INSTALLATIONS Cityscape 2095 Artists: Yannick Jacquet, Mandril, Thomas Vaquié [AntiVJ] AntiVJ artists Yannick Jacquet and Marc Ferrario blend painting with light projection to transform the walls of New Frontier into a luminous, three-dimensional cityscape that feels strangely familiar yet impossible to locate. With its disorienting sense of time and space, Cityscape 2095 places spectators on the observatory deck of a skyscraper, where they take in a sprawling, imaginary city as it glitters over the course of one day. Coral: Rekindling Venus Artist: Lynette Wallworth Inspired by the first collaboration among the international science community to witness the celestial transit of Venus in 1761, Lynette Wallworth’s visually stunning Coral: Rekindling Venus is an augmented-reality and full-dome planetarium presentation designed to nurture an emotional connection between a global audience and the planet’s endangered coral reefs. This epic project features original deep-sea photography, augmented-reality artwork and music by Antony and the Johnsons. Presented at the New Frontier venue in Park City, Salt Lake City’s Clark Planetarium and other locations nationally. Details to be announced. E.M-bed.de/d, Datamosh, Augmented Real Artist: Yung Jake Rap artist Yung Jake is Net art incarnate, flowing lyrics about tweet culture, data-moshing, hashtags, and memes as he blows up on Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, and Instagram in his HTML5 music video, E.M-bed.de/d. This MC drops unexpectedly into your browser sessions, streams into Festival screenings, Skype-bombs live DJ performances, and pops out of floors and magazines in augmented-reality music videos. Eyjafjallalokull Artist: Joanie Lemercier [AntiVJ] Inspired by the 2010 Icelandic volcanic eruption that wreaked travel havoc across Europe, Eyjafjallalokull is a stunning, three-dimensional, audiovisual mapping installation that challenges audiences’ perception of space by creating an optical illusion that transforms the walls of New Frontier into a sweeping digital vista that artistically recreates the seismic event. North of South, West of East Artist: Meredith Danluck North of South, West of East enhances narrative storytelling by wrapping the film around the entire room. Presented to an audience in swivel chairs, Meredith Danluck’s remarkable four-channel narrative feature deftly unspools a darkly humorous tale of small-town folks as they try to make sense of a posthope America. Shot on location in Detroit, Michigan, and Marfa, Texas, this unique film features fantastic performances by Ben Foster, Stella Schnabel, and Sue Galloway, and a soundtrack by Marfa local punk band Solid Waste. Pulse Index Artist: Rafael Lozano-Hemmer Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s beautifully resonant, interactive media installation swaths the central lounge of New Frontier with images of the warm, breathing flesh of its visitors. Pulse Index records the heart rates and fingerprints of participants and exhibits them in a beautiful Fibonacci pattern. Place your finger into the custom-made sensor, and your fingerprint appears on the largest cell of the display, pulsating to your heartbeat. Your print then travels down the sequence to join those of all the others who have visited the room, immersing the community space with the radiant glow of the human touch. What’s He Building in There? Artists: Klip Collective Ricardo Rivera and the Klip Collective transform the entire front of the New Frontier venue into an interactive, 3-D projection-mapped parable, inspired by the Tom Waits song. Sip a hot beverage in the outdoor lounge and watch the walls and windowpanes dissolve into a story about a man on a mysterious mission inside the building. Use the X-ray flashlight to peek at what he is up to. RELATED: Sundance Film Festival Reveals 2013 U.S. & World Competition Slate Follow Brian Brooks on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Dwight Howard Custody Battle: Royce Reed Wants NBA Star to Pay Legal Bills

Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard and ex Royce Reed are still embroiled in a bitter custody battle about their son – one she feels he should pay for. Royce, who you may remember from VH1’s Basketball Wives, wants Howard to pick up her legal bills as he seeks to gain sole custody of their young son. According to TMZ, Howard earns $1.3 million per month and should pay her bills, otherwise the legal fight isn’t really a fight, as she can’t afford it. Her lawyer says she’s racked up a $44,113.50 bill and can expect her total case to cost $106,621.80 … a drop in the bucket for Dwight. Not for her. Royce Reed was fired by Basketball Wives this year, much to Howard’s delight; he went to great lengths to prevent her from speaking his name on the show. They’ve been battling over custody of their son for at least two and a half years, with no end in sight.

Charlie Sheen: Lindsay Lohan Tax Savior!

Charlie Sheen reportedly reached out to help his troubled Scary Movie 5 co-star Lindsay Lohan pay off her outstanding IRS tab with a $100,000 check. Lohan owes $233,904 in back taxes to the federal government from 2009-2010. Sheen and Lohan, whose run-ins with the law and stints in rehab are well documented, apparently became close during the filming of the horror flick. Lohan even mentioned her tax woes to Sheen, who has plenty of cash to spare. Lindsay, 26, reportedly declined an offer by Charlie, 47, to pay down her IRS debt, but he sent a check to her manager anyway – for a hundred grand. Pretty nice gesture … and yet a little baffling, considering Lohan isn’t destitute. She’s set to make more than $2 million this year from various acting gigs. To Sheen, of course, that’s a drop in the bucket. He banked $2 million PER EPISODE of Two and a Half Men and Anger Management was just picked up for 90 additional episodes, guaranteeing syndication. Guess it helps to have an angel investor … or a devil investor in this case?

Watch Drunk State Prosecutor And Boyfriend Arrested For Biting Man’s Leg: Skulls Cracked And Screams Of “These Cuffs Are Too Tiiiight!” [Video]

This is ironic: A state prosecutor has been charged after biting a man’s leg during a drunken fracas at an adult store, authorities said. Sarah Naughton, an assistant state’s attorney for four years, was facing charges of misdemeanor battery and criminal trespass after the attack on Saturday night. Naughton and a male companion both appeared to be intoxicated, according to police, and were asked to leave shortly after they entered Taboo Tabou in Chicago. However, 31-year-old Naughton became belligerent and bit a manager. According to authorities, her friend, Bradley Gould, shoved the worker and made ‘menacing gestures’. The store owner took the manager to a nearby hospital for treatment and he was later released. Police arrived and placed the lawyer in handcuffs. She began wailing loudly that she couldn’t feel her hands because they were ‘too tight’. She rocked backwards and forwards on the curb, crying hysterically and at one point, called the arresting female police officer: ‘A f****** b**** w****.’ Her behavior was captured on video by a passer-by. After being taken away in a police van, Naughton was charged and released on bond. Taboo Tabou owner Mark Thomas told ABC: ‘My staff asked, ”Have you folks been drinking? Maybe you should come back when you’re sober.”’ Mr Thomas then said that Miss Naughton became enraged and started to tell them what she did for a living, pulling out a badge and adding: ‘You can’t do this to me…I’m a state’s attorney.’ Cook County spokesman Andy Conklin said Naughton had been placed on administrative leave during the investigation. It’s was not immediately known if Naughton and Gould had legal representation and the results of toxicology reports were unknown. Pure comedy… youtubeNewsPoliticsNow3

Amanda Bynes Refusing Rehab, Friends Claim

It was clear long before people saw Amanda Bynes doing drugs and driving around aimlessly this week that she has been on a disturbing downward spiral. Friends say she is “not in touch with reality” … gee, ya think? The star is accused of two separate hit-and-run accidents and was arrested April 6 for a DUI after sideswiping a police car. Her license has been suspended . Still, she shows no signs of slowing down, and has rejected any overtures to get help. In fact, she seems to be partying and crashing harder than ever. “Amanda is refusing to go to rehab or seek any form of psychiatric treatment or diagnosis, because it’s clear something is up with her ,” a close pal said. “She has been told by her agent and her dad Rick that she has substance abuse issues and needs to get help. She’s a lost little girl right now.” “Amanda’s completely gone off the grid. She won’t speak with her manager, her agent, her publicist; she’s not returning anybody’s phone calls.” “She’s obviously crying out for help, but isn’t ready to receive it. She seems to be having some serious mental health issues and she’s always out of it.” Here’s hoping she gets help for them before it’s too late. [Photo: WENN.com]

Damage Control: Frank Ocean’s Manager Issues Apology To Target Over ‘Anti-Gay’ Tweet Implications

Frank Ocean’s Manager Issues Apology To Target Frank Ocean’s manager did some damage control after recently posting a tweet that had fans in an uproar over Target’s decision not to carry the recently-outed singer’s new album . A manager for R&B singer Frank Ocean, who publicly came out of the closet last week, apologized to retail giant Target after suggesting that they would not be selling his clients CD because of his sexual orientation, according to a report from Billboard magazine. Target revealed that it would not be carrying Ocean’s debut studio album “Channel Orange,” due to the label’s decision to sell it digitally on iTunes ahead of its scheduled release date. But while Ocean’s manager Christian Clancy, announced via his Twitter page that they would not carry the disc due to the iTunes exclusive, he also implied that the decision had something to do with his admission about his sexuality. “Target has refused to carry Frank’s album because of iTunes exclusive,” Clancy initially tweeted.. “Interesting since they also donate to non-equal rights organizations.” But Target later issued a statement to Billboard magazine, denying that Ocean’s sexuality played any role in the matter. “The claims made about Target’s decision to not carry the Frank Ocean album are absolutely false. Target supports inclusivity and diversity in every aspect of our business. Our assortment decisions are based on a number of factors, including guest demand.” Clancy later backtracked on his tweet, saying “I apologize for my comments about Target. They are not carrying Frank’s album because it went digital first. Not for ANY other reason. … My response was simply an emotional knee jerk reaction. … Stop. Breath. Do the best you can. Be honest. Keep it moving.” Interesting turn of events. Do you think Target had ulterior motives for not carrying the album? Source
