‘Jersey Shore’ High Five: Hair Flies And Hate Sex

From a house-wide brawl to Vinny and Angelina’s out-of-nowhere hookup, we recap this week’s episode of ‘Jersey Shore.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Snooki and Vinnie on “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV When we last left the “Jersey Shore,” the housemates were in the middle of mediating a highly emotional dispute or, as most viewers saw it, getting ready to throw down. Things came to a head after Vinny let JWoww know that Angelina was telling the rest of the gang about Pauly D’s “drunkity” state. Eventually, the issue turned into a smackdown between JWoww and Sammi, who were already giving each other the side-eye over the infamous “anonymous” letter to Sammi (which, we know, was penned by Snooki and JWoww) detailing Ronnie’s conquests. But that was just the first five minutes. Here’s a recap of the biggest moments from Thursday’s “Jersey Shore”: 5. Ferry Love After Vinny called out Angie’s town-crier approach to Pauly’s drunken night, the Staten Islanders spent most of the episode going at each other’s necks. Angelina even laid out her distaste for Vinchenzo at the gelato shop, telling Mike, “He’s not even good-looking, so he needs to jump off the ‘I’m good-looking’ train.” But by the episode’s final cab ride home, guess which two ferry-riders were sucking face in the back seat? Even the dude who laced Angie with a spankin’ new Fossil timepiece didn’t get all that. 4. Snooki the Multitasker Snooks finally got some action! Hurrah! Apparently, she didn’t waste precious bar banter coaxing details from her date and waited instead until they hit the sheets. The late-night canoodling woke up roomie JWoww with a mixture of moans and queries like, “How far you do live from here?” 3. Is Ronnie R. Kelly? Ron-Ron has been pretty much dogging Sammi for most of the season and, of course, the resident “Shore” philosopher Mike served up an insightful assessment of the situation. “He’s been peeing on her, and she’s still with him,” The Situation observed. “This is like when you’re a little kid and you find out Santa Claus is dead.” And everyone knows that finding out Santa died — instead of, you know, never existing in the first place — is way more traumatic. 2. Girlfight JWoww and Sammi didn’t hold back in the epic episode-opening catfight, which, as Ron-Ron put it, was “like putting firecrackers in a Dumpster.” The brawl sent parts of the d

B.o.B Recalls Hustling Candy On ‘When I Was 17’

‘I had a bookbag with no books in it — just Kit Kats,’ MC says on Saturday’s episode By Mawuse Ziegbe B.o.B Photo: MTV News B.o.B is one of the most high-profile faces in the Grand Hustle fold, second only to fellow ATL rhyme-slinger T.I. It appears that even before he inked a label deal, the MC always maintained a hustler’s spirit. On the latest episode of “When I Was 17,” which premieres Saturday at 11 a.m., the MTV VMA nominee describes how he pushed sweets to his fellow high-schoolers for extra cash. “I had a hustler mentality. One day, I was looking at the vending machine in my high school cafeteria, and I remember thinking, ‘I can do better than that vending machine,’ ” the lyricist recalls. “So, I went to Sam’s Club and got the industrial-size box. I got what the vending machine didn’t have, or what they always ran out of, and I would go to school [and] sell candy.” The budding rapper did good business, too. Staying stocked with treats for sugar-lovin’ students, Bobby Ray got a hands-on — and lucrative — lesson in applied economics. “You can get 36 candy bars for about $12, and those 36 candy bars would get you anywhere from $18 to $24. So, you just double your profit,” B.o.B remembers of his candy-peddling payoff. “I had a bookbag with no books in it — just Kit Kats.” B.o.B and his buddy Stephen remember that the then-rising MC maintained a broad inventory of snacks that kept his customers coming back. “He sold Starbursts,” Stephen says. “Rice Krispie treats,” B.o.B adds. Stephen: “Pixy Stix.” B.o.B: “Hot Cheetos.” “M&M’s, whether they were peanut or without peanut,” Stephen recalls. Eventually, B.o.B’s customers were trained to think of the teen entrepreneur whenever they needed a sugar fix. “People get used to buying it,” B.o.B explains. “They’re like, ‘Hold on. It’s 12:45 and I don’t have my Kit Kat. What’s going on?’ ” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring B.o.B, Usher and Ne-Yo — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. Wyclef Jean Slams Sean Penn, Pras

‘Maybe [Penn] ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine,’ ‘Clef sings in concert. By Mawuse Ziegbe Wyclef Jean and Sean Penn Photo: Getty Images Wyclef Jean may not be president but he’s got some high-profile critics. When the singer and musician launched a highly-publicized bid for president of Haiti in August he had a lot of support, but also some very vocal detractors — namely actor and fellow activist Sean Penn and Jean’s former Fugees bandmate Pras. Both stars publicly questioned ‘Clef’s political credentials and at a New York City on Friday, Jean lashed out against the critics. “I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine,” Jean sang at Hot 97’s On The Reggae Tip concert , switching up the lyrics to his 2004 song “President.” “I got a message for Praswell, even though you don’t want to support me, I got love for you, even though you only kicked 8 bars in the Fugees.” A few weeks after announcing his plans for the presidency, Jean was declared ineligible to run by Haitian electoral officials . Wyclef’s lyrics are the latest swipes in a series of public comments between the musician and Penn and Pras. When Jean spoke about his plans to run for Haiti’s head of state on CNN, Penn, who was also a guest on the show , expressed his concerns about the singer’s motivations for seeking political office. “Right now, I worry that this is a campaign that is more about a vision of flying around the world, talking to people. It’s certainly not one of the youth drafting him. I would be quite sure that this is an influence of corporations here in the United States and private individuals that may well have capitalized on his will to see himself flying around the world,” Penn said. The actor also wrote in a Huffington Post column that despite Jean’s public support for the island nation, the MC wasn’t around during critical moments after Haiti’s devastating January earthquake. “I was there for those six months after the earthquake and so many of us on the ground wondered where he was when that kind of attention was so necessary and absent, and why he was NOT helping to keep this desperate situation in the news,” he wrote. “None among us felt or expressed anger toward it, but rather a universal sadness for his silence, as he is America’s most admired cultural link to Haiti.” Pras questioned ‘Clef proposed strategy — or lack thereof — for revitalizing the country after the distaster. “He talks about health care, he talks about education, he talks about infrastructure,” Pras told MTV News last month. “But that’s in any society. That’s right here in America, we need that. But how are you gonna get to that point? There’s a short-term goal that needs to be addressed and there’s a long-term goal. To be honest with you, the short term is probably more important than the long term. And he didn’t even mention the short term.” What do you think about Wyclef Jean’s comments about Sean Penn and Pras? Let us know! Related Artists Wyclef Jean Pras

Trey Songz Plays Passion, Pain & Pleasure Songs On Ustream

The singer previews a few tracks from September 14 LP and phones some lucky fans during broadcast. By Mawuse Ziegbe Trey Songz Photo: Ustream With Trey Songz’ Passion, Pain & Pleasure September 14 release date just days away, the singer decided to give his devoted fans a special preview. The Virginia crooner took to Ustream to share a few sensual cuts from his upcoming fourth album. Fresh from a massage and outfitted in a plain white tee and a fitted cap, Songz led his broadcast from Cincinnati, Ohio, the Thursday (September 2) stop on his Passion, Pain & Pleasure Tour . In the hour-long Ustream session, Songz spoke with a few lucky fans on the phone about what they’re most passionate about and played tracks like the sultry slow jam “Love Faces.” The singer grooved along with the song, a midtempo number that proves his knack for cranking out baby-making music is intact with lines like, “Wouldn’t it be nice if all night I was in you?” Songz was proud of his work, saying, “That thang cold, y’all, that thang cold,” when the track wrapped up. Throughout the broadcast, Songz lamented the leak of Pleasure tracks like “Love Faces” and “Doorbell,” which began making the Internet rounds last week. “Shout out to everybody who didn’t listen to the leaks,” he said. But the singer brushed off the premature release of some of his tracks, adding, “Bootleggers gotta eat. I ain’t mad at y’all boys.” Songz also gave fans a taste of “Massage,” another bedroom-burner dedicated to lavishing a lover with a head-to-toe rubdown that he frequently performs on the tour while hooking up a lucky concertgoer with an actual massage. In addition, Ustream viewers heard the sizzling “Doorbell,” a track in which Songz unapologetically gets down to the business of gettin’ busy. “Put my lips all over you/ Wanna put on a show for you/ This bedroom is my Colosseum/ Ring my bell, I’ll let you in,” Songz belts. T.I.’s Wife, Tiny, Tweets After Arrest

ATL rapper’s spouse thanks supporters, as 50 Cent gives the couple his two cents on Twitter as well. By Mawuse Ziegbe Tiny and T.I. Photo: Eugene Gologursky/ Getty Images After getting arrested with her husband, T.I. , on Wednesday night for possession of a controlled substance, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle took to Twitter to thank fans for the e-support. “Jus wanted 2say thank u 2every1 dats been leaving encouraging msgs & prayers!” Tiny tweeted on Thursday (September 2). “We love u guys:) going 2bed now! So glad 2b n a nice clean bed.” Tiny and her new hubby were picked up in Los Angeles after police stopped T.I. (born Clifford Harris Jr.) around 10:30 p.m. for making an illegal U-turn in his Maybach, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. When the officers approached the vehicle, they apparently smelled the scent of marijuana wafting from the car and then searched the passengers and the automobile. Police found an unspecified number of pills that “resembled ecstasy.” T.I. and Tiny were not traveling alone but the Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said the other passengers in the car were not charged with a crime. The duo posted $10,000 bail each and were released early Thursday morning. They are due in court on September 3. Other celebs have weighed in on the alleged drug bust as well. 50 Cent suggested that Tiny take the fall for Tip, who was released from prison earlier this year after completing a jail bid stemming from weapons charges. “Man TI and tiny done got picked up agin for methamphetmines and ecstacy dam man,” 50 tweeted . “Tiny gotta take that charge. Say it was yours, Baby.” Frequent T.I. collaborator DJ Drama did not directly reference the arrests, but did tweet, “So I wake up to the news …. damn…” The incident comes just days after T.I. kicked off the week with the #1 movie in the country, “Takers,” a film he worked on as both a star and a producer . In addition, the ATL MC’s latest single, “Pledge Allegiance to the Swag,” surfaced on the Web on Wednesday. Related Photos T.I. And Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle Related Artists T.I.

50 Cent Gives Up Twitter To Work On Album

MC says he won’t tweet until September 6 to work on The Return of the Heartless Monster. By Mawuse Ziegbe 50 Cent Photo: MTV News 50 Cent’s Twitter followers are going to have to find other ways to amuse themselves this weekend. The MC says he’s giving up tweeting to pen his next effort, The Return of the Heartless Monster. “Ok ladies and [gentlemen] I’m writing my new album. I will not be on twitter again till Sept 6,” Fif wrote Wednesday (September 1). “This album will be a classic,” added the MC, who announced the album title on Twitter . 50 has been putting in work on his new material. Swizz Beatz recently told MTV News that he has been in the studio with the G-Unit boss, after 50 reportedly shelved much of the dance-music-friendly sound he originally envisioned for his upcoming music. While the arrival of Kanye West and his multifaceted musings on the micro-blogging website has sparked major fanfare from fans and the media, 50’s missives have ramped up in both frequency and ridiculousness over the past few weeks. Some days, Fif has been introspective and candid, sharing the inner-workings of his subconscious with followers. “Just woke up I had a dream I put stars On my head like baby [of Cash Money]. then I was at church they told me take my hat off I said I just wanta pray lol,” 50 typed Sunday. “That’$ crazy why wa$ baby on my mind. oh I wa$ looking at old xxl magazine$ la$t night. anyway$hout out to baby I know that [hurt].” Other times, the Queens MC has added his voice to the public discourse about the state of the economy, and even doled out advice to our increasingly embattled president. “Obamas ratings are down cause he didn’t include pimpin and hoein in stimulus package. Good hoes would boost male moral and fix the recession,” 50 asserted Saturday. The “Baby by Me” rapper later added, “Sh– I should run america. first thing I’d do is cut my taxes then tell yal chill the f— out ima get to the rest of the problems. You know me and george bush was born on the same day july6. Speaking of birthdays everybody on twitter should send me just 1 dollar cool?” The Before I Self Destruct rapper has even mused about his tough childhood. “My aunt sylvia didnt like me growin up cause she was the baby till I came,” 50 also wrote Saturday. “We had roaches so she put roach spray in a bowl and kill my dog.” Of course, it wouldn’t be 50’s Twitter page if he didn’t take a swipe at the competition. “I just looked at kanye page what the f— kind a spaced out tweets are those,” the MC typed earlier in the day. “F— that I aint never looking at that sh– again.” Although 50 has built an empire on his super-tough persona, the MC has conceded that his words may be a wee bit harsh for his Twitter fans. “Look man I’m sorry I’ve been cursing,” 50 said. “But f— that sh– I gotta express myself, bitch.” Will you miss 50 on Twitter? Katy Perry, Russell Brand Hookup Detailed On ‘VMA’s Revealed’

Stars’ relationship is broken down on MTV special premiering this Saturday at 11 a.m. By Mawuse Ziegbe Katy Perry and Russell Brand Photo: Jeff Vespa/ Getty Images Lots of craziness went down onstage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards . Rappers like Lil Mama and Kanye West couldn’t resist bum-rushing the stage, Janet Jackson and Madonna contributed to an icon-heavy tribute to the late, great Michael Jackson, and when Lady Gaga wasn’t dashing in and out of elaborate getups, she was writhing onstage drizzled with blood. Unbeknownst to viewers, the backstage madness rivaled the antics that made the big show. Indeed, so much ridiculousness went down that MTV had to dish in “VMA’s Revealed,” an insider’s look at the 2009 festivities that premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. The show also turned out to be the backdrop for one of pop culture’s most high-profile pairings: Katy Perry and Russell Brand . The duo are engaged and are rumored to be hitting the altar later this year. As “Revealed” shows, hitting the VMAs last year became a fortuitous turn for both stars. Both Brand and Perry returned to the VMAs in ’09 after making an impression on viewers — and each other — the year before. They got each other’s attention in passing as rookies in 2008 — she was a first-time performer, he was making his hosting debut — but the next year they realized they had more in common than just sharing the marquee at the VMAs. “I really appreciate his sense of humor. It’s real dark, it’s real wrong and it’s really funny,” Perry says in the episode about her hubby-to-be. Brand, whose grand entrance at the 2009 event was heralded by Perry belting Queen’s “We Will Rock You” accompanied by Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, admits that he has a way with words when it comes to his pop-star love. “It seems like I can say whatever I want and sort of get away with it,” Brand cheekily observes. To find out how Perry and Brand went from ripping the VMA stage to barreling down the road toward holy matrimony, catch “VMA’s Revealed” Saturday at 11 a.m. The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for the winners in general categories, including Best New Artist, from now through September 12.
