Imagine you're on a road trip with friends, or you're tired from a long day of camping, or you've simply pulled over to sleep off the pint of schnapps you downed between rest stops. For whatever reason, you've dozed off inside a car, and you're drifting off to Dreamland…when one of your a-hole buddies decides it would be funny to wake you up by pretending to divorce your head from the rest of your body. Funny stuff, right? Well, yeah, but only if you're the guy wielding the chainsaw and not the one running for his life. This is obviously a step up from stuff like the McDonald's hot sauce prank , but it's not quite on the level of the pranksters who pulled a reverse by having the “victim” fake a heart attack . What we're saying is, there's not a whole lot going on here, but you'll laugh (Oh, you'll laugh!), because deep down we all like seeing someone get the living crap scared out of them.
Things haven’t been easy lately for The Real Housewives of New York City’s Ramona Singer. It’s been rollercoaster ride of emotion and healing after Ramona’s husband cheated on her . But Ramona is getting her groove back, and she is opening up about the nightmare of 60-year-old Mario’s affair with Kasey Dexter , 33. In her upcoming book, Life on the Ramona Coaster , Ramona says that she became so depressed after learning about her husband’s affair that she considered suicide . “The stress of everything became unmanageable and it began to wreak havoc on my mind, body and spirit,” she candidly writes. “There were times when I was so low that I almost felt like throwing myself in front of a subway train.” Alarmed by her emotional state, a doctor prescribed her anxiety medication. However, it didn’t help, and the 58-year-old reality star and jewelry designer started popping extra pills. She even says that she took so many pills one evening that she fell asleep during a Broadway production of Kinky Boots. “I kept nodding off because I was taking too much anxiety medication,” she claims. “I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was overmedicating myself to combat depression.” Ramona learned Mario and Kasey were continuing their affair even after she gave his a** a second chance. So she finally kicked her philandering husband to the curb once and for all. After filing for divorce, Ramona’s emotional health began to improve. Some sources claim that Ramona has considered giving her sleazy ex-husband a third chance. But her behavior on this season of The Real Housewives of New York City suggests otherwise.
Lots of teens have rummaged through their parents’ old photo albums in search of laughable fashion statements and tragic hairstyles, but it’s not often that an old party pic turns out to be a priceless rock history artifact. That’s the experience that Seattle-area teen Maggie Poukkula had when she unearthed an old photo of her dad rocking out with Kurt Cobain in 1987. It wasn’t until she tweeted a photo of the photo that fans informed her the pic was taken at Nirvana’s first-ever gig. Maggie captioned the above image, “Pictures of my dad and Kurt Cobain playing together back in the day.” Asked by a fan if the photo was taken at the band’s first-ever performance, Maggie replied, “I don’t know. I’d have to ask my dad.” As it turns out the house party portrayed was held at the house of Maggie’s father in Raymond, Washington in March of 1987. At the time, young Tony Poukkula was spending his free time jamming with a newly formed punk trio that who called themselves Nirvana. The seminal grunge band has been back in the news a lot lately for both good reasons (a documentary about Kurt Cobain’s life was met with critical acclaim) and bad (the doc featured footage of Cobain holding his infant daughter while high on heroin ). By now, the story of the band’s meteoric rise, shambolic fall, and partial resurrection (Dave Grohl remains one of the world’s biggest rock stars) is well-known to even the most casual fans. But sometimes, it takes a photo like this to remind us of how it all began – a group of friends jamming together for the love of music and maybe some free beers. Good find, Maggie.
Last June, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas announced their split . Now, just over a year later, the estranged couple has finalized their divorce. Court records show that both Melanie and Antonio, who cited irreconcilable difference as the reason for divorce, have signed all of the necessary legal documents required to end their 18-year marriage. Though their divorce didn’t draw a significant amount of media attention, it wasn’t without drama. Melanie wanted full custody of their daughter, Stella. She also requested spousal support. However, the custody issue was easily resolved when Stella turned 18 last September, relieving them of any necessary custody arrangements. A judge still has to sign off on the documents, but that should happen any day. So, essentially, the two have divorced and can move their separate ways. Certainly, this divorce couldn’t have been easy on Melanie and Antonio. But luckily, they have practice. This is Melanie’s fourth divorce and Antonio’s second. He was once one of the music industry’s wealthiest rappers, but last week news broke that 50 Cent declared bankruptcy . Forbes magazine claimed the rapper is worth a staggering $155 million. But Fiddy’s stage name may have become a self-fulfilling prophecy. He claimed in court on Tuesday that he is down to just $4.375 million . Could he be saying this to get out of paying punitive damages to Rick Ross’ ex-wife? In mid-June, 50 Cent was sued for releasing a sex tape of Rick Ross’ ex. And now, he is claiming to be broke. Many believe he is downplaying is fortune by claiming he is broke and even clueless about his own fortune. In his testimony, he said he made only $100,000 for his appearance in the new film “Southpaw.” He also suggested that he doesn’t know about his deals with Disney and Reebok. Not only did he not know how much money he is making from his Reebok gig, the rap mogul said he has never even been in a Reebok store. He was prodded with questions about his display of wealth and luxury in the media. 50 said that he exaggerates his lifestyle because that is what hip-hop is about. In fact, he said that it is so exaggerated that fans would be surprised to know that he owns only a few chains and three cars. When questioned about a recent excursion to a strip club where he was tossing cash around he stated the event was “on his itinerary.” Rick Ross’ wife must have been on his to-do list too.
Earlier today the 2015 MTV VMA nominations were announced, and while there were few surprises (Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran predictably led the pack with the most nods), at least one artist is downright shocked that she didn’t receive more recognition. Nicki Minaj received three nominations including Best Collaboration (“Bang Bang”), Best Hip Hop Video and Best Female Video (“Anaconda”). Even so, Ms. Minaj is pissed that she wasn’t nominated for Best Choreography or Video of the Year, and she’s been going off on Twitter in a rant worthy of Kanye. “U couldn’t go on social media w/o seeing ppl doing the cover art, choreo, outfits for Halloween…an impact like that & no VOTY nomination?” Nicki tweeted. “If I was a different ‘kind’ of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well…When the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.” She’s right that the “Anaconda” music video was wildly popular, racking up more than 500 million views on YouTube, but as with the Oscars and other awards, VMA nominations aren’t determined by popularity. Many fans believe that when Nicki references “different” artists and “other girls” she’s implying that she’s a victim of racial discrimination. It’s a hard argument to make when Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar are all nominated for Video of the Year and Bey and Kendrick are nominated again for Best Choreography, but what do we know? Maybe Nicki is on to something and something is foul over at MTV. At this point, all we know for certain is that Miley is hosting and we’re hoping Nicki will perform so that the two of them can engage in a twerk-off that will register on the Richter scale.
