Blige recently opened up about how she and husband of 11 years, Kendu Isaacs, have made it through the rough terrain of maintaining a happy matrimony-dom and a working business relationship (Isaacs is still her manager to this day). Among their tactics is each making sure the other has no friends of the opposite sex — Kendu is only permitted to socialize and hang out with other men, while Mary respectfully does the same with other women. As she explains to Stella Magazine : The couple live in a $12 million mansion beside the Hudson River in New Jersey and will celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary next month. “It definitely feels like an achievement. I never thought I’d last this long in a marriage,” she admits. What are the benefits of marrying one’s manager, I ask. “He always has my back – he’s going to fight to the death for Mary J Blige. The downside is that there’s no separation – it’s on all the time. When you don’t feel like answering to your manager, he’s still your husband,” she says, laughing. How do they negotiate that? “If one of you doesn’t want to talk about something right now, you have to respect that. And you have to respect each other’s space.” They have separate groups of friends. “All females for me, all guys for him,” she says, sternly. “There’s none of that, ‘Oh, that’s my female friend. Oh, that’s my guy friend.’ No. Not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.” But being a wife has changed her in ways she didn’t expect. “Being a single person and an artist, there’s a lot of selfishness that you don’t even know you have,” she says. “Being a wife, it’s not all about me.” Damn, what happened to trust? A super secret wedding like her big sis , eh?? Solange Knowles Set To Marry Boyfriend Alan Ferguson Via US Magazine reports: Following in her big sister’s footsteps! Solange Knowles is set to marry her longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson in New Orleans this weekend, sources exclusively confirm to Us Weekly. The 28-year-old DJ has kept her wedding and even her engagement to the video director a total secret. The nuptials will take place in near the home the “Losing You” singer shares with her 10-year-old son Julez in New Orleans. Though much of the details of the event are being kept under wraps, Us Weekly has learned the weekend’s schedule. On Friday, Nov. 14, the group will enjoy a movie night together before Saturday’s rehearsal dinner. Then on Sunday, Nov. 16, Knowles and Ferguson will make it official in front of friends and family. Similarly, Beyonce married Jay Z in April 2008 in a secret ceremony. This will be the second wedding for the diva’s younger sister, who wed Julez’s father Daniel Smith in February 2004 when she was 17 and he was 19. In a 2007 interview with Essence, she confirmed that she had divorced Smith. Solange continues to co-parent her little boy with her ex. Ferguson has been close to the Knowles family for years, presenting at the 2012 BET Awards alongside his future sister-in-law. He also attended events with Solange, being photographed as her date. In June, the couple visited Jamaica for Solange’s 28th birthday, with the DJ posting rare photos with her man. “Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago. My love life has been stable for a while,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in March 2014. “It’s a f–ked-up thing — without conflict it’s a lot harder to write interesting songs.”? Carpet-munchin’ martrimony-dom ain’t easy … Ellen Degeneres And Wife Portia Rumored To Have Had Major Fight Prior To Charity Event Via NYPost Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi didn’t show up at a charity fund-raiser for rescued animals after having a huge fight in the car on the way to Sunday’s event, sources tell Page Six. The power couple was on the way to the Saving SPOT! fund-raiser at Tiato in Santa Monica when they got into an argument and turned around without attending the event, even though they were listed and pictured on the invitation as hosts. Ellen and Portia on Monday insisted to Page Six they had informed the charity they would be unable to make it and their picture should not have been on the invitation. A source told us: “Ellen and Portia were supposed to be at the event at 5 p.m., but at 6:30 p.m., the media was still waiting for their arrival. Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren’t going to make it due to ‘logistics.’” The source added, “Ellen and Portia were delayed and were in the car on the way, when they had an epic fight. They ended up turning around and not going to the fund-raiser.” Saving SPOT! is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs and providing them with caring owners. Ellen and Portia attended last year’s benefit in Beverly Hills and had been happy to be listed as hosts for this year’s event, we’re told. Ellen — a generous animal-welfare supporter — and Portia said in a statement to Page Six: “We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend. This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading.” DeGeneres’ attorney Marty Singer said, “The story is a complete lie. My client told the organizer they never agreed nor planned to attend the event. There was no fight that caused them not to attend.” The charity didn’t respond to requests for comment. Ellen recently slammed divorce rumors and reports of arguments on the season premiere of her talk show. “I had a great summer,” she said in September. “I went on a trip with Portia, my beautiful wife — who I am happily married to, but thank you for your heartfelt concern, tabloids.” Ellen better get right before Portia gets ready to sign them papers.
