Are we living, not in the real world, but in a heavy-handed political cartoon? Because it’s looking that way. Melania Trump went to visit one of the children internment facilities that her husband’s administration has been using to hold immigrant parents separately from their parents. But some people feel that she really didn’t care. They think that because she wore a jacket stating, in massive letters, that she really didn’t care. (Here’s a clearer look at the jacket’s words — it’s not an uncommon sight on Instagram models) This is … positively surreal. See, while an Instagram model might show off a sassy jacket for whatever reason, the context of the First Lady’s visit is not. She was visiting an internment camp that holds children that her husband’s policy has separated from their parents as they are all detained. While some of the detained unlawfully crossed the border (a federal misdemeanor, not unlike using the American flag in advertising) and others arrived to seek asylum, which is legal, the humanitarian issue was that children were being kept in cages. Yes, cages. While ICE contacted news outlets to inform them that they objected to the characterization of the fenced-in enclosures that held innocent children as “cages,” even ICE admitted that it was not inaccurate. While within the facility, Melania asked “How can I help to reunite these children with their families as quickly as possible?” Only her husband, or Congress, can make that happen right now.
Becca Kurfin claims she fell in love with two men on her current season of The Bachelorette. But that predicament is nothing compared to the one producers of this show now find themselves in after word spread on Wednesday of Lincoln Adim’s past run-in with the law. Lincoln is a suitor on Season 14 and, as of this past Monday’s episode, is still in the running for Becca’s heart. You’ll need to visit our section of The Bachelorette spoilers in order to learn just how far he advances in the weeks ahead – but you only need to scroll down a little bit in order to learn the trouble Lincoln has gotten into. In May of 2016, Adim sexually accosted a woman on board a cruise ship. We don’t even need to use the word allegedly in this case because he was actually convicted of this illegal action two years later, just a few days before The Bachelorette premiered. Press Secretary Jake Wark of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office has said that Lincoln has to register as a sex offender for his behavior, while stating the following in regard to his conviction: The judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week during those two years. If he complies with the judge’s orders, he will not have to serve out his term, but if he fails to comply with those orders or re-offends, he could be ordered to serve out the year behind bars. This was and is clearly a pretty big deal. So the natural next question to ask is this: How the heck did Lincoln get approved for the show?!? How were producers unaware of his assault charge and subsequent conviction? Simple, they now say in response: Because Lincoln is a liar! In a statement released by the press in response to this new Bachelorette scandal, the studio behind the ABC reality series says the following: “No one on The Bachelorette production had any knowledge about the incident or charges when Lincoln Adim was cast, and he himself denied ever having engaged in or having been charged with any sexual misconduct.” Well… yeah, right? No d’uh! Of course Lincoln would deny this. Why didn’t the team behind The Bachelorette use all the resources at their disposal to find the truth themselves? Continues this production company statement: “We employ a well-respected and highly experienced third party who has done thousands of background checks consistent with industry standards to do a nationwide background check in this case. “The report we received did not reference any incident or charge relating to the recent conviction – or any other charges relating to sexual misconduct. The statement concludes: “We are currently investigating why the report did not contain this information, which we will share when we have it.” Fair enough. We’ll be curious to read it. Foxx, a Academy Award and Grammy award-winner will be the lead emcee when the show takes place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 24. The first time Foxx hosted was in 2009, days after Michael Jackson unexpectedly passed away. The show doubled as an all-star tribute to the late King of Pop. Last year’s show was hosted by Saturday Night Live ‘s Leslie Jones and was filled with memorable moments from Bruno Mars , Mary J. There’s been a Royal Change to the Royal Wedding. And it has us Royally Concerned. Scroll down to find out which major figure will NOT be attending this wildly anticipated event and to learn the significant effect it will have on the upcoming proceedings… According to TMZ, Thomas Markle suffered a heart attack last week and has decided it’s best for his health if he does not board an airplane and fly to London. (A newly-famous recluse, Thomas lives in Mexico and has tried to stay as far away from the spotlight ever since his daughter started dating Harry.) Thomas initially checked himself out of the hospital in order to attend the Royal Wedding, but he tells TMZ that he’s chosen to remain home for reasons that go beyond his physical well-being. You see, Markle recently made news when it became public knowledge that he’s been staging various paparazzi photos. As you may have noticed over the past several months, photographers have captured Thomas buying beer, looking disheveled and not exactly presenting the best version of himself. He says now that he finally accepted some money from a paparazzi agency in order to set up shots that appeared candid but which were, in reality, staged ahead of time. He did so partly to earn some cash, but mostly to avoid embarrassing his family with snapshots that depicted him in a negative light. Now that this information has gone viral, Thomas himself is embarrassed and TMZ reports he does not want to attend the wedding and bring any shame to those involved. It all sounds pretty darn sad, to be honest. Markle will at least have her mom by her side when she exchanges her vows this Saturday, but one pressing question now remains: WHO WILL WALK HER DOWN THE AISLE? Mere days prior to the ceremony, this is a rather huge issue to not have an answer for at the moment. The topic of Markle’s family in general continues to be a pressing one. Simply put, some of her relatives seem a bit… off. The former Suits star has been the target of wrath from her half-sister for weeks, for example, as Samantha Markle keeps dragging her sibling in the media because she isn’t invited to the wedding. And her brother also says Markle sucks ! “She’s clearly forgotten her roots. It’s torn my entire family apart,” hr recently told The Daily Mail, adding: “Meg likes to portray herself as a humanitarian, a people’s person and a charitable person but she is none of those things to her family.” UPDATE : Samantha now says that she’s the person who actually set up Thomas Markle’s paparazzi photos. “I have to say I am entirely the culprit,” she said during an appearance on British talk show Loose Women on Monday, explaining: “As we know the media can take very unflattering photographs of people on their casual days and blow it way out of proportion. I said, you know, the world has no idea you’re getting in shape, doing healthy things. “They don’t photograph you buying vegetables and PH water. They photograph you as unflattering ways as they can… “So I said, really you need to show the world that you’re getting in shape and doing great healthy things. So I suggested it. “There’s a lot of scrutiny that it was money motivated, it was not. It was my suggestion that to benefit him and to benefit the royal family that everyone looked good and they depict you as you are – in shape and doing healthy things.” Neither of Meghan’s half-siblings will be at the wedding. Tim Chung would like to have a few words with the Internet. Who , some of you may be wondering? Tim Chung , the heretofore unknown bodyguard of Kylie Jenner who has become an Internet sensation of late for two reasons: 1. He’s very attractive. 2. He may be the biological father of Kylie’s daughter, Stormi Webster . And, yes, we know what you’re thinking: Wait, isn’t Tyga the biological father of Kylie’s daughter, Stormi Webster?!? LOL, just kidding. (Even though this was also a rumor that spread around the Internet shortly after Kylie gave birth to her first child.) For whatever reason, folks simply refuse to accept that Travis Scott is the person who impregnated Jenner… … despite the rapper’s lengthy relationship with the star and despite photos of him at the hospital on the day Jenner became a mother. They really think Tim Chung is the dad . Is there any evidence behind this claim? Any rational reason to hold this belief? Not really. Not at all, actually. But whatever, right?!? It’s fun to consider! Not if you’re Tim Chung it isn’t. This chatter has grown so strong and so loud that Chung actually issued a statement on Instagram in response to the rumor. And he confirmed it!!! Just kidding again. “I am a very private person and would normally never answer to gossip and stories that are so ridiculous that they are laughable,” he wrote online, adding of this wild speculation: “Out of deep respect for Kylie, Travis, their daughter together and their families, I would like to set the record straight that my interactions with Kylie and her family have been limited in strictly a professional capacity only.” So he never got himself all up in there? Not once? “There is no story here and I ask that the media no longer include me in any narrative that is incredibly disrespectful to their family,” the bodyguard concluded. Chung also said as a caption to the above screen capture that this will be his “first and last comment” on the topic. Which we understand. We can see how this has been an awkward situation for him to navigate, especially when his attention is supposed to simply be on keeping Kylie safe. His defensive statement comes shortly after Instagram users flooded social media with side by side photos of Chung and Stormi to point out the resemblance they saw between employee and the three-month old. During this same time period, Kylie and Scott made their red carpet debut as a couple, posing as follows at the 2018 MET Gala. They don’t look like two people overly concerned with this rumor, do they? But it took on a (funny!) life of its own over the past week, forcing Chung to step up and address it at last. Still, even if he didn’t have sex with Kylie, it seems as if Chung could now have sex with, like, any single woman on the Internet. One Twitter user recently looked at his photo and wrote: “Whoooo is Kylie Jenner’s bodyguard AND WHY IS HE SO FINE.” Another added: “Sorry I was late to work, I was busy reading about Kylie Jenners bodyguard on twitter.” So don’t feel too bad for Tim Chung that he’s been at the center of this ongoing storm.
