Mary Kennedy Death Caused By Asphyxiation Hanging

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s estranged wife Mary Kennedy died as a result of asphyxiation by hanging, confirming a report that surfaced yesterday. Now it’s official, according to the Westchester County medical examiner. The medical examiner’s report does not use the word “suicide,” although it’s being widely reported (and probably accurate) that Mary committed suicide . Police found Mary Kennedy dead yesterday afternoon at her home in Bedford, N.Y. She was already dead by the time authorities arrived at the home. According to the Bedford Police Department, officers responded to Mary’s home to investigate a possible ” unattended death ,” meaning no one saw it. Mary and RFK Jr., the son of Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of president John F. Kennedy, had four children. They separated back in 2010. Her death marked the final event in a life that had turned tumultuous of late and adds yet another dark moment in the Kennedy family’s history. Psychologists said events in her recent history, such as reports of alcohol and drug abuse and psychiatric problems, pointed to an increased risk of suicide. [Photo: WENN.com]

Is Miley Cyrus Too Thin?

Is the gluten-free girl going to wither away before our eyes? Leaving the Delano Hotel in Miami Beach Wednesday, Miley Cyrus sported a slim gray mini dress, putting her shrinking figure on full display. Later, she rocked a tube top and some shorts that barely covered what little of her there is left. Both outfits have sparked some concern … In April, the last time Miley Cyrus anorexic rumors popped up, she explained on Twitter that her noticeable weight loss wasn’t from battling an eating disorder. “For everyone calling me anorexic, I have a gluten and lactose allergy,” she said. “It’s not about weight – it’s about health. Gluten is crap anyway!” The 19-year-old then added, “Everyone should try no gluten for a week! The change in your skin, physical and mental health is amazing. You won’t go back!” Even if that’s true, to a point, people can go overboard, as some say Miley has done with whatever’s caused her to appear so gaunt of late. Or not. Talk to THG: Is Miley Cyrus too thin?

Really?? 6 Year-Old Kindergartner Arrested For Kicking School Principal And Threatening To Kill Administrators

6 Year-Old Kindergartner Arrested For Kicking And Threatening School Staff Educators know children throw tantrums. Kicking, screaming, violent tantrums. However, few would ever dream of calling the cops to arrest a tantrum-throwing child — especially a 6-year-old kindergartner. But that’s exactly what a Shelbyville family is facing after their son was arrested recently on allegations of kicking a principal and threatening to kill administrators at Hendricks Elementary School. School Principal Patrick Lumbley said this was a matter of doing what’s best for the student, who already had developed a pattern of aggressive behavior. “I know how this looks,” Lumbley said. “Our goal is, we want a successful adult one day. We hope we can get him on a path to success now, so when he’s a middle-schooler and teenager, he’s there.” Others, however, questioned the wisdom of taking such drastic action with such a young child. According to police, on April 18, the boy kicked Lumbley, 41, and also threatened him and assistant principal Jessica Poe, 34. The boy had just returned to school after serving a suspension for biting and hitting a staff member, a Shelbyville police report said. “We had reached a point where we were struggling with this particular child,” Lumbley said. “We had exhausted our resources here at the school as far as helping him.” Lumbley described the boy as typical in size and strength for a kindergartner — not strong enough to cause any serious harm to an adult. his kind of behavior is often associated with autism or other problems, but police and school officials declined to say whether this boy has been diagnosed with any medical or mental health problem. “I think arresting a 6-year-old is crossing the line,” said Dana Renay, director of the Autism Society of Indiana. “There are many other things the school could have done before they called police.” If the boy hasn’t already been diagnosed with a problem, Renay said it’s vital to get him checked out by doctors. Children with autism and other special needs have a special individual education plan that spells out how teachers will deal with outbursts and tantrums. Renay said there are organizations in Indiana, including hers, where families can receive free services for children with special needs. But children must first be diagnosed with a problem. “Kids have behaviors and behaviors need to be addressed,” Renay said. “Calling the police is not how you address a behavior where a young, young child is acting out.” SMH. Crazy Norwegian Who Murked 77 People Now Claims There’s A “Racist Plot” To Cast Him As Insane

Anders Breivik Claims There’s A “Racist Plot” To Cast Him As Insane Newsflash, buddy …you are already insane without the “racist plot”… Anxious to prove he’s not insane, confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik told a court Monday that questions about his mental health are part of a racist plot to discredit his extreme anti-Muslim ideology. Breivik, who has admitted to killing 77 people in a bombing and youth camp massacre, said that no one would have asked for a psychiatric examination had he been a “bearded jihadist.” “But because I am a militant nationalist, I am being subjected to grave racism,” he said. “They are trying to delegitimize everything I stand for.” Breivik rejects criminal guilt for the rampage on July 22, saying the victims had betrayed their country by embracing immigration. Even the defense admits there is virtually no chance of an acquittal, so the key issue to be determined in the trial is whether Breivik is criminally insane. Two psychiatric examinations reached opposite conclusions on that point. Breivik himself insists he is sane, and accuses the prosecutors of trying to make him look irrational. “I know I’m at risk of ending up at an insane asylum, and I’m going to do what I can to avoid that,” he told the court. Breivik became defensive as prosecutors quizzed him about sections of the 1,500-page manifesto he posted online before the attacks. It describes uniforms, medals, greetings and codes of conduct for the “Knights Templar” militant group that he claims to belong to. Prosecutors don’t believe it exists. If found sane Breivik would face 21 years in prison, though he can be held longer if deemed a danger to society. If sentenced to psychiatric care, in theory he would be released once he’s no longer deemed psychotic and dangerous. Source More On Bossip! Swizz Beatz’s K-Pop Venture Brings ‘Cultures Together’

‘My goal is to migrate the cultures,’ Swizz tells MTV News about his new partnership with Korea’s O&Media. By Nadeska Alexis Swizz Beatz Photo: WireImage Swizz Beatz is notorious for having his hands in a few different projects at once. In addition to outside-the-box ventures like working with Christian Louboutin to score the music for Paris’ Crazy Horse cabaret, the producer is currently focused on developing his joint venture with O&Media, which aims to introduce Korean pop music, or “K-Pop,” to mainstream America. “My goal is to migrate the cultures,” Swizz told MTV News. “It’s not about me being a feature or just producing K-Pop music; it’s about migrating musical cultures around the world. And I just felt like starting with K-Pop, starting in Asia and opening up different outlets to something cool and new.” To spearhead this project, Swizz teamed up with popular Korean entertainment group O&Media. “That partnership has been coming about for a couple of months now,” he said, detailing the progress they’ve made together so far. “We have a TV show component, a tour company component, a production company and a label. We’re just active as the tunnel for artists that want to do things in the West, or artists in the West that want to do things in Asia. This is about a whole migration of cultures coming together under our umbrella to have an outlet to express themselves.” Part of Swizz’s goal is to use elements from each music culture to help grow the other. “They still do artist development [in Asia], where back here in the States, the labels and our culture lacks artist development,” he said. “Nowadays, an artist can go into the booth, put out a song the next day, and that person thinks that they’re a superstar. But within the K-Pop movement, artists actually go through artist development. They take music classes that allow them to be ready for when they do become that big star. “I think that introducing different cultures of music can help everybody out, and that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop doing hip-hop or R&B music,” he added. “I have love for all genres of music, because it’s all art, and I just want to take the boundaries and lines of segregation and make them invisible.” In the simplest terms, the super-producer wants the love to be spread evenly across the musical world. “When we go to these different countries — Korea, Japan, China — as artists from the United States, we get treated like kings,” he said. “We get treated like real stars. And I feel that when they come over to the States, as successful as they are, they should get treated the same.” What do you think about Swizz’s K-Pop efforts? Let us know in the comments! Demi Moore Leaves Rehab

Actress has reportedly completed her stay at Utah’s Cirque Lodge after suffering medical emergency in January. By John Mitchell Demi Moore Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images Demi Moore has reportedly left Cirque Lodge rehabilitation center and is on vacation at an undisclosed location, E! News reports. After a January 23 health scare landed Moore in the hospital , the actress checked into the Sundance, Utah, rehabilitation center amid rumors that the actress was suffering from substance-abuse problems and a possible eating disorder. Representatives for Moore have not commented publicly on the actress’ hospitalization or what exactly she was seeking treatment for at Cirque Lodge. “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” Moore’s rep said in a statement. “She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.” However, audio of the 911 call made from Moore’s Los Angeles-area home revealed that she was experiencing seizures after smoking an unidentified substance and that she had been “having some issues” in the lead-up to the incident. “She smoked something. It’s not marijuana, but it’s similar to it,” an unnamed female caller told the 911 operator. “It’s similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort.” “There has been some stuff recently that we’re just finding out,” another caller added. “She’s been having some issues lately with some other stuff, so I don’t know what she’s been taking or not.” What exactly those “issues” are remains unclear. Cirque Lodge, according to its website, “is considered one of the nation’s finest drug treatment centers providing services for alcohol and substance abuse” that offers “a dual diagnosis program, providing individualized addiction treatment and services for co-occurring mental health concerns.” The “exclusive and private” treatment the facility offers has attracted many celebrities dealing with addiction issues, including Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen, Eva Mendes and Kirsten Dunst. Though the location was not disclosed, sources close to the actress tell E! she is “on vacation” and is “in no rush to get back to L.A.” The source continued, “She’s on total lockdown and only talking to a small group of people.” Related Photos Demi Moore Through The Years

Kate Major: Jailed For Battery, Resisting Arrest!

Kate Major, Michael Lohan’s on-off girlfriend and sparring partner, was arrested early this morning in Boca Raton, Fla., for battery and resisting arrest. The hot mess former assistant of Lindsay Lohan was booked at 3:10 a.m. She was detained for resisting arrest and battering an officer with violence. It’s unclear if MiLo was involved in this … but we wouldn’t be surprised. The fact that there’s a permanent restraining order in place prohibiting Michael Lohan from being near Kate Major obviously wouldn’t stop him , we know that. Major was kicked off a plane in November and arrested for misdemeanor battery after getting into a scuffle with another passenger. No charges were filed. Kate, who was once engaged to MiLo, checked into rehab shortly thereafter, but checked out just last week. Sounds like money and time well invested. Major was released this afternoon and ordered to complete a mental health / drug evaluation and bring it back to the court within the next 48 hours. Wonder how that’ll turn out.

Casey Anthony Treated For "Obvious" Mental Problems

Casey Anthony has “obvious mental health issues.” That is obvious. What was less clear is how and where she would treat them. Well, it appears that she is receiving professional psychiatric help at home in Florida. She’s concerned about leaving home – where she’s serving probation for a check fraud conviction – but knows she needs help, a TMZ report says . Not healthy . Whatever you think happened, there is a lot of work to be done here. The solution to get the help she needs while circumventing death threats is to have a “team” of mental health professionals visit her regularly. Casey Anthony has also employed the help of a spiritual adviser. The 25-year-old, who was acquitted of murdering her toddler, denied killing little Caylee Anthony, but attributes her undeniably bizarre behavior when her daughter went missing in 2008 to serious mental health deficiencies. Sources close to Anthony say she needs to cope with the “obvious trauma of losing her child.” Guilty or not, spending nearly three years behind bars in solitary confinement while awaiting trial for murder didn’t help. “It messed with her head,” said a source. Casey is also bettering herself by going to college online .

Was Amy Winehouse Crushed By Sudden Fame?

The kind of sudden popularity Winehouse achieved can be disorienting and paralyzing, experts say. By Gil Kaufman Amy Winehouse Photo: Dave Hogan/ Getty Images Some stars seem born to be in the spotlight, thriving in the attention and adulation of their adoring fans and finding a way to navigate the downsides of intense public scrutiny with seeming ease. Others, such as troubled singer Amy Winehouse , appear to have difficulty handling the harsh spotlight and retreat into a destructive cycle of substance abuse and self-harm from which they never return. Winehouse died at age 27 on Saturday. And though her cause of death has not been determined, it would seem with her sadly short career, which saw her rocket from obscurity in 2006 to tragic demise just five years later, she is the latest example of an artist for whom fame was to be too much, too soon. “Anyone who is thrust into that kind of celebrity with that kind of attention needs a solid, well-built foundation and support system that they can wrap around them like a blanket,” said Dr. Charles Sophy, a psychiatrist who has appeared on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab” and “The Housewives of Beverly Hills” and is the author of a new book on conflict-free communication for mothers and daughters, called “Side by Side.” “If you don’t have those key elements, you’re more likely to implode and hit a wall,” Sophy said. Read what Winehouse producer Salaam Remi had to say about working with the singer. Winehouse, a child of divorce, appeared drawn to destructive personal relationships — including a tumultuous marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil that resulted in a number of public spats and arrests. To the public at least, it seemed she lacked some of the foundation Sophy says is necessary. And though it’s impossible for outside observers to know for sure, Sophy speculated that genetics may have also played a part in Winehouse’s difficulty in dealing with fame, especially if there is a history of addiction or mental health issues in her family. “If those things are not dealt with, then they are huge issues too,” he said. “And if all that hits at once, you need coping skills and if those aren’t there …” Though her legend was based almost entirely on a single album, 2006’s Back to Black, which spawned just two singles that charted in the U.S. — “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good” — Winehouse was among the few young women in recent pop history to have attained worldwide critical and commercial success only to either spin out or retreat in the face of the rigors of fame. Some, such as former Fugees star Lauryn Hill, continue to perform sporadically, but have been unable (or unwilling) to release a proper follow-up. Others, like Alanis Morissette, survive their moment and go on to solid careers that never quite reach the same zenith. And some live somewhere in between, such as Courtney Love, who cracked up for years before getting clean and continuing her career at a lower orbit, or Fiona Apple, who seemed uninterested in playing the fame game and retreated into privacy, releasing just three albums over a 15-year career. None of those examples really fit the Winehouse mold, though, according to Jenny Eliscu, a Sirius satellite radio host and Rolling Stone contributing editor who profiled Winehouse for the magazine in 2007, as the singer’s star was about to go supernova. “It would be easy and understandable to think that this is a phenomenon that afflicts female artists, but the parallel that makes the most sense for me is Kurt Cobain,” she said of the troubled Nirvana singer, who committed suicide at age 27, after years of battling with drugs and struggling to deal with the limelight. “He had a band to say, ‘What the f—?’ But when you’re solo, it’s entirely your own operation with no one there to keep you in check,” Eliscu said. “You can languish in your problems. … It’s easy to get in your own cave.” Even if you’re not abusing drugs or alcohol, getting it together to make a follow-up to a huge album is hard. But Eliscu said that if you compound that with the loneliness of being a solo artist, particularly one who probably never expected her authentically pained music to reach such a wide audience, you have a recipe for major trouble. For every Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan who spin out after achieving early celebrity, there are Justin Timberlakes and Taylor Swifts, who appear able to handle the pressure. Sophy said that could be because they have that support system in place early on to help them deal with the pressure. “Someone who is 27 is not necessarily 27 years old emotionally,” said Sophy. “A 27-year-old can often act like an 18-year-old, because oftentimes addicts stop growing emotionally at the age they started using.” Even if, as father Mitch Winehouse said in a statement released after Amy’s funeral, his daughter had been drug-free for three years, Sophy said it can take a long time for the brain’s chemistry to return to normal long after a patient leaves rehab. Sophy said that any artist who puts themselves in the spotlight is taking a huge risk, regardless of their sobriety. As they look for affirmation that they’re talented enough, once success begins coming in a rush, it can make them doubt their skills more than ever. “When they hit it and it becomes a big thing, then there’s more pressure on them and their self-esteem, which might have been an issue to begin with and that’s a bigger mountain to climb,” Sophy explained. It’s hard for even the most self-assured person to say, “I’m really good at this,” and so, Sophy said, when that doubt creeps in while the world is watching, it sometimes makes it difficult to stay on the straight and narrow without self-medicating or finding some other way to cope with the pressure.
