Nicky Hilton in a Bikini of the Day

As much as I hate Paris Hilton for being useless fucking scum of the earth who had the opportunity to do anything in life, but instead chose to try to be famous and in the media for nothing, and as cheesy and obvious as I find her….I think Nicky Hilton is way worse. She is this weird, boring, latch on who attends all the events, who has a shitty body, and a face I just want to punch and not in a sexual way, becuase there’s just no substance to her….not that Paris has substance, other than a few substances used to manage her herpes, but at least there’s a personality and not just some sour faced cunt who is making me fucking sleepy. Either way, she was in a bikini and luckily, she was covering up… To See The Rest of the Pics – Follow This Link http://www.thesuperficial.com/nicky-hilton-in-a-bikini-and-other-news-12-2010

FCC Commissioner Calls For Greater Regulation of News Media

In a Wednesday interview on BBC World News America, liberal FCC Commissioner Michael Copps told correspondent Katty Kay: “I think American media has a bad case of substance abuse right now ….we are going to be pretty close to denying our citizens the essential news and information that they need to have in order to make intelligent decisions about the future direction of their country.” As TVNewser reported on Thursday, after Kay asked about instituting a “Public Value Test” of media outlets, Copps replied: “What we've had in recent years is an aberration where we have had no oversight of the media. For years and years we had some public interest guidelines…they agreed to serve the public interest and that public interest to me right now is crying 'news and information, news and information, news and information.'” read more

‘Glee’ Star Lea Michele Celebrates Grammy Nominations

The show’s cast is up for soundtrack and pop group awards. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Lea Michele Photo: MTV News Week after week, the “Glee” cast has been delivering catchy covers of songs that people already love, so it’s not surprising that in addition to big sales and ratings numbers, they’re starting to receive music industry accolades as well. And on Wednesday night, they managed to snag two Grammy nominations , not just for the obvious category — Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media — but also for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for their cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” “That’s so cool!” star Lea Michele (Rachel) said of the kudos. But she almost missed the news of their nods, since she was traveling to New York to attend the Billboard Women in Music Awards on Thursday (December 2). “I had to turn my phone off last night when we were taking of to come to New York, so up until the last minute I was texting my castmembers like, ‘What’s going on?’ ” she told MTV News on the red carpet of the Billboard event, where she was honored as a Triple Threat. “And then when I landed, I had, like, four from all of them like, ‘We got nominated!’ ” Funny enough, they are up against Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” and Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” both of which have been reimagined on “Glee.” (Also nominated in the category are Maroon 5 for “Misery” and Sade for “Babyfather.”) And though the soundtrack nod is nothing to sneeze at, Michele has a soft spot for the Journey cover that was featured in the show’s season-one finale. “I’m so happy, especially that it’s for ‘Don’t Stop Believin’,’ which is for the whole cast, so that we all get to go,” she said. “That’s just awesome.” Which “Glee” cover do you think deserved a Grammy nomination? Talk about it in the comments. You Tube Restores Banned Video After Media Storm

UPDATED DEC. 1, 2010 2:20 PM CST — You Tube issuedTheAlexJonesChannel a notice reversing its PREVIOUS DECISION to freeze the account. In the newest contact, You Tube writes that “Upon additional review we have reinstated the material and removed any penalties that had been applied to your account.” Only two days ago, YouTube responded to our counter-notification challenging the removal of a Wikileaks massacre video posted by literally hundreds of other media outlets by ruling to freeze our account. Now, thanks to outrage from our listeners and articles slamming the unfair ruling, You Tube has taken the rare and nearly unprecedented step of taking a second look, restoring the video and removing all penalties. Credit goes to You Tube for listening to our criticism. Ironically, though, even this reversal contains its own spin. Below the decision [see full letterbelow] is a message recommending that we “appeal the strike” in any future incidents we feel are unjust. However, this appeal process, known as a “DMCA counter-notification” is the exact venue we used to challenge the video’s original removal. It was when we DID appeal that You Tube ruled to freeze our account; the removal of the video itself was only a strike that would not have closed or frozen our account. UPDATE: Following the news that TheAlexJonesChannel would be frozen after it attempted to challenge the removal of its video posting of the Apache Helicopter video released through Wikileaks, YouTube contacted us AGAIN and reversed its decision, restoring the video following media criticism. Google & You Tube Ban Alex Jones Alex Jones & Aaron Dykes Infowars.com November 29, 2010 Both Google and its subsidiary company You Tube have banned Alex Jones and his websites, as attempts to curtail free speech widen. Within the past 2-3 weeks, Jones and his team have confirmed that after years of being listed under Google News, one of the largest platforms for news dissemination, that PrisonPlanet.comand Infowars.com have been blocked from its search results, effectively censoring their content from wide web coverage. Only smaller sites that re-post the content have appeared in Google searches since early November. Bozell Column: Glorifying ‘Great’ Liberal Judges

America was founded on the principle of representative democracy: the government would make policy based on the consent of the governed. Liberal elitists have grown increasingly impatient with this unenlightened system, and more and more, they are relying on judicial activists to remake society in their desired image. Far from being tribunes of the people, these judges are honored by the media elite for going around public opinion – and the Constitution – whenever the liberal impulse beckons. CBS’s “60 Minutes” earned the title “Syrupy Minutes” on November 28 with a thoroughly one-sided tribute to the “great” liberal Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, with a focus on how this “great” man publicly suggested George W. Bush was a tyrant. Pelley hailed how Stevens had “shaped more American history than any Supreme Court justice alive.” He especially underlined how liberals see Stevens’ opinions on the rights of terrorist suspects as “among the most important of his career.”

Media Far from Neutral on Swiss Voters Approving Deportation Measure for Violent Criminals

The liberal media are generally fond of touting European countries for their liberal domestic policies, chastising America by comparison for being too conservative. But when the electorate of such a country votes to institute a strong conservative policy over the objections of its political elite, the media's fascination with the European everyman evaporates. Take Sunday's vote by Swiss citizens to institute a referendum requiring foreigners convicted of serious crimes to be expelled from the country after serving out their sentences. Fifty-three percent of voters approved the bill, dismissing the objections of their professional political class who urged “no” votes. Covering the story, the Christian Science Monitor decried the move as “the latest example of a sweeping set of popular antiforeigner measures around Europe”: read more

Rihanna, Chris Brown Tweet About 2009 Assault

‘People won’t stop asking about it!’ Rihanna complains on Twitter. By Jayson Rodriguez Rihanna and Chris Brown in 2008 Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images Chris Brown and Rihanna have moved on from their rocky relationship, and the two singers took to Twitter over the weekend to urge their fans and the media to get onboard. The messages started when a fan of Rihanna’s asked the singer to avoid speaking about her relationship with Brown, which ended in February 2009 after Brown assaulted Rihanna on the eve of the Grammy Awards. Rihanna was more than open to responding to the inquiry. “AGREED! People won’t stop asking about it! It’s f—in’ annoying! Nobody wants to relive that, but some ppl can’t respect that!” she wrote . “I get it,” Rihanna continued in her next message . “They wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just making me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!” Since Brown and Rihanna’s altercation, which left her battered and bruised and him on probation and sentenced to 180 of community labor, which he’s already completed, the two have been ordered to stay away from each other by a California judge. They’ve each sat down in various interviews to discuss the night in question, with Brown visiting Larry King and MTV News’ Sway Calloway, and Rihanna opening up to Diane Sawyer. Each, however, has moved on. Rihanna is dating baseball player Matt Kemp and Brown has regained his pop culture footing following a heartfelt Michael Jackson tribute during the BET Awards . Brown also sent a message to his and Rihanna’s fans on Twitter asking that “Team Breezy” and the “Rihanna Navy” make nice with each other. “Y’all starting to sound extremely childish! #teambreezy and #rihannanavy It’s pointless,” he wrote. “Love team breezy & thank you rihannanavy for supporting ya girl.” Related Videos Chris Brown And Rihanna: The Aftermath Related Photos Rihanna And Chris Brown: A Photo Timeline Related Artists Chris Brown Rihanna

Sarah Palin’s Revealing Response to Facebook ‘F*ggot’ Rant

Mostly missed, in an hourlong interview with Sean Hannity that produced buzzworthy soundbites about Katie Couric and Dancing with the Stars, was former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s unprompted response to the uproar surrounding daughter Willow’s recent Facebook misadventure. While Palin correctly points out that the national media should not have exploited the musings of a 16 year-old, the balance of her response reveals important things about Sarah Palin, not as a parent, but as a media critic and human being. Not only does she undermine her claims of media “lies” by making stuff up herself, she also displays a disturbing attitude about the use of the word “faggot.” Palin is absolutely correct that the children of politicians ought to be off-limits to the media, or at least, that there ought to be a high bar set for newsworthiness. Similarly, Palin’s skill as a parent should not be considered fair game. Neither subject has any relevance to Palin’s career as a politician, or as a media figure, and decency dictates that they remain private. What is relevant, though, is how Palin chose to respond to the incident. Here’s the clip of Palin’s interview with Sean Hannity, including the completely unrelated question that Hannity asked her: (from Fox News Channel) Here’s a transcript of the relevant portion: People probably think that my greatest frustration is the lies that are told in the tabloids and on hateful blogs full of anonymous sources about my family … and there are constant everyday lies that we have to read that are out there in the public. But my family and I…thick skin…we can take it, you know…we can take what the haters say despite the fact that there’s injustice in the situation. I mean, look at the other day. Willow, finally, my 16 year old, she had had it up to here with somebody saying very, very hateful things about the family and saying mean things about her little brother Trig, and Willow finally responded and she used a bad word when she responded in defense of her family. And her response became national news, even hard news copy it turned into, so that’s ridiculous and I had to explain to her, “Willow, there is no justice here but you have to just zip your lip and let’s move forward.” Perhaps most glaring is the fact that, in an interview in which she promises to restore journalism, Palin gets her facts wrong. The exchange to which she refers contains nary a mention of Trig Palin, and was touched off by a single negative comment about Palin’s reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Palin would have been perfectly justified had she chosen not to get into the details of the story, but since she did, she ought to have described them accurately. More disturbing, though, is Palin’s complete dismissal of the use of the slur “faggot.” From her response, it’s not even clear that she identifies it as a “bad word,” since the conversation she references contains a barrage of obscenities. In any case, she clearly felt that the use of the word (or words) was justified, and that the only “injustice” was that anyone objected to it. This is consistent with the Sarah Palin who defended Dr. Laura Schlessinger over her use of the “N-word,” but not so much with the Palin who demanded Rahm Emanuel’s firing over his private use of the word “retard.” Perhaps this would be a different story if Palin had a “faggot” child of her own, or even a “normal” child who couldn’t live with the stigma that society still attaches to the label. That’s really the crux of the problem with Palin. Many liberals would probably use these seeming contradictions to charge Palin with hypocrisy, a clich

OMG, They’re Serious: ‘GM Says Thank You to American Public,’ Using Popeye, Animal House, Knievel References

When I first saw this video at a non-Government/General Motors site, I said, “Wow, that's quite a spoof. Who did that?” It's not a spoof. It's for real. It's posted in the media section at GM's web site. Even diehard defenders of the GM and Chrysler bailouts have to wonder what in the world the folks who put together the 60-second ad were thinking. Here's the hype for the ad found at GM's site
