Latest Update: Bret Michaels’ Condition Is Improving

After suffering from a brain hemorrhage, Bret Michaels was rushed to a hospital. While he was in critical but stable condition, several tests were conducted. Later, his doctors found out he had a side effect called Hyponatremia. Hyponatremia is a lack of sodium in blood that can cause seizures. According to Dr. Melvin Field, it shouldn’t be considered a setback and it’s not going to cause permanent problems. Most people who suffered from brain hemorrhage have the tendency not to remember most of their hospitalization; and there a greater chance the rocker would also experience the same thing. In the meantime, Michaels is conscious and talking very slowly and in good spirits. Latest Update: Bret Michaels’ Condition Is Improving is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Kanye West ‘Cleveland Show’ Preview Pops Up Online

‘Kenny’ West challenges Cleveland Jr. to Auto-Tune-assisted rap-off in upcoming episode. By Jayson Rodriguez Kanye West and Cleveland Jr. on “The Cleveland Show” Photo: FOX Kanye West by any other name is still not to be messed with. Just ask Cleveland Jr. from “The Cleveland Show.” The animated series’ soft-spoken teen puts the move on a classmate in a clip from an unaired episode circulating online. Things get interesting when Cleveland Jr. finds out his crush is dating the Chicago rapper, who voices his own character. “It’s Kenny sippin’ Henny/ Rhymes slicker than Teflon,” West raps, during a musical confrontation with Cleveland. “The school been high, I’m the black Zac Efron/ And when I meet a shorty, you know we going backwards/ Pulling more tail than my man John Edwards/ Lumpy, chunky, boogie-eating chump, B/ Acting out of place like Hootie singing country/ Leave my girl alone and get your own tenderoni/ Come on, who are we kidding?/ You’re used to being lonely.” Earlier this year, it was reported that West would appear in an episode scheduled to air May 2 on Fox. According to show co-creator Rich Appel, West is a longtime fan of “Family Guy,” for which Appel was co-executive producer. “The Cleveland Show” writers developed a concept for the rapper and pitched it to him, Appel said. West, to their surprise, agreed. The multiplatinum artist, however, is less successful in his animated universe than he is in real life. “Kenny” West is still trying to find his way. In the limited preview, after serving Cleveland Jr. in rhyme, Kenny challenges the youngster to an Auto-Tune-enhanced sing-off, only to discover his counterpart can “sound like a robot” — with no aid. As of press time, the rapper was only scheduled for one guest spot. But Appel told People magazine in March that he would welcome West’s return to the show anytime, heaping praise on the MC for his contributions. “We just recorded him in the booth, and he was fantastic,” Appel said. “Once he read it a couple times through, he just owned the character, which I guess isn’t hard since he was named Kenny West. He said he’d be glad to [be back]. I said we could write him into the next 21 episodes!” What do you think about Kanye’s animated alter ego? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Kanye West

More information on Michaels’ condition is expected to be release on Monday, as he’s undergoing a varying amount of tests to determine the exact cause of the rupture. “While Bret is recovering we obviously have some shows that are being rescheduled. We are working to reschedule dates from now until May 21. At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas,, provided there are no further complications or setbacks,” the statement read. “We will then continue with all scheduled dates throughout the summer and fall, including the June and July tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Bret Michaels’ Medical Setback Is Routine, Expert Says

Singer is temporarily at higher risk for seizures as result of brain hemorrhage. By Gil Kaufman Bret Michaels Photo: George Napolitano/ Getty Images long road to recovery from a brain hemorrhage hit a minor setback on Tuesday, when his spokesperson revealed that the Poison singer is suffering from hyponatremia , a lack of sodium in the body that could lead to seizures. While serious, the medical issue is a fairly typical complication of the type of subarachnoid hemorrhage stroke suffered by the 47-year-old rock star, according to Dr. Joseph Broderick, a member of the American Academy of Neurology and chair of the University of Cincinnati Neurology Department. Bret Michaels’ Career In Photos “The body regulates the amount of minerals in the blood within a narrow range, and sodium is one of them,” said Broderick, a specialist in the treatment of acute stroke and the genetics of hemorrhagic stroke. Broderick, who is not treating Michaels and does not have first-hand knowledge of the singer’s case, told MTV News earlier this week that based on the information made public so far, the case is very serious but could be survivable. “There are a lot of things that could lead to sodium levels being outside normal range and it’s not atypical as a complication of a subarachnoid hemorrhage,” Broderick said on Wednesday. “It’s complicated, but is generally a treatable thing that people recover from and not generally life-threatening.” Hyponatremia can make a patient sleepier and, as noted, increase the risk of seizures in the short term, but Broderick said it doesn’t make them more prone to seizures in the long term. If properly managed by Michaels’ doctors, the disorder should not pose a long term threat to his brain health.

Bret Michaels Is ‘A Gentleman And Friend,’ Says Ratt Drummer

Bobby Blotzer wishes his friend ‘speedy full recovery,’ as Michaels remains in intensive care. By James Montgomery Bret Michaels Photo: George Napolitano/FilmMagic Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer has known Bret Michaels for nearly a quarter-century, and in that time, he’s had more than his fair share of good times with the Poison frontman. But when Michaels was rushed to the hospital last week after suffering a brain hemorrhage, the memories of those good times took a backseat to genuine concern for his friend’s health. Bret Michaels’ Career In Photos In a statement to MTV News, Blotzer said that he was shocked to learn of Michaels’ hospitalization, and hoped that his friend would recover quickly. “The news of what happened to my friend of 24 years, Bret, came as a shock and with much anxiety,” Blotzer said. “Bret is a gentleman and friend to not only his peers and close personal friends, but to all fans and people around the world. Speedy full recovery soon!” As of Wednesday (April 28), Michaels remained in the intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital, where he is in stable condition. His father told “Extra” that he had recently spoken to his son and that he sounded “a little slow, but fine.” According to a statement posted on his official Web site Michaels has been undergoing a battery of tests while in the ICU, and that, as a result of the stroke, he has been diagnosed with a condition that could lead to severe seizures. “Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels’ condition, a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia; a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures,” the statement reads. “Due to the severity of his condition, Bret Michaels continues to remain hospitalized in an intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital.” Michaels, 47, was taken to the hospital late Thursday night, after complaining of severe headaches. Doctors eventually discovered that he had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage , a survivable but serious stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain. Bret Michaels’ Condition ‘Stable,’ Dad Says He Sounds ‘Slow, But Fine’

Michaels is ‘moving his arms, hands, everything,’ Wally Sychak says. By Mawuse Ziegbe Bret Michaels Photo: Brian Ach/WireImage Bret Michaels is still under intensive care after suffering a brain hemorrhage last week, but a rep for the singer told Access Hollywood on Tuesday (April 27) that “he remains in ICU but [is] stable. They are running more [tests].” Michaels’ father, Wally Sychak, said he’s spoken with his son, according to Extra . In a video posted Tuesday, Sychak discussed a recent telephone conversation he had with Michaels. “He sounded a little slow, but fine,” said Sychak. “He was talking, not as cheerful as he usually is, but I guess he’s under sedation. But he understood what he was saying and knew me. Everything seemed good that way.” While acknowledging Michaels’ debilitated state, Sychak remained positive about his son’s condition. “Well, the fact that he was talking to me, and giving me information, I thought that was great because I understood that this is a terrible ordeal that he’s going through.” However, Sychak mentioned that he was still largely in the dark about Michaels’ condition. “We’re not getting information right now. We haven’t heard anything today or yesterday. I guess no news is good news.” According to Sychak, Michaels is “moving his arms, hands, everything,” and seemed confident that he would be heading home. “I asked him, though, if I could come out and see him and he said, ‘Look, how about holding off until I get home. [Because] here in the ICU you’re not really gonna be in there very long. Since it’s a long trip to Arizona’ he said, ‘just hold off.’ ” Sychak also sent a message of thanks for the outpouring of support from the rocker’s fans. “I want to thank them all for all the messages they’re giving and what I’m hearing on the phone and on his Internet site. I appreciate it all and all their prayers.” Related Videos The Poison And Bret Michaels Video Playlist Related Photos Bret Michaels’ Career In Photos
