Despite Megyn Kelly’s desperate attempts to stay relevant by defending Brett Kavanaugh of all people, her ratings are on death’s door. NBC wants to fire her in order to rid themselves of a $23 million headache. Apparently she’s been confiding in friends that she wants to go crawling back to FOX. Megyn Kelly is said to be the most highly paid television personality at NBC. Her catastrophic ratings during Today ‘s third hour might not warrant it, but she’s said to be pulling down about $23 million per year. But we keep hearing stories that NBC wants to fire Megyn , and apparently Megyn thinks that she knows who is responsible. RadarOnline reports that Megyn Kelly blames Savannah Guthrie for the leaks. And during the 8 hours of live coverage that NBC provided of the Kavanaugh hearings, Megyn and Savannah’s feud reached new intensity. “As the day went on,” an insider says. “Savannah and Megyn got nastier and nastier.” The source goes on to say that the two were “making little digs at each other.” “When the live broadcast ended,” the insider dishes. “The two of them exploded.” Megyn and Savannah were reportedly “accusing each other of talking over one another and interrupting.” While Megyn barely treads water in the ratings, Savannah and Hoda Kotb have skyrocketed in popularity in the wake of Lauer’s firing. Megyn is said to not really be fitting in over at NBC. Earlier this month, more than two dozen folks from NBC watched Al Roker’s Broadway debut in Waitress . Care to guess who was reportedly not invited? Because Megyn was not part of that group outing. “After the show,” an insider dished. “They all went to Butter restaurant on 45th Street with Al and his wife to celebrate.” That sounds so wonderful … for the people there. “One staff member was overheard saying, ‘This family does everything together,’” the source said. “But,” the insider editorialized. “Obviously that ‘family’ doesn’t include Megyn!” Ouch! At this point, there has to be more to it than the fact that Megyn came over from FOX, right? Maybe there’s some truth to those rumors that Megyn Kelly is a nightmare diva . She is reportedly confiding in close friends that she is in talks to leave NBC and return to FOX. “At FOX,” the insider says. “Megyn was a princess.” Of course — she’s attractive, mean, and she makes claims like “Santa Claus is white” as if Santa is a real life person and not a fictional character inspired by a long-dead Turkish man. “At NBC she feels isolated and alone,” the source continues. “She’s not happy,” the insider says. “And something has to give.” We love roasting Megyn Kelly, but here is a genuine question: has she tried … being nice? The best way to make friends is to be nice to people. Not just the people whom you want to befriend, but others. If you’re losing your mind and acting entitled with the people who handle lights and makeup, it’ll get back to Hoda and Savannah. We know that Megyn is probably still unlearning bad habits, like lying and defending terrible people, that she picked up at FOX. Caitlyn Jenner’s own daughter accused her of betraying her family , but now it’s Cait’s turn to feel betrayed. See, Caitlyn’s rumored girlfriend recently characterized their relationship as strictly professional. According to a report, that’s really gotten under Cait’s skin … and frankly, it’s hurt her feelings. On October 3, 22-year-old Sophia Hutchins spoke to Jim Breslo on his podcast, Hidden Truth . Sophia very casually announced that she and Cait are not in a romantic or sexual relationship. She characterized the two of them as a pair of “business partners.” Considering that she and the 68-year-old Olympian have been seemingly joined at the hip for ages … that’s a surprise. How many business partners spend most of their time at the same house or going on vacations together? RadarOnline reports that Caitlyn is devastated that Sophia would say this. “Caitlyn’s heartbroken that Sophia didn’t send a loud and clear message,” an insider says. Cait is a reasonably private person about certain things — for a celebrity who is also a reality star, anyway. But apparently this really wounded her. The source says that Cait would have preferred to hear Sophia “professing her love for her and saying that they’re, in fact, romantic.” Cait is not just reportedly feeling hurt — she is also said to be a little confused. “Cait’s not sure why Sophia’s grandstanding,” the insider describes. It sounds like, in her mind, Sophia should have confirmed that they’re dating, or at least said nothing at all. “And,” the source continues, overall “she’s not happy with this interview.” Uh-oh. Cait and Sophia have been inseparable for a while now, but this apparently has Cait feeling used. “A piece of her feels used and taken advantage of,” and insider reports. That’s never a good feeling to have. “And,” the source continues. “She thought she’d never feel that way again ever since she left Kris [Jenner] and the Kardashians.” We can definitely see how that would be a sore sticking point for her. To make matters worse, the report says that Cait wants to lash out in response. “She’s hurt and wants to punish Sophia,” the insider claims. Sometimes, that’s a person’s first instinct, even when it relates to someone she loves. The source adds that she may do so “by taking away the credit cards she gave her and reevaluate their relationship.” This could get ugly. It sounds like Sophia may have grown accustomed to living large on Cait’s considerable fortune. “Caitlyn is spending an absolute fortune on Sophia,” the insider previously claimed to RadarOnline . “She’s constantly treating her to drinks and dinners at the nicest restaurants in town,” the source mentioned. “And,” the insider added, Cait “buys her jewelry and handbags all the time!” That sounds very nice … but potentially very expensive. “Sophia is using Caitlyn’s cash to deck out her wardrobe with designer clothes and get her hair and nails done every week,” the insider claimed. If this report is to be believed, this is costing enough to make a dent in even Caitlyn’s considerable fortune. “This is costing Caitlyn at least $50,000 each week!” the source announced. Cait is said to be worth about $100 million, but at that level of wealth, spending one two-thousandth of your net worth every week on someone else is … probably too much. And it would mean that Sophia has a lot to lose. We have to say that we find this report to be a little … suspect. As we said, Cait herself is private about certain things. She has been very reserved about her love life since her transition. It is extremely difficult to imagine that she, even if she and Sophia are dating as so many suspect, is demanding that they go public. And if they’re not in an open secret of a relationship, then this whole thing would be bogus. Megyn Kelly has made it very clear that she thinks Brett Kavanaugh is innocent. The embattled Supreme Court nominee has said so himself, after all . But Matt Lauer, however? Kelly isn’t about to let her fellow journalist off the hook that easily. Lauer, of course, was dismissed by NBC close to a year ago after multiple accusations of sexual misconduct were made about him. The firing was swift and shocking, with executives arriving at their decision not long ater learing of one complaint; telling the public they presumed many more were out there; and letting Lauer go from his post as main Today Show anchor after many years on the job as a result. Just a few months later, Kelly came on board NBC. She made the move after a polarizing and popular stint at Fox News and now hosts her very own (low-rated) hour of Today. So these reporters, both controversial for very different reasons, have been like two ships crossing in the daytime television night. Or something to that effect. Over the past several weeks, there have been a few frightening rumors about Lauer making a return to TV in some fashion. According to a previous Page Six reports, Lauer told a few women who recently approached him that he has been busy fathering, but told these fans not to “worry” because he’ll “be back” on the small screen soon. Does this mean he’s had active discussions with networks? Does it mean he has a story to tell that will exonerate him from all allegations? Does it mean that Lauer thinks people simply don’t believe he supposed raped someone ? It’s unclear. When asked during an interview with Us Weekly if she thought Lauer should come back to the public eye after his fall from grace Kelly said she would not really comment. But she did add the following: “I know too much that others don’t know.” Whoa there. Interesting, right? There’s already A LOT that the public either knows or assumes, based on various rumors and articles. For example: Lauer supposedly made employees feel very uncomfortable by pulling out sex toys in front of them. He also made unwanted advances toward them. And he also had an affair with an underling named Addie Zinone, who actually sat down awhile back with Kelly. When asked if she garnered any backlash for having a woman on her show who had slept with the recently-fired face of NBC daytime, Kelly replied: “All I’m going to say is that I feel very strongly about the #MeToo coverage, the importance of doing it without fear or favor. I didn’t let anyone stop me at Fox, and I’m not going to let anyone stop me at NBC.” Kelly, who previously had spoken out about harassment she endured while employed by former Fox boss Roger Ailes, went on to explain that she believes some men who commit sexual misconduct could “potentially” have second chances in the public eye. She explained her side as follows: “I feel it’s a case-by-case basis. I don’t think we need to see Harvey Weinstein in polite society ever again, but I don’t think that’s true of everyone. I think, for some of these guys, there’s a way forward. “I happen to believe it starts with a full-throated apology, and not just this paper statement of, ‘I did some things wrong and I’m sorry.’” Seems like another shot fired at Lauer, right? This is what he wrote back in late November: There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly. Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I’m committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job. The last two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws. It’s been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. I thank them for their patience and grace.

Or nah? This week, for a special segment on forgiveness Megyn Kelly sat down with a white former police officer and one of the black men he framed, resulting in a ten-year sentence for drug dealing. Watch below: Here are the basics: Andrew Collins started falsifying warrants and police reports while working at the Benton Harbor Police Department. Three years later, while on the job, Collins mistakenly accused Jameel McGee of dealing drugs. Collins tailored police report falsely stating McGee was in possession of drugs and the man was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail. Three years into his sentence, McGee discovered Collins had been arrested. Collins told Kelly that he was “called to” reconcile with McGee after coincidentally meeting him in a park. “How did you get past the point of ‘Oh, no,’ to now they call each other brothers?” Kelly asked McGee. McGee suggested God had brought the two men together: “I know it wasn’t my doing.” “It was the Lord,” Kelly insisted. “It took years to get to this point,” McGee noted. Collins said that he had also been able to forgive himself after years of being a dirty cop. “Because I can’t walk through what God has for me if I’m going to keep myself in a prison of my past,” Collins opined. “And we also realized that God saved this story for a very unique time in our country. You know, you see a black man who was innocent, completely innocent, framed by a white police officer.” In 2011, after finally forming a friendship, Collins and McGee wrote their book, Convicted: A Crooked Cop, An Innocent Man And An Unlikely Journey of Forgiveness. In recent weeks, rumors of Prince Harry proposing to Meghan Markle have been all over social media and the tabloids. Across platforms, the consensus seems to be that the engagement is virtually a done deal. In fact some, believe that Harry and Meghan are already engaged and simply have yet to make a formal announcement. So what’s the holdup? Well, it’s important to remember that this is a royal engagement we’re talking about, and while it’s unlikely that Harry will ever take the throne, his marriage is still a matter of interest across the British empire. As a result, Meghan and Harry can’t just post a ring selfie on Facebook and call it a day. Several higher-ups need to sign off on the coupling before any sort of announcement can be made. And as candidates for royal marriage go, Meghan is a bit of a divisive one. To be clear, if there’s any hesitance from Harry’s family, it’s almost certainly not due to Meghan as a person. By all accounts she’s been well received by Harry’s father and brother, as well as by Kate Middleton and the Queen. (Sure, there are those rumors that Camilla Parker Bowles doesn’t like Meghan , but who the hell cares what she thinks, anyway?) There are three main issues that might give royal authorities pause when it comes to signing off on a marriage between Harry and Meghan. For starters, Meghan is American. For royal history buffs the situation might bring to mind that of Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII. Edward was forced to abdicate the throne in order to marry his American wife in 1936. In that case, however, the issue wasn’t so much that Simpson was American, as there are no clear rules against Royals getting hitched to foreigners. No, the reason Edward was forced to step down was the fact that Simpson was a divorcee … as is Meghan. Markle married Trevor Engelson in 2013, and the actor has already been a bit of a thorn in the royals’ side. Fans of Netflix’s The Crown are likely already familiar with the royal family’s policy on marrying divorcees: It’s strictly forbidden. The show portrays the romance between Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II, and Captain Peter Townsend, a pilot whom she was not allowed to marry because he had been divorced. Recent letters from the time reveal that the Queen would have allowed the marriage if Margaret were willing to give up her rights to succession of the throne. Of course, that was a different time and given a chance to make that decision again, the Queen would probably choose differently. And she’ll likely get a chance to do exactly that in the case of Harry and Meghan. The only other matter that stands in Meghan and Harry’s way–or that would have at one time, anyway–is the fact that Meghan is Catholic. Fortunately, the rule forbidding members of the royal family from marrying Catholics was lifted by the Queen in 2013. So there you have it. While there are certainly some complexities in play, Harry should be permitted to marry Meghan. We’re there are lots of guys out there who wish they had so many excuses to put off proposing, but we’re guessing Harry ain’t one of ’em!
Get ready for a blast from the past! Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt welcomed their first child into the world. Of all of the reality couples on all of the shows, those two are the ones who are still together and starting a family. But we’ve only just now learned who little Gunner Pratt’s godmother is: none other than Jen Bunney. The Hills was a veritable pioneer of reality television. It wasn’t a competition or a documentary — it was just a group of ridiculous people being filmed living their ridiculous lives. That’s not unusual at all, now. Back in the day, though, only a few shows really matched that description. Jen Bunney wasn’t as big of a name as Heidi Montag or Lauren Conrad, but she had her moments. What might have been her biggest and most life-changing moment of all was allegedly hooking up with Brody Jenner, Lauren Conrad’s crush, during Lauren’s own birthday party during the show’s second season. Yikes. And Lauren Conrad was, from that point on, completely done with Jen, and excised her from her life entirely. Whatever “shady thing” she did with him was the subject of no shortage of speculation until just a couple of years ago, when Brody Jenner denied that they’d hooked up. Specifically, he was at the time blasting The Hills (and perhaps reality television in general) as “fake” and mentioned that he “didn’t have sex with Jen Bunney.” He went even further, insisting that he “didn’t hook up with any of these girls.” Jen Bunney took to Instagram to respond to Brody Jenner’s admission, succinctly writing: “Cool #toolittletoolate” Considering how much that one allegation changed Jen’s life, that’s an understandable response. Though Heidi and Spencer had been the ones who encouraged Jen to kiss Brody at the time (even though we now know that it didn’t lead to sex), Jen has maintained a fast friendship with Heidi in particular. But also with Spencer. They’re a package deal. Both Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were guests at Jen Bunney’s 2014 wedding to Taylor Dunphy. It’s not unusual for friends to be there for such major life milestones, of course, but it’s a great sign that they formed a lasting bond. It’s clear that the stars of The Hills have done a lot of growing up over the years. (Well, Spencer Pratt still makes an ass of himself , but … that’s who he is, we guess) Heidi’s reconnected with her mom, and now Heidi and Spencer are new parents. And look at who the proud godmother is: In a clip from Heidi’s Instagram story, Heidi and Jen celebrated baby Gunner Stone Pratt. ( Gunner is an odd name that may refer to the Viking name Gunnar, which basically means “warrior.” And Stone is a perfect middle name for a child whose parents spent considerable chunks of their lost fortune on, well, crystals) Heidi announced: “Cheers, I have one of Gunner’s godmothers here, Jen Bunney!” We love that “one of” line. Exactly how many godmothers does Gunner have? Jen Bunney added: “We’re celebrating Gunner. He’s the best baby ever. We love him so much!” These days, by the way, Jen Bunney is working in the healthcare field and, last we checked, was working on her Masters. Considering that the original cast members of The Hills are all in new stages in their lives, now seems like a perfect time for a revival of the series. Especially since there’s a new Pratt that fans could watch grow up. Spencer, who has changed his Twitter name to “Pratt Dad” in honor of Gunner’s birth, says that everyone who was on The Hills would be up for such a reboot. Well … almost everyone. “The entire cast is in minus LC” Yeah, Lauren Conrad’s gonna be a hard sell.
Ralphie May launched his comedy career after being the first runner-up on Last Comic Standing in 2003. Since then, he’s had endless stand-up specials. Unfortunately, Ralphie May has died at the age of 45. And we have a few details about that. … Ralphie May often joked about his own mortality. During one stand-up special (I want to say that it was Girth of a Nation , but I can’t swear to it), he refers to how surely no one in the audience would be surprised if he fell over dead of a heart attack at that very moment, given the degree of his obesity. In his no-holds-barred stand-up (including titles — again, he had a show titled Girth of a Nation ), he didn’t shy away from referring to his weight. Some of his clothing seemed selected to emphasize his frame rather than, as many might do, minimize it. TMZ reports that Ralphie May has died of cardiac arrest. After a 6-week battle with pneumonia during which he nonetheless continued to perform his shows in Vegas, Ralphie died of cardiac arrest. He was in a private residence in Vegas, and that is reportedly where someone discovered his body. After 10 years of marriage, Ralphie and his wife and fellow stand-up artist Lahna Turner had gotten a divorce … which quickly became an ugly custody battle. Back in October of 2015, Lahna Turner filed divorce documents, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple has a 10-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son, and the fight over custody has continued even in 2017. Earlier this year, Ralphie May — who has never been shy about his fondness for marijuana — even agreed to random drug tests in order to be allowed to have visitations with his children. He was granted two visitations a week (which were to be supervised) and an additional Skype call. Ralphie will be remembered for more than just his comedy career. (Though we expect Netflix views of his shows to go up over the weekend) In late June of 2016, TMZ reported that Ralphie May had saved a baby’s life . In an airport, the baby was choking and the mother cried out for help. One person tried but failed to help, and then Robbie successfully performed the Heimlich maneuver and restored the baby’s ability to breathe. It’s not really a surprise that he learned it — custody battle or no, he was a parent, and he’d no doubt learned as so many parents do about how to potentially save their children’s lives. Or maybe he’d just picked it up like others do, from television or whatever. It’s easy to see celebrities who just do one thing — like comedy — as totally one-dimensional when, in reality, they’re anything but. While Ralphie May joked about his mortality and would doubtless joke about his own demise if he could, this is definitely sad news. He had a tremendous talent for making people laugh and bringing people joy. We can only imagine how much his chidlren will miss him, because even those who were merely his fans are already in mourning. Rest in peace, Ralphie. As you may have heard, Megyn Kelly did not have a great week last week. Her peppy, mostly apolitical morning show, Megyn Kelly Today , premiered to less than rave reviews and featured more than a few awkward moments. Thus far, the show has served to strengthen the argument that NBC made a costly mistake in courting the former Fox News anchor. Reports that execs are desperate to fire Kelly have been circulating for months, but new revelations about just how much the network is paying the 46-year-old lead us to believe they’ll likely ride it out in hopes of seeing some return on their investment. According to a new report from Radar Online, NBC has agreed to pay Kelly an astonishing $69 million over the next three years. Yes, that awkward morning show that’s become Twitter’s favorite punchline is earning Kelly $23 million a year. For reference, NBC pays Jimmy Fallon just over $15 million annually. Matt Lauer is paid more than Megyn, with a salary of $25 million, but he’s been with the network for 23 years! “How on earth can they justify paying her $69m for three years?” said one irate insider in an interview with Radar. “The network that created Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw and Matt Lauer will now forever be remembered for the $69m hire of Megyn Kelly,” opined another. What’s truly baffling about the staggering sum Kelly is being paid is that NBC had to know her contract amounted to a tremendous gamble on their part. Though more moderate than some of her colleagues, Kelly still made a name for herself as a rightwing firebrand at Fox News. NBC shelled out for a kinder, gentler Kelly, which baffled many within the industry. Why pay her so much to not do what she’s best known for? It’s the journalistic equivalent of signing Tom Brady for eight figures and having him play wide receiver. On top of the confusing attempt at rebranding, the network assumed the risk that left-leaning viewers would reject Kelly as a result of the controversial views she espoused in the past. And indeed, to seems to be what’s taking place. Numbers for Kelly’s second week aren’t in yet, but her ratings declined steadily during her first week on the air. Of course, that could have less to do with the fact that she once argued Santa Claus is white in an unhinged on-air tirade, and more to do with the fact that her show is simply not good.
