there.” COVER CREDITS InStyle’s January 2018 Issue goes on sale Friday, Dec. 8 Photographed for InStyle by Anthony Maule Top, pants, and necklace Chloé Earrings Jennifer Fisher Bracelet Bulgari Rings Bulgari and Jennifer Fisher
