For the record, we do not know if the rumored rivalry between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle is real. But we do now know this: The Royal Family thinks the potential repercussions from this supposed beef is real enough that it has issued a rare public comment. Amid mounting celebrity gossip reports of tense/awkward moments between brothers the famous Duchesses, Kensington Palace has gone on record with a rebuttal. It felt a need to do so after The Sun quoted a source who claimed that Kate and Meghan had an “explosive row” (British speak for “argument”) prior to Markle exchanging vows with PRrince Harry in May. According to the newspaper, Middleton told Markle not to berate members of her team, saying: “That’s unacceptable, they’re my staff and I speak to them.” However, “this never happened,” The Sun writes, per a Kensington Palace spokesman, who adds: “It’s a tricky situation but it was a one-off and they are determined to maintain a positive relationship even though they are obviously very different in their approach.” There’s no name attached to this Kensington Palace spokesman, it should be noted. But if we are to believe that the Royal Family really did respond to the article about this fight, that’s a pretty huge step. Through the years, there has been endless chatter and gossip about disagreements… or affairs… or many other types of scandals between members of this very well-known clan. Yet you almost never see these reports actually acknowledged. Of late, though, the chatter has grown nearly incessant. It hasn’t helped that Markle and Harry are moving far away from Middleton and Prince William in order to raise their child. It also hasn’t helped that anonymous insider keep claiming Markle has made staffers quit . Heck, Radar Online only just penned an article that alleged Meghan’s personal assistant, Melissa Toubati, didn’t just resign after six months… … but she was reduced to tears by the Duchess of Sussex! “Her job was highly pressurized and in the end it became too much. She put up with quite a lot. Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended up with her in tears,” this website reports. In general, many folks are now coming out and saying that Markle can be quite the diva. They are also saying that Middleton is annoyed that Markle has stolen some of her spotlight. Kate and Meghan have rarely been seen together in public since the May wedding. Last week, The Sun claimed that Middleton herself broke down during a dress fitting for this wedding due to the pressure placed on her by Markle. Royal aides have neither denied nor confirmed the incident. Markle, of course, is expecting her first baby in the spring. She is due in early May. Asked during a public outing about the impending little boy or girl, Middleton did at least sound pretty excited . “It’s such a special time to have little kiddies,” she said. “And a cousin for George and Charlotte, as well, and Louis.
