Bachelor in Paradise Recap: Becca is Back!!!

The Colton and Tia Show continued on ABC on Monday night. By which we mean Bachelor in Paradise, of course, but early installments of Season 5 have focused heavily on television’s most famous virgin and the woman he briefly dated a long time ago. Early on this week, Chris, Nick and Jordan confronted Colton Underwood after he came back from his date with Tia. Was he really open to a renewed romance with his quasi ex? Yes, Colton told the fellas, but he was also still exploring other bikini-clad options while he pondered this possibility. Underwood just wanted to “figure things out,” he said for the 972nd time. Colton also noted that he couldn’t simply turn his feelings for Tia back on after being in love with Becca Kufrin and pursuing her for two months. See, these are the challenges that face the men who go straight from The Bachelorette to Bachelor in Paradise. It isn’t easy, folks. Fast forward a short bit and Tia got irritated with Colton when she realized he was flirting with Angela, concerned he was just keeping her on the side for whenever he felt giving her attention. Afraid she’d end up like Dean and Kristina, Tia stood up for herself to Underwood. Playing all innocent and trying to be honest, Colton told Tia he intended to talk to other women…  but he didn’t know what he wanted. (This is sort of the entire point of the series, right?) However, Tia wanted for Colton to be jealous of her smooch with Chris — and when he didn’t really seem to care, she said she had enough. She refused to stay in the situation because she knew she deserved something wonderful, something Colton was not providing. So… did Colton survive the night? He didn’t get Tia’s rose and he struggled with Angela, but then Bibiana swooped in and saved the hunky football player. The next day, Becca paid the women a visit. She was on hand to offer them advice, but her presence caused Colton to break down in tears, forced to relive the heartbreak that resulted from her elimination of him a few months prior. Seeing Becca brought back all these difficult memories, as the episode concluded with Kufrin making her way over to the man she sent packing on The Bachelorette. Elsewhere this week… – Kenny took Krystal on a wrestling date, despite the fact that she’d swapped spin with Kevin the evening before. – Kenny then got in the ring and showed off some impressive moves, and the two later connected over their experiences on two-on-one dates. – Back at the beach, Kevin grew tired of having concerns over his relationship with Krystal. He therefore decided to pursue other women. – He and Astrid hit it off in an unexpected matter and before we knew it… they were kissing and holding hands! – David warned Annaliese about Jordan, which made her anxious, yet her nerves were calmed a bit when Jordan arranged a romantic dinner on the beach for the two of them. – They made out and she gave him her rose later in response. – John and Kendall also kissed this week, but the latter actually gave Joe her rose, while Angela handed hers to John. – Finally, Nick failed to win Chelsea over and our beloved Wills went home roseless. Meghan Markle: We’ll Do ANYTHING to Make My Dad Shut Up!

Even though Thomas Markle promises to stop talking already , it doesn’t look like Duchess Meghan’s family’s reign of terror is going to end any time soon. Between her dad and two of her half-siblings, the Palace is at a loss for what to do. This isn’t the good ol’ days when they could just throw people in the dungeons, folks. The Palace is having to rethink its long-standing policies to address Prince Harry’s new in-laws. A source spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Meghan Markle’s family and how she and Kensington Palace intend to deal with this ongoing problem. Speaking of Meghan and her father, an insider reveals: “She has gone through periods of difficulty with her father in the past.” That’s pretty normal for most families. “But,” the source makes sure to clarify. “She does love him.” Of course, in this situation, loving the person who is constantly blabbing to any camera he sees just makes it more painful. “That’s what’s been so difficult about this,” the insider explains. “The Palace,” the source says. “Normally takes a firm policy of not commenting on personal matters.” The royal family is always going to be the center of rumors and speculation and conspiracy theories. The insider reveals that Kensington Palace “is now considering a more aggressive strategy to deal with the situation.” Jokes about the Queen hiring assassins aside, this is a big deal. The source explains that the Palace is considering how to deal “with both her father and her sister.” “No one wants to see this continue,” the insider shares. For anyone, having family members constantly embarrassing and badmouthing them on a global stage is an absolute horror. However, the source does mention that the Palace is “less concerned” when it comes to Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha. They’re less worried, the insider explains, “because she has never had a real relationship with Meghan.” Meghan was close with her idiot dad . Samantha, it seems, is just delighting in being cruel on any show that will give her airtime. Entertainment Tonight had previously heard about how strained things have become between Meghan and Daddy Dearest. “She has not spoken to her father in more than 10 weeks since her wedding,” an insider revealed. That is understandable. Especially since her father, by his own admission, hung up on Prince Harry a short time after his photo scandal came to light. Meghan, the source shared, “is still hurt by her father, who has both staged the photos and continues to give paid interviews.” He claims that the interview that he gave on Sunday will be his last. We’ll see. “The Palace is at a loss of what to do and is re-evaluating options,” the insider stated. The Palace is condiering a lot of things, the source said, “including a more aggressive strategy to stem the embarrassment caused by Meghan’s dad, half-sister, and half-brother.” What we’re guessing is that the Palace will either give official statements to clear the air and discredit Meghan’s relatives and some of their nastier claims. Or they may use their considerable resources to counter Harry’s in-laws in a less direct manner, perhaps with a media campaign of their own. It’s even conceivable that they could effectively bribe Meghan’s family into silence, though that would set a very alarming precedent. Meghan Markle Attempts to Break Royal Protocol, Gets Shut Down By Prince Harry

Being royalty may sound like a blast — in fact, as far as fantasies go, it’s up there with winning the lotto and showing up to your high school reunion the exact same size as when you graduated. But the reality is, those fancy titles come with a whole list of rules that must be followed at all times — and for the rest of your life. It’s a sad fact of palace life that Harry has known about since birth and that Meghan Markle is just now finding out about. Harry and Meghan have been married for about six weeks now, but it seems she still has a lot to learn about life in the Windsor court. We’re sure Harry and others tried to prepare Meghan for the many strictures of royal protocol, but that’s like trying to prepare a college kid for the real world. You just don’t know until you’re really in it. Anyway, Meghan is a new Duchess, but she’s also a new wife. And it seems that the required formality of the former occasionally comes into conflict with the romantic giddiness of the latter: Prince Harry to Meghan Markle: No Hand-Hold For You As you can see, it looks as though Meg makes a move toward holding Harry’s hand here. And he shuts down the maneuver with the speed and agility of a born athlete. If Harry hadn’t been born a prince, he could’ve played quidditch, or whatever the hell they do in England. We’re sure Harry meant no harm in refusing to take Meg’s hand, but such a public rebuke had to sting a little. It’s not hard to see why Meghan may have thought it would be okay to hold Harry’s hand at a royal engagement. In fact, those no written rule against it. “The Queen rarely holds hands with her husband in public and this seems to have set an unwritten precedent for the other royals,” Body language expert Robin Kermode tells The Daily Mail. Kermode adds that Harry may have simply been taking a cue from his older brother, saying: “It is very clear that William and Kate are emotionally close, however, they do not seem to feel the need to prove their love – particularly when on official state business.”  We guess it’s just one of those things you learn with time. To extend out earlier college/real world metaphor, there’s no law against getting hammered on two-for-one Tuesdays when you have work in the morning, but you quickly learn that it’s not the best idea. These days, Meg is like a 22-year-old intern retching into her wastebasket and giving closer consideration to the possibility of grad school. Taylor Swift and Katy Perry: Did They Finally Bury the Hatchet?!

It feels like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have been stuck in this petty feud forever, doesn’t it? Like, yes, it has been literal years since the first became mortal enemies, but still, it’s really been dragging out. It’s been over three years now since Taylor released “Bad Blood” — and since she revealed that it was about a fellow pop star . “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Taylor said in a 2014 interview. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'” She said that the previous year (2013 if you’re keeping up, which means that this feud is nearly five years old) “she did something so horrible” that made her realize “Oh, we’re just straight up enemies.” “It had to do with business,” she explained. “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.” In all the time since this whole mess began, we learned what really happened: there were some backup dancers who toured with Katy, and then they toured with Taylor. Before they went on tour with Taylor, Katy told them that she’d be touring again soon too, so if they wanted to work with her again, to be sure to work that out in their contracts with Taylor. So they did, and when it was time for Katy’s tour, they left Taylor’s. That’s it. That’s what this whole dumb thing is about. Things sort of simmered for a while — they both acted shady here and there , or they did things that were perceived to be shady. But earlier this year, Katy finally retaliated by releasing a diss track of her own in “Swish Swish.” And after she released the song, she spent a whole, whole lot of time talking about Taylor. She accused her of trying to ” assassinate my character ,” and she hinted that “karma” would be coming for her. “There is the law of cause and effect,” Katy said in one interview. “You do something and there’s gonna be a reaction. And trust me, daddy, there’s gonna be a reaction.” Then, in a podcast she did to promote her new album back in June, she said that she was ” ready to let it go .” “I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her,” she said. “I think it’s actually, like, I think it’s time.” “There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I’m saying? I love her, and I want the best for her.” “Maybe I don’t agree with everything she does,” she continued, “and she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but I just really, truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion.” And according to some new reports, it looks like they’ve finally been able to do that! Taylor has been spotted in Miami this week, filming a music video for her song, “End Game.” And according to several people who spotted her, one of her backup dancers looks a whole, whole lot like Katy. A source spoke with E! News and confirmed that Katy did film with Taylor, and that they made up while they were both in Miami. We guess we’ll see if it’s true when the video comes out, but we do know that Katy was down in Florida earlier this week on her tour, so it’s definitely possible she could have set aside time to hang with Taylor. Meghan Markle vs. Kate Middleton: Engagement Photo Face-Off!

It’s totally on once again between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. At least here at The Hollywood Gossip. A few weeks ago, shortly after Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement and then made their first public appearance as a betrothed pairing, we pitted the actress against the Duchess. We asked readers to vote on which beauty looked best in her engagement dress . And the winner was… FIND OUT NOW ! On Thursday morning, meanwhile, Harry and Markle unveiled their official engagement portraits, reminding our staff of two things: 1. Just how gorgeous each of these stars happens to be. 2. What Prince William and Middleton looked like in their official engagement portrait. Seriously, are these four of the best looking people on the planet or what?!? It’s only appropriate that they’ve found each other. Markle and Harry posed for fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski this at Frogmore House, Windsor for their portraits, with Lubomirski saying the following about the shoot: “It was an incredible honor to be asked to document this wonderful event. “But also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for one another.” Harry and Meghan will get married on May 19, 2018, which is just a month or so after Middleton is due to give birth to her third child. So these two couples will remain linked for a long time to come. We hear there’s a bit of tension between Markle and Middleton over the former sort of stealing the latter’s spotlight and thunder. Is there any truth to this chatter? Did the quartet recently go on a double date to squash the growing beef ? Expect plenty of questions along these lines, and plenty of rumors surrounding Markle and Middleton, to keep circulating online over the coming weeks and months. Meghan Markle is a divorced American newcomer, poised to marry into the British Royal Family. Kate Middleton is pregnant with yet another hair to the crown. As much as Kensington Palace tries to quash rumors of a feud between Kate and Meghan , people notice when one woman is stealing another’s spotlight. And some wonder if Kate and Meghan’s “double date” with the Queen has less to do with family and is instead a calculated move to make the women seem like friends. Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child. She’s due in April, and while a third royal baby isnt’t the same as the first, well, we’re still talking about a royal baby, folks. It’s big news. You know what else is big news? Kate Middleton’s brother-in-law is engaged. Harry and Meghan Markle have even set the wedding date for May 19th. As excited as people are for the nuptials … that is the month after Kate gives birth. They couldn’t have put it off? People reports that Meghan Markle joined her fiance Prince Harry on Wednesday for a yearly royal tradition. It was the annual pre-Christmas lunch. It took place with Harry’s grandmother, the Queen. And they were not alone. Joining them were Prince William and Kate Middleton. Now, the Royal family has been moving its members around secretly when needed for literal centuries. For this, though, no one made any apparent moves to keep things covert, and the whole world knows that Kate and Meghan were eating side-by-side. Maybe it’s just tradition … or maybe they’re hoping that news of this family lunch at Buckingham Palace smooths all of those stories of resentment. Even before Meghan Markle was engaged to Prince Harry or set her wedding date so close to Kate’s due date, Meghan was nudging the already publicly pregnant Kate Middleton out of the spotlight. Anyone else remember that ridiculous story about Meghan Markle “curing” Kate Middleton’s morning sickness with some sort of home remedy? At the time, Meghan was just Harry’s girlfriend, but rumors were already attributing magical healing powers to her. Now that the two are engaged, some people are basically forgetting that Kate’s even pregnant. As the wedding date approaches, discussions of Meghan Markle are going to grow more frequent, not less. (Honestly, I predict that plenty of stories about Kate giving birth are going to be framed in a way that mentions Meghan) Stories of royal resentment, true or not, aren’t going away any time soon. So what makes the royal family so happy to have Meghan Markle join them? A couple of things. One, Prince Harry isn’t a some sort of royal colleague — he’s the prince. He lost his mother at a young age, and his grandmother adores him. (Who doesn’t?) So of course they’re happy to clear away some of the hurdles that stand between him and happiness. Honestly, restrictions on royal marriages should have probably gone away a long time ago. Two, the British government and Kensington Palace know how to do math, and they’ve crunched the numbers. It’s projected that Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry could rake in some serious dough for the UK. How much dough, you ask? $670 million . With the UK bracing itself for losses during their Brexit nightmare, a wedding that draws in 1,000 times its cost is a big win. And Harry’s happiness? Also a win. Whatever issues Meghan and Kate might have — honestly, rumor tends to suggest that it’s Kate with the alleged gripes — shouldn’t matter when it comes to each other’s happiness. They’re about to become family. What’s almost certain is that, if these two really are feuding, it’ll stay quiet — expressed only as rumor. Because the Royal Family would love to avoid scandals. It would be so nice to believe that the four of them just had a nice lunch with their grandmother who’s also the Queen and that everyone was happy for each other. He lost his mother at a young age, and his grandmother adores him. (Who doesn’t?) So of course they’re happy to clear away some of the hurdles that stand between him and happiness. Honestly, restrictions on royal marriages should have probably gone away a long time ago. Two, the British government and Kensington Palace know how to do math, and they’ve crunched the numbers. It’s projected that Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry could rake in some serious dough for the UK. How much dough, you ask? $670 million . With the UK bracing itself for losses during their Brexit nightmare, a wedding that draws in 1,000 times its cost is a big win. And Harry’s happiness? Also a win. Whatever issues Meghan and Kate might have — honestly, rumor tends to suggest that it’s Kate with the alleged gripes — shouldn’t matter when it comes to each other’s happiness. They’re about to become family. What’s almost certain is that, if these two really are feuding, it’ll stay quiet — expressed only as rumor. Because the Royal Family would love to avoid scandals. It would be so nice to believe that the four of them just had a nice lunch with their grandmother who’s also the Queen and that everyone was happy for each other. Kate Middleton & Meghan Markle: Royals DESPERATE to Quash Feud Rumors!

It’s a busy time of year, and not just because of the holidays. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding day will be here in 5 months, and it sounds like the Royal Family has its hands full. Not just with preparing the wedding and the venue and the always-topical guest list. But apparently they’re also doing their best to convince the public that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle totally like each other. And it’s not an easy task. Meghan Markle is engaged to Prince Harry and living her best life. For months and months, their relationship — growing ever closer — was the subject of basically 90% of all conversations about the British Royal Family. The remaining topics were usually about Princess Diana’s memory, about something random, or speculation about Kate Middleton. But Duchess Kate is pregnant, folks. That made some serious headlines. She’s due in April, and a royal baby would normally be the talk of the town. Except that this is Kate’s third child. This isn’t going to bring the public jubilation that Prince George did, because excitement over babies comes with diminishing returns. And look, here comes Meghan Markle — shiny and new and stealing Kate’s spotlight. And, thus, the rumors of a feud between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle . Whether Kate actually resents her or not, the fact that Kate won’t be in Meghan and Harry’s wedding party is raising some eyebrows (even if it’s probably just a matter of protocol). And it’s not difficult to imagine Kate feeling jealous of this new, younger woman. Meghan Markle is a divorced, biracial, American actress who’s waltzed past barriers to marry Harry. We can’t know Kate’s innermost thoughts, of course. But even the mere rumor of a dislike between the women who will soon be family doesn’t look great for the royals. It only makes sense that they’d want to assure the public that everyone’s getting along swimmingly. RadarOnline  reports that Kensington Palace has a particular plan in mind. Apparently, they’re desperate to get “natural money shots” (not how we’d phrase that) of Kate and Meghan, side-by-side and getting along. That makes a lot of sense, right? You get some snaps of the two of them chatting or maybe laughing with each other and people are like “oh, they’re getting along! How nice!!” There’s just one little problem, according to RadarOnline ‘s insider. It takes two to tango, and their source says that: “Kate isn’t rushing to get the shot.” Now … that could be unrelated towards her feelings regarding Meghan Markle. Kate’s a mother and she’s not only pregnant, but has some majorly rough morning sickness. (It’s so severe that she had to be rushed to the hospital, which was was what tipped us off a couple of weeks before the pregnancy announcement) So when Kate’s feeling well enough to get all dolled up and go outside and be photographed, we imagine that she wants to spend that on official appearances, not on making it look like she doesn’t despise her future sister-in-law. That’s fair, right? Either way, though, RadarOnline says that Kensington Palace is planning to photograph Kate and Meghan together over the holidays at Sandringham church. When people aren’t sure of the friendliness between two women who are drawn close by circumstances, it’s often assumed that the women are feuding. Whether they’re actresses on a set or two women who become indirect family, if two women aren’t joined at the hip, people seem eager to assume that they hate each other. Some of that may be misogyny. At other times, though, it’s just reading between the lines. Whatever the truth, we hope that Kate and Meghan become close.
