Meghan Markle: Racy Magazine Photos Surface; Will They Cause a Royal Uproar?

Now that Meghan Markle is officially a global celebrity, the Internet is hard at work digging up old photos of the future Mrs. Prince Harry. There was this throwback picture of Markle as a student at Northwestern, one that is clear evidence she doesn’t ever age. And now there’s another intriguing image making the rounds, one that is clear evidence Harry is marrying a hottie! TMZ has uncovered a trio of photos of Markle that were snapped back in 2013 for a spread in a Canadian magazine called Sharp. Which is apt. Because the following snapshot puts Markle’s beauty in sharp focus, wouldn’t you say? Markle, of course, has worked as an actress for years. So it’s only natural that she has a history of revealing photo shoots and/or certain scenes that Queen Elizabeth likely wishes did not exist. She did pretend to give a fellow 90210 character a blow job several years ago, remember: Meghan Markle Flashback Footage: Who Did She Blow? We’re passing no judgment on the magazine spread or the scene above, of course. That would be a silly and misguided thing to do. But it’s impossible not to wonder if there will be any sort of uproar in Great Britain over these pictures, considering the prim and proper traditions of the Royal Family. Markle is set to officially join in May. She and Harry have confirmed they’ll be wed this spring at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The exciting news was announced two days after Kensington Palace also announced the actual news of Harry and Markle getting engaged , doing so via the following statement: “His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. “Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.” On Friday, meanwhile, the newly engaged stars stepped out together holding hands on Friday in Nottingham, England at the Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair. Not counting the photo shoot below, it was their first public appearance as two people who have agreed to marry. The 36-year old actress was greeted with a very warm welcome by all who saw her at the event. The palace noted in a statement that Harry has been extremely vocal about his passion in raising awareness for HIV/AIDS and was “looking forward to introducing Ms. Markle to a community that has become very special to him.” Markle, it should be said, has also been deeply involved in humanitarian work for years, which is a major reason why the two hit it off last July after they were set up on a blind date. Harry and Meghan are both very attractive. That probably also helped with the initial attraction. Image via Splash Meghan Markle’s Path To British Citizenship To Be “Normal” Just because Meghan Markle is about to become a Black princess doesn’t mean that she gets favorable treatment from Kensington Palace. According to TMZ , Meghan will have to apply for citizenship and wait up to 5 years like every other fish-and-chipper ‘cross the pond. This doesn’t necessarily affect the wedding, however, Meghan’s status or, lack thereof, will play a role in her potential child’s life. If Meghan and Prince Harry have a child before her citizenship is official then the kid will automatically be a dual citizen. American royalty of color does sound pretty good. Just sayin’.

As previously reported in great detail, Meghan Markle is off the market. The veteran actress is engaged to Prince Harry , confirming the blessed alongside her hunky fiance via a photo shoot and an interview this week. But that’s not all. Meghan Markle is also off television… … FOREVER! Following weeks of strong speculation, USA Network has come out and officially announced that Markle will not return to the surprisingly successful drama Suits next season. Said executives in a statement on Tuesday: From all of us at USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, we want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement. Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best. As a lawyer named Rachel, Markle is an original Suits cast member. She has appeared in 103 episodes of the series to date. It’s believed her character will be written out of the show along with her on-screen boyfriend, played by Patrick J. Adams, who Tweeted a pair of messages in the wake of Markle’s romantic news. After making a joke about Markle leaving her for another man, Adams wrote the following: Playing Meghan’s television partner for the better part of a decade uniquely qualifies me to say this: Your Royal Highness, you are a lucky man and I know your long life together will be joyful, productive and hilarious. Meghan, so happy for you, friend. Much love. Wow. Sounds like Prince Harry has himself a keeper here. USA Network’s above statement comes just over a week after the star’s Suits body double took to Instagram to share a photo of her standing next to the actress with a heartfelt farewell tribute. It’s clear Markle left a strong impression on all her colleagues. “It’s been an absolute pleasure and honor being your ‘STAND-IN’ for the last 2 seasons,” wrote Nicky Bursic, who has worked on Suits for the past six years. “Wishing you all the happiness in the world Bella.” In a sit-down with Harry on Monday, Markle acknowledged she was done acting. But didn’t sound all that broken up about it. “I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change,” she said in her first joint interview with her fiancé . We learned today, meanwhile, that Markle and Harry will get married in May, although no exact date has been announced just yet. “I think what’s been really exciting as we talk about the transition out of my career and into my role is,” she said in this same interview, adding: “The causes that are really important to me that I can focus even more energy on. “Very early out of the gate, I think you realize you have access or a voice that people are willing to listen and with that comes a lot of responsibility, which I take seriously.” We wish her all the best. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have kept their relationship on the Down Low for first few months of their courtship. But the beloved couple is now engaged… and they can’t stop talking about it! Within hours of confirming to the world that they are, at last, engaged to be married , the actress and the Royal stud muffin posed for a multitude of official engagement portraits… … and then sat down for an interview with Mishal Husain of BBC News. The soon-to-be newlyweds touched on a number of personal topics during the chat, beginning with the proposal itself. “It happened a few weeks ago,” Prince Harry said. “It was a really nice moment. It was just the two of us.” Markle referred to the question-popping as “an amazing surprise,” adding that it “was so sweet, natural and very romantic,” prior to delving into further details: The proposal took place while the stars were roasting a chicken for dinner. “He got on one knee … I could barely let you finish proposing. I said ‘can I say yes now?’” Markle said, while William laughed and added: “Then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like can I give you the ring? She goes – oh yes the ring.” As for other subjects broached during the fascinating sit-down… HOW DID THEY MEET? On a blind date after being matched by a friend. Harry confessed he had “never even heard of” Markle before the date, but said he was “beautifully surprised” when he made her introduction. WHAT WAS IT LIKE TO MEET THE QUEEN? Said Markle: “To be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honor and respect for her as the monarch, but the love that he has for her as his grandmother, all of those layers have been so important for me.” WHAT IT LIKE TO BE HARASSED ONLINE? Early on in their romance, Prince Harry issued a statement that asked critics to back off Markle after she received so much hate and grief online. Harry says he was “totally unprepared for what happened” after the public learned of their relationship, while Markle described the backlash as “disheartening” and “discriminatory.” (Her mother is African-American and her father is white.) “At the end of the day I am proud of who I am and where I have come from and we have never put any focus on that, we have just focused on who we are as a couple,” said the actress. WHAT WOULD PRINCESS DIANA HAVE THOUGHT OF MARKLE? “Oh they’d be thick as thieves, without question,” Harry told BBC News, adding: “I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, you know so excited for me. But then, as I said, would have probably been best – best friends with Meghan.” OKAY, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT RING … “The little diamonds [on] either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this on this crazy journey together,” said Harry. And Markle: “It’s incredibly special… to be able to have [the ring], which sort of links where you come from and Botswana which is important to us. It’s perfect.” WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MARKLE’S TWO DOGS? “One is now staying with very close friends and my other little guy is – yes, he’s in the UK, he’s been here for a while,” Markle says. M eghan Markle  will officially join the royal family as Prince Harry ‘s wife, according to several reports. The news of the forthcoming nupitals is significant for myriad reasons: the potential for the family to have a greater worldwide influence, the possibility of carrying on their bloodlines and believable increases in the royals’ diplomatic relationships. Perhaps the most important point is that Markle, who stars on USA Network’s Suits , will represent her African heritage as a member of the royal family. Markle may draw similarities to iconic figures who some historians believe were African, including Queen Charlotte . Black people in the U.S. and Britain have long talked about Charlotte, known to history as the wife of the English King George III (1738-1820). She is a direct descendant of Margarita de Castro y Sousa , a black branch of the Portuguese Royal House, according to  Mario de Valdes y Cocom , a historian of the African diaspora chronicled by PBS . Valdes y Cocum believes Castro y Sousa’s ancestry is traced back from the 13th-century ruler Alfonso III and his lover Madragana, who is said to have been a Moor and thus a black African. Other historians have disputed Valdes y Cocom’s reasoning, but the questions arising from his research are alluring. If Queen Charlotte was African, then there is the possibility of having a royal family full of Black members becomes more real. As the possibility becomes more imagined, the subject of racism moves more to the forefront. Allegations of racism against Blacks were raised about Queen Elizabeth by Sir Roy Strong,  former director for the National Portrait Gallery in London, according to UK’s The Times . Strong, a diarist who documented his relations with the royal family for decades, described one encounter with the matriarch. ‘I can remember the Queen Mother came to lunch at Ham House, which was a branch of the V&A, and she said, ‘I will bring the liquid refreshment’, and we all knew what that meant,” recounted Strong. “Suddenly in the middle of lunch, I was on the left of her I think, and the Queen was in Africa at the time, and the Queen Mother leant over to me and said, ‘Beware the blackamoors’. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: ENGAGED! For Real! We Swear!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged to be married. This is not a drill. This is not mere speculation. This is not an unconfirmed piece of gossip from yet another supermarket tabloid. This is really happening:  PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE ARE ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!! “His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month,” Clarence House has said in an official statement, adding: “Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.” According to Clarence House, “the couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.” But that’s not all… … Clarence House also confirms the wedding will take place in the spring of 2018.  That’s just a few months away! Look for the event to be the most publicized and scrutinized royal nuptials since Prince William exchanged vows with Kate Middleton in 2011. This will also the first time a direct heir to the throne has been set to wed an American citizen since King Edward III abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson in 1937. (For the record: Harry is fifth in line to rule England, behind his father, Prince Charles; William; and William and Kate’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.) In a statement, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip said they were “delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness.” As you can see below, rumors of a proposal have been floating around the celebrity gossip universe for months. There’s been specific talk, for instance, of how Harry would present Markle with a very special ring that has a connection to his late mother. But no details regarding the rock have been made public yet. “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan,” said Prince William and Middleton through Kensington Palace. “It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.” Markle’s parents, Thomas and Doria, also issued a statement. It reads as follows: “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. “Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. “We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.” The famous couple met in in the spring of 2016 at a charity event, although Markle explained to Vanity Fair that they “were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news.” She also gushed at the time: “We’re a couple. We’re in love. “I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. “This is for us.” Aside from this interview , neither Harry nor his bride-to-be have talked much about the romance with the outside world. But chatter has been swirling around them since they fell in love. We know, for example, that Markle will quit her work on Suits in order to live full-time in London as a Royal. We’ve also heard, upon their union, that Prince Harry will be made the Duke of Sussex. This distinction would make Meghan the Duchess of Sussex, mirroring Kate’s title of the Duchess of Cambridge.  How exciting!
