P hiladelphia’s police commissioner, who’s Black, rejected a report released on Monday that said police racial bias was instrumental in the controversial arrest of two Black men at Starbucks in April. However, many studies point to implicit bias as an ongoing policing problem. SEE ALSO: Starbucks Incident Prompts Philadelphia Police Department To Finally Try De-escalation In Trespass Cases The Police Advisory Commission, comprised of a citizen oversight board, urged police officials to improve officer implicit bias training, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. “The goal for us was to help everyone understand that issues can be nuanced and tinged with race, or affected by race and racism, and the Police Department, often, is the person at the front lines of all of our issues,” said Hans Menos , executive director of the commission. That didn’t go over well with Philadelphia Commission Richard Ross , who pointed out in a statement that his department bans racially biased policing. “We can agree that biases, whether implicit or explicit, may distort the fears and perception of some citizens who call the police to report crimes,” he stated, shifting the blame to citizens who call the police for help. When they refused to leave, a store manager called the police, who led them out of the store in handcuffs. No charges were filed, and Starbucks profusely apologized for the incident. Starbucks also closed its stores in May for an afternoon of employee anti-bias training. Studies have determined that suspicion and fear of Black men underpin police brutality and make for disproportionate arrests. Unconsciously, white people perceive Black men as larger and more threatening than white men of the same build, according to the American Psychological Association . Stereotypes of Black men as habitual criminals and dangerous people are reinforced through the media, the American Bar Association said. A national survey found that whites overestimated the percentage of Blacks involved in burglaries, drug sales and juvenile crime by up to 30 percent. Police officers bring those attitudes with them, often unconsciously, when policing Black communities. Police departments across the nation are struggling to help their officers eliminate their bias. Just recently, Stormy Daniels was on late night tv, demonstrating how she spanked Melania’s hubby, but that doesn’t bother her — at all. “I’m a mother and a first lady, and I have much more important things to think about and to do. I know people like ti speculate and media like to speculate about our marriage and circulate the gossip, but I understand gossip sells the magazine.” Melania does admit she’s “been hurt”, but by the media, not her allegedly cheating husband. Thoughts?

It’s not uncommon for Hollywood A-listers to be described as the American equivalent of royalty. But we’re guessing that ever since Meghan Markle married Prince Harry , the Royals have become acutely aware that the chasm of difference between Tinsel Town and Buckingham Palace is about as wide as a continent and an ocean combined. Mind you, aside from the occasional breach in royal protocol , Meghan has been everything the Queen could have dreamed of and more. Her family on the other hand … At this point, we probably don’t need to tell you much about Meghan’s awful immediate family . Suffice it to say, they suck, and they’ve repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to try and destroy her life for fun and profit. Just as opportunistic but far less detestable, however, is Meghan’s nephew Tyler Dooley. The son of Meghan’s idiot half-brother Thomas Markle Jr., Tyler also descended on London in order to take advantage of the media circus surrounding the royal wedding, but his intentions were more … high-minded. Dude was just there to lend some support and promote his eponymous weed strain. Fortunately for Tyler, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to sing the praises of “Markle Sparkle” cannabis thanks to his role on a new British reality show entitled The Royal World . “English royals and aristocrats who will come together for one summer in the English countryside to live like the monarchs and super elite all while cameras are rolling,” reads a press release promoting the series. Tyler introduces himself to Royal World viewers in the clip below. Tyler Dooley Joins The Royal World “I didn’t watch the royal wedding,” Tyler admits. “I went over there. I was in London to support my Aunt Meghan,” he continues. “Honestly, with the controversy that’s happened with my family, all I wanted to do was just show my support.” Tyler cautions the audience not to be sucked in by the stereotype of the lazy stoner, claiming that he works “seven days a week” on his budding business, which is called — we sh-t you not — Royally Grown. Anyway, we might be more inclined to believe he’s a type-A go-getter if “Tyler Dooley” didn’t sound like the stoner sidekick in a ’90s high school comedy. But who knows? Maybe Tyler will beat the odds and make us proud overseas. He certainly can’t do any worse than the rest of Meghan’s family! A racially suggestive Facebook post by a University of Mississippi donor has prompted faculty and students to lead an effort to rename their journalism school after Civil Rights advocate, journalist, and educator Ida B. Wells-Barnett , the Chicago Tribune reported. A Facebook post by a prominent university donor is denounced as racist, sparking a call to rename the Ole Miss journalism school for Chicago activist Ida B. Wells-Barnett https://t.co/iKKD1fTIlK pic.twitter.com/2FviDr7wjy — Chicago Tribune (@chicagotribune) October 7, 2018 According to the news outlet Ed Meek , one of the institution’s biggest donors, took to social media in September to post about a drop in the school’s enrollment. “A 3 percent decline in enrollment is nothing compared to what we will see if this continues … and real estate values will plummet as will tax revenues,” he wrote. “We all share in the responsibility to protect the values we hold dear that have made Oxford and Ole Miss known nationally.” He posted that Facebook status along with a photo of two Black University of Mississippi students, which for many insinuated that racial diversity was the cause of the decline in enrollment. After receiving backlash, Meek issued an apology but simply saying sorry wouldn’t suffice. It sparked a larger conversation about racism on campus; both in the past and present. A group of professors and students penned a letter asking that the journalism school—which is currently named after Meek—be renamed after Wells-Barnett. “Removing Ed Meek’s name from the School is a necessary, but basic, step in a much longer process of reparative justice,” read the letter, according to the news outlet. “Our university must firmly stand for its stated values of intellectual excellence, non-discrimination and inclusion and support for all its students.” The group is also asking for the removal of a Confederate statue on the Ole Miss campus and for journalism scholarships to be created for Black women who want to pursue careers in the media industry. The state College Board will have the final say in this matter. The University of Mississippi made the decision last year to include plaques in campus buildings that were built by slaves. Ole Miss isn’t the only higher education institution that is dealing with present-day racism and past ties to slavery. Last year, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey renamed areas of its campus to pay homage to the slaves who built the university from the ground up. Marcus Ingram/Getty Images Miss Quad Talks Her Divorce On “Hollywood Unlocked” Miss Quad is responding to the numerous lies her estranged husband’s been peddling in the media. As previously reported the “Married To Medicine”/”Sister Circle” star filed for divorce from Dr. G after that shocking reunion when he confessed to taking a woman to a hotel room and almost getting “blackmailed” over it. Following that Dr. G made numerous accusations against Quad including claims that they were in a sexless marriage and she moved out of their bedroom in 2014. According to Quad, however, that’s simply untrue and she cleared the air on Hollywood Unlocked. Quad is convinced that despite Dr. G’s claims that he didn’t sleep with a woman who later said in an interview that he was lacking severely in the penis department, he actually had oral sex with that woman in a hotel room. “There was a young lady who came forward who he had oral sex with—I don’t believe he took the time out to get a hotel room and was not looking for anything in return,” said Quad. “I truly believe that that young lady was telling the truth.” She also clapped back at his claims that they hadn’t had sex since 2014… “Yes, [we are separated] and I filed for divorce too. He stated that we hadn’t had sex since the second year of our marriage. I’m in my 30s!” and added that her husband changed after the “Married To Medicine” cameras started rolling. According to Quad after that incident with Lisa Nicole where a glass was hurled her way , she told her husband she was unsure if she wanted to continue filming—but he insisted so that HE could get recognized by fans. “Who you see today that my husband has morphed into, this is not who he was,” said Quad. “It’s fame, it’s television. Moreso than anything else, I gave him my heart. […] “There was a young lady who I got into it with, there was an argument. She threw water at me, threw a glass at me, scratched my face. I told him I’ve never worked in any corporate capacity where it was okay to be treated this way. I said I think I’m gonna pull back from “Married To Medicine” and he said; ‘Well, why would you do that?! It’s gonna be different. People aren’t gonna know who I am anymore!’” She also wouldn’t confirm or deny that he was physically abusive and instead said there were “some very dark times” in their marriage and added that it’s why she didn’t want to bring a child into the picture. Quad has a point. Why would she bring a child into such a tumultuous situation?? Do YOU think she’s doing the right thing by getting a divorce?

Like Kamira Trent who was just shopping in a Colorado grocery store when she noticed a White woman, Linda Dwire , yelling at two Hispanic women for speaking Spanish. Dwire reportedly asked the women if they liked America, and then told them that if they did, they should be speaking English . Trent yelled at the bigot, “I’m calling the cops. You leave these women alone! Get out!” Dwire ignorantly clapped back, “You come from a generation that’s destroying this country. You will lose your country. You know what. You come from a generation that’s destroying this country” To which Trent responded, “No I do not. I have respect. You do not harass people.” According to Buzzfeed News , Dwire told the officer she was exercising her right to freedom of speech and that she found it offensive the two women were speaking Spanish because they “didn’t have the respect to speak English.” The cops arrived shortly after and arrested Linda Dwire. She was taken to Garfield County Jail, and charged with two counts of bias-motivated harassment.
