OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPhone 5 – Retail Packaging review

I got my iPhone 5 today (through carrier sources) though it#39;s yet to be activated and the first thing I did naturally was put the Otterbox Defender case on it. I had the Defender for my 3GS and it protected my phone all these years. Didn#39;t have the iPhone 4/4S so I can#39;t compare it to that. Quick impressions so far: PROTECTION – Protection wise, the iPhone 5 Defender is at par with the 3GS. Industrial grade protection with complete coverage. Same concept and overall design, though the

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf’s’ Poster Evokes A Purple Passion For Fashion

One of Manhattan’s most distinct fashion emporiums gets its close-up in Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf’s ,  Matthew Miele’s documentary about the designers, buyers, window dressers and famous customers who make it a destination. Karl Lagerfeld , Oscar De La Renta , Diane Von Furstenberg, Christian Louboutin and Disconnect actor Marc Jacobs are among the fashion designers featured in this film, which has just unveiled a stylish new poster outfitted in the tasteful purple color — lilac, to be specific — of Bergdorf’s shopping bags. Here’s an exclusive look at the poster, along with the trailer and a synopsis: It’s the most mythic of all American emporiums – a one-of-a-kind Manhattan institution where over the last century, the view of fashion has been transformed into modern art.  But behind Bergdorf Goodman’s magical window displays lies a very real world where the rich and famous wield their power and eccentricity, where young and talented designers have their dreams granted and denied, and where money and ambition co-mingle with radical ideas of beauty and provocative style.  Now, for the first time, audiences get a chance to peek inside this world, as Matthew Miele’s  Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s  explores the history, inner workings and untold stories behind the store’s rise from a modest ladies’ tailor shop to a mirror of contemporary culture. Ya Big Dummies! 60 Plus Harlem Gangsters Arrested Over Incriminating Tweets, Facebook Posts, And YouTube Videos!

Damn they’re dumb…smmfh More Than 60 Harlem Gangsters Arrested Over Twitter, Facebook, And YouTube Posts Via NYPost These alleged gang bangers love the social media — and so do the cops and prosecutors who busted them. East Harlem has been cleared of 63 dangerous gangsters who openly incriminated themselves in slang-filled, misspelled postings on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, officials said today in announcing the takedown of three rival drug and gun rings. Some of the thugs even posted photos of themselves holding guns, officials said. “God forgives I don’t … somebody gotta die,” one alleged member of the gang “Air It Out,” posted on Facebook, according to the massive conspiracy indictments unsealed today. “I’m 2 Glocks strapped, rolling down 112th Madison, 116 this is the New Iraq,” boasted another alleged AIO member. “I’ll give u $300 if u clap a Trill or Whoadey before October,” another alleged Air It Out gangster promised, using the slang for shoot. The alleged members of “Air It Out,” “True Money Gang–” or “Trillas” and “Whoadey” — 18 of whom remain at large — have collectively notched three murders and some 30 shootings, officials said. The evidence against them — amassed by the Manhattan DA’s Violent Criminal Enterprise Unit, the NYPD’s Gang Division, and cops from the 23rd and 25th precincts and PSA5 — included dangerous surveillance and gun seizures conducted over the course of three years. According to the report, investigators even created a dictionary of slang terms that gang members used to communicate about criminal activities. A “2&5 train” is a .25 caliber gun, according to a two page glossary provided to reporters today. “Air it,” “dump on,” “pop a bottle” and “play the flute” all mean fire a gun, the list says. A gun itself can be a “biscuit, a “bitch,” a “blamer,” a “clickety,” a “drum set,” a “flocka,” a “girlfriend,” a “grip,” an “instrument,” a “ratchet,” “little piece of metal,” a “shorty,” a “speaker,” a “toy,” a “utensil,” and, more oddly, a “flamingo” or a “sandwich.” Cops are “boys,” money is “bread,” a pal is a “cro,” and bullets are “food,” “gas,” “sea shellz,” or “electricity.” Murder? That’s to “rock to sleep early,” the glossary says. “There is a lot of social networking and investigation using the Internet that all of us use now in law enforcement,” Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance said. “The Internet is our 21st Century crime scene.” These ninjas are BEYOND stupid, but we guess you can’t expect much common sense from criminals. Duggar Burger Bill: How Much?!?

This may explain why Duggars Tater Tot Casserole Recipe has gained such acclaim. Jim Bob and Michelle took their 21 children out to eat at Bill’s Bar & Burger yesterday in Manhattan and, approached by a TMZ cameraman soon after the meal, were forced to admit how much a simple family mean costs. A couple hundred? Try $614! That’s what happens when you purchase shakes… and burgers… and fries for over two starting baseball lineups’ worth of people. It’s also what happens when you eat in Manhattan.

Alec Baldwin’s Wife Sued Over Emotionally Troubling Yoga Class

Hilaria Thomas is expecting her first child with Alec Baldwin. But instead of simply sitting back and celebrating, the couple is now facing one of the most unusual lawsuits we’ve seen in 2013. While details are sparse, a man named Spencer Wolff has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court that claims he suffered “serious” and “severe” injuries – and became “emotionally upset” – during a Yoga class taught by Thomas on January 15. It’s unclear just what this means, but Wolff cites an “overcrowded” class and “negligence” on the part of Baldwin’s spouse for the basis of his injuries. Thomas and Baldwin were married in June of 2012. She has been teaching yoga since 2005 in New York City.

When The Checks Start Coming In: Maid Who Claimed Rape Finally Gets Her Stacks From Former French Official

This has been a long time coming… According to The New York Times , the amount she’s due to receive isn’t known, but it should definitely be a pretty ‘lil penny : The settlement…was announced at a hearing in State Supreme Court in the Bronx, eight long miles from the headline-grabbing case’s genesis: a 28th-floor suite at the Sofitel hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Justice Douglas E. McKeon entered the courtroom at 2:15 p.m., and said a deal had been finalized in his presence about 10 minutes earlier. Both sides agreed that the settlement would be confidential. The housekeeper, Nafissatou Diallo, who was at the hearing and went public with her identity last year, said afterward: “I thank everyone all over the world and everyone at the court. God bless you all.” Mr. Strauss-Kahn, who was not in court, was arrested in May 2011 after Ms. Diallo told detectives that he had assaulted her in his suite. Mr. Strauss-Kahn was indicted on charges including attempted assault, abuse, criminal adult acts, unlawful imprisonment, and forcible touching. The arrest threw Mr. Strauss-Kahn’s career in turmoil: he resigned his post as head of the International Monetary Fund in disgrace and his rumored candidacy for the French presidency was abandoned before it could begin. He was first held in jail without bail, and won his release to house arrest only under extraordinary conditions. But the criminal case began to crumble when questions of Ms. Diallo’s credibility convinced the Manhattan district attorney’s office that it could not reasonably persuade a jury to trust her account. The case was dismissed in August 2011; court papers at the time described Ms. Diallo, an immigrant from Guinea, as having been “persistently, and at times inexplicably, untruthful in describing matters of both great and small significance.” But by then, Ms. Diallo had filed her civil suit in the Bronx, where she lives. Mr. Strauss-Kahn has said the relations with Ms. Diallo was consensual, though in a French television interview after the criminal case was dismissed, he acknowledged that the encounter was “an error” and “a moral failure” that he would forever regret. Was justice served for such a ruthless attack? Images via tumblr
