“Hold It Against Me” is the new single from Britney Spears. Unlike the leaked demo from last week, this is the real version of the song, with Brit singing. We’re sort of let down. The lyrics, for one, are simply a play on a lame, ancient pick-up line – “If I said I liked your body, would you hold it against me?” The beat is more or less forgettable too. She just sort of mouths inane lyrics over whatever “edgy” electro beats her producers lay out nowadays. Doesn’t seem like there’s much about this that’s distinctly Britney, but that’s just one opinion. Sometimes, you pick up the phone and call your daughter. Sometimes, you need to hire one of the former members of All 4 One to pen a song for her. Michael Lohan has hired Delious Kennedy, one of the members of the group All-4-One, to write and perform a track dedicated to his daughter Lindsay. The song will be a companion piece of sorts to Lindsay’s 2005 track “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father).” Remember when she sang? Michael’s looking to start 2011 on a good note . “It’s about a “talented and beautiful young lady who has grown in our hearts, she is badgered by paparazzi, cut down by the media … She will wilt, but when she falls, I will always be there to pick her up and put her pedals back on,” says MiLo. Poignant, are we wrong? Entitled “My Rose,” the song is a dance/club track with a vibe like Usher or Lady Gaga . Kennedy recorded the song last week, and MiLo just “loved it.” The chorus goes something like this: “The girl is like a rose garden. Lindsay Lohan’s dad says she’s being manipulated by a lawyer dying for publicity and that suing the producer of a movie based on her life is absurd. Her mom and Mike’s ex-wife, Dina Lohan, and attorney Stephanie Ovadia have made rumblings that they may sue the producers of Dogs in Pocketbooks . Michael says the film about a spoiled starlet with addictions who goes in and out of rehab is just satire, although he hopes they get the facts straight.
