‘It wasn’t something sensationalistic happening,’ Anthony tells ‘Nightline.’ By Gil Kaufman Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Photo: WireImage While the couple appeared to be happily married and had plans for a joint reality show, clothing line and other business ventures, Marc Anthony said there’s nothing shocking about the fact that he and soon-to-be-ex wife Jennifer Lopez are getting a divorce. The Latin singer sat down with ABC’s “Nightline” for an interview that will air Thursday night (September 1), in which he said that he was not surprised when Lopez, his wife of seven years , filed for divorce on July 15. “I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic happening,” Anthony said of their split . “It was a realization on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly.” Anthony said the bottom line was that the marriage just no longer “worked,” but despite the split, he will always have feelings for Lopez, with whom he has 3-year-old twins Max and Emme. “I’ll always love Jennifer,” he said. “She knows that … my kids know that. Jennifer’s a wonderful, wonderful woman, a wonderful mother, a wonderful friend.” He also denied rumors that he was unfaithful during his marriage, but did not address recent reports about an alleged close relationship with married “HawthoRNe” star Jada Pinkett Smith that set off whispers about alleged trouble in her marriage to Will Smith . Since the split, he said he’s been taking long motorcycle rides and spending time at his Long Island home, which he refers to as “Casa Marc Anthony.” “It is sad, because you think about the impact of all those people who believe in you,” he said. “You think about your family and the possibilities, but we realized very early on that even though we’re not together, our story’s not over. The hip-hop power couple has never been shy when it comes to public displays of affection, and apparently they aren’t timid about discussing marriage, either. “We discuss it all the time; like he said, we’re very much in love,” Rose told MTV News while standing next to her “Black and Yellow” rapper beau on the VMA Pre-Show black carpet . “But, ya know, we’re just going to take our time and just enjoy each other right now. We’re both really busy and we work really hard and when the time comes, it’s gonna come.” Besides working on some music and a film with her man, Rose said having a baby with Wiz is also on her agenda. The former Ford model and ex-girlfriend of Kanye West recently admitted to Global Grind that she’s eager to procreate with the Pittsburgh rapper. “I want to be a mom really bad. The season premiere is a few weeks away, and the only thing more exciting than watching the new crop of celebs strut their stuff for the first time is finding out exactly what brave stars have been assembled to compete. The wait is over as ABC announced their bright, shiny new cast Monday night (August 29) during “Bachelor Pad.” Here’s a look at the eclectic new contestants readying their dancing shoes for season 13 of “Dancing With the Stars”: Nancy Grace The former prosecutor has made a name for herself as the host of her own talk show on HLN. Grace covers the world of current affairs, in a no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners approach that often draws criticism for her snap judgment and pointed opinions. Ricki Lake Longtime fans will always remember Lake from her big-screen debut as Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 movie “Hairspray.” Later in life, Lake made a name for herself with her daytime talk show, which ended its 11-year run in 2004 but is reportedly returning to TV in fall 2012. Chynna Phillips Phillips has long been in the public eye and is perhaps best known as being part of popular ’90s trio Wilson Phillips. Or maybe he should just keep it in the family. Chaz Bono Bono is the only child of superstars Cher and the late Sonny Bono. Despite living in the shadow of famous parents, Chaz, who was born Chastity, is a writer, actor and musician, and is well-known in the LGBT community for being a transgender advocate. David Arquette While Arquette is known for memorable roles in film and television, particularly as dopey policeman Dewey Cox in the “Scream” franchise, the actor/director/writer/occasional professional wrestler made headlines last year when he and Courteney Cox, his wife of nearly 11 years, announced their separation. Three months later, after giving Howard Stern a particularly revealing interview about the state of his marriage, Arquette checked himself into rehab for issues with alcohol. He is in recovery and has reportedly been sober since. Ron Artest Or should we say Metta World Peace? The outspoken Lakers player and rapper, who is currently trying to change his name to that Ochocinco-esque alias, made headlines years ago for an on-court brawl but is now known as a quirkily lovable personality. We’ll see what antics he has up his sleeve on the dance floor. J.R. Martinez This surefire fan favorite is an actor, motivational speaker and retired soldier who suffered burns over 40 percent of his body when his Humvee hit a landmine in Iraq. Martinez turned the harrowing experience into an inspirational tale for other burn victims and now has a role on ABC’s “All My Children.” Carson Kressly This fashion guru got his celebrity start as one of the “Fab Five” on Bravo’s “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.” Kressley has an eye for how to make people look good and frequently appears on TV talk shows to offer his expert opinions on fashion. Surprise, surprise a Republican has proven to be a hypocrite… Republicans who support gay rights have seen their brief hopes for Rick Perry’s candidacy dashed as old quotes surface, new pledges are signed and news of his forthcoming campaign events and associations emerges. The Texas governor and leading presidential candidate briefly gave hope to the increasingly influential group of Republican LGBT advocates when he expressed his support for the rights of states to pass their own legislation governing marriage. Since then, however, he has said he would back a constitutional amendment banning the practice, while quotes from an old book surfaced in which he compared homosexuality to alcoholism. On Friday, meanwhile, Perry signed the National Organization for Marriage’s pledge that would, among other things, commit him to support sending a federal marriage amendment to states upon becoming president. But the icing on the cake could come this weekend, when Perry is set to mingle with one of the most virulently anti-gay activists and prominent social conservative donors in his home state. The event, officially labeled a “call to action,” will feature a retreat at a Texas Hill Country ranch. Among the event’s hosts will be David Barton, an evangelical leader and founder of the organization WallBuilders. Barton is most commonly known for holding revisionist historical views, specifically regarding the history of civil rights. But his incendiary stance on LGBT issues has made him an object of intense concern for both progressives who monitor right-wing figures and for Republicans who support gay rights. Most recently, when the state of New York legalized same-sex marriage, Barton argued that anti-gay groups should proverbially “scalp” the four Republican state senators who had backed the bill. He added some choice words for Ken Mehlman, the former RNC Chairman turned LGBT activist, as well. Perry’s fellow Republican comrades are less than pleased with his decision to say the least. “It is unfortunate Governor Perry decided to turn to a big government, anti-conservative position by signing the National Organization for Marriage’s pledge,” said R. Clarke Cooper, Executive Director of the Log Cabin Republicans. “This pledge is out of step with America and the general electorate the GOP needs to win the White House.” Translation: “This mickiefickie is gonna F up our chances of winning this election by pissing off all the voting fa-, er…homosexuals.” SMH Source

Tia recently sat down with our sister site The Urban Daily and dished on her relationship with newlywed sister Tamera Mowry-Housley, how she’s adjusting to being a working mother and how she’s bringing the sexy back into marriage after giving birth: How do you guys balance your connection as twin sisters while maintaining your separate lives? It’s challenging and I think the reason why we remain so close because we keep it a priority. Whenever you keep a priority you definitely make time for it. But there are some sacrifices like I would want my sister to be around more for me while I’m in Atlanta. But she’s a newlywed. It would be selfish of me to ask her to stay with me for two to three weeks while I’m in Atlanta working. She has to spend some time with her husband. She’s not going to be a newlywed forever. she really has to live and play out that role as a new wife and vice versa. I’m sure she would want me to partake in many of the dinners that she has with her new husband. An example is she surprised Adam (Tamera’s husband ) with a birthday party. Unfortunately, Cory and I couldn’t make it because we had to watch the baby. The baby is still breast feeding and he’s still young and can’t go out at night. So she has to understand why we couldn’t be there. But as long as we communicate with each other and don’t take things personal, I think we’ll be cool. I know you filmed the show while you were pregnant. When women are pregnant they go through mood swings where sometimes you’re happy and other times you’re not. How was it shooting a reality show while being pregnant? Oh, gosh. [laughs] I was hesitant about doing it because I knew that I was going to see myself in a vulnerable place. I’m still seeing myself in a vulnerable place. As of my weight, I’m the biggest I’ve ever been and I was the biggest I’ve ever been on television. It’s hard seeing yourself like that. I had to remind myself that I did all of this for my son and I have plenty of time to get the weight off. And I will get this weight off of me because I’m working with my fabulous trainer. It was difficult seeing myself pregnant, but at the same time, I’m happy that I did it because my son will have some documentation of his mom. I miss being pregnant. I really do.
