Michaele Salahi Gets Served

As the official Real Housewives of D.C. premiere party last week, cast members slammed Michaele Salahi . Catherine Ommanney even said she wouldn’t appear on a second season if Salahi was involved. Meanwhile, Michaele and awful husband Tareq were hosting their own gathering at the time – and getting served with court papers that accuse them of reneging on a deal with a public relations firm. According to The Washington Post , the couple is being sued by Brotman-Winter-Fried Communications. The company accuses the Salahis of owing more than $15,000 in unpaid fees from a 2008 polo event. “It was an affidavit for debtors interrogatory,” Steve Winter, president of BWF, said of the documents handed to Michaele and Tareq on Thursday night. “It means they’ll have to appear in court to discuss their financial means – how they are capable of paying off the debt.” Truth be told, perhaps Tareq and Michaele Salahi should countersue. For a PR firm, Brotman-Winter-Fried Communications has clearly done a shoddy job. These reality stars are already more hated than almost anyone else on TV. Then again, it’s unlikely any company could help them change their image. They’re truly awful human beings.

Real Housewives of D.C.: The Goat Rodeo [Recaps]

Well, that happened. Bravo unrolled its fifth entry in their wildly successful reality franchise and it was, well, something of a death knell, methinks. For the series, for DC, for women in general. It was just plumb awful, wasn’t it? More

The Real Housewives of D.C. Slam Michaele Salahi

Whoopi Goldberg is not the only person to despise Michaele Salahi . Just one episode into The Real Housewives of D.C. on Bravo, the reality star’s castmates are already talking badly about her and even making threats about future seasons. After Michaele and husband Tareq didn’t appear at the show’s season premiere party yesterday, Catherine Ommanney said: “I don’t want to see them; I don’t want to talk to them. I don’t want to be associated with them.” Would she return for a second season if the Salahis were still part of the cast? “Absolutely, categorically, no. I’ll have to have therapy the rest of my life to get over being associated with her.” Another Housewife, Lynda Erkiletian, shared a similar sentiment with Us Weekly : “I was very happy to hear that they had their own premiere party and would be attending that and not torturing us any more than they have in the past.” Meanwhile, Mary Schmidt Amons takes the side of Goldberg when it comes to the tiff between Salahi and The View . She says: “I don’t think the Salahis are really good at saying they’re sorry to anyone. It’s not my place to judge. All I know is that the accusations coming forward from the Salahi camp are completely false. It was on camera, a 200-person audience – Whoopi was just trying to encourage her to get back on task to the question, just get back to the question and answer the question.” Hmmm… remember when Stacie Scott Turner said this version of the Housewives franchise would focus on sophistication over fighting ? That was funny.

Whoopi Goldberg Makes No Apologies for Treatment of Michaele Salahi

Following an appearance on The View this week, Whoopi Goldberg approached reality TV star Michaele Salahi backstage and cursed her off. This fact is not in dispute. Both sides acknowledge the confrontation. But there are a couple differences: Salahi’s lawyer says her client was completely mistreated on the talk show, outlining her complaints and explaining what happened in a statement you can read HERE . Goldberg, conversely, pretty much says Salahi deserved everything that came to her. On yesterday’s episode, Whoopi started the show by discussing the events and not backing down from her role in them: “I went up to her and told her that she knew I didn’t hit her, and yeah, you know, how I said it: choice words. I make no apology for my choice words… I mean they were so choice you could’ve cut ’em with a knife and eaten them.” Goldberg says she was set off when Salahi’s husband pulled out his Blackberry and stared snapping photos of his wife’s heated discussion with the comedian. Michaele, meanwhile, went on The Today Show yesterday and described how Whoopi “berated” her. Again, this isn’t something Goldberg denies. She almost seems to take pride in it. Watch Whoopi’s take on the feud below and then choose a side: Whoopi on Michaele

Michaele Salahi Mistreated by The View, Attorney Whines

Whoopi Goldberg did not hit Michaele Salahi when that attention-starved waste of space appeared on The View yesterday. Let’s get that fact straight. Earlier reports claimed that this Real Housewives of Washington D.C. cast member had accused the host of making such a violent gesture, but attorney Lisa Bloom tells EW.com her client never made the allegation. However, Bloom is outraged over the disrespectful way in which she says Salahi was treated during her appearance on the talk show, which included numerous references to her “crashing” the White House and a bizarre cameo by Goldberg, who grabbed Michaele’s arm (saying “Excuse me, would you get back to the White House, please?”) and then rushed off stage. You can watch the six-minute segment and then take in what Bloom said about it in a statement below: Michaele Salahi on The View “It’s not appropriate for another host to come up from behind her and ask her, the guest, to change the subject. If Whoopi didn’t like the way the interview was going, she should have told Sherri or Joy or one of the producers,” Bloom said, adding that Goldberg cursed her client out in the dressing room backstage. Bloom then defended Salahi’s White House incident in general: “She was never charged with a crime. The U.S. attorney in Washington D.C. released a statement saying they’ve never committed a crime and have never been charged. But I guess the people at The View feel otherwise. Without reviewing any of the evidence, they’ve decided that they are going to smear her. It’s unprofessional.” Bloom and Salahi can cry themselves a river of this treatment, but The Real Housewives of Washington D.C. premieres tonight on Bravo – and they should send Goldberg a bouquet of flowers after the inevitably strong ratings come in.

Michaele and Tareq Salahi to Pen Book, Continue Being Awful Human Beings

It’s incredible but true: Danielle Staub may not be the most despicable reality star on the planet. That dishonor now falls on Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the White House crashers who have been confirmed as cast members on The Real Housewives of D.C. The attention-starved wastes of space are planning a memoir about the security breach that caused them to end up at a party with the President in November. According to The New York Post , they’ll write the book with investigative reporter Diane Dimond. Dimond says the tome will “reveal the truth… of who the Salahis really are… It just never added up to me that someone could sneak in – past the [security] perimeter, no less! As I began to investigate, I realized the Salahis’ story is much bigger than what’s been reported.” We’re begging you, America: don’t encourage these people. Don’t buy this book.

Michaele Salahi Confirmed as a Real Housewife of D.C.

Bravo has confirmed the latest Sign of the Apocalypse: Michaele Salahi, who made headlines with husband Tareq in November 2009 by actually crashing a White House party , has officially been cast on The Real Housewives of D.C. The network refers to the five chosen women as “connected D.C. power players,” who “have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings, and fundraisers in Washington society.” Then again, four of the cast members in this diverse city are white; and their occupations include a modeling agency owner, a real estate agent and, well, Michaele Salahi. If these are connected players in our nation’s capital… the nation is in serious trouble! Joining Salahi (pictured) on the series, which premieres August 5, are: Catherine Ashley Ommanney : New to the country, this British interior designer moved to America in the summer of 2008 when she married Charles Ommanney, a prizewinning photojournalist with Newsweek . The couple has two kids, Jade and Ruby. Mary Schmidt Amons : A mother of five, who is described by Bravo as “the true Washingtonian and granddaughter of radio and TV personality Arthur Godfrey.” Stacie Scott Turner : A graduate of Howard University and owner of a Harvard MBA. She worked in marketing at BET before becoming a real estate agent. Involved in many political fundraisers. Lynda Erkiletian : The 52-year old is a divorced mother of four. Owns T.H.E. Artist Agency, a Georgetown modeling firm that represents hundreds of models and stylists. Bravo says she likes astrology, “shooting clay pigeons, riding ATVs and cooking a mean fried chicken.” Well, okay then. Which of these women will be the next Danielle Staub ? Sadly, millions of people will likely tune in to find out.
