Lindsay Lohan enjoyed a temporary respite from rehab this weekend. On the docket for the troubled, recovering actress? Coffee and cigarettes. Guess caffeine and nicotine rank pretty far down the list of Lindsay Lohan vices. Kicking her addictions to cocaine and alcohol are top priorities. Here’s LiLo at a local Starbucks near Palm Springs … Lindsay’s looking (mostly) healthy these days. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] The 24-year-old spent Thanksgiving with her dad. While she and Michael Lohan are on better terms, he hasn’t been able to get Linds to quit smoking. Last month, when the reunited twosome began to mend fences, MiLo sent her an electric cigarette as part of a care package, apparently to no avail. Oh well. Maybe that’ll come after she completes her stint in rehab, which has been going on for two months-plus and seems to be working wonders. What do you think? Can she stay clean this time? Michael Lohan is slamming the director of Inferno , Matthew Wilder, for lying about firing Lindsay from the lead role in his upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic. Celebuzz talked to Michael who claims that, in no uncertain terms, “Lindsay left Inferno. Wilder can shove it up his butt. She didn’t want to do that movie.” “He’s full of it. He was trying to ride our coattails.” ADVENTURES OF MILO : Today’s task? Defend daughter’s name! Lindsay Lohan’s highly-anticipated lead role in Inferno had been in limbo after failing drug tests, spending a few weeks in jail and landing in rehab indefinitely. This caused shooting to be delayed, at which point Wilder said he let Lohan go and replaced her with Malin Akerman . It made sense … but MiLo’s crying foul. “She doesn’t need to do a movie like that,” Michael Lohan said. “Give me a break. What a great thing to do for a girl that’s going through recovery.” “Put her in a position to act in a position where she’s a drug addict. Real genius, and he cares, right? Come on. This is as bizarre and as heinous a story as we could possibly imagine. Michael Brea, a small-time actor who once appeared on Ugly Betty , has been taken into custody for allegedly chopping off the head of his mother with a samurai sword. According to police reports, cops arrived to an “extremely bloody” scene at Brea’s Brooklyn home around 2:20 this morning and found the actor holding a bible. They had to subdue him via taser. A neighbor recounted events, as he/she heard them, to WPIX 11: “I hear [Brea] chasing [his mother] through the house and he’s just saying a bunch of [Bible] passages like, ‘Repent, Repent, Repent.’ I heard him chasing her through the house and I heard a loud scream and so I have my father call the cops.” The victim was found with her head sliced off. At the moment, Brea has not been officially arrested for the crime.

Lindsay Lohan has regained the right to operate a motor vehicle. We are happy for her … and scared bit for residents of Palm Springs, California. The L.A. County Probation Department and officials at the Betty Ford clinic signed off this morning, so Lindsay can drive again. Special treatment? Not so much. Officials allow this for people “at Lindsay’s care and treatment level,” though it’s still odd, as her legal problems stem from driving. SCARED? It’s LiLo, we wouldn’t blame you. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] Meanwhile, Michael Lohan is so stoked about his daughter regaining her driver’s license, dude gave her his own Mercedes Benz to tool around town in! Not only is she planning on having Thanksgiving with dad , she’s cruising around in the (very expensive) wheels MiLo lent her to prove his trust. Michael dropped the convertible off Monday for her to drive as she pleases. How nice. We’d still keep a lengthy following distance … but nice.
