Four months after she welcomed daughter Maxwell, Jessica Simpson’s post-baby body is looking curvaceous and gorgeous. But she says there’s work to be done. What kind of work? Maxwell Cancels Tour To Seek Treatment For Damaged Vocal Cords Ladies, you can hold on to your panties. Maxwell won’t be coming to a city near you anymore. Singer Maxwell has cancelled his shows for the summer due to vocal cord damage. According to a statement released by his reps, Doctors have advised the singer/songwriter against taking the stage. He has been diagnosed with definitive vocal cord edema (swelling) and a vocal cord hemorrhage. “I know this sucks but after many months of recording I’ve temporarily damaged my voice,” Maxwell said in the statement. “I’ve had issues before during other tours, but was able to power through. I’ve been strongly advised to rest and undergo treatment. Happy Birthday bruh man! Maxwell Turns 39 Years-Old Today Singer Maxwell, who possesses one of the smoothest voices in R&B, turns 39 today. Born in Brooklyn, New York, this soul singer made his musical debut in 1996 with the release of his debut album, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite. It was an overnight success and featured numerous hit singles, including “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder),” “Whenever Wherever Whatever” and “Sumthin’ Sumthin.’” The success of the album launched him into super-stardom and landed him comparisons to greats like Marvin Gaye. In the years that followed, Maxwell released two more albums Embrya (1998) and Now (2011); the former earning him a 1997 Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album. Now rose to the top of the Billboard 200 and the top of the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It spawned the singles “Get to Know Ya,” “Lifetime” and the hugely popular “This Woman’s Work.” It would also be the singer’s last album before an eight-year hiatus. In July 2009 Maxwell returned to the mic with BLACKSummers’night.
